Our group of 6 all enjoyed our breakfast.  wish we would have found this place a day earlier.  The bisquits and gravy are great.  bisquits where moist, as compared to the dry ol bisquits over at the stove.   I had the machaca burrito,  it was fantastic as were the cowboy potatos.  I wish they would have had a fountain soda.  Getting a can of soda and cup of ice was just not right..   They only accept cash!!

I heard this place was supposed to be pretty good. By whos standards?  First of all, it was cold inside. It didn't look very clean..but I take into account that it's near a gas station up in the mountains where it's dirty and often damp.

The service at the counter was very good.  I ordered the omlette with house potatoes since I didn't want standard hash browns but asked that they come crispy but not burnt..that didn't happen.  I'll get back to this momentarily.

There was a choice of toast, biscuit or croissant choice. I went for the croissant which was huge, fresh baked, light, flakey and tasty just how I like it.  That was served first so I thought I just might be amazed at the rest of the breakfast.  When the omlette and potatoes came, my eggs were fresh and hot, but the potatoes were cold like they had been sitting on the side for about an hour (which they probably were).  I called the server over and mentioned they were cold and not how I had asked for them. No problem..he took them back and asked for the cook to make more.  Apparently the message hadn't been received although I clearly heard the server ask for fresh potatoes.  The cook didn't make them so I'm not sure where the miscommunication was.  It was clear as a bell to me and I was sitting right there when he asked.

About 10 minutes later I get an apology and then finally get my potatoes which were half the amount of what I was originally given, they weren't crisped up at all..they were soft but at least it was fresh.  It was even more disappointing that half of that was all diced onion.  When I say half the size of what I had originally, I'm talking about a tiny plate that you put your coffee cup on when you pull that tiny plate out of your cabinet...and that wasn't even a full plate.

It was time to pay the bill and I hand over my debit card and I'm being told....we take 'CASH' only.  OMG..okay I had a $20 spot on me but nowhere was this information posted in that restaurant.  I was told I could use the ATM behind me. UH..not for what that fee is and what my Credit Union would charge.

So there you have it...quite the negative experience just about all around.  The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the omlette and croissant were good.

If in Mammoth you gotta head to this spot for your pre-slope breakfast energy boost.  This place is located in a corner strip mall right on Main and Old Mammoth Rd (next to the gas station).    It is favorite for locals and visitors alike.  It is cash only, but a handy ATM awaits you by the hostess stand.  Portions are large and tasty.  I've done both the breakfast menu and the lunch menu and neither disappointed.  For breakfast I recommend an omelette with home fries, which are pretty darn tasty.  For lunch go ahead and try the Club sandwhich.  The sandwhich is large enough to share and comes with a side. All the ingredients are fresh and the service is prompt and friendly.  If you like cows...you'll appreciate the country decor.

Had enough. The Blonde waitress who works there just does not like un-locals. Went in today and asked if it was cool if I sit anywhere (three tables were taken). She basically said "no, sit at that table."

A minute later, local walks in: "Oh, hey, sit wherever you want, Bob."

I took my food to go. She hasn't changed in years. And, oh, yeah, btw, I happen to be an owner of a local condo. Lest she forget who actually feeds this town? It's the tourists. Get over it! And definitely find less-greasy food, and happy faces, at another restaurant.

Yerrrrm, exactly the breakfast I needed when everyone else had stopped making breakfast already. I got a spinach, bacon, and cheese omelette which was bomb diggity, except there were a bit too thick of spinach chunks at one point.

Hash browns, also good, but pretty standard for a breakfast joint. But at least they were the shredded kind and not those lame potato chunk kind. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they were out of biscuits!! A breakfast necessity. Otherwise the kitschy decor and tons of yummy breakfast options gets a good review from me.

The Good:  Breakfast.....you know it, eggs, pancakes, burritos, and omelets, they have it all.  I usually get a omelet but have tried the breakfast burrito, chocolate chip pancakes and they are all good.  They have awesome muffins and croissants, they are baked fresh and really are nom nom worthy(I hope Misa doesn't have a copyright on the that term).

The Bad:  Don't be like me and dress up for a day on the mountains without any cash because that's all they take here.

The Ben:  They are only open half day for breakfast.  Grab food here and rent your skis/snowboards next door, it's way cheaper than at the resort.

Watch out for their chorizo. It's mixed with salsa and doesn't really resemble what you'd expect. Everything else was average at best. The service was good though. Nice folks.

I'm not much of a breakfast fan, but I love Biscuits & Gravy. I have had it all over the country & even in Canada. I am a bit of an authority on the subject. If the Food Network had a show called "B&G Wars" I'd be a judge.

This morning on our way out of Mammoth, we hit up Breakfast Club. Their Biscuits & Gravy have entered the pantheon of great American B&G. The full order comes with two huge fluffy biscuits that could easy be mistaken for scones. The gravy wasn't the best ever but it definitely didn't detract from the meal.

PHEW... I need to go for a run after eating here, but it's well worth every mile.  I had the Machaca Burrito with home fries.  This thing was a mammoth (does Yelp issue pun-points?), but, to our waitress's surprise, I downed that sucka, cuz it was delicious!  The shredded meat inside the burrito was dripping in the juices that I imagine it simmered in, and each bite melted in my mouth with savory goodness.  The fattiness of the meat was balanced out by the acidity of the salsa verde that was slathered on top of the burrito, and the cheese gave each bite more fat and flavor, as if it needed it.  The home fries were delicious (not surprising considering the homey decor), and they provided nice crunch between bites of the Machaca.

I also had a few bites of the Corned Beef Hash, and, as a life-long lover of the dish, the first thing I noticed was the use of whole chunks of corned beef, rather than the shredded or mushed stuff.  Not enough restaurants do their corned beef this way, but they should.  It preserves the texture and the flavor of corned beef.  I'm afraid too many people may be surprised the first time they have real corned beef because they are familiar with the stuff that comes in a can.  The Breakfast Club's corned beef is crispy on the outside with tender pieces of corned beef inside; everything you WISH your corned beef was.

The biscuits and gravy is deadly.  As the flaky biscuits and peppery/creamy gravy dance on your intoxicated taste buds, its hard to remember that what you are eating is just fat and carbs.  Those who are health conscious should resist temptation to avoid becoming addicted to this dish.  However, health aside, this is a delicious treat.

Bottom line:  Food like this contributes to American obesity, mostly because it's so good.  I'm glad I don't live in Mammoth... I'd be eating here until I was bedridden, at which point I would ask if they deliver.

The quiche is one of the best I've tasted! Not much of a pastry person but if you are I heard they're freshly made.

A good load of carb before a long trek is pretty much the intention when we went to check out this place.

They did not disappoint! An order of quiche with a side of hash browns was actually too much for my shy belly. Not!  I really just wanted to concentrate on the awesome quiche! Try it! Be a member of the club!

I'm only in mammoth once or twice a year but I always look forward to eating here.  It starts off as nostalgia with 80s music playing in the background and quotes of the movie going through my head.  The aroma of hearty country size breakfasts before you.  Its just tasty way to start off your day.  Gotta have a full belly to hit the slopes hard.  This is the place to start it off on the right foot.

For lunch or happy hour see the whiskey creek? I think thats the name.. good times ill promise you that.

So my friends and I had a 3 day mini vacay in Mammoth so of course we needed to eat we use yelp to find the best places to eat and breakfast club was highly reviewed and recommended.

The service was not the greatest and there was only one server.

Between the four of us we ordered the following:
Lean hot pastrami- it was too salty
    Bear claw-  not good
Machaca burrito- this was a fairly large sized burrito my husband had to take it to go, it was very yummy filled with lots of shredded beef they definitely did not shiest on meat.
Spanish omelet- so so typical spanish omelet with salsa, eggs, and cheese

Best thing on menu that gave this place 3 stars was the biscuits and gravy if you come here you have to order biscuits and gravy.  They served a massive biscuit and the gravy was really tasty.

Came here on a Monday morning and had multigrain pancakes with blueberries. I get pancakes everywhere so I kinda consider myself an authority on the topic. These cakes were bomb... light, fluffy, with a bit of cinnamon, fresh berries in the batter and also served on top.  I was pretty full 2/3 of the way through, but have no regrets about eating the entire short stack. Yum.

My gentleman caller had eggs and bacon with hash browns and toast. OMG hash browns! So good!  Seasoned to such deliciousness that you don't want to ruin it with ketchup. Bacon was thick cut and cooked just right- not overdone at all. He kindly gave me a piece and a half. What a keeper.

This was my last meal in Mammoth this year. I was sad about leaving town, but at least this breakfast kept me going till Adelanto.

They say it takes two weeks to create a habit, and I've bested that. It took me three days. It's Saturday morning, back from Mammoth and the thing I'm going to miss most is something we did three times while there--going to the Breakfast Club, trying not to overstuff myself (BreakFeast Club), and getting on the mountain. "I want to go to the breakfast club!!" I shouted to the world, Saturday morning. Such is life.

The pastry display will likely be the first thing to greet you (see photo of muffin) and usually you are allowed to order one of these with your meal as a bread option, it's true!

Two days I ordered the Baja scramble with egg whites, which was oozing with jack cheese and green chiles. I asked them if they could use cooking spray instead of butter, with which they were very happy to oblige. I was amazed by this, it was so refreshing to not be told no. The staff was always prompt, cheery, and obliging. Coffee and water are self-serve so you never run out!! I LOVE THIS!

A different day I had a waffle with bananas and pecans, which was more of a fluffy waffle than a crispy waffle, and I smothered it in the room temp butter that is provided and used a drop of the (not real) syrup.

Forget anywhere else for breakfast...even the pastries are amazing. The croissants are soooo, soooo buttery. Not just bready lumps like some bakeries in the Basin (Erick Schat's, for instance). For breakfast in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, the Club beats the shit out of Schat's.

First time at this breakfast place and the wait was only 15 min for our party of 8! But, it was snowing ...hard! That made our 15 min wait feel like 45 min. :(

The inside was very cozy, kind of like grandma's house. You could see and smell the muffins and pastries from the display window. They have this cute cow motif going on, very cute! This place is definitely busy and they pack people into whatever room they have available. Our party of 8 was stuffed into maybe a 6-7? person table.

The menu was typical breakfast goodies. They have several items that have a Mexican twist on them. And the prices are decent. I ordered a omelet with avocado, turkey, and jack cheese. It came with a muffin and hash browns. My sister order their half stack (2) chocolate pancakes. The omelet was very tasty, with their hash browns cooked perfectly. The pancakes were huge!!!! One pancake was the size of a plate. My sis was only able to finished half of a half stack= 1 pancake. Everything on the menu looked pretty good! Definitely hit the spot after playing in the snow all weekend.

Oh and this place only takes cash. This might be a bummer for some of your guys, but they have one of those little ATM machines inside. Definitely some hearty food to make you feel all warm inside! :)

Came here for brunch. The biscuit and gravy were delicious. We weren't going to get that but saw another table get it so decided to and it was a fantastic choice. We also got champagne which was $15.

The waiters/waitress were very friendly and they even have pictures of themselves on the table. I got a burrito with shredded beef and that itself was amazing as well. It was too big for me to finish but this is definitely one of the best brunch places I've been to. The portions and prices were very reasonable. The weird thing was taking the bus to get here.. got off at stop 11 which dropped us off pretty far from this place so we had to walk. Not very good when it's snowing and cars coming by pretty fast. I would definitely come back again.

Solid breakfast option in the morning.  But service is not quick or dirt cheap.  Still great tasting with good coffee.  I'd come back again if I had time in the morning.

The interior is definitely quaint with the excessive dairy cow theme, homey wallpaper table cloths.

I got a Denver scramble and homefries potatoes.  I thought I asked for hashbrowns, but I'm glad i ended up with the homefries because they were perfectly grilled with green and red peppers and green onions.  The Denver scramble was good too, kinda hard to screw up tho.

The coffee was good too, a smooth blend.  Had to wait and ask for a refill tho.  Eventho it was a busy Sunday morning, service could have been a tad better.

CASH ONLY!  CASH ONLY!  CASH ONLY!

Prices were mostly $7-9 for breakfast entree.  $1.99 for coffee.

The Breakfast Club is hands down my favorite place to eat in Mammoth Lakes.  Overly generous portions, great service, fantastic baked goods!  Best blueberry muffins ever!    They have a new Lunch menu, my kidlet had an avocado sammich and loved that also!

Comfortable atmosphere and if you like cows, you will udderly love this place too!

Thanks to the reviewers for pointing out the breakfast burrito, even though that's what I would've ordered anyhow.  Pretty darn good burrito.

The stove often seems full of little ones, but this is really the spot for little ones. A lot more space in and around the tables and there are a ton of cows on display that serve as pretty good distractions.

We could not get into The Stove *25 minute wait on a Friday morning* and so while driving down a street stopped at Breakfast Club feeling like Molly Ringwald. Was shocked the parking lot was not packed as I got in to see many tables filled. CASH only!!! Good thing I had some to avoid the ATM machine standing next to the CASH ONLY sign. Who wants a service charge of a couple of bucks, right?
Nice waitress! I had to try a few items. Did not care that much for the chocolate chip pancakes. The bean and cheese burrito was decent. Home fries did not get me to sink my fork into them. Maybe my mouth was just not feeling breakfast at this place. So-so...don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Did get full on the few bites of this and that.

I feel slightly guilty only putting 3/5 stars up for this place considering I loved the food, but its probably warranted.

The wait was quasi lengthy, but I suppose that was to be expected with the large amount of people in town for New Year's. They only take cash, but there's an ATM right there in the corner. Luckily, I'm a BofA customer (and come to think of it, a BofA employee as of 2009!) so the ATM fee was waived.

After our wait was over, we moved into the next room to be seated, thankful to be out of the uber stuffy and cramped waiting area. However, the place is quite small so seating arrangements didn't feel much different from milling around in the waiting area.

Waitress seemed somewhat spacey and confused. My lady ordered a meal with blueberry pancakes, but asked for no additional blueberries on the top. For whatever reason, this was an impossible request for the waitress, and in the end, just a waste of blueberries. At least the drinks came out quickly. Unfortunately, the waitress managed to spill a fair amount of my orange juice down my back and arm. Splendid.

    As for the food:
One of the better breakfast burritos I have ever had. I don't know whether it was the ranchero sauce that was on top of it or the hash browns on the side, but DAMN was that meal satisfying. Everyone else's meals looked appetizing as well.

I'm sure I'll end up back here again. The food was great and hopefully the service will be better next time.

2 stars because Breakfast Club did not make me happy like the John Hughes 1980s classic, but instead made me sad and food poisony.

Someone else talked about some WTF corned beef hash here ... I second that.  Not sure what it was, some sort of attempt at an alien dish from Star Trek.

Sometimes you have to wait way too long.  The food costs too much and tastes too crappy.

Maybe people just like this place for the name and pretend it's not terrible.  Maybe they should name it after a bad 80s film that also has the name breakfast in it ... maybe there are none.

This is the place to go for breakfast goods made with flour ie pancakes, waffles, and biscuits!  The biscuits here are the BOMB.COM!  I am a professional baker myself and I have never been able to achieve that wonderful craggy crust on the biscuit.  It must be a drop biscuit rather than a rolled biscuit but either way they are some of the best biscuits I have ever had.  A half order of biscuits and gravy was good enough for me because the biscuit was the size of a bread and butter plate. The gravy was average but oh the biscuit!  My friends got omelets which were average. The service was mediocre.  We wanted some extra salsa and sour cream but gave up as the server passed our table numerous times but failed to grab his attention. The breakfast potatoes were decent but if you are going to Breakfast Club skip the eggs and get the biscuits or any of the baked goods like the cinnamon roll or bear claw!  Oh and it's cash only.

I ate breakfast here on my way to Tahoe.  I was hoping to eat something quick to get on the road early but my friends wanted to sit down and eat.

I ordered the Quiche Lorraine and it included a side of hash browns.  The hash browns are really good.  They came out crunchy and had a bit of a tang.  Add a little tabasco and they were love.   The quiche was really good and had a good flavor throughout.  I didn't finish eating my quiche and it was quickly taken by a friend of mine who I had given a piece to earlier, haha.

A friend of mine ordered multigrain pancakes with bananas.  When they brought out the pancakes, I thought the the side of bananas meant just for a topping.  I was wrong.  He gave me a piece and they put the bananas in the batter as well!  These were really good. I would probably order these next time I went there.  I ate them plain so I could only imagine how great these would taste with butter and a bit of syrup.

They also give you a water jug to fill up your own water!  nICE!

    I will be back!

Nothing feels better after a day of snowboarding then a nice hearty breakfast. This place defiantly hits the spot. The minute you walk in you know this isnt a chain restaurant.

I had the chili omelet and french toast. Both were very delicious, the chili seemed to be homemade as advertised.

Only thing i didnt like was it's cash only. They had an ATM inside, but it was out of service.

This is the best breakfast place in Mammoth.  Its got a down-home, country cafe vibe.  The pancakes, omlettes and breakfast burritos, and especially anything from their bakery is great.  But they only take cash, thats the only bad thing.  Once I didn't have cash, my ATM card was lost and I could not pay for my meal.  All I had was a credit card.  I talked to the Manager and promised to mail the cash.  She grudgingly accepted and gave me the business card with the address.  1 week later I mailed in double what I owed for my breakfast.  I ski, so me and my friends go there early like 7am before hitting the slopes.  Great place, great food.   Just be sure to bring cash.

Found this place in one of the tourist menu magazines for Mammoth. It was a cute restaurant with all the cow memorabilia.

I had the corned beef hash, since I was missing it from where I normally go in SF. Well, not sure what was in it...don't want to know, but it sure didn't taste the way I expected it to taste. I don't recommend it, unless you are feeling adventurous.

Had the hash browns, and that was good. (I love hash browns from time to time). If I come back, I'll order double the hash browns & something else.

My boyfriend had the french toast. They looked a bit dry. He didn't say if he liked them or not, so I think he thought they were just ok.

    Service was ok.

What a break from resort price gouging at Mammoth.

We got here at around 7 am and were seated. Coffee was hot, strong, and quick to the table. As others have said there is cow stuff everywhere.

We got two orders of pancakes and the short stack as easily enough for 2 people and a kid. We probably had over a full serving left on each plate. To call the proportions huge would be an understatement.

The side of bacon was also perfectly cooked, not burnt, but crispy.

    All this for $17!!

Great food at a great price.

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning a couple weeks ago while we were in town for Bluesapoolza.  We arrived around 8am and it was pretty full and we waited about 15 minutes for a table.  The dining room is decorated like an old farmhouse.

Our server greeted us fairly quickly despite the crowd.  She was pretty nice, but busy and kept telling us she was going to come back and refill our coffee like 3 times before she finally did.  We just laughed and waited until she finally brought some.  I didn't like the coffee that much anyway.

I had an omelet (can't remember which one) and a blueberry muffin.  The hubby had eggs and ham and a homemade biscuit with a side of gravy.  The portions are ginormous and we could have easily split something.  His biscuit with gravy was enough for a meal as well!

I wasn't blown away by the place, but I'm not sure what else Mammoth has to offer for a sit-down breakfast.  I'd prefer just getting something at Schat's Bakery in the future.  The coffee at Schat's is definitely better.

Great selection of items. Best hash browns Period.

Beware of the ninja stealth skills of the coffee waiter. I was only able to block 47 of the 50 refills attempted. That left me "fixing" my coffee/sugar/creamer ratio three times. Annoying for just one cup of coffee.

Once you're done, sometimes it's difficult to get your check.

Yeah, and the cash only deal sucks.

    Friendly service and decent omelettes.

Portions are rather large and there usually is a wait.  They have tons of fresh pastries so if you feel like just grabbing a muffin or something, you can just pop in and buy it at the counter.

I'd like to give Breakfast Club 4 stars just cuz Mammoth lacks much selection.  Located next to the Shell station - next, as in literally your view is the parking lot and gas pumps - Breakfast Club is also next door to Shilo Inn.  Overall, very convenient for most people to get to.

Decor is very kitschy - the place is enamored with anything cow/bull oriented.  Random pics and pamphlets are next to the menu, which are pressed under the glass table top.

Prices are kinda high, but vacation-reasonable.  For our frequency of trips to Mammoth, I wouldn't justify eating here every trip.  For our two breakfasts, no drinks, was about $22 total.  Not high, but not McD's either.

FOOD:  We were both very pleased and VERY full!!!
    - I ordered Huevos Rancheros w/shredded beef.  I have to admit it was a helluva rancheros dish!  Almost as perfect as ones in Mexico!  Sauce was nice and flavorful, a tad tangy from the tomato.  Served on a large skillet dish, I was full only 1/3 of it in.
    - DH's Three Eggs meal was huge and the potatoes were delish!
    - The complimentary hugmongous biscuit was the worst thing on the table.  Salty, dry, and hard.  Took one bite and wanted nothing else to do with it.  Luckily, it didn't cost us a cent.

I've been a customer of the Breakfast Club for many, many years. The food is solid. The staff is friendly but service has always been mediocre, especially when they're busy.

The muffins are very good and I often take one to go in order to snack on during my hikes.

Its probably the only breakfast place that most casual visitors to Mammoth know but there are other places to eat. I find it a bit pricey for what you get but it's a known quality and consistent and of course has the muffins. It will get my breakfast nod a couple of times a year if it's not busy.

Not super cheap, small tables, bit of a wait on a Friday morning (15-20 min), really great/friendly service!

I got the humongous biscuit and gravy order which had to be finished by the guys (better get the half order as 1 biscuit is about 2 servings and it comes with 2) this was ok, I was not so impressed with the gravy flavoring...and a side of waffle with strawberries yum..the waffle was huge as well.  :)

Love the Machaca!!  Talk about a healthy (as in big) serving.  Packed with lots of meat and wonderful spices.  The service is always nice and the food consistently good.

I was expecting a comfort-food type of place, but it was far from it. I had pancakes and eggs and I've made better pancakes in my own darn kitchen!! The service was horrible too. They were quick on the coffee but other than that, there just wasn't a good vibe with the staff.

It's a small place so if there's a line, i'd go elsewhere. The only redeeming factor was that it was within walking distance from our motel.

Ooh, but their hash browns were good! You could taste the butter in it, but I guess that's what makes it good right?

I wouldn't come back...unless there was nothing else and i was starving.

This place is a great spot for breakfast but beware it's cash only. We tried the chorizo burrito and sliders. Both very decent

Good food for a decent price. I was in town for some spring snowboarding and it seemed that the veteran staff had left already. The service was slow.

There is a lot of cow paraphernalia. That's a plus if that's what your into.

After a long week of skiing taking a morning off and gorging yourself on a great breakfast is amazing. There food is high quality with very large portions. The bacon stood out the most it was so thick and cooked perfectly. I loved that they just gave us a huge pitcher of water so we could refill our own drinks. The decor was a little vomit inducing, I don't care for the all the country and cows everywhere. But based on food all 3 guys I came with left full and happy!
