I lived in countless cities in my short lifetime. Granted most of them have been in California. But this path/trail is the best that I have ever come across. The folks in Boulder got it nailed down to a science. So this trail goes throughout the majority of Boulder. If you are coming to Boulder for the 1st time it would be an amazing way to see the whole city --- literally. It has this really calming effect. Running in the fresh air with all the greenery & springs around you. Not to mention a view of the Flatirons in some places. Everyone that is out on the trail is so happy and friendly too. Even though a lot of people run on this path you won't be crowded. There were a lot of times when I was on this path that I would be alone.

It used to motivate the hell out of me. Everyone is so fit in Boulder. I would be slowing down preparing to slow my pace and some Grandpa would wiz right on by. Kicking my ass! Keep in mind that if you are from out of town it will take you at least 1 day to acclimate to the elevated air.

Boulder Creek Path is one of the great things about Boulder that I think everyone can enjoy.

Running about 8 miles from far west Boulder (Four Mile Canyon) to East Boulder near Valmont, this path runs along the edge of Boulder creek through town. It is a great place to take a stroll, go for a jog, walk your dog, or ride your bike, and is wide enough to accommodate all four.

The creek is beautiful during all seasons, and the path itself is well-kept, and even plowed during the winter. It is a great way to get to Campus or downtown.

Simply one of the things that makes Boulder what it is.

A place I've spent a good deal of my life. The Boulder Creek Path is a great place to bike, walk, sun, whatever. I've been to picnics here, even a naked Halloween run. It's THE place to go tubing, and my girlfriend and I went fly fishing here for our birthdays last year.

And if you're feeling up to it, traverse the entire trail--a stretch that takes you through downtown, into rural plains and into the mountains. I love to go for a bike ride on cool Wednesday evenings in the summer and get back in time to check out the Farmers' Market.

And if you're a biker and really feeling up to it. When you get to the western end of the trail, cruise down Four Mile Canyon for a ways then try your hand (and hammies and legs and knees) at Poor Man's Canyon.

This is one of the best city paths I have ever biked on.  For a beginner biker like me it gives me the challenges of the turns, avoiding other bikers and people, dogs, people, and the scariest thing, little kids.... Don't hit them, no matter what happens, you will always look like the bad one!

This is a great path to get you from point A to Point B, but I have always just ridden on it to enjoy the day.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find the path at night to be a little creepy.  It is dark and you never know who or what is going to jump out of the bushes. Granted, this is Boulder, not that much would probably happen.

* Star one is for a great path for me to get my booty in shape on
** Huf huf star two is for the exercise the path gives me
*** Coordination star three is for all the other path lovers, this makes me have to learn how to stop fast and steer quick
**** Fast fast star four is for giving my boyfriend the opportunity to lose me on the path... Then he can miss me...

The Boulder Creek Path, and other multi-use trails, are what's great about Boulder. I can head out on a run from the office, hop on my bike and ride into downtown for lunch, or even walk the path and fish the holes and runs for trout. Everyone is friendly and the people watching is top notch. Just watch out for those cyclists who think they always have the right away. I like to call them "pathletes". They are usually few and far between though. Get outside!
