Great food! Breakwater has an extensive (healthy) menu for such a small place. Service was super, friendly & the raw cacao & coconut truffles are to die for!

TERRIBLE Eggs Benedict with waaaay overcooked, rock-solid egg yolks and a (side!?) of pre-bottled, cold, congealed "hollandaise" sauce.

I lived in Mariner's Village for a few months and I ate at Breakwater Bistro all the time. Their breakfast was definitely my favorite, and it's served all day long. My favorite were the huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito. Omelettes were also very good. I especially loved the breakfast potatoes. The burgers are also good. All dishes are made fresh to order with superior ingredients, and you can taste it. Only complaint is that it's a little bit pricey, but I often considered it worth it for the freshness.

Once again, let down by this place. I really try to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another try but this place can't get it together. Today I called ahead for take out and asked if they had specials. She couldn't hear me because the tv was too loud. Then she said they don't have any specials. Whatever, so I went there to pick up my food, right there behind the counter "Daily Specials". Once again, whatever. Went home to eat my fish tacos.....RAW and cold. I've had the kobe burger and thats pretty good. The breakfast panini had tons of cheese ( I thought this place was supposed to be healthy) and a slice of tomato with a huge core in the middle. No seasoning whatsoever. I see the other reviews and maybe its just me but raw fish is where I draw the line.

This friendly small bistro is a life-saver when you don't want to cook or go too far for food.
I've tried these things below and I highly recommend them:
-Roasted Beet Salad - if you're feeling vegetarian or are one, I recommend this salad.
-Vermont Sandwich - tastiest turkey sandwich ever and I never rave about turkey sandwiches! lol (Comes w/ lettuce, tomato, avocado, onion). Get it with a side of sweet potato fries & the aioli sauce!
-Eggs Benedict - great for your Sunday brunch fix.
-Raw jicama salad - healthy and crunchy
-Ube French Toast - *tip, get the sauces/whipped cream on the side. Ube is a purple yam usually used for desert and there's swirls of it in the bread. Comes with berries, syrup & whipped cream. Yum!
-Egg Rolls - yummy with a sweet & sour dipping sauce. A must try.
-Black Angus Gorgonzola Cheeseburger - great if you're having a meat craving!
The service here is great and the people who work here are always so friendly. Such a breath of fresh air compared to the cranky, poor customer service that this place had when it used to be a different deli.
Also, there's free wifi and mini-convenience store extras in case you don't want to go to the grocery store. There's a few bistro tables inside and bar seating. But on a nice day, I recommend sitting on the outside patio seating or you can take your food to the channel or beach.
I also love the convenience that you can order online and have food delivered to you. They also post specials on Twitter, so be sure to check those out. Will definitely be coming back often! -

Breakwater Bistro is amazing. I live in the complex and every day I walk in. They have smiling faces, Starbucks coffee, and consistent service. The place is always spotless and they go out of their way to please people. Its always a pleasant experience.
Their food is really good. I was surprised as most location based cafes are not. I recommend their tacos, eggs Benedict, and their ribeye pizza. Their soups are really good, but can be a bit salty.
All in all, this is my favorite part of Mariners Village and I think everyone should know. :)

Breakwater Bistro is a newly opened cafe located in the Mariners' Village complex in Marina del Rey. They serve an assortment of cafe items from bagels to sandwiches to pizzas as well as smoothies and Starbucks Coffee drinks. It's a cute locale with a very lively orange and green interior, fitting for their signature twist, a selection of organic items and RAW cuisine. I have yet to try the RAW cuisine but I have heard many great things about it.
While not necessarily organic, they also feature Coca-Cola from Mexico in the slim glass bottles made with pure cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It's a cute way to introduce the concept of less processed foods (or drinks) to people who otherwise might not be excited about organic food.
Personally, I had the tuna melt which came in a cute container. The sandwich had a generous portion of tuna and the cheese was nice and gooey, perfect for holding the tuna together. The sandwich came with a slice of tomato on top of a mini-side salad.
The staff was very personable and accommodating and brought your food to you when it was ready.
I am looking forward to eating here more often in the future (especially to try the RAW cuisine) as I have family who live in Mariners' Village. My visit left a strong first impression, 5 stars for a budding new bistro in hopes that it will blossom and provide lots of tasty dining in the future! -

Staff is fabulous and friendly. They serve a variety - from organic greens to burgers and crab cakes. They also have a small selection of raw food. I live in the complex and work at home, so BreakWater cafe is very convenient for me and I really appreciate that they mix it up by featuring a variety of specials.

Yes, we stumbled upon this cute place while looking around for apartments. I couldn't believe they had such a great selection -- and so many healthy tasty treats! LOVED the service and I'm stoked to just learn they have delivery. I am all over that!

There are 3 things I love about Breakwater Bistro:
The incredibly kind and courteous staff
The lovely location in lushly landscaped Mariners' Village
The Gorgonzola Burger with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had
The pepperoni pizza...oops that's more than 3...oh well. AND they deliver! -

The food was delicious, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful and the location is so quaint! Keep in mind that its located within an apartment complex so is a little tricky to find but well worth it. I'll definitely be back :)
