Wow.....yelp saved the day on this one. While walking the river walk I was overwhelmed by all the options and yelp came to the rescue saving me from the other establishments preying on unbeknownst customers looking for 'real food'.

Boudro's  - way to be. Quality + thoughtful menu went along way to hit the spot. I had the pork taco's which were some of the best tacos I have ever had (and I eat lots lots lots of tacos).

Go here instead of all the places around it, def worth the extra few $$.

So after my marathon run I took a long nap. When I was finished I was starving! I wasn't in the mood for anymore Tex-Mex so I decided to check out Boudro's instead!

I didn't get there until almost 10 PM but luckily they are open until 11!!!

The decor inside is NICE! It was like a 5 star restaurant mixed in with all of this other touristy junk. I was promptly seated and started looking over the menu.

My waiter suggested the blackened prime rib. I am usually not a fan of prime rib because of the extra fatty sides but I wanted to try it since he swore everyone that has it loves it.

While I waited the waiter brought me complimentary bread and I was able to people watch as tourists walked by. My steak arrived quickly after ordering it and it was cooked perfectly.

I ordered it medium and it was blackened well on the outside but pink in the middle. It was served over fresh veggies and topped with a garlic butter...DROOLS! I ended up scrapping some it off and putting it on the bread it was that good.

As far as the steak it was literally the best piece of prime rib I have ever had. I don't know if it was the run or if the meal was that good but my plate was spotless by the end of dinner.

Definitely a must stop if you are on the riverwalk. Skip all the touristy Tex-Mex and grab yourself a nice steak!

Boudro's only during December!

Why?!? Because my coworkers and I enjoy coming here!  Great for groups, delish food, great mix drinks!

They're well known for their freshly made guacamole... they even make it in front of you too!

This is a great venue for groups!  They have a boat on the riverwalk where you can enjoy the food in an intimate setting for your party.  They even provide one of those Mexican blankets to keep you warm!

Definitely a great restaurant!

This was a small stylish restaurant on the Riverwalk. There were three guys, the smallest of us is 5-foot-10-inches and 250 pounds, and the host put us at the world's smallest table at the corner of the walking path from the front door to the right-side dining room. Okay...we were crowded and so was the table next to us. It became very apparent the table was small when the two appetizers, three glasses of water, and three drinks wouldn't fit on the table with the plates, salt & pepper shakers, and candle.

The Guacamole-for-Two is really good. The waiter makes it right in front of you. No filler like mayonaise or sour cream. This is dee-licious chunk style guacamole! They add a squeeze of fresh orange along with all the usual ingredients to give it a good zing. As previously noted, our table was small and in a bad location. The waiter was on the other side of the walkway from us making the dish because he didn't have anywhere else to stand.

For dinner, the coconut shrimp was dee-licious! It had a really nice tropical flavor and the sauce served on the side really complimented shrimp. For dessert, I had the coconut custard with caramel sauce. I didn't think the two flavors would go well together, but I was very surprised by this combination.

I had to ask the waiter to pick a wine for me as I didn't recognize many from the list. I'm not a wine sommelier, but do know some of the better vineyards and labels.

One of the group ordered the quail or squab. A day later he was very sick. Not sure if it was from here or elsewhere. This seemed to stand out as the three of us were traveling together and all ate at the same places. His dinner at Boudro's was the only meal that was different.

Make a reservation if possible; don't know if they take them or not. Otherwise, expect to wait. I think dining on the patio would be a great experience. Then again, any table that would provide comfortable seating would have been nice.

There were several other dishes (grilled seafood platter, chicken breast chop pan seared with rosemary, and steaks) that I want to try. Of course, I want to have six of every dessert :-)

I plan to come back next time I'm in San Antonio.

Went there for lunch on a Monday, the day after the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, so there will still several marathoners/half-marathoners still in town. But we were seated immediately.

We didn't have the famous guacamole for two in exhange for a dessert. I had the Prickly Pear Margarita though.

My husband had the Blue Crab Tostada and I had the Empanada Langosta (Lobster). The portions were perfect for lunchtime and the food was absolutely delicious.

We rarely get dessert at lunch but couldn't pass it up: I had the Coconut Flan (custard)  and my husband had the Toasted Nut Brittle Ice Cream. I rarely skip a chocolate dessert, but this was an exception and I was not disaapointed.

Since the place wasn't crowed, it was a great time and great food. I was too cold to sit outside, but we got a window seat side. Great service and great food for a reasonable price. Not some low quality chain food you could get on the Riverwalk.

Had an hour and a half for lunch, thereabouts.  Staying on the River Walk.  Saw Boudros diners eating tasty-looking treats whilst strolling by the night before, where eventually we ended up at the Iron Succulent.  But Boudros, A Texas Bistro, seemed promising.

We dropped in from above and got a table quickly, though it was fairly crowded for lunch.

I like the menus.  Big and rustic, heavy.  Interior is nice.  Us dry-air-lovin Californee folk eschewed the muggy Walk.  Lots of copper and wood.  I like copper and wood.  As Roald Hoffman would say, "Copper, beautiful copper. . . "

Anyhow.  Tasty looking items inhabited the appetizer menu, and an economically priced burger called out to us.

We asked for mesquite-grilled quail legs on pepper-jack grits.  Oh, those three little birdies gave us much pleasure.  And the cheesy, peppery grits accompanied nicely.  The crisp-fried jalapeno slices jutting out of the mound of grits was a nice, spicy touch.

The Texas Tapas had us slightly giddy, as well.  Well-seasoned sausage drizzled with a complementary sauce; a skewer of grilled pork and pineapple on a creamy, spicy green sauce; Smoked duck chili on a polenta or something like that.  All of these were full of flavor and happiness-inducing.

The burger took a long time to come out.  The server was astute enough to notice we were ready to go and told them to pack it as such, and then overheard me lament that move (but only selfishly, really a good idea) because we'd also gotten a hold of boxes--I wanted to take a few, quick, craven bites--so he was like, "Oh! I can tell them to send it out on a plate!"  No need; ripped that sucker out of the to-go box and we took some bites.

It also tasted great later that night.

It was very reasonable for lunch; the dinner menu looked fairly pricey but I'll bet a feller can get a satisfying meal out of it.

We're walking towards Boudro's and we see Dread-lock guy from American Idol Jason Castro and friend walking into Boudro's....well it must be good!   Get in elevator Castro friend asks.."Is this place good?"     After brief convo on what we've heard and what they heard, we head in.

Guacamole... as everyone says is good and I think what makes everyone rave is that it's a simple preparation with roasted tomatoes done table-side with explanation.  You're blown away by presentation.  I liked the Guac and would order any time I go back.

Prime Rib....  HOLY CRAP it's the best PR I have had in a long long time.  Charred all the way around but maintained its moist and delectable center.

Wife had Prickly Pear Margarita which was very good and tasted like prickly pears, not like sugar syrup, which could be confused with passion fruit or pomegranate or prickly pear...so A+ on the PP Marg.

Osso Bucco Shortribs were nice, huge order though so good to split.  Very southwest in flavor and sides, which is nice to see sides that take local ingrediants.

The reason I didn't give a 5 is because the outside is cramped and servers and people will bump in to you.  However, I will say a 4.5 stars because they are quick to get people seated.

Let me start out by saying that I wasn't blown away by the Riverwalk - too crowded, too touristy, and I was afraid I would fall into the river (yes, it's only three feet deep in most places but I was still nervous.) This restaurant, however, was one of the few things that made the Riverwalk tolerable. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for the prickly pear margaritas, the made-at-your-table guacamole, the pork tenderloin, and the berry cobbler. Be prepared for a tight environment, though - tables were so close together that the servers' asses kept brushing us. Which depending on what you are into might not be a bad thing, but I thought I should put it out there for you to do with as you wish.

In all seriousness, this is probably one of your best culinary bets on the Riverwalk. Make a reservation!

I'll wholeheartedly agree with all who comment that this is one of the better River Walk restaurants.

If you get a chance, try the guacamole that's made at tableside for an appetizer. Its some of the best I've had in a while.

Most of the entrees I tried were very good. My mother-in-law ordered their quail and she raved about it (this from a rather picky food critic). I had a filet which was unfortunately overcooked. I would be willing to give them another shot to see if they can prepare a steak better.

Definitely leave room for dessert. The bread pudding, chocolate brownie and nut brittle ice cream were outstanding.

Definitely one of the better places on the Riverwalk - but still not fabulous.

The food is seafood, steaks and dishes with a Mexican flair. I enjoyed my Big Tail, Little Tails dish (small lobster tail and 3 jumbo shrimp) however, it was covered in sauce. The spicy sauce was good but I always feel not so great food  is covered in sauce. The bread pudding was good but has a very strong bourbon taste.

FYI they have no draft beers - they carry 3 bottled types. Namely, this place is known for wine and has lots to choose from.

The Riverwalk is full of pitfalls with subpar restaurants that charge too much for ordinary food to many unsuspecting tourists. While you're not going to get away from Boudro's without paying a pretty penny, at least the food makes up for it.

For me, the appeal of Boudro's comes with the seafood, and Boudro's isn't afraid to bring it. As the menu informs us, the seafood largely originates from Texas, with a good three dozen fish originating from Texas' gulf adorning their seasonal dishes. It's to the restaurant's credit that they deal in local food, not only because it's the freshest fish you're going to find in this mostly landlocked state, but it's proof to the visitors of the state that we have more to offer than just Tex-Mex.

My meal began with fried oysters. This was my first foray into oyster country, and I honestly came away unimpressed. The oyster meat was fairly tough, and a few pieces had a piece of shell or were just too tough to eat. Perhaps it was the method of cooking (though frying is the top cooking method for trying something new in my book), or perhaps I just am not used to the texture, but my inexperience gives the restaurant a pass. It's not like I stopped eating them, in any case.

The meal improved with my main course - the yellowfin tuna, which was "marinated in achiote, roasted poblano butter, served with smashed potato cakes and citrus tomato fennel chutney." The sauce had great complexity, and the use of chiles gave it a distinctly Texas spin on things. I'm a big fan of places that can defy people's expectations of what Texas has to offer - we're not all cowboys with thick accents and super-patriotic gun collectors, like many outside the state tend to believe.

We managed to grab an outside table without any sort of a wait on a Saturday night, which surprised me greatly. What I did not appreciate, however, was that the tables on the patio were placed so close together that I really didn't have a whole lot of personal space - I was bumping elbows with the guy at the table behind me throughout the meal. I don't blame Boudro's for wanting to accommodate as many people as possible, especially considering the heavy volume of business they must be handling, but if I were to return I might opt to eat inside.

If you're a local and are entertaining some out-of-town guests who insist on eating on the Riverwalk, you might as well get some good food out of it. Boudro's has the goods.

Not being a frequent visitor to San Antonio, I still enjoy strolling along the riverwalk. One particular weeknight I was strolling a little bit later in the evening, and many restaurants had already closed their kitchens. I thought I would starve, but then I saw that Boudro's was still serving. So really, my hunger and a lack of options led me to try this restaurant for the first time.

I started with a tomato and mozzarella salad, a favorite of mine in the summer, and was not disappointed.  All the ingredients tasted fresh.  At the waiter's recommendation, I ordered the quail as my entree ($25).  The little birds, who had been Texas natives, were stuffed with corn, mushrooms, poblanos, and apples. The combination of sweet and savory worked well with the smokiness of the meat.  I also enjoyed the roasted veggies and potatoes. The menu may seem a little on the pricey side, but for the attentive service, pleasant atmosphere (table on the river) and unique food, it was worth it.

I went for the guacamole. It was REALLY GOOD! Probably the best I have had in the city of San Antonio at a restaurant. My friend makes better guacamole though. She was with me and informed me she got the recipe from Boudro's and added her special touch to her personal guacamole.

We also had the quail as an appetizer. Not very good and extremely over priced for the size portion. I guess you pay for the Riverwalk experience, but the ducks in the river ate more of the quail than we did.

They were nice to make a pina colada for me (not on the menu) and my friend had a Texas Tea. I recommend neither. I am one that likes mixed drinks where you don't taste the alcohol. I could taste it in my pina colada and well, I got buzzed just smelling her Texas Tea...

I would give this place 3 stars overall, but giving an extra star for the guacamole. I'd go back, but it was WAY too expensive and since I know the recipe now, and that my friend makes better, I will go over to her place. Whole heck of a lot cheaper and she has air conditioning.

Another note: Boudro's has a boat dinner that goes around the Riverwalk where you can pay $40 dollars for the meal along with the boat ride (approx 2 hours). Drinks are extra, and you have to pay gratuity on the meal, but it probably is worth it since many folks like to take the boat tour around the Riverwalk and then eat somewhere afterward. Might be cheaper in the long run.

I didn't think this place was any place special, much less worth the price.  The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail was overcooked and the blackened prime rib was so seasoned I couldn't taste the meat.  I also tried the salmon bruschetta, which was OK.  And, by the way, when I'm paying over $100 for a meal, I expect to have a decent wine glass- - what is up with these tiny narrow things they serve wine in?  Service was some of the best we've had in San Antonio, which isn't saying much, but at least the guy made an effort.

Our first time visiting San Antonio we found the riverwalk to be a bunch of fun and a great atmosphere. We had a 7pm reservation for Boudro's and even though they were very busy we were sat immediately.

I try to base my review as rating something against its peers. For Boudro's price point I do not consider them to be a super high end restaurant. Entrees were between $20-$30 and sides were included and not a la carte.

My chipotle caesar salad was awesome. Something about the added spice really complemented the parmesan cheese and dressing. My husbands duck & sausage gumbo was also very good, spicy and flavorful.

I had the black angus loin end cut ribeye which was perfectly cooked to order. It was very good for its price. I was not a fan of the rosemary potatoes - they were very salty.

My husband had the big tails little tails and he enjoyed it as well. The risotto was fantastic.

For dessert we had creme brulee - tasted light and sweet, just what we wanted.

We would probably return after trying other places in San Antonio and seeing how they measure up.

I'm glad I came here because the guacamole was everything I had hoped for. For the entree, I ordered the Sirloin and Frites. I have to admit I had no idea what chimichurri was - in fact, it was completely different from what I expected. I'm not a big fan of parsley or garlic, but I really enjoyed the overall flavoring of the meat. The sirloin was also cooked perfectly so that it was not too dry. My girlfriend ordered the Grilled Prime Rib - also delicious! I never realized you could grill a prime rib, but it seemed to lock in the juices with a nice crispy exterior. I also had a chance to sample the grilled Mahi Mahi - slightly overcooked but still juicy and well-flavored.

Drinks: My boyfriend approves of their bloody mary ($8.50), but I don't approve of their strawberry caipirinha ($10.50). The bloody mary comes with a large shrimp on a skewer, and while the caipirinha is made with fresh strawberries, it really just didn't live up to the standards of the caipirinha that I've learned to love.

Appetizer: The guacamole for two is made at your table, much in the style of Cantina Laredo. I think this dish has a misnomer since it was plenty for our party of four as an appetizer. It stands out from other guacs with its roasted tomatoes, which add a smokey flavor to what would otherwise be a normal side.

Entrees: 1) House smoked shrimp and crab enchiladas were a winner! A dish I would order again. 2) Texas filet of sirloin and frites was all right: the chimichurri sauce did put a spin on what sounds plain.

Dessert: No room. I'll have to try them next time!

The verdict: Boudro's does seem like one of the better restaurants on the Riverwalk, but that doesn't mean it'll beat your hometown favorite. If you find yourself in San Antone and have a hankering for a place that doesn't completely suck, then Boudro's is a good choice.

Made reservation for 8pm on Saturday (9/5)! Its crazy busy but they did have my table ready otherwise, I will be joining the line that might take up to 30mins. I did request for a table along the Riverwalk, it was a mistake coz its hot & humid outside with people walking pass the table, so we were so glad they accommodate our last minute request to sit inside in the comfort of the a/c and still see the crowds outside.

We ordered a bottle of 2004 Provenance Syrah, very fruity and bold, not to my partner liking but i love it, so half the bottle was mine ;) and thats my limit! We started with the most amazing appetizer, Salmon Bruchetta, the cured salmon with a slice of cucumber on a toasted pita bread - heavenly, the mix of the salmon with the fresh taste of the cucumber just amazing! Simple yet very effective combo... Now, after that, all went downhill... I had the Duck Three Ways - the glazed duck was dry and overly sweet from the blood orange sauce, honestly it just tasted like those BBQ sauce you get from outside; the crispy duck springroll was NOT crispy coz it was soaked in the plum sauce, thus cant even taste the duck; as for the duck chili, i cant even described it, just like a lump of bread budding with (again) no taste of duck nor piece of the meat. But the worst was the Texas Sirloin that my partner ordered, the beautiful chunk of beef turned out to be just a very rough & tasteless piece of meat. Its so obvious that they thawed the frozen beef, parboiled it and seared. Just bad! So, we skipped the dessert and went on a boat cruise to enjoy our evening...

I am not sure if they were unable to cope with the crowds, thus the bad entrees or just thats the standard... so, my recommendation is just to check out the appetizer, then just hang around and enjoy the atmosphere. Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere else. Reason i gave the 3 stars is the ambiance & the appetizer!

This place is supposed to be 1 of the 50 best restaurants in TX.
Sadly if this is what TX has to offer I am very disappointed.
The meal started off great. We made reservations for a riverside table at 630. We showed up an hour early and well seated immediately.  I started with a Bloody Marry which was beautiful and delicious. My friends got the shrimp cocktail and crab cakes.  Both were delicious.  So you might be asking yourself why I gave this place only two stars when things were going so well?  The appetizers were the only good thing this place had to offer.  I ordered the Big Tails little tails as my entrée.  I had read many good reviews about this dish right here on yelp so when I saw it on the menu it seemed like the obvious choice.  This dish was described on the menu as Pan-seared baby lobster tail and giant Gulf shrimp smothered with
spicy crawfish tails; with lemon, avocado and roasted tomato risotto and grilled scallions .  I am a big fan of risotto and therefore know that it must be prepared right before serving in order to really do the dish justice.  This risotto had the taste and texture of something that sat on a sheet pan for most of the day and got reheated shortly before serving in a sauté pan with a little cream.  This risotto was a mistake. Just wrong. I sent it back because it was very dry and UNDERCOOKED.  How do charge $30 for raw and crusty risotto.   When the dish came back the risotto  improved a little  but still wasn't up to par.   After my initial risotto taste test I moved on to the rest of the dish which turned out to be absolutely discussing.  The entire thing was soaked in a red sauce.  The sauce was unbearable salty. Does your chef ever taste his food b4 sending it out Boudro's? Did he ever have any formal training or did you hire him/her based on his 10 year experience at the sizzler???????  I sent the dish back again for the second time and sat around extremely pissed off for a while.  After a formal apology and confirmation of the sauces saltiness from the manager I felt my complains were justified and decided to give the place another chance.  My second entrée order was the duck trio. Soy espresso glazed duck confit with huckleberry blood orange sauce, served
with a crispy duck springroll, smoked duck chili and jalapeno corn pudding.  Again I was not impressed the duck confit was ok but not great. The tanginess of the blood orange really  didn't work well with the duck.  The spring roll was ok and the smoked duck chili tasted like absolute ass.  It was more of a mock pulled pork made with duck.
I'm sorry but if your looking for a good meal you just wont find it here.
Not worth the time and definitely not for the $$$

Old Texas style steaks and atmosphere.  Other than the County Line BBQ, this is my next favorite place to eat on the Riverwalk.

This is an all around great spot. Great atmosphere on the Riverwalk. Everything on the menu is excellent. I recommend the blackened prime rib. Nice wine list with reasonable prices. They have a wine bar across the street you can have drinks at while you wait. Service is good also.

Went here last week for lunch with two friends who were in town, one from Austin the other from SoCal.  I had wanted to take them to Panchito's @ The Quarry but they didn't want to leave downtown so I picked Boudro's. I'd been here once before but just had guac and drinks so I didn't really know what to expect.  Got there at 12:30 on a weekday, no problems getting a table.

My friends both had Prickly Pear Margaritas. I opted for the regular Marg, on the rocks with salt.  When it came out, the salt looked more like Old Bay Seasoning, something I typically prefer to be on the rim of a Bloody Mary. Weird.

We started off with guacamole, made tableside...super delish! They also have amazzzzzing salsa.  I thought this was a Tex Mex place so I was a little disappointed to only find a small portion of the menu dedicated to it...but that's my fault for being dumb, not theirs.  I ordered the burger & fries for $7.50. It was ENORMOUS and delicious.  I was in the mood to be a fatty that day so I was disappointed when the waitress told me they didn't have Ranch. WHAT!?!? My friends split a soup and the BLT wrap...they said they loved both.

Other than the weird salt, my only other complaint involved our server. I know it's her job to suggest and up-sell but she was a bit of an overachiever. I told her I wanted something small and she spent about 5 minutes suggesting $25-$30 steaks and duck and other entrees, to the point where I had to stop her and say "okay I think I'll just have the burger."

I really like this place but I am not as big a fan as my in-laws. (This is their favorite food place in San Antonio).

Incredible food, but not worth the sometimes 2 hour wait you can encounter.

Atmosphere is great though.

I had the Guacamole and then the blackened prime rib, both were excellent.

I haaaate the Riverwalk.  It always looks so disgusting and yesterday was worse than usual.  The water was stagnant and covered with debris and we even saw a dead pigeon floating in the water.  I'm just thankful that it was dark when we were there, because who knows what else could be seen in the daylight.  I especially don't understand how people could eat outside near that water.  My appetite disappeared when I saw that river as we headed for Boudro's.

My appetite came back though when we got our menus.  Everything just sounded so good.  I'm not sure why Yelp categorizes this restaurant as Cajun because they describe themselves as a Texan cafe, though there are a handful of Cajun inspired dishes.  Considering there's like 20 yelp reviews on the guacamole alone, we had to order it.

BEST GUACAMOLE EVER!!!  And I've had a lot of guac.  It was prepared tableside: juice from 1/4 orange, juice from 1/2 lime, 1 avocado, red onion, cilantro, salt, and their special ingredient-tomatoes and serrano chili peppers that were fire-roasted over mesquite and pecan wood.  Their chips were fantastic too.  Light and not a bit of grease.  I could of happily eaten that whole bowl of guac by itself with a spoon though.

The fried oysters were ok, but the pineapple pico de gallo and the salad that was served along with it were fantastic.  I also had the tomato and lump crab tabbouleh soup which was wonderful and really filling considering that there was like half a cup of straight tabbouleh in it.

For my entree I got the Big Tails, Little Tails which was seared petite lobster tail along with Gulf shrimp served with a crawfish etouffee and avocado risotto.  It was seriously heaven.  The etouffee was rich and had a spicy kick to it which was perfect with the shellfish.  It had such good flavor that it overpowered the risotto.  It wasn't until the waiter told me to eat the risotto on its own that I realized what a fantastic meal in itself that the risotto was.  The avocado in it lent the risotto a creaminess while the hints of citrus in it completed the loveliness of the dish.  I've never had a better risotto.

Best meal in Texas yet!

We started with prickly pear margaritas, which were both beautiful and delicious, and the guacamole. I had no idea when I ordered it that it would ruin all other guac for me forever. They make it tableside, with smoked peppers and salsa, lemon, orange, sea salt - the combo of smoky, salty, and sweet was out of this world. I could have eaten it without chips. My husband and I split the pepper crusted prime rib - which was melt in your mouth delicious. So good I could have cried. If you are in San Antonio, you MUST go here.

Fabulous!!!
Great location!
Great food!
Great service!
Went here for lunch. Very polite friendly and entertaining waiter.
The guacamole for two, as mentioned by several others, is a MUST! If not for the taste (and by God, it's yummy) ... then at least for the fun of watching your waiter make it at your table.
My wife had the crab/seafood tostada...one of the best seafood things we've EVER had.

I love anywhere with outside seating.  Outside seating + heatlamps are an instant win in my book.  Outside seating + heatlamps + blankets is a dream come true.  Add an absolutely amazing guacamole and I'm in heaven.

The food was really, really good.  The service was what it should be.  The drinks were small.  And it was really expensive.  Once I went inside, the prices made more sense.  It was cute, romantic, and all sorts of date restaurant.  Outside it was just another tourist stop along the riverwalk.

If I ever go back to San Antonio, I'd do their dinner on a riverboat thing.  They are one of the restaurants that hire out one of the tour boats and serve food on it for a ninety minute cruise for $40 (not including drinks.)  The menu for the cruise is set.

I would eat here again in a heartbeat...if someone else was paying.  If I was paying I'd just go for the guacamole and then go somewhere else for actual dinner.  But, price aside, this place was great.

We had lunch here and the food was excellent. Great location and service. I had the blue crab tostada and it was stuffed with tons of crab. It came with some slices of avocado and a mixed greens salad with a vinaigrette. It was all delicious. My boyfriend got a hamburger and fries and it was huge and juicy. He also enjoyed his meal. Their prickly pear margarita was yummy (loved that it was electric pink) and one for me was enough to make me a little tipsy. Maybe I should have eaten breakfast that day so I would have been good to have another. Loved the atmosphere.

We chose this place for an anniversary dinner.  Service was poor, the food was not very good and ambiance was non-existent.  1st, we had a reservation and upon arrival were seated right inside the front door in front of the waiter's work space in a dark corner.  No tablecloths on the table and what I would consider outside tables and chairs.  I did complain and we were moved but was insulted that, with a reservation, we were given a last minute table (and had indicated on the reservation that it was a special occasion).

We both ordered the Big Tails, Little Tails (which gets such great reviews on Yelp).  While it was okay, it was not anything special.   The room was really too dark to even see what you were eating.  We had the bread pudding for desert....again, it was okay.  Not even close to the bread pudding at Silo Elevated Cuisine.  We also had the guacamole which was pretty good BUT Chevy's is MUCH better!

Worst service I've had in a long time (especially since I started using Yelp).  Our waiter, Stephen, was uninformed, not attentive, and couldn't even answer simple questions.  This may be a great place for drinking and hanging out but if you're looking for an upscale meal.....skip Boudro's!

This is probably the nicest restaurant the Riverwalk area has to offer....still lacking by San Diego's standards. (Sniff, sniff I live in the greatest city in the world. It's a fact.)

The food was fine, if not special or very memorable:

Appetizer: Table-side guacamole and chips

Entrees: Big Tails/Little Tails: a mixture of large Tiger shrimp and crawfish over garlic mashed potatoes
Lobster enchiladas
Salmon filet with vegetables

Dessert: chocolate cake

Drinks: 5 Belvedere dirty martinis and a diet coke

The food was fine, but our server seemed to have an attitude I recognized well from being a server for so many years. It's the "you're a tourist therefore you won't tip me well, therefore you get mediocre service because I'll never see you again anyway" attitude. Unfortunately the Ghost of Servers Past makes me tip 20-25% unless I see actual spit or hairballs in my food, but he could have been more attentive and focused on us.

The bill was $115 before tip....Considering my favorite part of this meal was the martini, I would have rather spent my money somewhere else. Like, anywhere in San Diego.

There are many cute and enticing little restaurants along the Riverwalk. If one is ever to visit San Antonio, I would highly recommend eating anywhere on the Riverwalk. You feel like you're in a different country, it is so quaint and charming.

I ate at Boudros on a recommendation from (hopefully) a future client. I was expecting better. I was seated immediately and the service was great. I loved my waitor as she seemed extremely knowledgeable about their food and what she likes and dislikes and she was able to answer most of my undoubtedly annoying questions.

The food was just OK. I was definitely expecting better, especially given the price. They aren't cheap. There wasn't a ton of selection which was disappointing especially given how picky I am. But, I did find a few things I would eat and went with the shrimp and crab enchiladas. Like I said, they were just OK.

My favorite part of the meal was the blueberry creme brulee. That was yummy. I also enjoyed my top shelf margaritas. Well worth the extra $1.

I probably wouldn't go back because I like a restaurant with lots of selection. I am interested in quality but I am not the type that needs to eat at the poshest, most expensive restaurants. I am pretty low maintenance so I would choose another restaurant but I wouldn't pass this restaurant up solely based on this review. Check out the menu and see if anything looks tantalizing.

Some colleagues and I popped in here for lunch one day. We licked our platters clean! Wow. The food was perfectly seasoned and beautifully prepared. The drinks were amazing. Every single morsel that I put in my mouth was savory and delicous.
We used Boudros to cater a work function later that week for dinner. MMmm. Their guacamole was phenomenal. The meal was a success. 70 people agreed! Well done Boudros.

We had heard great things about Boudro's so we added the restaurant to our itinerary. We felt obligated to get the homemade, right in front of you, guacamole and both my girlfriend and i were unimpressed. It really lacked taste, and we did not finish it. The other flop was the drinks we ordered. While my girlfriend chose wisely and ordered a Prickly Pear Margarita i decided to go bold and order a STRAWBERRY CAIPIRINHA, YUCK. Probably the most expensive bad drink i have ever had.

As for the food, i ordered the prime rib, and it was very tasty, and my girl Friend had the seafood platter, she enjoyed everything except for the fresh catch, which was seasoned in a way that made it very bitter.

Overall the restaurant had an amazing atmosphere and as long as you stay away from the caipirinha you should have a good experience. I also recommend calling and making reservations.

i'm the sure the prime rib was their speciality but they were out of it...and plus, i don't feel like eating much in the heat wave.

waiter filled the water glass whenever it got low.  beer took a while since they were busy..  the waiter gave us a free tequila shot for the wait.  ooh..

the appetizer grilled seacakes (crabcakes) was fairly good.  three bluecrab cakes in a sauce with a coleslaw-like side and salsa.

duck three ways was a light and interesting twist on duck.  3 ways: roasted duck, duck chili, duck eggroll.  it was served with a mixed green salad with balsamic viniagrette that complimented the dish well.

i wish i had room for dessert...  =p

Over-priced food by the riverwalk, but we were close and tried it out.

The prickly pear margarita is good, and one of the better ones in most restaurants. The guacamole lives up to its reputation, freshly made and very light and tasty. My girl and I bent it over and raped the bowl. It was not a pretty sight.

The grilled quail was tender, nicely seasoned, and yummy. However the dark sauce they paired it with ruined the dish due to it's way over-powering bitterness.

The seacakes made with crab tasted very plain, and I was quite sure that was not 100% lump crab like the menu stated. There was clearly some white fish in there. The salad it came with was bland and nothing to write home about.

The gumbo with sausage and duck was quite sour, and a bit heavy on the salt. There are fried seafood restaurants who make a much better bowl of gumbo than this place.

The bread pudding. Very nice finish. Soft, moist, and almost buttery with a rich creamy whiskey sauce. Definitely one of the top bread puddings I've had, and I do like my bread puddings.

If i was forced to eat here again, the only repeats are the guacamole, the margarita, and the bread pudding dessert. Everything else was priced too high and not too appetizing.
