Homemade food! What a treat. It has been a long time since I have had pasta that was absolutely delicious. The meatballs I can't even describe how yummy they were. Service was great.
The spaghetti noodles are thick. Calzones enormous!! My lunch date and I each had a meal and a drink for just under $20.
Wonderful place for casual dining.
Nothing really horrible or great about Bova's. Their red sauce is tasty but too thin for the home made pasta. Speaking of which, the pasta is going to either win you over or turn you off. Personally, I prefer dried pasta for spaghetti and fresh past for ravioli, tortellini, shells and other stuffed forms. We found Bova's to be chewy which isn't surprising, just not to my taste. Meatballs were very good. Chicken parm was deep fried patty. Hmm, I'll take Carl's version over this any day.
Biggest plus, paper place mats with pictures of Italy. Good kitsch.
Biggest minus, mostly beer signs on the walls. Is this a tavern or an Italian restaurant.
Don't go out of your way.
big a$$ canoli's for about 8 or 9 bucks the size of a football! quick service but kind of sketchy looking dive the spaghetti and meatballs were very good as well!
Oh Bova's, where was I eating calzones before I met you? There is no other that can stuff me quite like you. My stomach thanks you, but my taste buds can't stop thinking about you. We've been seeing each other for quite some time now and I think it's about time to yelp about your deliciousness.
There's only one rule when going to Bova's... GO HUNGRY!!! I go specifically for the made to order calzones. You pick your cheeses, meats, and veggies (well you don't have to have veggies) and they come out made to perfection. There are two different sizes of calzone... big and huge! I always order the smaller one, it's plenty of food. I've only had the honor to see a man finish the huge calzone once, a round of applause for you Mike!!! Since the calzones are made to order they take some time to cook so be sure to order an appetizer. Though your stomach may be growling your taste buds forgive you for the wait.
Bova's is a family owned Italian restaurant, I can only give them 4 stars out of respect of my Italian family because of course my grandma's cooking is the best!
Where are all the Westminsterites eating these days? No reviews for Bova's. Are they trying to keep it a secret? I haven't been here for a while but it could have been yesterday in my cannoli memory. They make meat bombs here that'll blast the wholly (PC) hell out of your protein urges. I'm going back this weekend to confirm what my stomach remembers happened to it the last time I was here. Cannoli wars?
