We had our charity golf tournament and a sit down dinner at Boundary Oak and it was terrific. As always the golf event was seem-less and well run by the BO team.
Drinks and dinner was served well with polite and courteous people and great food.

This golf course has drastically improved since it changed management in July. There are new mats, new range balls, and now there is a happy hour outside (which has a breath taking view) on Thursday nights by the banquet room.
My dad and I both had a sandwich here before we played golf at the little cafe, and we both thought our sandwiches were amazing....the bread was so thick and heavenly.
The course is pretty nice, plus there is a good chance that you will run into some wild life like geese, deer, and wild turkeys.
Word of advice, this golf course is rather tucked away, so definitely print out driving directions for your first trek to the course.
This is a very nice course. It plays pretty quick for an 18 hole course, as the layout is continuous and not ridiculously spread out like some courses I have played on.
Pros: Well kept greens and fairways. Variety of holes and elevations make you think out each hole. The weather is usually great in the area. The price is very reasonable. I've played twilight here with a cart for around $25-$30.
Cons: You'll lose alot of balls here, even if you keep them near the fairway. I've watched my ball roll just off the fairway, and still not been able to find it at times. The rough might be just a bit too thick, or maybe the closeness of holes allows for confused golfers shooting from another tee to come and nag my ball before I have a chance to get to it.
Also, the course is a bit out of the way--It's off the freeway quite a ways. Still, it's worth the trip. Peak hours are pricey, though...so aim for early bird, or twilight.
Fore!!!
I have only used the driving range and the teaching staff. What a wonderful experience, my instructor Katie Webber Krawesky was very helpful and has a great sense of humor! I highly recommend her!!!

Went to the driving range yesterday. The large bucket is $8. There are lots of tees to choose from. The standard mat (lots of stalls), but then if you walk up to the right of the range, there are all grass tees, two tiers. There is a lot of mud up top, so don't expect to be clean after your swings.
Yes, the red striped balls do have to go. Stained my club!
A local gem ... great value and play usually moves pretty quick on a week day. Holes just challenging enough without becoming frustrating. A really great driving range is a total plus.
Pro shop staff can be a bit gruff. Teaching staff inconsistent.
Recently organized a corporate event at Boundary Oak and I was pleasantly surprised. The pro shop was extremely flexible, letting us delay our Saturday morning tee times off of the 10th by 30 minutes so as to give our late arrivals time to warm up. The driving range itself is mediocre... old mats with red-striped rock balls. The mats do have preinstalled rubber tees, so no need to buy one or bring your own.
The course layout is pretty straightforward, where the first three holes are the highlight.... par 4 over water, downhill par 3, downhill par 5. After that, the track gets a little bit boring. The length of the course is definitely a plus, but I have to say the conditions were barely average. Patchy fairways, junky rough and dandelions were a little irritating... but to top it off there was an inordinate amount of in-course O.B.... pretty much to the point where I disregarded it altogether. O.B. 10 yards from the fairway?? Ridiculous. But then again, it is a muni with great rates, so I'll shutup now about the conditions.
One big challenge was the greens.... man... would have been much more fun if I wasn't the worst putter in the bay area. Undulating, fast and deceptive. Sometimes coming up short was a blessing in disguise. Definitely make sure you practice your stroke on the practice green before teeing off, otherwise you are liable to beat yourself to death with the flatstick.
All in all, a basic 3 star muni with good length. And an extra star for the cool staff and cheap rates.

Pretty challenging course that's usually in pretty good shape. Good rates even for non residents.
Go grub at P.F. chang's downtown after your round for some eye candy.
good challenging course. only problem is the power wires on some holes i believe its hole 4, 5 and 6. but i no scratch golfer so if you keep it on the fairways its fine. i love all the water hazards on this course. havn't tried the food here yet sorry
It used to be a good place to play for a reasonable price. Now it is almost impossible to get one because 1)there is a core group that gets preferred tee times, 2)the starter puts people on the 1st and 10th tees at the same time from sunrise to 10 and then nobody gets on until 1. Bob Boldt is an ass and the other teachers follow suit. It is getting more expensive every year. On the plus side, it is a decent place to practice your putting and chipping. This place is one of the reasons why I rarely play golf anymore. If I have 6 hours to kill, I go surfing.

This is a very challenging course. It is about 7000 from the tips. What makes this course hard are the greens because they are very fast. One of my buddies had a 5 putt because it kept on rolling back down. Make sure you get the speed down on the putting green. The fairways looks like a leopard because of the brown spots. Overall the service and golf shop were good and the course has a lot of bends and tricks. Just make sure you are below the hole on the greens. Get your tee time from GolfNow because it is a lot cheaper.

I've played this course a few times now. For the money it is a great value. The track is challenging and has enough variety to keep you interested on each hole. The back nine is definitely the tougher of the two. The fairways are in okay condition, but the greens are usually in great shape....very fast! The weekend tee times are a little weird, with tee times off both sides from about 6am to about 8:30am and then again starting around 11am. If you are looking for a top notch course then this is not the place for you, but if you want a challenging course with true rolling greens at an affordable price then Boundary Oak should be a pleasant time for you.

Boundary Oaks is a great course with challenging par 4's that will keep you guessing. I love to play different courses, to keep my game up to snuff, but boundary always has lush greens with well taken care of fairways, constant repairs to old divots marks and greens, keeping this course prestige as possible. Green fee's range from TWILIGHT : 20 student and 20 for adult. I love cheap golf and boundary oaks isn't too bad when it comes to a great course for cheap prices.
this is a great muni. i grew up playing this course, and i still some 20 yrs later regularly play this course. the greens are really challenging, and the course conditions are always decent. its at the base of mt. diablo, so the course is fairly rolling, but its easy to walk. residents play for $22, and non residents dont pay more than something like $35... and thats on the weekends! they host a lot of tournaments, so trying to get a weekend tee time can be difficult, but i find i can walk on as a single fairly easily in the mornings (get there early). NOTE: they tee off from both the front and back early in the mornings, and then there is a black out period from around 9-11, after which they repeat the same tee off process on the front and back.
