5 reviews for Bowcraft Amusement Park
oh the delights of fun here at bowcraft!
I had my 8th birthday party here and still continue to visit to this day.
Recently updated, bowcraft is a great amusement park only 30 mins from NYC and centrally located in NJ. Very easy to get to and not too hard on the pocket either.
Great date place as well as family fun.

I used to go here a lot as a kid. When I was little I loved it. Couldn't get any better than a divorced dad trying to pick up your spirits (and win you over) with a trip to Bowcraft. But the fact of the matter is that the rides were old and a kid fell out of the ferris wheel because the teenager operating it was jerking it back and forth as a joke. The kid survived with a traumatic brain injury and probably wasn't ever the same. After that my mom wasn't too into my dad taking us there. They used to pile us onto that same ferris wheel, me and my brother with two tiny twin siblings on the inside. Glad we didn't fall out too.
I also remember the arcade kind of sucked and the boat game was overpriced.. but when you are a kid you don't realize those things. Even as a kid though I did realize the mini golf was falling apart and on its last leg. Hopefully they put some money into fixing that one..

I actually got a season pass for my son (2.5at the time) and my youngest (under 1) for summer 2007 and didn't do this for this summer, only because the price is pretty steep (you have to pay for older than 1). The kids loved the train and the small rides (frog hopper, mini-trucks, mini-boats, mini-balloons, super slide, swings and a carousel . Pretty small, but entertaining. They also do bday parties here, and have some cool fast rides too for the older ones. Would give it a try, it was perfect for the time where my son could go on the little rides while I had the younger one in a stroller. I'm not sure what the prices were for 2008. We ended up doing a playground project this past summer (http://www.njplaygroun...)
Went here when I was a kid.
Bowcraft is the only amusement park nearby that is great for young kids. I use to go there all the time when I was a kid. The Scrambler and Tilt-a-World are my faves. But now that my kids are age appropriate, it's a good place to go to kill a couple hours during the day. I think in 2007, they introduced the full day passes rather than the 3-5 tickets pay per ride. For over $20 a day, I thought it was quite expensive for each person entering their park because the adults and children 1 year old had to pay full fare and that can get costly for a park that doesn't have that many rides and children 1 year old can only sit in a few rides. You really couldn't spend a full day there. But now I see they went back to pay per ride. I think business went down when people didn't go there as often. I'm glad to see they went back to pay per ride because now I can go there for an hour or two and not feel like I spent a fortune.
