Fun, green, efficient and locally owned and operated. These things need to stay, and grow. Have had good drivers and bad ones, same as any type of cab. Bottom line: this business is helping us all be better in every way.

What a great way to get around Boston on a nice Spring weekend.
Wonderful driver/biker brought us from Fenway Park directly to Rattlesnake on Boylston. We laughed and "raced" some of the other pedi-cabs..... and we came in #1.... wish I could have said the same for the Red Sox.
big fan of getting around the city this way..... pay what you think it is worth $20 bucks is what I gave and it was worth every penny for the pictures we took -

Want to know the best way to see Boston? Hire a Boston Pedicab tour of the sights....and when you do, make sure to ask for Bryan.
Skip the Duck Tour and don't bother walking the Freedom Trail, book a Pedicab.
I had a 30-minute tour of the North End, from Ironsides, to the Old North Church and Bunker Hill Monument. Bryan is a smart, resourceful, engaging tour guide with a witty sense of humor and in depth knowledge of Boston's history and trivia.
You see the city from a point-of-view that's one in a million...you're in the open air and travelling fast enough to keep it interesting but slow enough to take in a 180-degree view.
I'd strongly recommend anyone that visits Boston should book a Boston Pedicab tour...and when you call to make a reservation (although you need one), be sure to ask for Bryan.

I took a pedicab ride this evening. It was approximately 1 mile long, straight up Boylston St. It took less than 10 minutes. At the end of the trip, I gave the driver $8. She said something to the effect of, "Well, a cab would cost at least $10. But whatever you want." I never take cabs. I have no ideal what they cost. But I played along and explained that I only had $20's - could she make change? I said I wanted $10 back. At first she tried to take an ADDITIONAL $10 from me - for a total of $18. I explained that I wanted to give her $10 total. She practically threw the money at me and started driving away as she muttered, "Thanks a lot. Next time you can take a cab."
Maybe I was stingy, maybe not. I don't care and that's not really the point. Regardless, this was an unacceptably rude experience, and the opposite of how you build a positive reputation and good will with your clientele.
Here's an idea: Embrace a "pay what you want" model and then insult people who pay what they honestly think is a fair price. Good luck with that!
Y'know, I just might take a cab next time. Thanks for the suggestion, a-hole! -

During the summer, I basically live my life on these pedal-powered cabs.
It's faster than walking, will save you more time than waiting in traffic, and is environmentally friendly. The best part though, by far, is how fun the ride is! The drivers are fun, flirtatious, and boy oh boy are they cute!
Even if you don't have a destination in mind, you can ask your driver to just ride around for 10-15 minutes. They run pretty late; they're always zipping about, offering rides to silly-drunk Asian chicks stumbling out of cheesy Boylston bars. (Err, me.)
And trust me, pedicab is the way to go after a long night out. It will save not only your feet (all that treacherous cobblestone navigating!) but your heels will also thank you in the morning for not wrecking them in a tipsy mess.
The seats themselves are very roomy, so take advantage of the space after a long day of shopping on Newbury. The pedicabs run on pay-as-you-please rates, but just remember to be generous; these guys work hard and the cash is DEFINITELY worth the ride! Plus, did I mention they're cute as hell? :)
Call when you get your check during dinner and they promise to be there by the time you get out. Just watch out when the Sox are playing; all their cabs usually stay in the Fenway area. -

My new favorite means of transport... bicycle-powered rickshaw thingees with seating for two. Pedicab drivers work solely on tips... there's no haggling or negotating fares. Don't abuse this, I generally try to pay what it would cost to take a cab.
Favorite use: Catching a pedicab from near the Pru or Hynes Convention Center to Fenway and then back again Makes a 15-minute walk on a hot day into a pleasant 5-min ride.
If you call the number listed, they can also dispatch a pedicab to your location. -

Let's face facts people, this is totally worth it. PediCab is for everyone.
If three grown men can squeeze into a two-seater on a chilly November evening, huddle awkwardly under a small fleece blanket, AND have a great time... you can too! Just don't be alarmed by the strange looks you will receive. Also, if you value comfort I don't suggest trying to fit three peeps.
Give these guys a shot. There's no official pricing policy, which I think, works to their benefit. -

Yet another great experience! This time, I was walking home from a Yelp Elite event after having had a few Negronis and Martinis (hey, I had to try all that Bombay Sapphire had to offer...) and it was late and I was TIRED! Luckily, Greg was there to help a sister out and very easily convinced me I needed a ride in his pedicab. Amazing customer service once again. Did I mention he even gave me some water from his giant jug of water?! A +!

Thanks Boston Pedicab for a fun ride as part of a special occasion. You went the extra mile with helping coordinate the ride and the driver was a lot of fun.

The greenest way to get around the city! Let these boys pick you up and bring you to your destination while getting a beautiful tour of the city.
One of my favorite summer activities is calling on these handsome guys to bring me out. For dollars you get a cute boy and sometimes a rickshaw with a stereo system attached.
It is the perfect way to make an entrance! -

I can't wait for pedi-cab weather again! This has been my favorite thing about Boston, easily.
Cute bike messenger guys, quick transport, cool night air in your face, so great.
Give your guy a fat tip too, they're worth it and so appreciative. -

you have 6 little ol' martinis and all a' hell breaks loose... for the record, i do not recommend you use these services in weather below 30 degrees.. especially in the presence of sleet.. at 2 in the a.m...
unless:
you're unthinkably drunk like i was, in which case you will laugh like a total ass the entire way to china town, loudly discussing the firmness of your drivers butt cheeks.. and loosing various objects along the way.. such as, say, a shoe, a phone, your dignity.. and not caring.
you pay what you think is appropriate- be generous ya'll. this is green and these dudes work hard.
what a great idea- 5 stars for firm butts and zero emissionsListed in: bored?..

I have been writing back and forth with a few people about this business. They are part of this promotion called "BeanTown is GreenTown" If you go on a Pedicab tour and say 'beantown is greentown' you can get a like $5 off! here is the myspace, i also posted a another thing they are doing under the clothing store Envi on Newbury St.

I'll give them 2 stars instead of 1 because it is a quick way to get around Boston and they are eco-friendly. Other than that, my friend and I had a terrible experience. We took a pedi-cab from Hanover & Atlantic Ave to around South Station. The whole way there our driver was weaving in and out of traffic, not sure if he was trying to show off but he was scaring us and he knew it. He kept flying down the road in between cars with VERY little space on either side - let's just say if my hand was holding the side of the seat it would have probably gotten cut off. He also took us up the curb onto the sidewalk just for "fun". Overall it was pretty scary to be in the backseat of that thing. It felt like we were either going to tip over or get in an accident. The driver was very friendly to us during the ride but he was not considerate of our requests to slow down or stop weaving around cars.
They operate on tips only, so at the end of the ride we gave the driver $7. We thought that was fair since a cab would have been about $7 - but he had kind of a rude response and just sped off leaving us feeling like we short-changed him. -

No BS--I drove in the pedi cab for my very first time last night and I had a BLAST! It was a great spring night--probably a balmy 68-70 degrees and my date and I were coming from Emack and Bolios on State Street and needed to walk all the way back to Tremont (near the movie theater aka: DUMB FAR). And who do we see across the way waving for us? The Pedi Cab! Riding in the pedi cab, the breeze in our faces made me feel like we were driving with our top down in a fancy car. Not to mention the most important part--our driver, Alessandra, was THE absolute BEST! She's an awesome conversationalist and she made us feel like we were long time friends. We actually made a connection doing a little 6 degrees of separation, but I'm sure even if we didn't find that connection she still would've been just as friendly, open, and honest as she was with us to begin with! My date and I had SO much fun and she truly made an already good evening, a GREAT evening and provided us with top notch, door-to-door service! Couldn't have asked for a better ride. Looking to find her again when I'm out and about in Boston. Alessandra. The driver you can't live without!!! :)
