7 reviews for Boston Market
As a rotisserie chicken lover, Boston Market does it pretty well. The meat falls off the bone, and the skin nice and brown. Taste-wise, it's a bit too salty, and the sides are even saltier.
Dark meat meal (3 pieces, 2 sides, 1 cornbread) costs about $7. Not the cheapest rotisserie fastfood, but given its location it's quite alright.
I wouldn't dine in. The color scheme, furniture, decorations and lighting are a little too bright and modern. Makes me feel like I'm eating inside a modern art gallery. Not comfortable.
Fast and clean, as it should be.
There are few restaurants I dislike more than Boston Market (I've got my eye on you, Cracker Barrel! - see review). I haven't been here since about a month after it opened YEARS ago, but i don't think it matters, because if you are standing at the corner of Lake and Harlem - What the $(*@ are you thinking going to this Boston Market??? Pretty much ANYTHING ELSE IN THE AREA IS BETTER. Let's do a roll call shall we?
Pronto Roma is right next door
Five Guys is a 1/2 block east on lake
Brueggers Bagels is a 1/2 block east on lake
Whole Foods in the same mall.
A Panera in the same mall
A Qdoba in teh same mall
Khyber Pass a 1/2 block east on lake
Puree's Pizza a 1/2 block east on lake
The Maple Tree Diner a 1/2 block east on lake
A Bar Louie a 1/2 block east on lake.
So I just named 10 places, and I'm realistically probably only thinking of 1/2 the places you could go instead of here.
So seriously, I wish it just would go out of business and something else more useful would pop up here. May you die quickly, BM - or long and painfully - I don't really care.
I thought Boston Market was out of business? Apparently not since I just ate there. Things are not quite the same anymore... gone is the huge menu... they still have the basics that I liked back in the day when I frequented it. The interior is radically different... now it's all minimalistic ultra modern. I'm down with that, although the booths weren't very comfortable and they got rid of fountain drinks which I think is pretty much the lamest thing ever.
Really wanted a homemade chicken pot pie and Boston Market seemed to be a likely choice AND it was close but yeah I kind of wish I had gotten one of the thousand calorie frozen ones. I don't recommend it. Maybe the rotisserie chicken is good but NO DEAL on the pot pie. Plus it costs like $6.50 and SO not worth it.
Forget what you know about ordering at this Boston Market. Remember that favorite meal deal that you liked? You know, that one you always ordered because you know what you liked and figured if it ain't broke don't fix it? Hope you remembered the ingredients because everything here is made to order. Stop by the sandwich station and choose from regular bread or flatbread and over 30 different ingredients and 5 different types of meat. You can also get a wider varitey of sides like fruit salad and tuna salad. And as you head over to the registers, you'll find a assortment of gourmet beverages and wine. And to go with the classy new look on the inside, that sandwich will be about $2.00 more expensive than before. To top it all off, the new seating, which hugs the windows, seats very few people, so plan on heading home with your gourmet fast food meal.
I used to go to Boston Market (not this one) at least once a week because their chicken (back in the 90's) was a cut above most other carryout. However, I stopped going because it seemed like the quality-control was getting poor. Sometimes I'd come home and have to put the entire meal in the oven because the chicken was not fully cooked and the potatoes were still hard!
I'd love to give it another try if they've improved the quality in recent years. And they had the best cranberry sauce (mixed with chopped oranges I believe)!
I love this Boston market because they have side items that, as far as I know, no other Boston market offers. The side I enjoy the most is the fresh mozzerella salad with tomatoes. The have another side with zucchini and tomatoes in a vinegrette. The interior is also unique. You get your food from the person who prepared it and bring it over to a console in the center of the restaurant and choose your dessert and pop and then pay. It's like an upscale Boston market. Perfect for Oak Parkers!
