My tires was flat and pull into the convenient location and ask for help. The nice guy name Andrew have me checked the tire to see if it can be repaired. He took his time to point out the sidewall overheated beyond repair to safe conditions , and told me I drove it too long flat and the tire was damage, but he offered to install my spare tire on, since I was in a hurry to go somewhere. I will confidently come back here for any service needs later.

Dear yelpers. I am not the first and not the only person who mentioned that this person is RUDE and does indeed raise his voice when talking to customers( check out other reviews) i stopped communicating with this person via private means after he compared my situation to some "bringing your own chicken to a restaurant and the owners cook it for you etc etc" i guess after me mentioning the price which i was charged( which i did to remind him that i indeed was in there, mentioned the car model and the service that i had received) all to explain that i have indeed been here. None of this stink would explode if he did not choose to contact me and accuse me of being a LIAR and threatened to get me removed from yelp. And later said he would get police involved. Was he rude? Yes he was.
Now he hates my review, and wants it removed, but , this is called first amendment right, Mrs staley or andrew. After your first message where you said the review was false and threatened to get me removed(wtf?) i had absolutely no desire to satisfy your demands. Yah, you indeed TOLD me to get you the receipt, maybe you should've asked me in a nicer manner and i would bring it to you personally, thank you for changing your ways, communicating with me in a nice, professional manner and even change my review or update it with a follow up. NEVER HAPPENED. Maybe I am harsh in choosing words in my this or other reviews, but I am honest. Dont you dare calling me a liar.
He wants me give him my real name and the name on that receipt, but i am scared for my safety. I don't feel comfortable letting this person know who I am as receipt contains my contact information. Would you? I am a girl and i am home alone most nights. And after communicating with this man here and via private messages, I am not completely sure he would not show up at my doors trying to prove his point or break my neck if he finds out who i am and where i live.
Anyway, i didn't want to continue talking to him after he said he read my other reviews, i was Not nice and rude and said he wants me have a good life(absolutely irrelevant and wtf my life has anything to do with the subject of discussion?)
Oh and by the way, the examples he listed has nothng even to do with me. I have been there once and only time, have no reason to retaliate like he said about a busted car. Keep guessing stanley, but dont you dare sending me threats2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

I'm not sure about their brake service, but don't rent u-hauls from them. I was over charged and they did nothing to help, the guy was pretty rude over the phone and wouldn't adjust the charge at all. I dropped the u-haul off the same day and was charged an extra day along with an extra charge for the dolly.
I would rent from the u-hauls in Pacifica and San Bruno, both would be much better choices. Just look at the website and it will show you the address and choices, but stay away from here. Honest work and outstanding results!!!!
Thanks Brakes Plus! You guys never disappoint.
I brought my old car here twice to change the front and rear brakes, Andrew had finished quickly and was very accomodating when I had to pick my car later in the afternoon. I recommend this place to several of my friends and the couple that bought my car.
Recently, my truck was brought here for some weird transmission problem. I was totally scared that I would have to spend a gazillion dollars to repair this problem....Andrew took his time to nail down the exact problem and found the solution!!!! I liked that he didn't rush to buy parts but really wanted to investigate further to find an unlikely case to my problem...saved me money!!!! I love you Brakes Plus!
After all the times my car got services...they were smooth.
Come here for your service needs because you are guaranteed customer satisfaction :) -

Thank God my mom's been a long time customer. She's been bringing both her cars here for years now. Instead of bringing my car to Honda like I normally do, I decided to try them out.
Andrew over there has been great both times I brought my car in. He gives me the real deal straight to the point facts about what he can do for me. I also learned that he has a good relationship with the service department at Honda in Colma so he was able to pick up a part my car needed and install it himself for much cheaper. That avoided me having to pay some of those expensive prices that Honda quotes!

I have been taking my cars to Brake Plus for the past 8 years and these guys are very honest. Andrew is a straight to the point type of guy who doesn't pressure you about getting work done with him. I always got my cars back working with no problems.
Mechanics are expensive in general but with Brake Plus you will get quality work done right in a timely manner. -

So having car troubles and don't know who to trust?
Been there. Did that. Bought the shirt... then went to Brake Plus.... Andrew and his peeps were so helpful since my little Hi Ho Silver was in need of a new radiator, (I knew he seemed a little too thirsty a little too often) but Andrew fixed and little Hi Ho Silver was up and riding again...
Then Hi Ho gall-upped down the wrong street late at night and broke his rim I mean hoof. I was devastated to find that his rim had to go... Andrew helped me search for another one but the rim was exactly like horse shoes are one of a kind. So even though Andrew advise the safe parent route of getting a similar looking rim to keep my cost low. I had to make sure Hi Ho had 4 good looking rims instead of 3... so I ordered gun mental rims online. *Don't judge cause Hi Ho is packing (it's hard out here for a pimp)
So then Andrew was nice enough to have the rims delivered to the shop and notified me when they were finally in and finally Hi Ho Silver was able to ride off into the sunset in no time. Thanks Brake Plus!!! -

I've been going to Brake Plus for a few years now. It's much more convenient than going to a dealership's garage. Not only are they a auto shop, but they also do smog and now offer tire service. They also are the only garage I know of that offers nitrogen inflation of tires.
Andrew is very forthcoming and the prices are reasonable. -

Andrew and Louis is two best mechanics I have known for 7 years, very HONEST and great to deal with. Very detail and they know what they are doing. I was sick and tired of other mechanics messing around with my car and telling me I needed to work on something when there was NOTHING WRONG in the first place. If you have this problem?! You won't have that if you go to Brake Plus!

Came for a drop in smog and it took over an hour, but I don't blame them as there were other cars and they only have 1 machine. I sat in the waiting room where there are a good selection of magazines and chairs. However, sitting in there allowed me to see how the asian technician (not the owner, Andrew) interacted with other customers. The technician tends to really raise his voice when talking to other people as if he was annoyed or something. There was this man that came to return his U-Haul truck and equipment, and he couldn't find the "contract" for the equipment, and immediately the technician started to raise his voice just because the man couldn't remember, which U-Haul he rented his items. Luckily, the girl behind the computer was able to locate the correct U-Haul. So, was it really necessary to raise your voice to your customers?

Brake Plus is by far the best auto repair shop I've ever been to. They have great prices and quick service. They also have a Test Only Smog shop right next door. The owner, Andrew, is always very friendly and helpful. He will tell you up front what your car needs and will not try to BS you into getting unnecessary things done to your car. Fair priced and honesty, that's rare gem in the auto repair industry.

Omg. This place sucks! First, when I called to confirm my Uhaul reservation, the guy answered the phone with an informal HELLO, making me think I called the wrong number. I called the place 3x in one week confirming my reservation then when I went there to pick up the truck, the guy at the counter was rude and unhelpful! He answered his cell phone first before he finished my transaction! Idiot. I would NEVER go this place for anything! Whether it's for Uhaul needs or getting my car fixed. U need a good mechanic ? Go to John at Hondeville in San Mateo instead. He's worth the drive, believe me!

They always ready to help your car troubles. Very experienced about imports and domestic cars. Fixed my timing belt, always go to them for oil changes. Plus you can book u-hauls rental trucks too

Finding a great mechanic that you can trust can be challenging, especially if you're female. However, at Brakes Plus, I feel at ease because the owner, Andrew, always takes great care of my car. And if I don't understand something, he takes the time to explain and show me what went wrong with my car and how he fixed it. Who does that? Brakes Plus does! That's why I go there regularly for my oil changes and car maintenance.

A very reasonable and efficient place to get brake work done. Andrew took careful notes as to the problems I was experiencing with my brakes, took the car for a test drive FIRST to see for himself, then kept me well informed through every step of his diagnosis. He gave me a couple of options for accompishing the work--at a reasonable price-- and called me at the time he promised the car would be ready. What else do you want from a car repair place?

I find this place very easy to deal with. They've given me good advice. If anything they tried to save me money when I was willing to replace a part to get it done right. No pressure, so I recommend then as a first place to check out.
