Review from Miss T.

I went there for a function not overnight. The food was amazing. The dessert wasn't impressed.
The greeting staff just nice. However, they could have been a bit more upbeat or pleasant. The bartendar was very nice!!!!!
The room was nice and neat. -

When we were heading to the Haunted Happenings Halloween celebration in Salem, Ma, I found this hotel to be priced really reasonable and crossed my fingers it would be one of the updated ones.
Luckily it was updated and when we pulled up front it does look a little sterile for a hotel, but once inside it was really nice. They had it all decked out for Halloween.
The front desk was great and they asked us what floor we wanted since other people hadn't checked in yet, but they were sold out. Thought that was pretty cool, usually we just get cow prodded into whatever room the hotels want us in.
We chose the first floor and this was a good choice, we were able to get in and out of there without marathon sprints down the hallway to the elevators.
I am super picky about bed comfort and I actually liked their beds. We had a King Size bed piled with a mountain of pillows. We stayed there 5 nights and all of them were comfortable.
I am not sure why other reviewers had worn out rooms, ours looked newly updated and my husband can attest to the fact I am hyper sensitive to ganky hotels. No, not all Marriotts are created equal, but this was one of the better ones I have been in.Listed in: Hotels

I stayed here for a week and had a good experience here.
The front desk was friendly and checked me in right away. My room was clean and there was a nice big flat screen TV. Appreciated the free internet, although it would have been even better if they provided wireless internet. You have to plugged in, so you are confined to the desk if you want to be online.
Mostly I appreciated the amenities at the hotel. I took advantage of the heated indoor pool and hot tub after work. And their gym had all the cardio and free weight equipment that I needed.
One thing I wouldn't recommend is the restaurant. The food is mediocre but the prices were steep. -

I stay exclusively at Marriott hotels (110 nights so far this year) so my review of this hotel is comparing it to other Marriott properties. The bed is amazingly comfortable like all full service Marriott Hotels. Beyond that this property needs to be updated. It felt old. Decent service.

Clean, nice room.
If you ask they will give you a free fridge.
Wifi coming soon.
Food was good, but slightly pricey. -

You know, Marriott really needs to get its act together on its flagship brand. Based on the past several stays, I'd definitely choose a Courtyard Marriott or Springhill Suites than their standard brand. Marriott is now becoming synonymous with "dated, shabby, and boring".
This hotel was dark and depressing and it definitely needed a facelift. While the bathroom had been updated and there was a flatscreen TV, the common areas and the furnishings really need updating.
The only nice part was the staff, who were all pleasant and helpful. -

I think Marriott used to mean something extravagant... maybe I was just under the wrong impression.
We stayed here Halloween weekend, for our anniversary. We were told they would do something special for our anniversary, though I'm glad I didn't expect anything, because nothing was done. We even used the online service they have to ask for extra coffee, of which we got none.
We used my husband's father's Marriott points to stay here, so I have no clue how expensive it was, though I feel like it was up there. We got the breakfast room service, and spent $50 on really, really bad food. The water here was heavily chlorinated, so the tea and coffee never tasted right.
The bed was really comfortable, and the flatscreen, HD TV was nice. I think my favourite part was that the complimentary shampoo/conditioner/soap stuff was all from Bath & Body Works.... it smelled delicious! We've stayed in much better for what i'm assuming a comparable price.
The service was fine, though the housecleaning staff left old food in the hallway all day one day, which was really disgusting. The front desk was helpful, though we didn' t need much help, and there was plenty of information set out about local attractions (Halloween in Salem is a big freaking deal.)
Not as good as I expected, but it was free for us, so I wasn't hugely disappointed. I probably wouldn't go back, though. -

My experience at the Marriott in Peabody was well below what I would expect from Marriott.
The room was old, worn, and smelled of smoke despite being a non-smoking room. It was clean but very shabby. We were staying there for a wedding, and we seemed to be going to one of many wedding that the hotel was accommodating so while I can appreciate how busy it was the staff still could have been a bit more kind and helpful. When checking in I was made to feel like I was a complete annoyance.
If ever had to stay in the area again, I would stay anywhere but here. -

Had my wedding reception here recently. Everything went smoothly thanks to the fact that they have relationships with many of the vendor & the vendors have experience with them. Our coordinator, Emily, was very helpful and accomodating throughout and returned calls/emails very promplty. She did all she could to accomodate our needs and went above & beyond (even making suggestions on where to cut the cost) Just about all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful including the front desk staff. Having the reception at a hotel certainly helps guests enjoy themselves without worrying about driving home or driving to a hotel afterwards! The rooms were adequate, the hotel in general is a bit on the older side, but its still nice. The suite was huge! Overall the whole experience was great.

Aaahh...the bed was so comfortable. The service was excellent, the room was clean, and the free breakfast was good. A few minor problems were found in the room and were promptly fixed. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nice place to stay, but overpriced for area. Rooms were on the small side and the place seemed a bit dated.

I only gave this place one star because you have to. I would have given it no stars. This hotel should owe stars. This is the WORST place you can possibly stay at. You'd be better off sleeping in the woods. The staff here is incompetent and anyone who works for Marriott are all squeezed into the incompetency roller coaster for an amazingly below average experience. Good luck trying to get your Marriott rewards points if you stay here. Oh yeah, that won't happen because they will give you some stupid excuse about how you don't qualify just so they can &*#$ you over after they get their money. NEVER STAY AT A MARRIOTT!!!
