I highly recommend you try out Jenn at Breathe Spa. After reading all of her reviews on yelp and seeing the 5's across the board... I made an appointment. I can honestly say she is the BEST. I won't go to anyone else. I go to Breathe Spa for all of my waxing needs. I have been looking for someone who gives a great Brazilian for a long time. I'm so glad I found Jenn. Plus, she uses hard wax - WAY BETTER!
On a side note... Jenn is incredibly friendly, talented, funny and gorgeous! She always has me laughing which makes the appointment more relaxing and fun. Every time I go in, she remembers everything about me and what I prefer. Love it.
Want an awesome wax? Go see Jenn. Period. -

Going to Jenn is like catching up with a good friend while getting spa treatments done! Her technique is amazing, she uses fantastic products (ask for the hydrating masque) and she goes above and beyond for her customers!
Jenn realized that I am terrible with checking my voicemails so she has started to text me to remind me of my appointments!
She moved to this new location about a year ago and even though it is further away from my apartment, I am willing to take public transport just to see her! -

She really is the sweetest girl- combine that with her incomparable expertise and I just straight up refuse to get waxed or facialed by anyone else, ever again.

As a new victim of waxing, this wasn't as painful as I had imagined in Jenn's capable hands. I was thinking it was going to be like a disembowelment over a hot fire, but it was much more like chinese water torture - mere child's play.
Seriously though, Jenn was efficient and made light of the work and her dazzling conversation skills made me somewhat forget I was getting waxed, and not just chatting with a girlfriend over coffee. Almost.
Should you choose to get waxed, Jenn is definitely the one to see! -

I have been going to Jenn for years. She is amazing- so glad she has her own place now. Some reasons why she's the only place you should go:
1. Really good technique
2. Totally flexible with appointments for when works for you
3. High quality products, completely sanitary, no cutting corners. She has a nice lavendar oil she uses on your skin so the wax doesn't stick as much
4. Very personable, never rude, awkward or pushy. -

JENN IS FRIGGIN' AMAZING. Details below.
Waxing: Hard wax is the way to go - the results look better and last longer - and Jenn is one of only two people in this town who use it. She's also quick, careful, and communicative. I was still relatively new to waxing when I started with her and she was more than happy to answer my questions and explain what she was doing. We've now moved on to talking about drinks and music and traveling and just about everything else, because she's super fun to chat with.
Skin care: For the past 10 years, my skin existed in a perpetual awkward stage. I grew up, but my face didn't. Thankfully, Jenn (after recovering from the shock of hearing that I'd never had a facial) introduced me to the joy of chemical warfare. Yeah, yeah ... "natural is better," "think of the planet," etc. I don't care. After years of trying (and completely failing) to soothe my skin with honey, oatmeal, vinegar, and other sundries, I've finally given myself over to science. Any y'know what? I'm starting to look pretty awesome. -

OMG I LOVE JENN! :)
She is such a great person! I love her energy and personality! And she does great work! She is so awesome and I'm so glad I met her!
i've been getting Brazilian waxes for about 6 years now and i've been to many different salons and spas to get waxed. I've been to the worst of places and i've been to the best of places.
I've been going to Jenn for about 3 years now. I actually first met her at High Maintenance and absolutely loved her instantly. She was very engaged in conversation, funny, pretty, caring, she is just awesome! She made me feel so comfortable.
She really makes you feel like your one of her friends, honestly!
She is the sweetest person ever! I was soo sad when she left High Maintenance because I couldn't find her anywhere! And i tried going to other places. I was soo sad, because no one was as engaged in conversation, i felt like they didnt really care. Or that they were just there to work and just blank.
BUT when I did find it it was such a relief! She totally remembered all the conversation that we had. I didn't see her for like a year! and she remember EVERYTHING i told her! It was so refreshing to have someone that you can connect with!
Anywho, I can keep going on about her. I love her she's just the best! And to add on top she does great work! I've been to places where they leave hair and are sloppy or have very painful waxing. BUT nope not Jenn! The wax that she uses is great! it doesn't hurt, and she removes everything! very clean about it!
She's great you should totally check her out! -

Where to begin...? If you've read my reviews then you know that I have some pretty verbalized feelings about waxing and salons/spas. Jenn has sprouted wings and is making a name for herself, and thus, I followed.
The space is quiet and relaxing and clean and comfortable. I love the heated bed to lie on! Jenn has an amazing bedside manor and I truly enjoy my appointment times with her (yes, even though I'm half naked). We laugh and chat the whole time and I'm barely aware of what is going on at her end of the table. The purple wax (the hard stuff) is great. Yes, it takes a little longer than the strips, but its worth is to save your top layer of skin!
Jenn has a great eye and can help you through small "situations" with your skin...and not just by recommending that you switch all of your products. She looks at your skin and gives you an honest opinion. Plus, HER skin is great, so that is the best testament of all.
Re-booking is always easy and I always find parking on Broadway (but I usually go in the mornings). Do yourself a favor and visit Breathe for a treat. You'll be glad you did...! -

Had my eye brows waxed and for the actual brows, they look great. OK, so I ended up having a bad reaction to the wax used but this is not the first time I have had this problem. My skin is super sensitive and you just never really know what is going to set it off. I still plan on going back but just plan on having Jen pluck and shape the brows. She is really great and professional and the room is very relaxing. I say go but if you have sensitive skin then request her to only pluck those bad boys away.

Just got back from my Brazilian with Jenn and had to write a review. I recently moved to Seattle from NYC and couldn't be happier that I found Breathe so quickly. I was a little skeptical of the hard wax - I've been a faithful regular waxer (and one time sugar-er) for awhile - but I'm glad I gave it a shot. I won't say it's not painful - hello, ripping hair off your nether regions won't ever be comparable to a martini - but in the grand scheme of the waxing world, it's definitely a good way to go.
As for Jenn, would it be totally inappropriate to ask her if she wants to get cocktails and be my new BFF in a Yelp review? Yes? Damn...guess I'll have to settle with letting her salvage my skin when I go back for my facial in a few weeks.
Definitely give Breathe a shot the next time you're looking for a place to get waxed or beautified. I don't think you'll regret it. -

After searching around for a good waxist (preferably hard wax) in Seattle, I found Breathe Spa, with Yelp's help, of course.
In short:
Jenn is awesome, the spa is super soothing, and hard wax is the ONLY way to go.
In long:
Price: I hunted around for a while for decent prices. Breathe Spa was definitely comparable for Seattle prices, and on the less expensive end for day spas of this quality.
Location: It's in a great spot, right on the main drag on Broadway in Capitol Hill. Easy to get to by transit if you don't live close by. It's up the stairs above Pho900, all the way down the hall. Walking in, it's a really peaceful and beautiful space. Clean, soothing, just the way you want it to be if you're getting a wax or a facial.
Waxing: I cannot say this enough, hard wax is the very best way to go if you're not a fan of pain. It is pretty gentle on the skin (compared to strips and sugaring), and after trying a lot of different types of waxes, it definitely is the least painful. Lucky for me, Breathe Spa uses hard wax. Brow, lip, leg, bikini, extended, brazilian...they do it all. Jenn is thorough and does a very clean wax. And the skin products have definitely worked well with my skin.
Other: Jenn is really sweet and makes you feel really comfortable while you're there. She's also good with keeping appointments on time.
I haven't been to other spas yet in Seattle (but I have in Minneapolis, Boston, and Vermont), so I can't compare locally, but frankly, I don't want to go anywhere else. It's tricky finding a good waxist, so I'm sticking with a good thing. Hope you have the same luck! -

So so so so so great.
I had gone to get waxed once before at another place and went home with a bright red skin that lasted for HOURS. I also ended up breaking out and that lasted for DAYS. Terrible.
At breathe spa, Jenn was professional, friendly and fast. I don't know much about hard wax, but it must be awesome because it hurt much less, my skin went back to being its normal color within about 10 minutes and I had no nasty breakouts afterwards.
Look no further. Go see Jenn. : ) -

I'm really, really glad that I gave this place a try. Honestly, I had not even heard of it before seeing a special listed on LivingSocial, but I decided on a whim to buy the gift certificate and make an appointment. I was not disappointed!! I have no complaints about the salon I usually go to for facials, but this was awesome.
Jenn is friendly, nice, and very knowledgeable in what she does. Although the salon is not very big and hidden out of view from the street, once you step inside it becomes a very warm and welcoming place. It's a really cute space. I had a relaxing facial, and my skin felt great afterwards. I liked that the products she used smelled great, but weren't overwhelming with scent. She also uses this hard purple wax that I had never seen before, and there was barely any pain!
The only thing is parking can be a bit of a pain on Broadway. But I took the bus up from downtown Seattle, and that worked out really well. I will definitely be coming back again. Yay for facials! -

My mother and I went to Breathe Spa yesterday morning for facials. We found out about Jenn because there was a great deal on Living Social for 2 one-hour Exhale Facials. I wasn't sure what to expect but it ended up being a GREAT experience.
She is located in a building above a Pho restaurant (Pho 900) in Capitol Hill and it was fairly easy to find. Parking was tougher, the only option really is to park in the lot behind the building, and it was $6.00 for 0-2 hours.
I was really impressed when I walked into the reception area, there was dim lighting, great decor, and nice music playing the background. The chairs were super comfy and she offered us a great tea (water is also an option). Great service. The whole environment was very soothing, quiet, and spa-like. From what I understand it seems like she shares the space with two other masseuses or spa practitioners. Anyways the ambience was perfect.
Jenn is super nice and makes conversation without being too talky--I find that when you're getting a spa service done (facials, haircut, massage etc.) and the practitioner forces conversation it's annoying. Jenn wasn't like that.
Anyway, about the ACTUAL facial: Jenn gave us little questionnaires about our skin types and what we normally use. I thought that was a great idea and she really customized the facial for your skin.
When you first go into the smaller room, there is a super comfy bed with a nice, warm comforter and everything just looks really, really great and soothing. I could've fallen asleep right there on the bed under that blanket. All the products she used smelled great and when she does the face, shoulder, and arm massage it was like heaven. My mom wishes it had lasted longer, it was so great. Nice pressure. Oh, except my mud mask was kind of stinky, but she warned me about that, and it was great, did its job.
Overall this was a wonderful experience and we felt perfectly relaxed, never rushed, and it was the best facial I have ever received. She also does waxing services but I don't know anything about that. Highly recommended. -

What can I say....I love Jen and Breathe Spa! She's the best waxer in Seattle and I won't let anyone else touch my skin for facials. She's amazing. She's always right on time and I get a friendly reminder text for my appointments. How's that for moving forward with technology?
As other reviewers have pointed out, parking can be tough. It's much easier to find street parking in the morning or during the day. If you don't mind paying, hit the pay lot behind the bank.
Don't walk, RUN to Breathe spa for all your skin and waxing services. -

Jenn, the owner, is sweet, down to earth, and is GREAT AT WHAT SHE DOES! When I moved up here from California I had a really hard time finding someone who knew how to wax my eyebrows appropriately. Jenn is the ONLY person who knows how to do it RIGHT! I will follow her wherever she goes!

was in seattle for a quick trip & found this spa. it was my first time there & it will not be my last trip. beautiful, peaceful & relaxing. had waxing & a facial. the best facial i have ever had anywhere. very professional atmosphere. i would recommend this spa to anyone wanting to be pampered. you can bet i will be there the next time i am in seattle.
