Review from Joshua D.
San Francisco, CA
BMOP provides Boston its primary venue for hearing 20th century and contemporary music. Concerts contain a mix of classics -- Xenakis, Bartok, Cage, Villa-lobos -- and modern pieces. They also debut works by their own composer-in-residence, and other contemporary writers of music.
In addition to full orchestral performances, BMOP organizes small chamber concerts several times a year at Club Cafe. These events are no joke, and not to be missed. Go early to get a good seat, or, better, a table. You'll meet musicians, composers, and conductors, as well as the odd listener like me. -

Wow! BMOP is a young orchestra playing contemporary music from young composers. I saw them last night at Jordan Hall and they were phenomenal. I'm going to see them every chance I get, and recommend you try it as well.

BMOP is one of the kind! Artist Director/Conductor Gil Rose is an amazing musician who supports young contemporary composers. His orchestra plays rare & gifted music. Cheers to all the hard works, BMOP!!
