Review from Lauren V.
Door: A $6 cover charge for a cover band?! AND I have to be branded with that skanky Sharpie that had already accumulated 100 hands worth of germs? Gross. The band better be decent.
Bar Service: Quick and a bit sterile. Since I wasn't there to chat the bartender this setup worked well for me. (Could also be because it was a Saturday night.)
Drinks: My Blue Moon was a little bit warm and the orange was slightly bitter. Like it hadn't been washed. But my Stella Artois was fine. And they were cheap (by Boston standards at least).
Floor: Sticky as hell. You will literally put down roots. I thought I was going to have to sacrifice my fave flats to get out of this place but I was able to summon the strength to lift my leg after a few failed attempts.
Bathrooms: Forget about it. Hold it in. Dig a hole out back. Pee your pants. These bathrooms are disgusting. Water (I think!) all over the floors. Sopping wet wads of toilet paper cling to the walls and adorn the nasty floors. This is the kind of bathroom where washing your hands makes you feel more dirty. Bring hand sanitizer. And a Porta Potty.
People: Definitely a local hangout. My boyfriend waited in trepidation for the inevitable we-were-barely-acquaintances-in-highschool-but-OMG -what are-you-doing-back-heres to start.
Extras: There are pool tables, darts and some video games. The area around the stage is very open and allows for dancing if that's your thing. The music was surprisingly un-offensive, it was borderline enjoyable. There is outdoor seating, which was more of an outdoor smoking area by the time we got there. Also I guess there are not a lot of taxis in W. Springfield because just about everyone pounding drinks at the bar fumbled for their keys at closing time and then drove home. Awesome.
