Review from Ernie L.
Santa Ana, CA
Hello Fellow Yelper's!
I went on opening night to there world premier of:
"W.A.C. Iraq. A work in progress"
Its located at the corner of 5th and Broadway above El Curtido Restaurant.
PARKING DIRECTIONS:
Santa Ana Public Parking Structure (free)
310 N Birch Street Santa Ana, Ca 92701 (between 3rd & 4th Street)
(Shortcut: you may cut thru the small park leading off of Birch street near the Federal Bldg towards 5th Street)
The production was wonderful. A simple staging with wonderfully suggestive lighting suggesting mood and scene. Mixed in nicely with visual effects from a projector and wonderfully supplemental audio track at times subway noises to a beautiful Islamic prayer.
The lobby is small with pictures of past shows and the many awards they have won in there short existence. The atmosphere was fun with the anticipation of a good show mixed with the pleasant feeling of being surrounded by the socially like minded.
The show was passionate and compelling and afterwards the playwright (who flew in from New York) came down from the audience and we had a fun question and answer period. The lobby was filled with salsa's and chips, champaign, cookies, snack cheeses and fruit.
I had a blast, one of the best theater expierences ever. -
