I just came to Boston for a quick weekend with my girlfriend. Never been to Boston so I wanted to see the city and my girlfriend really wanted to do this tour. I didn't really think it would be any good but I went along. Might as well say yes cause I'm not going win. We got there and started the Tour. I really enjoyed how they showed movie clips on the bus of the sites you were seeing. The Bus driver gave you plenty of time to take pictures while inside the bus. The tour guide Dave was funny. He told one joke and my girlfriend called her sister right away to tell her. Dave the tour guide knew his stuff and made the people laugh. It was cool to go to the L street tavern and to see Southie. I am glad we took this tour and saw so much of the city. Actually made friends on the Tour bus and went out for cocktails after the tour ended. Dave and the Movie tour really made for a enjoyable day. Thanks again

As a movie buff me and my Gf couldn't wait to go on movie tour Boston, as great as the tour was our tour guide Dave made it even better.....although his favorite movie is tremors and actor is Kevin Bacon we still liked him....I got picked to reinact a scene from the departed(winning) and had a blast , all our fav actors were brought up and loved it and I got my marky mark fix taken care of....so as a suggestion I would recomend everybody to take tour and if possible request Dave bc he made it even.better ........plus Dave and I will always have our sales dressing moment lol

Took this tour with my daughter whom is living here in Boston temporarily. It was a pleasantly surprising tour. We traveled on a bus equipped with two drop-down monitors that played clips of the movies corresponding to the locations we visited. The guide Dave was very knowledgeable and quite an entertaining character.

This tour was a lot of fun. I've lived in Boston for a long time now and done a lot of touristy stuff, but this was very different and gave a different perspective.
I liked how much of the city we covered, and how the bus took you away from the traditional tourist areas. It was great to go to South Boston to see where they filmed a scene from 'Good Will Hunting' (especially because that was a bar and they left time to get a drink).
During the tour the guide will ask trivia questions and whoever answers the most right gets a prize at the end. I thought that was a fun way to keep people involved and interested (and I'm really psyched that I got to take home a trophy!) -

My wife and I hit the Boston Movie Tour Bus and we had an awesome two guides. It was a stand up comedian and a lady that was going on to be a broadcast journalist.
We stopped at the L Street Tavern from Good Will Hunting and some stops from the Departed.
They showed cool clips from movies and the drove by the locations they were filmed at.
We stopped for a beer at the L Street Tavern and it was an old style bar with only liquor. You don't see that too often in Minneapolis.
The guides really made the tour and they did trivia contests throughout that made it that much better.
It was also fun seeing the south side area. Loved it! -

Our tour guide was a little on the movie-snob side, somewhat horrified that we hadn't seen The Departed yet. With that said, he knew a lot about Boston movies and I learned a lot more then I knew going in.
The tour lasted about 2.5 hours, starting in Boston Common, then taking a bus around every corner of the city. We stopped a total of three places: the L street tavern (Good Will Hunting), some other place where someone from the Departed fell off a building, and by the bay where a portion of some Rock movie was filmed.
At the end you're dropped off at the very crowded and overwhelming Cheers (but you get 15% off with you BMT id).
Overall it was a neat tour, somewhat worth the $40, but wouldn't be my first choice. Do a duck tour. -

Although I live and work in Boston, I decided to go on this tour with my son. We both love movies and I wanted to see what this was all about. They may want to change the name of this tour to "The Departed" tour. Most of it was a highlight of all the locations this movie was filmed. Which is quite a few I must admit.
The tour starts on the Boston Common and takes you through all parts of downtown and even to Southie, passing famous spots of movies. All the while, they have two drop down televisions that show clips of various parts of movies. It was cool to visit the L Street Pub from Good Will Hunting and see various spots of TV shows and hear some interesting trivia. The tour guide kept this tour vibrant with different facts and even allowed the people on the tour lend a hand with facts, giving out tour dollars and adding each up at the end to give prizes for the winners. There were some parts of this tour that seemed like I was just watching different movie clips and not getting the full effect of the "on location" feel. For 2.5 hours, it was pretty good and although the prices are a little steep, you do get a nice tour of the city. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to witness a little of Hollywood in Beantown. -
