In 2011 I tried a number of different yoga studios looking for somewhere that I felt comfortable and it wasn't until November that I finally found Breathe.

I'm basically a little shy and I'm not supple or super fit, so can feel a little self conscious in classes, especially when I don't know what I'm doing (which is a lot of the time). Everyone at Breathe, staff and students, have made me feel really comfortable and welcome

Breathe has a wonderful feel to it. The whole place has been carefully designed, they seem to have thought of every detail. The classes are friendly. Instructors are friendly and helpful - often encouraging people to introduce themselves to each other. I've been in many classes that were very full and people happily moved over and squeezed a few more people in.... no-one seemed to mind and it became part of the practice - so many people all doing the same thing together and feeling OK about it too.

Gentle with Joanne (one of my favorite classes), I like having a little more time int eh poses to get adjusted and connect to my breathe. Qigong and Tai chi with Gideon and Ana was my best find - I absolutely love it! Some of it is very gentle, but it builds a lot of strength too - you can really feel the energy moving in the class.

I've also tried Restorative, Yoga Tune up, Yoga Nidra, Vinyassa, Wellness, Basics, Yin and Yoga fusion... All great classes (and flying, but that wasn't for me, I was too scared!)  I love the variety offered here - there is something like 80+ classes a week. I think I've been to classes with 15 or so different teachers, all have their own styles, all were helpful, supportive and informative.

They also have free Breathe and Meditation classes each day, and are just about to start a free cancer survivorship class too - very cool.

So, if you are looking for somewhere with a sense of community, that is welcoming, professional, well put together and fun - try Breathe - I love it there.

I found them through a social living deal, they also do a fabulous $40 for 40 days offer for new students. I love it so much I'm signing up for the unlimited membership!

I just moved back to NorCal from L.A. after 10 years, and I was in search of a studio that had a good balance... encouraging introspection and a holistic perspective, while also attending to alignment and challenging the body. Breathe hits this right on the head. The teachers are excellent! And there are several different types of classes to choose from... some that I have not seen anywhere else.

Some yelpers have stated that this studio is full of beginners from the older crowd, but I'm thinking the students vary from class to class. I like the Anusara inspired classes and the hot yoga classes, and they are mostly filled with people who seem pretty deep in their practice, regardless of age. The teachers know how to push you to your edge (but not over it), and people seem to be able to keep up, but really, who cares what everyone else is doing as long as you find yourself in the right place. I've seen some very serious and competitive students, as well as some very warm and humorous students. It's a melting pot.

The only things that I can nit-pick at so far are:
    1. The rooms are rather echo-y, which can make it hard to hear the teachers sometimes
    2. More expensive than I'm used to, but maybe this is the going rate around here?
    3. I received zero orientation on my first visit. Where do I keep my stuff? Is there a locker room? What's up with the tea stuff? Which room is my class in? Wait... there's a new student special??? But all in all, after some initial awkward wandering around, I'm happy I came.

I just moved back to the area. I was really happy to find Breathe. A place to practice has to feel right to you, and this place felt great.

The power class was challenging and I loved the teacher's style. She did not practice with the class. Instead, she moved around the room, assisting and giving instruction to people, all while still instructing the overall class.

You could tell that she cares about what she's doing and what you are doing.

I'm a RYT, as well. New to teaching than the teacher in this particular class and my training is in a similar style. She totally did it for me.

The studio itself is very cool. Small enough to feel intimate and personal but big enough to have a juice bar area where you can sit and chill and chat for a few.

    Definitely recommended.

Beautiful, serene facility, and friendly staff!

I've only been here twice, and both times for kirtan (one with Girish and one with Jai Uttal - both absolutely amazing!), but based on what I've seen, I highly recommend this place.  The yoga studio is clean, spacious, and they have enough props to go around.

They also have a huge water fountain thing in their hot yoga room.  Imagine the humidity in there while you do hot yoga... I am sweating just thinking about it.

They also sell yoga mats, props, water bottles, candles, books, towels, soap, massage oil, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items that look so cute but also expensive (and I still want them all).

Prajna Vieira teaches here, and I am her student at another studio - she is simply wonderful, so if you are local and are looking for a studio with great teachers and good environment, Breathe Los Gatos is awesome!

This is a gorgeous yoga facility.  Located conveniently near 17, this place has a beautiful yoga space for traditional as well as bikram yoga options.  It also has a nice area for grabbing a healthful beet juice drink after yoga, or perhaps some wheatgrass juice.

It is also the home for Sanctum Therapy, a wonderful massage practice, run by Shannon Brown.  I will return for the yoga classes soon and update the review.

Breathe is a beautiful studio and tea house. It is new and is a yoga retreat. The floors are wood, there is a lot of light and the studio has a huge running water  installation. They offer classes at every level including flying lotus which is fun! Studio is gorgeous and the staff is so welcoming and friendly. I love Christy, Nikki, Andrew, Jennifer, Marta, and Katrina's classes. All of the teachers at Breathe are incredible!

They're still brand new so there's definitely room for improvement. Compared to other places, this studio definitely draws an "older" crowd and the majority of the people are beginners.

The Bad: Of all of the studios I've been to in the area, the students here are unfortunately the least friendly. They're very guarded about their space and are unhappy about the possibility of having an obstructed view and glare people down if asked to make room for more students. Really disappointing to see and experience this kind of negativity in a yoga studio.
The Good: The staff and instructors are, on the other hand, very warm and welcoming and not intimidating at all, no matter what your level or experience. As another reviewer mentioned, Jennifer Prugh is indeed an inspiration. Because it's new, the facilities are clean and very nice.

If you're looking for somewhere to hang your mat, I would highly recommend checking this place out.

I would recommend this over YogaSource definitely (I have tried both studios).

My favorite class so far is Hot Tapas.  If you've ever taken Bikram I would try Hot Tapas as a comparison.  I would bet you'll prefer the latter.  It's not as hot plus the sequence changes with the season; Bikram's sequences NEVER change.  There is also a fountain in the room which adds humidity.  Bikram's dry oppressive heat is a bit too much for me.

I also have done the Foundations of Flow class with Karen, CoreFlow with Eva and Power Vinyasa with Nikki.    All great classes with excellent instructors.

Breathe has a "homey" feel unlike YogaSource which feels impersonal.

They also seem more community-service oriented, which I love.  For example, they are starting a free weekly yoga class for cancer patients next week.   How cool is that?

After taking a 4 year hiatus from yoga, I recently decided to start practicing again.  I was very hesitant to join a studio because of the commitment and most studios in the area are over crowding their classes.  However, when I walked into Breathe, everything changed!

I love this studio!  Everyone is very friendly, the class sizes are manageable, and the teachers are some of the best in the bay area!  This studio offers a ton of yoga options, recently adding a paddle board yoga class at Vasona (for the summer months)-awesome experience.

I can't say enough great things about Breathe.  I appreciate the simplicity of the studio-it creates a very calming atmosphere and brings the fundamentals of yoga back to the mat.  A workout is great, but I find that very few studios involve the heart in their practice, Breathe does this and it is creating an amazing change in the way I proceed with yoga and all other aspects of my life!

Thanks Breathe team, and Jennifer for creating such a positive vibe to a your studio.

Breathe Los Gatos is a brand spanking new (opened 1/1/11) yoga studio in Los Gatos. Goodbye to the days of dirty, carpet-stained yoga studios. Hello to high ceilings and hardwood floors.

Breathe is exceptional, not only because there are two separate rooms for heated and non-heated yoga. But there are over 55 classes offered each week (vinyasa, power, gentle, aerial, you name it)!

Done with your class? Hang out at the Mandala Tea House for smoothie/coffee/fresh juices. The earl grey latte is amazing!

Jennifer Prugh, the owner of Breathe, really likes to introduce new poses and flows and offers lots of hands-on adjustments throughout the class while gently prodding you to find your edge.

Bottom line: Breathe is a beautiful new studio with attentive and helpful instructors and ample parking.  What are you waiting for?!

And did I mention that the pricing here is more than competitive with the likes of YogaSource (ex: $115 unlimited monthly, no strings attached vs $165 at YogaSource)?

I have been practicing yoga at another studio for over 5 years. Over the years, I became very comfortable with the studio and it's teachers. Many of the teachers have a certain routine, and as a result, I could often times predict the next pose. The teachers almost always  guaranteed a great workout, however, I noticed that my practice began to hit a wall. The classes became more and more crowded which made it very difficult to try out new poses and for the teachers to make adjustments.

I began practicing yoga because it's a great workout, however, I recently realized that I have completely missed out on the spiritual aspect of yoga. I noticed that this new found focus in my practice came from practicing yoga with several different yoga instructors including Jennifer Prugh. At first, I did not fully embrace Jennifer's teaching style because she constantly changed her poses and many of the poses were different from what I was used to. But after taking a few more classes with Jennifer, I learned to appreciate her spontaneity. She is very attentive and constantly helps you push yourself to your limit. I also appreciate the focus on meditation at the end of the class. Even if it's just a few minutes of quiet and calmness, it's still a few minutes more than I would normally have a day.

I was excited to hear that Jennifer was opening her own studio "Breathe" in Los Gatos. I signed up for the $85/ month unlimited yoga membership. This is a deal compared to the $125/ month I used to pay at my other studio. I'm excited about the other offerings including Hot Tapas, Flying Lotus, Soula, and Tai-Chi (just to name a few).

I am happy to call Breathe Los Gatos my new yoga home!

I have practiced at many wonderful yoga studios in the bay area, some of which I have reviewed on yelp.  But I've never actually committed to a monthly "membership" at any one of them because none of them had everything I was looking for.  I've always practiced at several different places.  Not so at Breathe.  For the first time, I've plunked down my credit card for a monthly membership because Breathe offers everything you could want.  Two studios and a wide variety of different classes.  Hot vinyasa, unheated vinyasa, ashtanga, power yoga, yin and -- aerial yoga!!  Aerial yoga is yoga practiced suspended in air supported by a "hammock" like contraption.  It is so fun, you must try it.  The teachers are also top notch.

And, Breathe is a lovely studio and their membership plans are competitive.  Check it out.

Have been going to Breathe, Los Gatos for the past 6 weeks now. Started taking their Fit mamas prenatal classes when I was around 14 weeks and nausea started going down and I have to say I love their classes. Christina Enneking is awesome! The classes are both challenging and refreshing and I have had no back pain, no swollen ankles till now and I'm also gaining only the required amount of weight. I do however do cardio for 30 - 45 mins atleast 5 times a week and try to incorporate doing pilates at home once in a while. I'm hoping to keep going till the very end :)

I just started taking a Prenatal Yoga class at Breathe a couple weeks ago and have been very impressed.  Marti Foster is an excellent teacher and makes you feel instantly relaxed as soon as you step foot into the studio.  I researched different Prenatal yoga classes and this 2pm time slot on Mondays works well for me.  The class is for any level of experience and the brand new Breathe Studio is just superb!  Customer Service is great, atmosphere and amenities are top notch.  I just hope that more woman find out about the class so they don't cancel it.

Lorien is a patient and attentive instructor; she makes gentle adjustments and corrections and provides just enough background without overly chatting everything up. I have learned a lot in the "wellness" class at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays for the past year. There always seem to be just the right amount of people in the class. (I have done yoga for many years, plus Pilates and combo classes; while I do not pretend expertise in yoga, I know that this studio "feels good".)

Breathe Los Gatos is beautifully designed, "green" studio & tea/juice/coffee shop ("Mandala") with plentiful free parking. It is very near highways 85 and 17, in the center with Aldo's restaurant on the corner of Knowles. The facility feels peaceful and clean --- everyone is friendly & helpful. I hope more people discover "Breathe" so it can prosper.

Really enjoyed the hot tapas yoga class this morning and l really liked the lay out of the studio.  I am also a fan of yoga source and would be hard pressed to choose one over the other based on the one class i took at each studio.  Breathe is a little more affordable and is closer to my home.

I cannot say enough about Breathe - it is a wonderful place for yoga and also for yummy smoothies and teas.  The people there always have a smile for you and I've never felt more welcomed.  The teachers are extraordinary too.  I'm an avid student of Jennifer Prugh's and never thought I'd find a teacher I like as much, but I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every class I've taken at the studio. I would recommend the studio for the beginner and the advanced student and anyone in between.

Breathe Los Gatos is by far my favorite yoga studio! When I walked in for the first time, I knew I had found my place for yoga. The space is beautiful and the ambiance is tranquil and soothing. Things have just gotten better and better as I have continued to practice at Breathe. The instructors are wonderful, helpful, knowledgable, and all very different at the same time. The staff is super friendly, and the Tea House is yummy! I recommend the Chocolate Almond Monkey--my very favorite! Just completed the first half of the yoga teacher training here as well, and I could not be happier. Practicing at this studio has made a huge impact on my life, and I am always trying to fit as many classes as I can into my schedule! Thank you, Breathe, for being you, and rocking at it!

Breathe is a spacious and elegant new yoga studio. I found out about this yoga studio through a living social deal. This studio offers a wide variety of yoga classes for people with different level of skills or needs. They have a beautiful reception area next to the in-house tea house/cafe. They also have a roomy lounge area, bathroom with organic bath products and plenty of lockers.  I have taken classes with Kent, Jennifer, Misako and Joanne. All of them were very knowledgeable and compassionate teachers.  There are two yoga rooms. Each of the rooms has its own blocks, straps, bolsters and sand bags. I used to go to yogasource before which I thought has turned into a yoga slum (too many skinny rich people cramped into a limited space). I am happy that at Breathe I have enough space to practice without bumping into the person next to me, having their sweat fall on my mat (disgusting!!).  Last but not the least there is always plenty of parking outside Breathe.  I will renew my membership here once my living social deal ends!
