Their Citrus Pistachio Brioche is the best.

It was a bitter sweet experience eating it since Bouchon will be opening in LA this week without a Bouchon Bakery. Why TK oh why would you not put a Bouchon Bakery in LA. ):

Any how...They had just two left with our names written all over them.

Too bad those were the only ones left bc we wanted to take a few with us on the road.

But I sure am happy I was able to get one. They are so delightful.

If I could just live on Washington Street, I'd wake up everyday with a smile, knowing I'd trot down to Bouchon Bakery for some yummy goodness!  Everything is delicious and even your doggy can eat well with home baked foie gras treats!

When you visit, you must try then Almond croissant with chocolate!  It is to die for!

I can't rave enough about this bakery!  EVERYTHING is baked to perfection!

From the super soft on the inside but perfect crunch on the outside baguettes, to the sweet but not too overly sweet brownie bites, to the soft w/various grenache filled macaroons, to the fresh fruit tarts, to the perfectly made giant cookies...ALL so heavenly!

This is a MUST stop every time we are in wine country!

I'm a woman. I like sweet stuff.

As a sweet stuff-loving woman, I give Bouchon Bakery a big fat smiley face licking its lips.

Their financiers are wonderful.
...as are their macarons (they have pumpkin right now!)
...and madelines
...and croissants
... and pretty much everything I've shoved in my maw from this amazing bakery.

Their sandwiches are also pretty delicious. I had the steak sandwich recently and for a pre-made sandwich, I was impressed. They grilled it for me (thank you) and the fresh bread plus tender roast beef plus caramelized onions were a happy family.

They even sell jars of salmon rillette and foie gras! However, the foie gras jar is 50 bucks. Not sure many people are lining up for that, but it's still a nice novelty.

My only complaint is that there's always a gaggle of confused tourists blocking the glorious display of baked goods and treats.

Thomas Keller really knows how to make macaroons.  They're light and crispy on the outside and tender and chewy inside with the most decadent filling.  My favorites are the espresso and hazelnut macaroons.  Their signature bouchons are also yummy.  They're little cork-shaped brownies with lots of chocolatey flavor.  They also have a bunch of sandwiches that can be pressed to order.  Just beware of the lines that flow out the door.  When I was last there, the girls behind the counter weren't as efficient as they probably should have been.

I am giving them four stars alone for their foi gras mini dog biscuits as Benji really loved those a lot and he's normally very picky and dislikes dog biscuits.

The bakery itself has outstanding bread and lots of different desserts. We were only able to try the macaroons (blueberry and pistachio) which were rather disappointing. They were three times the size of regular ones but the fillings did not seem to have much flavor and we couldn't distinguish the blueberry or pistachio in it. They seemed to have used artificial coloring in them as the blue was very blue as was the green. I think we both still prefer La Boulange's in SF.

Although we will be back for more biscuits for Benji, fresh french bread as well as to try their much talked about sandwiches!

Good but not extraordinary. Overpriced, but it's Yountville. Cute shop. Your paying for the brand and the marketing. Macarons were too sweet (yes possible).

No bakery in the bay area has been able to beat the quality of goodness found at La Boulangerie in Fresno, in my educated opinion.

My favorite bakery in the bay area - hands down, one of the best sandwiches and desserts. Bouchon Bakery reminded me of the streets of Paris.

As soon as you enter the store, the smell of fresh bread and yummy desserts starts to wreak havoc on your salivary glands - as if the invisible hand of a world class baker guiding you in. Once you are in the store, you are like a kid in a candy store - don't know where to start.

The turkey sandwiches just melts in your mouth. Fresh meat and cheese along with the savory sauces is pure heaven. And the desserts - it would be injustice to put it in words.

This is my second trip and I will visit again.

So you're wondering if you should take the long drive out to Bouchon Bakery from wherever you are in the Bay Area. Well you should do it, but just once.

The pre-made sandwich was rather blah in my opinion. I had the ham and cheese, and the cheese wasn't melty even though it was pressed, and it was just way too salty. My sister's tomato and bree was simple and good though. So I would recommend either asking for an extra long pressing, or just avoiding the sammies all together.

I had a pretty decent selection of deserts so let me break it down:
TKO (Thomas Keller's take on an Oreo): The chocolate was so intense to the point where it just tasted smoky. The cookie part is hard like a shortbread; the filling is a really light buttercream. Guess what happens when you pair a hard cookie with a soft filling? Yup, thats right, it just goes squish with one bite and you now have filling on your pants instead of your cookie. This cookie is beginning to sound erotic at this point. It is not. Alton Brown broke this down in his sandwich episode, squishable spreads on squishable breads. Come on now.

Nutter butter: This is two big soft peanut butter cookies with a peanut butter buttercream. This works better than the TKO, but its still not a mind-blowingly good cookie. If you really like peanut butter, go for it. If not, rule this one a pass.

Bouchon: Imagine those two bite brownies that the Sugar Bowl makes. Ok now imagine that with a more intense chocolate flavor and less sweeter. You now have the Bouchon. The chocolate was again too smoky for me, it was like a brownie taking itself way too seriously.

Macarons: These are delicious. Caramel and vanilla. SO AMAZING. The cookie is just so soft and delicate, and with the perfectly flavored buttercream... wow. These are the best macarons. Paulette's in SF doesn't really compare. Again, the chocolate was too overpowering though so definitely go for the lighter flavors since its such a light cookie.

On weekend morning's right when they open, they have a small batch of donuts that are supposed to be amazing (Apple, Chocolate, etc). So if you can go super early on a weekend, do it. I might squabble with you over the last donut though since I'm dying to try one.

I walked by the night prior and looked in the window. Sure enough! They do bake these delicacies late at night and fill the store case with the sweets for the morning sleepheads to enjoy on the front patio under the trees.
We had about 5 or 6 pastries and for the area it was very reasonably priced at 21 bucks. Including coffee. Filled to the brim with strudels, croissants, muffins of every kind, sweets and little sandwiches. Stop in here for breakfast or brunch or for whatever you want to call it, but JUST GO! It was fantastic! I ate 3 huge things. The bacon and cheddar scone, blueberry muffin and the strawberry and almond croissant (http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Absolutely magnificient!!!!

During our visit to Napa this weekend, our friends and my guy and I realized we needed a little snack to get through more wine tasting.
My genius hubby remembered we had been to this place, and liked the few things we had, and also that they had sandwiches.

We decided to spilt a tomato and brie sandwich. It's served on a small, but luscious baguette. The girl behind the counter told us most of their sandwiches can be "pressed" , so we decided to go with that option.

Wow, was this tasty! My guy doesn't even like brie, and he loved this sandwich!

We remembered we had adored the TKO's, and decided to spilt one of those too.
I don't eat real sweets very often, but OMG....This was as good as I remembered!

My friend had a decadent chocolate macaroon too.
I would definitely get one of those on my next visit...and there will absolutely be a next visit.

It's pricey, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Over hyped and overpriced baked goods.  Sure, I love their giant macaroons, delicious sticky buns, and fresh croissants, but I'm not a big fan of the long lines and all the tourists that crowd this place.  I still have to try the rest of their products.  I like coming here early Sunday mornings when their goods are fresh out of the oven and there is no line to be found.

Their bread pudding is my favorite thing here!! On my last visit to the bakery, I had tried their coffee eclair, strawberry croissant, and a few of their macaroons, but their bread pudding is definitely the winner! Every time i come into this little shop, I can't help but want to order one of everything! Being right next to The French Laundry, Bistro Jeanty, and Ad Hoc, I can't resist stopping in right before we're about to eat dinner. Definitely not a good idea, but sooo worth it!

ps. the carmel macaroon is the best out of all the macaroon flavors ;)

I'm going to start off with a funny story about when I was at Bouchon Bakery:

There was a long line of people in the bakery and I just so happen to be behind a couple who you can tell was "well to do".  They were purchasing a lot of goodies.  Well...on top of the refrigerated counter are also a lot of various goodies which also included Dog Treats.  The husband/boy friend ask the women behind the counter "what are those" and she responds..."oh they're free treats for your dog"....in his haste I don't think he heard her say "for your dog" and he immediately opens the jar grabs one...and pops it into his mouth and grabs one for his wife/girlfriend and she take a bite.  The reaction on the workers face was priceless....I saw the sign that read "Bouchon dog biscuits" but I guess they didn't.  The girlfriend even commented on how good it was.  I just grinned and made eye contact with the worker and she didn't know what to say.

I was really impressed by the worker because after she completed her transaction with them she pulled the couple aside and whispered into their ear about what they had just eaten and got them some water.  I couldn't help but laugh inside. I know I'm a jerk.

ANYWAY....Bouchon Bakery was awesome.  I had an almond croissant and my wife had a chocolate chip cookie.  She claims it the best cookie she's ever had but I would have to say it was good...but not the best.  The latte that we got was a good also.

If you're in Napa you have to check out Bouchon...but be sure not to eat the Dog biscuits!

Long line usually indicates something good
but this time, it's just a hyped up brand. The almond croissant was
a bit salty, flaky but where's the butter taste like
Tartine? The macaron woah is that how its suppose to taste,
pure sugar? I couldn't really taste the flavor because all you get is
the overpowering sweetness of grainy sugar.

I was a sucker and Meh is the word.

OMG THE CARAMEL MACARON! One word: FANTASTIC! And yes, it is Macaron, not Macaroon. http://www.wasabimon.c...

Bread pudding was delicious as well, but each bite of the caramel macaron was a bite of pure heaven. I wish I got a BILLION MORE!!

The brioche with sugar on top (forgot what it was called) was dry and not that good. Just get another caramel macaron instead!

If you're in napa, PLEASE stop by and get a caramel macaron. It will make your day no matter how obnoxious boys can be.

When I first came in, I was in sugar and pastry heaven and overwhelmed on what to choose. I decided to get a chocolate bouchon, a cream cheese danish, a mocha flavored macaroon, and a small vanilla latte.

The chocolate bouchon is like a mini chocolate brownie bite and very moist, rich, and chocolatey in the middle. Cream cheese danish was fantastic as well. It's somewhat small compared to other danishes I have had, but it was good. I loved the cream cheese in the middle. My favorite was the mocha flavored macaroon. The cookies were so soft and delicious with every bite. The mocha was their special flavor of the day. I could seriously eat these all day long. I tried my friend's vanilla macaroon and thought the mocha was better. Also I took a bite of the chocolate tart and was on chocolate overload, very rich chocolate ganache. The latte was okay, nothing too special.

I'm definitely coming back here for more of the macaroons especially the caramel one. Also I want to try one of the eclairs, their croissants, and in fact, everything!

They have the biggest macaroons I've ever seen! My girls and I visited this small but packed bakery on our day trip to Napa. The day was scorching and we really should have gone to an ice cream shop but here we were anyway. Can't pass up the chance to eat these famed desserts!

I already knew I only wanted to eat the macaroons but I bought a chocolate eclair anyway. I felt it was my duty to try something else before the main course. What a waste it turned out to be. I'm sure it was good but all I did was scarf down the thing so I could get to my pistachio and caramel macraoons faster. I'm a fool.

The pistachio had a great nutty flavor and it was just awesome eating such a huge macaroon. The caramel one was too sweet for me which doesn't happen often. They're also a little dense, not as light as the ones I'm used to. Lastly, and this is nothing the bakery had control over but the heat made the cream in the middle melt and drip all over the place (thankfully not on me)!

What confirmed the three stars: Weeks later, my bf came back from Vegas with a box of these macaroons for me (there's a Bouchon at the Venetian). It came with some flavors I never would have picked like chocolate, mocha, and lemon. These turned out to be my least favorites like expected. The flavors were overpowering the delicateness of a macaroon. The same happened for the other flavors that I'd normally love. Maybe I stand alone but they just didn't do it for me.

Bouchon bakery is a must if you are visiting Napa. I can't help but stop by every time I'm in Napa. Everything from the sandwiches to the cookies have been incredible. The only bakery in Northern California that can compete with it is Tartine.

My favorites have been the hazelnut macaroon, chocolate eclair and lemon tart. Highly recommended.

I visited Bouchon when I was in Napa recently and ordered nine macarons. Yes, nine. What can I say, I love macarons. When I got home I opened my box and to my dismay, instead of a box of delectable cookies I saw two fig tarts. And let me make this clear, I hate figs. I just never really took to them and David Chang is right, everyone in San Francisco puts figs on a plate and calls it fine dining. Anyway, I was so upset so I called the bakery and the manager was so nice and overnighted me a box of macarons free of charge and even threw in a package of bouchon for me as well. Great service and amazing pastries? Five stars.

I wish I could give it 3.5, but decided to round it up to a 4 because I had a good weekend.  Always wanted to go here after eating at Bouchon and reading reviews, etc....  I must say, the almond croissant is pretty good.  It's not the best I have had, but not the worst.  Just good.  We also picked up some Eppi bread, which lasted the rest of the day in the car, (6-7 hours), and the 1.5 hour drive home.  I had to take a bite before it dried up over night (preventive measures taken by bagging it in plastic bags).

It was very good, but a bit on the hard side (referring to the crust).  Maybe I should have started eating it right when I got it like the guy in front of me at 9am.  He started picking at it as soon as he bolted out the door and ran across the street.

Bouchon Bakery hands down makes the best chocolate almond croissants. I have a serious weakness for sweets. I walked in not very hungry and walked out with 2 scones and a croissant. The cherry chocolate chip scone and the bacon cheddar scone was a nice combo of savory and sweet. I make a visit to Keller's bakery everytime I visit Napa. It is a really convenient place to stop for a quick bite before you start a long day of wine tasting.

I didn't buy the bread but got the free bread for dining in at Bouchon. It was very toasty and fresh. It went really well with butter or eat it just the way it comes in. The braided shape was perfect for sharing because it was easy to peel off.

My friends got some of their gigantic macaroons. It tasted like ice cream in the middle...like an ice cream sandwich. Nice on a hot day which was hot on the day we visited. He got a few in different colors. I took a picture of them and turned out so colorful and nice.

I was tempted to buy all their pastries but I controlled myself. Everything looked so good in there.

It was good. Judging by everyone's reviews I would say that I agree, the macaroons are terrific. I have had every flavor, and I would say the vanilla is the best. It is like the best vanilla wafer you every had as a kid.
We also tried the salmon in a jar with clarified butter for 19.00 on one of the sourdough rolls. It was okay. Simple, and good flavors.
If you go there, they have a great patio and you can also use the really cute bathrooms located on the outside.
The mocha and cap's where just okay. The girl behind the counter described them as mind blowing. When I drank it, I thought "average" or as mind blowing as an episode of Oprah.

Not having enough room nor time to enjoy dessert at Bouchon after lunch, we dashed off to our appointment at Revana, drank and bought a ridiculous amount of wine, crashed a private tasting at Chase, drank and bought a ridiculous amount of wine, then arrived at Martini House for a pre-dinner snack and cocktails.

The girls got the craving for sweets at 6:20pm. Bouchon Bakery closes at 7pm. What to do?! Run off to Bouchon after ordering food and stock up, then return. No small feat with horrible summer traffic on 29 and Yountville being 15 miles away. Fortunately, the car gods had smiled on us - our friend offered to let me take his modded out 911! I took off with two girls in tow, snagging the last of the macarons, a bag of shortbread, a bag of the famous Chocolate Bouchons and a lemon tart. We returned to still-warm entrees with the spoils of victory and devoured it all.

Parisian macarons are my favorite cookie, and another object of my obsession (in order, hamburgers, macarons, and dry-aged steak cooked blue). The macarons at Bouchon are HUGE. Excellent flavor and texture - crisp meringue, slightly chewy and moist inside with fine air bubbles and no large air pockets - the mark of craftsmanship. The buttercream filling was light, true to flavor and not too sweet, just perfect.

I think I can die now. I've achieved macaron nirvana having found a place close to home (Laduree is too far) where I can indulge my cravings.

Without much of a breakfast spot, this has taken the lion's share of early morning foods with good coffee, pastries, and an outdoor seating area that you want to be seen at.  Try the fruit and nut pastries (pistachio and strawberry, etc).

As much as I'm not a fan of this town (village?), Bouchon bakery is a necessary pit stop on the way up to Calistoga for my family.

Yes, they do have some of the best bread made on this continent, but the clientele as well as employees make the French look like the nicest people ever...

Of note are the epis and walnut bread, macarons, and bread pudding...the price is non-issue when experiencing quality like Bouchon.

Mmmm. So good.  I would give this a 3 stars normally, but I was in a good mood that weekend and the service was pretty great.  I am surprised when people said that the employees were being very rude.

My fat ass got a TLC cookie, a chocolate eclair, and a fig tart.  First off, the eclair and cookie were effin awesome.  The cookie reminded me of pecan pie with a bunch of crust (which is my favorite part) and the eclair was just delicious.  The fig tart was beautiful, but the taste did not meet my expectations after it looked so appetizing. One thing I can say about it though is that its sweetness was just right.  I believe they were all fairly priced, but with the tart leaning a little onto overpriced.  I was surprised with the price of their Bouchon chocolate brownie thing.  It was $2 for a 1"x2" shaped cylinder thing.  Ehh.  It wasn't even that good.

The only complaint I have about Bouchon Bakery were the sour looks from the employees and other customers while I was in the building.

Am I too young (just shy of 30)? Am I not dressed up enough for you? Are you offended that I don't have 3 carat diamonds in my ears? What's the deal? Either way, anyone working here who thinks they're God's Gift to, well, pastry or anything else certainly, needs a reminder that they're are the one serving ME pastries and coffee. Have a little respect and please get off your high-horse and loose the attitudes.

ANYWAY- As far as the pastries go, really delightful. The macrons were delicious, brioche roll was fluffy, airy perfection, and the bacon cheddar scone was the perfect merriment of sweet and savory.

When I return, hopefully sans nastiness, I'm looking forward to the Nutter Butter cookie and a tart or two. I hope my next visit is a lot more positive.

I heard of this bakery and almost forgot to put it on my TO GO list! Luckily i was on yelp and this bakery kept popping up.

Its a tiny bakery, and it fits about 4 people inside the bakery while the rest makes a line outside. Its a little annoying when people that came later than you give you the stink eye because you are at beginning ordering until your heart is content ... Its nice having only one person there to help you! it makes the experience even more better, like you're a valued customer.

However, because i love sweets, i memorized everything i wanted to order, but if you weren't like me, you would have a hard time moving from the front of the line to the back of the line to remember what you want to order. I ordered the Chocolate Bouchon, Raisin au Pain, two macarons, bread pudding, strawberry pistachio fruit tart, all for $25, decent price, its the same as i were to get it at any bakery in the bay area.

Every bite was as satisfying as the next, i should be glad this is far away, otherwise i would be here everyday eating away my life. The bread pudding is amazing, there were faint hints of vanilla, and it wasn't too sweet either. the Chocolate Bouchon was like a soft browning that wasn't too crumbly and not overly sweet. The strawberry pistachio tart was delicious, it was not overly sweet and the tart crust was buttery and hard enough to hold its shape, as for the cream it was Amazing!! Overall this bakery is amazing and I will always come back for more!

Incredible pastries. (I don't want to think about the amount of butter they use here!)

Enjoyed a chocolate almond croissant, strawberry croissant, bacon cheddar scone, and pain a raisin with my husband. All of it was delicious. I think the pain a raisin was my favorite but both croissants were right up there.

If you're in the area definitely swing by. There can be a long line but it's worth the wait.

OMG....If you haven't tried Bouchon Bakery, you MUST go there!

I heard so much about this place, and I finally got to go for myself.  The minute I stepped inside, my eyes lit up!  There were so many desserts, I went a little overboard.  I got a pistachio macaroon, mocha macaroon, hazelnut macaroon, bread pudding, apple tart, and the salmon rillette.  And that was all for me!

I was good and didn't eat everything in one sitting.  My favorites were the bread pudding and the pistachio macaroon.  After eating the pistachio, I wished I had bought more.  It was soooo good!  I can't wait to go back!!!!  I love this place!

I don't order desserts at Bouchon even if I eat my main meals there. I will go to the bakery next door for the desserts.  They have great macaroons and eclairs. They are delicious, but pretty steep at $3 per macaroon.
