My husband and I have been to Breakers Lounge in the clock tower shopping center in Herndon several times. Some nights they have karaoke on a large stage with all the flashing disco lights and the whole nine yards. It is a blast. Other nights they have poker tournaments and the winner wins $30 cash. It is free to play. They also have dart boards and pool tables. The upstairs is where the pool tables are but it is a smoking allowed area and can be nasty. Happy hour has $1.00 beers until 9:00 pm so you can't beat the price. All in all I like the place.

We went to Breakers Sky Lounge the other night and had a great time. The Johnny Artis Band was playing and the music was outstanding!! The place is very large with plenty of room for dancing. The bartender was really nice and service was great. I like the fact that they have Karaoke some nights. I also saw that they play poker on some nights too. My friends and I will definitely be going back.

I am basing this review off my husband's good time going there last night without me for a boy's night out. He enjoyed their power hour and shots a little too much as they were celebrating a coworker brother's birthday. He said he enjoyed a burger there for dinner and it was really good. Also it was a funny night as Thursday nights are karaoke night. Nothing like being a drunk foot making fun of the other drunk fools.

I used to come here all the time... This is a decent place to hang out with friends and shoot some billiards. However, it's best to stay away from this place on Friday and Saturday nights because they typically charge an arm and a leg for the pool tables themselves and for drinks. It is also worth pointing out that the staff has high turnover and that this place sort of attracts a questionable crowd at times.. other than that... I don't mind coming here and grabbing some beers every now and then... it's just not my favorite place to do so.

Its a very unique experience to be playing pool on the fourth floor of Herndon Clocktower. Very picturesque but its better if you just look out the window. Although staff is attentive, they lack personality. Food presentation is average, food taste is good. Music can get too loud and clientele too rowdy, but hey its a pool hall. I think we need to see a more upscale pool hall in our area. Breakers has this ability to be very unique and stand out from the crowd especially in the business district of Herndon.

Pretty good!!!
Four of us headed there with low expectations from reading the reviews...since the smoking ban, came into effect 1 Dec.; we have been looking for a place where the men could still smoke their cigars...and yep, Breakers is the only place right now (Reston, Herndon) where it's still possible since they have 2 separate areas. The smoking section can best be described as their attic area, through the door and to the left upon entering. Once upstairs, there is a small bar, a sofa area and a couple tables spattered in front of the pool tables.
Service: not good at first, but Ben came out to wait on us and he was FANTASTIC...very personable and attentive...
Food: tried the chicken tenders and nachos and cheesy garlic bread,,,for a bar; not bad! Not great, but fine if you have a hankering for the munchies...
Drinks: Selection was okay, make sure you scope out the downstairs bar first, as they have just started to use the bar (for the smokers) upstairs so it isn't stocked as well as it is downstairs.
The place overall is LARGE, and there is alot to keep you occupied, a dance floor with stage for karaoke and bands, pool tables, video machines, darts, etc...but there weren't too many folks there so the place looked 90% empty downstairs...but still a good time and we will definitely be back quite often.... -
Review from Ateet A.
This place is a strange mix of a billiards pool hall with a very stocked bar, a wannabe club, karaoke nights, and a fancy name "Sky Lounge" that give you the intention that is going to be some cool Vegas venue. They do have good pool tourneys and the tables are nice so will give them props there, they even know how to mix drinks at the bar. They lack in their food, so don't waste your money on the food and eat before you come. Its your typical bar food but not good. They do have a very large dance floor(not sure for what) as they do not get packed at all, and then a very amazing light show as if they were a real club. I think they should invest less in ligthing and more in venue improvement and marketing. It has potential, its a very large venue, just a little old/rundown. Their karaoke nights used to be kind of successfful until Chics and Wings opened up in the shopping center up one block and now most people go there. Not sure what to think of this place. I would go to play pool and drink but thats about it.

**Why We Chose this Place?: I am addicted to Bar Trivia AKA NTN. For locations near you go to http://www.buzztime.com
**Location: Next to the Clocktower. Next to Gold's Gym just around the corner from Verizon thru a door & up the elevator to the fourth floor.
**First Impressions: WOW! Huge! Clean. So much to do. A pool tournament was taking place so most of the patrons were there. A gentleman was playing guitar to a seating area that had no patrons. A long bar, where most seats were taken. Many Dart boards along one wall.
**Guitarist/Singer: Great Acoustic Guitar Player. Great Voice. Songs included Freebird, Time of Your Life, Margaritaville, What's Going On, & James Taylor Hits among others.
**Suggestion: Improve the Microphone or ?? We couldn't always hear his voice and we wanted to hear him more clearly. :-D
**Trivia: We were the only 2 that played. My husband and I sat at the end of the bar where we were directed to sit. The manager produced 2 playmakers and turned on the game.
**Prices & Fare: Happy Hour 4:00- 8:00- $4 appetizers I had the steak Quesadilla. It was very good. My husband had the Wings. A Dozen for $6.50. They came in different flavors. He got the extra hot. He said they were 'Good'. Other appetizers on the $4 menu: Potato Skins, Jalapeno Poppers, Mozzarella Sticks, & Chicken Quesadillas. We were told that Happy Hour Drinks were domestic draft for $3. We drank Coors Light. The glasses were 22oz. & Frosty. Power Hour is from 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Domestic Bottles are $1.
**Service: Mediocre. Our bartender, Sarah, didn't tell us about the other drinks on Happy Hour. Rail Drinks were also $3. Rail Drinks = Well Drinks. She served us. We got our drinks. She checked back on us from time to time. We needed extra napkins with the wings. We waited a bit until I found some nearby. Overall, she gets a C.
**Husband's Remark: "Lots of Men"
**Traveling From Out of State?: VA is a smoking state. Smoking is allowed in bars.
**Would we return?: YES, without a doubt.
**Day that we were there: Tuesday, Oct. 27th, 2009
**Seasonal: Costume Contest on Halloween.
**Customers: Ages 21-40s, casual attire thru business attire.
**Other Happenings at Breakers Sky Lounge:
Wed./Thursday: Karaoke @ 9PM.
FRI: DJ RIZZO @ 9:00 (No Cover)
SAT: Live Bands @ 10 PM (No Cover)
SUN: Free Pool All Day. -

Herndon, VA
Sorry Breakers, but this place is not happening. It's located on the 2nd floor of a shopping strip - elevator ride. Upon entering, you get a whiff of the smoking area, which is located on the 2nd floor of the establishment.
This place is dead, the food was typically frozen bar food, the dance floor was a ghost town and the bartenders smile, but have no personalities. Hit up Ned Devine's instead, but expect to pay a cover there! -

It's Friday night and there's no one here. Also not a good sign when the fries are the best appitizer. Here for a work happy hour and the10 of us make up half of the customers. Needless to say there are better places to be and if it wasn't for the company we'd be gone already.

First time here to attend a Birthday Party for a friend weeks ago, it was fun and lively. Did not feel the pinch on the expenses of beer and food it was taken care of the celebrant. Skylounge(Smoking Lounge), did not bother to go up since I quit smoking years ago. Music blaring you can feel the vibration or the base from the speakers . Meet some odd and interesting people on the dance floor but not totally weird or lewd. Food was good and decent and replace every 30 mins. to put some more food. So far it was ok and decent probably back here just to grab some drinks.

Maybe it was my lucky night, but the Wings were HUGE. The beer was cheap, and she didnt charge me for sodas. We saw a live band, ate, and drank all night for $35 bucks including tax and tip. Its Big, Clean, Vaulted ceilings, and not crowded. Loved it.

Herndon, VA
This place is a lot of fun. Not the best bar I've ever been to, but in a town like Herndon, it's hard to find any other better solutions. Drinks are always strong (+) and specials are great (+). I enjoy this bar. The downstairs portion is huge, meaning a lot of space to actually walk around or talk to friends/coworkers. However, this area usually looks completely dead, as opposed to the smoking section upstairs which is always packed. Don't judge it based on the non-smoking section that looks like a ghost-town. Management is generally non-existant from what I've seen, and I've never tried the food.
