I really enjoyed my stay here. I thought it was clean, exceptionally reasonably priced, and the food at the conference I was attending and in the restaurant for brunch was very, very good
The wi-fi service sucked but that was only because I got the most clueless man ever on the phone in Atlanta where the service is based. Called back and got a very competent woman who set me up in a minute, literally.
I liked this hotel. I'd go back.

I've only stayed here once and while our suite was nice, it was not really worth the premium price as Russell H. pointed out. Other Marriotts in the area are just as nice for almost half of the price.
That said, this location has one of the absolutely best buffet breakfasts/brunches in the area. My boyfriend and I went just this afternoon and we were both stuffed for hours. Friendly service and a wide selection of ready made treats. There is also a chef ready to personalize an omelet. I can't recommend it enough.

I had a certificate to stay here for free, which i cashed in about two months ago. I have no reason to go to Burlington, and I don't even have a car, so I made a girls weekend of it with a friend of mine (who has a car). The hotel looks a little dated, but the rooms are as updated as the rest in the area, with that great new 'revive' bedding package that i like better than the heavenly bed that sheraton does.
The hotel has an indoor AND outdoor pool, a terrace off the restaurant that they are redoing, and a nice gym which is unusual (most have like 4 free weights, 1 treadmill and a bike. woo.) PS - yes i am the loser who works out at hotel gyms.
We had the buffet breakfast the next morning: expansive but not expensive. The director of the restaurant was walking around and stopped by to say hello. He was cool and when we pointed out the terrace he talked about the redo and how they are redoing the whole restaurant too (it's very 1987 chic). the rest of the staff was friendly as well, pretty typical of the Marriott service I've found.

I was actually disappointed by this Marriott. For a frequent Marriott guest, I found this property to be acceptable, but not worth the premium price it charges compared to other hotels in the area.

Every year I come to this hotel for a convention and every year I go away disappointed. This year was no exception. If it's not a staff member being rude or an amenity that proves non-existent, it's inconvenience and a thousand little annoyances that add up to anger.
The staff: My friends and I have had several encounters with the front desk staff that left us frustrated and annoyed. Overall, they seem to be pretty rude people and completely lacking in customer service skills. They particularly don't seem to understand about people who share a room wanting to split the bill. Even though the convention I attend has been coming there every year for over 20 years, whenever the staff is faced with two or more people attempting to pay for the same room, nothing goes right. Incompetence is bad enough, but they often add a layer of rudeness to boot.
Internet: It's good that this hotel has joined us in the 21st century by offering wired and wireless internet (which it took them a ridiculously long time to do). However, the fact that you have to pay for this service really bugs me. $10/day. I've been in some Marriotts where the Internet is free and some where you have to pay. I'm not sure who decides which it is in the end, but this person ought to be smacked around. Not having free Internet in a hotel that doesn't have much going for it in the first place adds insult to injury. Plus, the wireless is incredibly slow. And if you have more than one person in your room or more than one computer, they'll charge you separately for each computer. I yelled until they took that off our bill.
Main Floor: As of the summer of '07, they're renovating a lot of the main floor area. This includes their main restaurant, which is currently closed, the bathrooms, and the gift shop. This is part of an overall scheme of improvement so when they're done with those things they may start to do other renovations. To make up for the lack of regular restaurant, they extended the hours of their bar/restaurant so people could eat breakfast and brunch there. The problem with this is that the staff in the bar aren't handling their extra responsibilities well. And if I'm not mistaken they had wait staff from the regular restaurant in the bar trying to maintain that air of elegance and failing due to the massive number of people and the bar staff's inability to be elegant. The result was slow service, mediocre food, prices too high even for a hotel, and lots of frustrated conventioneers. The waitresses for dinner were particularly harried and chose to express this by being insanely rude to us throughout our meal.
Business center: all of the computers in the business center were broken when I arrived and hadn't been fixed by the time I left.
The rooms: The room I stayed in was standard - two full beds. It was on the small side but comfortable enough. I liked the beds. They give you a ton of pillows, most of which aren't necessary. The room and bathroom were clean, however I found a carpet beetle on my bed which was a little unnerving.
One really annoying thing that has happened almost every year is that the locks on the doors have a tendency to stop working after a day. Or maybe the problem is with the key cards. At any rate, I always have to go and get a new key made because mine mysteriously stops working. Though they try to blame it on the key getting messed up by my credit cards, i have this problem if I keep the key in my wallet, my back pocket, or tucked in my convention badge.
Overall, it's safe to say I would never stay at this hotel if not for the convention. And even then, I'm considering finding a nearby motel and just staying there.

Never again. That's all I have to say.
