Santa Ana, CA
I haven't been to a Boston Market since I moved to California from Texas. I must say, it wasn't all that bad! Their chicken was devine as it was very tender (no extremely dry chicken here!) and their sides were of the right portion. I really appreciated their excellent customer service as a waitress would come around asking if we (my friends and I) needed anything else to which we replied with a no because we were completely satisfied.
I left Boston Market with a smile and a full belly. -

Food: I got the BBQ Chicken special they had that day with a few sides: bacon cheese mashed potatoes and creamed spinach that came along with corn bread. The corn bread was delicious with butter and honey. The creamed spinach was okay, but the cheese bacon mashed potatoes was good. I came here because a few coworkers was craving it. It was good, but I'm not a huge fan. I would definitely come back for the corn bread.

When I lived back East, Boston Market satisfied all my requirements for patronage: good food, excellent prices, good portions and fast service.
The Boston Market entity in California, sadly, is a whole different animal. My complaints? Small portions and high prices. Tried it twice and same deal both times. The side dishes couldn't satisfy a mouse's hunger. Their idea of a "half chicken" is two skimpy pieces.
My advice? Go to Pollo Norteno in Santa Ana...better chicken, great portions, better prices. -

The team here really seem to like their jobs. The manager keeps the place very clean and everyone always has a smile o their face ready to help. The food I always fresh and well prepared. This is one of the best Boston Markets I've been to.

This review is for catering only.
Easy ordering and confirmations via email. Changing order was simple and their customer service people from the toll free line were helpful. Very reasonable cost for 20 people. Prompt service and excellent food (and it was HOT!). Everyone really liked this luncheon. (we ordered from the holiday menu)
The delivery person Miranda was super helpful and courteous.
Thanks, BR! -

Overall I like Boston market but have noticed a big difference in portion size and price. Increase price or decrease size but don't do both!

AN OLD CHILDHOOD FAVORITE.
I love this place because the chicken is ACTUALLY juicy and tender, compared to the other places where they focus more on the flavor than texture. The soups are amazing as well. The Chicken Noodle has always been a favorite, but if your a person who loves spice, get the Chicken Tortilla. Speaking of soup, when you eat there, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO UNLIMITED SOUP REFILLS!!
Another cool thing about this place, when you order an individual platter, you can get any extra additional sides for only 99 cents! WHAT A STEAL.
Great staff, very friendly, highly recommended for chicken lovers.
UNTIL THEN!! ^-^ -

There was a time when one by one, Boston Markets disappeared as fast as the hair on my balding cousin's head (now compleley bald). Fortunately, this one is still standing. They get plenty of competition from Supermarkets that sell a whole rotisserie chicken for $5 and under. However, the flavor of Boston Market's chicken is far better than any Vons, Albertson's, or Ralph's chicken. it's got the best location in Costa Mesa in perhaps one of the busiest intersections (Adams and Harbor). So many people know it's there, but never stopped in. Well, -what the heck, I stopped in for lunch.
I got the $7.50 three piece with two side chicken, and paid extra for cornbread and soda. Total was about $10. Prices have creeped up every so steadily. I remember when this meal was $6 a few years back. It was just the right size for a moderately hungry guy. They now have the calorie count of the chicken amidst criticism years ago that their food is actually loaded with fats. I should care more about fat. But taste comes first LOL, I really like their fall off the bone dark chicken, mashed sweet potatoes with marshmallows, and creamed spinach sides. Yes, it's a healthy vegetable when plain, but BM douses it with lots of butter, cream and sugar to make it more palatable for most people., The corn bread is more the cake style like Marie Callenders.
Food took a while to come out...they said the creamed spinach wasn't ready. The place is kept pretty clean, as are the bathrooms and soda dispensing areas. Parking is easy. I definitely would come back. I love the taste, but I had to take a star off for fast food that is reaching the prices of sit down restaurants. -

I love Boston Market. On days where my family just wants to not do family style and each get a plate of something for dinner, this place is always first on our minds.
I went to this location, and its smaller than the one I go to in Huntington Beach. Got 2 plates to-go. The service was ok, but they gave me the wrong side, and I didn't realize into I opened it later. The cornbread was already made and not really fresh like they usually are.
The plates are perfect size. I always gets the 1/4 dark chicken with 2 sides [usually mashed potatoes and corn]. They give you a cornbread as well. Plates are usually $7-8 bucks, which isn't so bad. I'm perfectly ful and not overly stuffed.
The 1/4 chicken dark meat with one side is only $5 bucks right now, so its a great deal. Add a cornbread for 68 cents.
The chicken is always great. It falls right off the bone, and is so easy to eat. I love the dark meat here, and the skin has a yummy glazed flavor. My friend got the white meat, and she loved it as well. I always get extra gravy so I can pour it all over the chicken, mash potatoes, and corn. I sound like a fat ass right now, but it really does taste awesome! -

I love Boston Market! Fortunate for me, there is one located 1 mile away from my home.
The food is very home style, but slightly better. My favorite dish is the meatloaf, with the yummy BBQ sauce on top of it...I always order more BBQ to go with it.
I have had some issues with this particular Boston Market location. They keep the place way too cold. I have asked the management and they tell me that its way too hot in the kitchen. And its very true. You can see the employees sweat. As a result, the customers have to suffer. I hate my food getting cold while I eat. Another issue this place has, is that they run out of meatloaf ALL the time! Like I said, meatloaf is my favorite dish here, but they can't keep it in. And sometimes, they serve the last of the meatloaf, which appears as if it had been sitting since the Civil War.
I wish this place actually kept one menu design. It seems like they change it twice a year...what a waste of money.
Word to the wise...make sure you get hot fresh food served to you, because it makes the Boston Market experience worth it!
They put out plenty of coupons in the Sunday paper and some in the Entertainment Book. -

One of those strange businesses you wonder how they stay open--yet you never really had a terrible experience here. I drive by this location and remember eating here quite a few times--then try to remember when that last time was and why it had to have been six years ago!??? I never had a really bad meal--I can remember many decent eatings ...... so why don't I ever feel like returning?
Not a believer in psychology for the most part--but I'm calling Dr. Freud. -

This Boston Market's actually pretty busy, for dine-in and especially for take-out, even without the constant presence of me hogging their power outlets. It's pretty standard as Boston Markets go -- there's a nice, clean seating area and with bathrooms, but not a young, trendy place by any stretch of the imagination. The people at this one are especially friendly, and they even remembered my name, but I was sort of a fixture here while I was losing tons of weight.
They are pretty high-priced for counter service, but the food is nicely prepared, good-tasting, and healthy (with the exception of the desserts; their sandwiches, called Carvers; the soft, sweet, thick cornbread; and the oh so delicious sweet potato casserole). I'm usually a fan of their turkey. As their prices head north, you might want to consider ordering off their $5 menu such as with the soup/salad combo, since the soup is surprisingly good. -

We had Boston Market cater to our office the other day. The highlight foods were the juicy chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the mac and cheese. The corn and corn bread were decent. It's a good place to get thanksgiving type of food on any given day.

Looking for some chicken? By far the best place I have been and can think of! Everything taste like a home cooked meal. I am always drooling for their dark meat chicken, corn, mashed potatoes/gravy, and corn bread! Yum! The best part? It's cheap! They have 5 dollar meals now! You can get a full meal for 5 bucks and it's healthy. They have a lot of options for your $5 meal, and most of it is under 900 calories all together. You must come here when you get that "can't think of a place to eat" thought.

Goof reliable food. Can take a while to get your food, even though it is all right in front of you ready to be scooped onto the plate. Not the brightest people that work there, although I am sure there is a high turnover rate. You must get the creamed spinach for one of you sides. It is the best. The chicken is juicy and tender. A great take to the park for a quick picnic kind of meal.

This is where me and the guys from work go when we are feeling like something more than subway for lunch. The basic premise of Boston Market is that you get hot, staple American food like Mom makes. Rotisserie chicken, Oven Roasted Turkey, even Meatloaf. I usually go for the Boston Carver combo, which is a sandwich using a meat for the main ingredient, and a side of your choice. The sides are high quality. Faves include Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Macaroni and cheese. The creamed corn ain't bad. Bonus points for being located across the street from Paul Mitchell THE SCHOOL. At lunchbreak, you can still see some emotionally-fragile-yet-still-sexually-attractive cosmetologists yapping with each other, wearing all black.

I'm a fan of Boston Market and love their food. Here's a personal experience that I had yesterday that I want to share.
I did an online catering order for pickup at this Boston Market around 7-7:15pm. My order was straight forward, with a party tray of Corn and Mash Potato and Gravy. When I arrive at 7:10pm, my order was not even ready. Needless to say, it appeared that they forgot to prepare my order and had to cook or re-heat it up. For my wait, the manager handed me a free drink which I thought was cool. My wait time was probably 7-10 mins, than I had to run off to my friend's gathering.
About 10 mins after I left the store I got an unidentified call on my mobile phone which I didn't answer, because I was also driving on the freeway at the time. Once I reached my location, the caller left me a voicemail which turned out to be the manager at Boston Market. Looks like they forgot to give me the Gravy for the Mash Potatoes and was willing to deliver it to me. My destination was probably 20 mins away from that store and she was able to come deliver the Gravy.
I should have doubled checked and make sure everything was given to me, but I was already late and 2 simple items like that should not have been easily messed up. I'm giving this store 3 stars for the wait time on my order and forgetting the gravy, but they did amazed me on delivering the item directly to me. -

I can't believe I used to love Boston Market. Maybe it's this location. But the fare is much too greasy. Came here once with a hunny and immediately regretted it.

This food does indeed taste home-made; Will M. is right that the chicken beats your typical grocery rotisserie fare. The sides and cornbread are good; I particularly like the creamed spinach. The prices are normally not bad, but if you get on their e-mail list you can get occasional good coupons. Recently my sweetie and I took home a two-for-one meal special; for under $10 we had enough food for two dinners. The service at this location is occasionally a bit on the slow side, but always friendly. All in all, pretty darn good for semi-fast food.

this place is cheating. called in to order a thanksgiving turkey. Verified with the staff at this store. They said they will accept the specific coupon I printed out. But when I was ready to pay, they said holidays they don't take coupon. On the coupon it says any purchase above $20, and my purchase is $50.

satisfying meal and cheap! i got the quarter white meat rotisserie chicken with mash potatoes + corn for sides and it filled me up. chicken was tender and moist, corn was sweet, and mash potatoes were okay. brisket is tender, juicy, but a bit too salty for me

This place just isn't good anymore, maybe it never was.. I used to love coming here as a kid it always seemed like a hearty American meal. I came to this location and just was not impressed. The staff wasn't friendly, the food looked like it had been sitting for hours/days, and it tasted like shit run over twice.. Probably will never find me at another Boston Market location.

Generally, i like Boston Market, but i ate here today at approx. 3pm and at around 5 i experienced the worst kind of food poison one could have. I was extremely sick to my stomach for 6 hours. Curious to know if anyone else had a similar experience???
