Review from Kimberly C.
Oakland Gardens, NY
I've been ordering breakfast and lunch here for over a year and I don't have many complaints. Their sandwiches are good if you know which ones to order. I usually order the italian sandwich (not the best I've had but definitely does the job), or the mushroom, mozzarella, pesto, and sundried tomato vegetarian panini (which is my fave from there). Their fat free scallion cream cheese bagel is good as well. I've also gotten their muffins- no complaints.
I do love their carrot & apple juice, although it's pretty expensive for its size. All in all it's decent food and fairly large portions. -

I was happy that something was open at 5:30 AM that wasn't Starbucks. I had a bagel with cream cheese and coffee that was pretty tasty. The bagel was a bit on the skimpy side and was toasted in a panini press. Why???
Aside from the stripes on my bagel, it was actually good, which isn't surprising since the neon on the front window proclaims that everything is baked at the shop. -

Wonder bread with slimy meat. Sandwich fail.
Iceberg lettuce and soggy tomatoes. Salad fail.
And if I wanted to eat at a table that hasn't been wiped down in days, I'd do it in my own damn kitchen. -

Convenient little breakfast/lunch places on Bleecker and Christopher in the Village. Cheap and good cookies too. But be warned: saw a cockroach-like creature crawling up the wall behind the counter. Order at your own risk.

It's hard to screw up a cupcake too badly, but give this place credit -- they've found a way.

Used to pick up some fabulous apple tarts / pies here. Recently I picked one up, thinking it would taste the same but sad to report that the standards have dropped. New chef? bad shipment of apples? The apple pies had the tangy pineapple-pie-like texture and didn't taste at all good. Used to be able to finish a small pie over a weekend but it was a challenge this time.
Listed in: $5 meals...

Great place for the unfancy. Not the best of anything, but sometimes it's nice not to be in a super formulated atmosphere. Sandwich served it's purpose: big, filled me up, and wasn't gross.

Fortunately this extremely lousy -- but very conveniently located in the heart of Greenwich Village -- and dirty and mean-spirited dive is now permanently closed. Good riddance -- though I hate to see ANYTHING close in the current economy, this place deserved failure much sooner than it arrived.

Seriously, I wish there were no stars or negative stars. I know I write some critical stuff. I do not do it to people that make an effort at customer satisfaction. I wish I had written more positive stuff so I don't seem all negative. That being said, THIS PLACE SUCKS!!! Sunday afternoon I go to get some treats for my 76 year old Mom. I get her a slice of Chocolate Fudge cake and 16 assorted cookies. EVERYTHING WAS STALE. Not slightly stale, not mildly stale. I know about food cost. I appreciate some business's cannot bake fresh daily, but this is clearly a case of push it until it is gone. I swear I feel like I just got stuck up and part of me wants to go back and beat someones ass; another part of me doesn't want to get arrested today.
