Got turned around from a McMennamin's Edgefield trip by some concert or event and decided to stop at the first pizza place I saw on the way home. Boston Pizza it was, and it was good. Attached to a sports bar and sporting some well-loved vinyl booth cushions, I can see how Boston Pizza might be a regular spot for residents of Fairview.

They roll the pizza dough out right in front of you and do their best to give you a deal (12" for $10!). They pile on the cheese (my favorite part) and don't go overboard on the sauce. Very friendly and accommodating service. I think my Portlandy appearance may have weirded out the pizza guy, but he covered it well enough. Good spot for a Fairview pizza stop.

First off, it's important to clarify that this is a hole-in-the-wall joint to pick up pizza to go, not a place to stay and eat it, leftover vinyl booth seats and one table-for-two notwithstanding.  Carolyn W.'s generous review kind of suggests otherwise, at least the way I read it.  I almost dragged my kids there, which would have been a mistake for us.

With that out of the way, I'll say that the pizza itself was tasty, and the fact that the crust was both thin and soft proved compelling to the pizza connoisseurs waiting at our hotel for me to return.  But the dreary setting (very sad strip mall), the cigarette smokers loitering outside, and the indifferent staff (no attempt to estimate how long our order would take) made hanging out at Boston Pizza mildly unpleasant.

A side note:  I have had half-and-half pizzas made before that use different sauces (it takes a bit of effort to spread the sauces on each half), but Boston Pizza will decline if you ask for it.
