Boston, MA
The crust of their pizza is light and flaky and the amount of cheese, sauce and toppings is always just enough.
I try to venture out of my comfort zone (i.e. veggie pizza), so I decided to try the Bostonian. It has chicken marinated in a honey garlic glaze and sesame seeds (probably an Asian take of Chinatown), crushed red pepper (spicy element!), white vinegar (sour kick), and cheese. Just to let you know, there is no sauce on this pizza. And it doesn't need it either. It will definitely be a repeat order.
Ordered a side of wing dings as well - which are basically perfectly fried chicken wings. They give you a choice of dipping sauces.
Great for 'on the go' food! -

Not a lot of cheap places to eat in downtown Boston. And even though there's plenty of cheap places in Chinatown sometimes I just want a slice of pizza. Now for all those who compare pizza from Boston to NYC style please get over it. No where on this menu does it ever claim to be NY style pizza so obviously expecting to get that is not a fair comparison.
What you will get is an incredibly massive slice for just over $3 dollars. Seriously, every time I come here for a slice it is literally double the size of an average slice and they have six regular toppings they serve by the slice. So if you aren't a cheese or pepperoni fan they do have a veggie and grilled chicken or buffalo if you're a little bit risky with your toppings. And the crust isn't hard or over done. I don't know how they do with all the other expansive menu items they offer but at least the pizza is cheap, fresh and done right. And at the core of a pizza store that's really what counts. -

When the pizza is fresh, it's unbeatable.
I got two slices today - the first was directly from the oven. It was PERFECT. Flaky buttery crust with a wonderful sauce and lots of tasty cheese. Wow. I was sold! My second slice was from a pie that was sitting there: I saw the guy grab the first from the oven, and the second from this other pizza. The second slice, while tasty, was pretty tough and halfway through, my jaw hurt from chewing.
The place is clean enough, but because there are 2 doors you can enter in, all the chill from outside often flows in, and it gets awful crowded.
If you go early enough and can get a fresh slice, I can't recommend it enough. As for older pizza/slices, I'd pass. -

I'm pretty sure all the reviewers who claim the pizza here is "NYC style" have never actually had a real NYC pie (not from a Rays chain, but Grimaldi's or Joe's, for example). BPK is not "good pizza" by any definition (even compared to the average NYC slice). The key problem is that the crust is extremely dry. The second problem is that even if you go during the busy lunch hour, all the slices you get are from old pies made in the morning, so the dryness factor goes up by 10-fold. Sauce and cheese are just average. I'm not sure if any of this is due to the weird conveyor belt oven.
Pros: good location, very friendly staff, they take LevelUp, cheap for the quantity of food you get. I work across the street, but I prefer to walk a few blocks to Crazy Dough's for a decent slice.
Other than the pizza, the only other item I've had is the eggplant parm sandwich. Kinda gross - overfried.
The TV is set to ESPN always, FYI. -

I recommend going here if you're a huge fan of diarrhea.

Not bad at all... but then again, it's hard to mess up pizza.
You can get a HUGE slice for a little over 3 bones. It's a little greasy, but you can always dab it with a couple of napkins!
The crust is thin and crispy, yet hearty and filling enough to last ya a few hours.
I've only tried the buffalo chicken, but I'll be comin back to try more! -

Great spot to grab a slice, wrap or salad. Food is tasty and fresh, prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and nice. Has the feel of a family owned place and they take pride in their food. I usually get the greek salad with falafel; it's phenomenal!

Looks can be deceiving.
Although BKP is housed along the corner of chinatown near the sketchy and dilapidated chinese $0.99 store, don't hesitate to stop in here for a quick slice.
The crust is the star here. It's NYC thin, without the grease. The pie has the perfect chewiness and is generously loaded with toppings, bathed with minimal, slightly-sweet, tomato sauce, and baked to just the right crispiness.
In accordance with all the other generic pizza joints, BKP has an extensive non-pizza menu with sandwiches, pastas, etc. I haven't tried anything else on the menu, and don't plan to, because with pizza this yummy it doesn't matter. As an extra perk, they take LevelUp. (With the money you save, feel free to stop by the ghetto 0.99 store.) -

Boston, MA
Their re-heated pizza slices don't hold a candle to their fresh pies, which is probably why so many people have said they dislike the pizza. Yes, the slices can be dry. I'm a NYer, and this isn't NY pizza, but it's not awful. The "farmer" veggie and "Bostonian" pizzas are my favorite...loaded with toppings but not a lot of sauce (I hate chunks of tomatoes). Their sandwiches and salads are what made me give them 4 stars. The grilled chicken sandwich is a HUGE well-seasoned chicken breast and you get not only fries, but onion rings too, for only 7 bucks. The salads are great too. The veggies are fresh and I've never had even one piece of wilted lettuce. I could do with a couple more cucumbers and such, but that's just my salad preference. Want a grilled chicken salad? You'll get that same huge breast (grilled fresh) on top. Their dressings are delicious and you also get a slice of their nice warm focaccia bread on the side. I haven't tried their falafel yet, but I've heard it's good too.
I love the owners and staff...they're always super friendly, polite, and focused on their customers (I once complimented the owner on the chicken seasoning/marinade and he told me to come back at an off-peak time and he'd give me the recipe! I never did, but it was so nice). They even know my boss by name, because he comes so often. They're crazy busy at lunch, so I usually only come after about 1 pm, even though I work just across the street. But don't come too late, otherwise the creeps of Chinatown come out after dark. -

Pretty good! On Monday evening, the pepperoni & mushroom slice was large, hot (temperature-wise), tasty, and salty in a good way. But Friday at lunch, my buffalo chicken slice was not heated all the way through. If it was piping hot, it might have been delicious.
This is definitely a proper NYC style pizza indeed. Thin crust with salty toppings that give you enough topping with each bite. Chewy plush dough in between the warm crisp layers. When the slice is piping hot and baked all the way through, it's delicious. Otherwise, it borders on "a-ok" and "could be kind of gross to some people". -

This is about the closest I've seen in Boston to NYC pizza. The slices are large. One slice is probably the size of a personal pizza. The slices can be a bit greasy.
There are other things on the menu, like subs. THE BKP has plenty of seating too.
The staff is very friendly and prompt.
My favorite slice is the Buffalo Chicken. Ask them for a side of bleu cheese. -

Delicious and reasonably priced pizza. The older and serious man is a little scary, but he makes a great pizza. When asked to add extra jalapeños, he was like "sure." Not only did he not charge us for the extra jalapeños, but he also did not charge for the side of ranch. The place was empty every time we'd walk by, so we were surprised to enjoy such a tasty pizza. The ONLY reason why I gave 4 stars is because the spot closes early. Even when there were still people inside waiting for a pizza, they refused to unlock the door and take our order. I guess they must not need the money that bad. We were so disappointed because we wanted our last slices of pizza before heading back to Cali. Oh well, hopefully they won't close early the next random chance I get to go to Boston. And by early I'm talking about 8:30-9

Slices are big and reasonably priced, but lack flavor. Most of the other items I've gotten haven't been great (read: overcooked pasta, bland meats) but the chicken parm sub is my go-to. Too messy to pick up and eat, but delicious with a fork and knife.

Best pizza in the area! The buffalo chicken is absolutely delicious. The slices are huge and the price is right. Other items on the menu are good as well. The steak and cheese sub is tasty.

Yes, yes, yes.
My friends and I were in the Common after stuffing ourselves at the New England Dessert Showcase and realized we needed some savory to balance out all the sweet. Also, we maybe had the munchies from a contact high from the legalize marijuana protest going on.
Enter Boston Kitchen Pizza, deliverer of thin, crispy, greasy NY-style pizza that was PERFECT. Seriously, the slightly sweet sauce was a perfect complement to the oozing cheese (and pepperoni and sausage), and the crust was hearty enough to wipe up any drippings we missed the first time around. This place is not pretentious-don't come looking for some gourmet squash on a cracker of a crust.
Do come for delicious, straight-up pizza and friendly service. -

Really good pizza when you first get it, but it becomes extremely dry when you eat it for leftovers. That's a deal breaker since there's always leftovers when you order a whole pizza. Also, the crust is really good.

This place is horrible. I downloaded a copy of their menu from their website- and it did not load properly on my computer. So, when I called to order- they put me on hold (which I didn't mind since they were busy), but everytime they picked up the phone, they kept saying "hold on". Then when I finally talked to the cashier, she asked me what I wanted to order and I told her how the menu did not load. I asked her what she recommended and she said, "We are really busy, once you figure out what you want, call us back." I explained that the menu was not loading onto my computer and the fonts were really messed up, and she didnt even care to listen. BITCH. If that bitchy cashier is reading this- IF YOU WANT BUSINESS, be a little bit more nice to your customers- and FIX your DAMN MENU.

Wow. I stopped in here to get a slice for my kid before we went to check out Marine week.
I was not expecting much, but it was an amazing slice of pizza.
Thin, crisp and chewy.
Lots of grease on the pepperoni slice, always a good sign IMO.
This is what I want when I think pizza and I will be back.
This is a great place to have a slice and watch the women walk by ;-)
The prices are also very reasonable.
A 20oz soda was $1.59 and a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni was less than six dollars..
They are also very large slices.
A large cheese is only 10.95 in downtown Boston!!
I was also very impressed with the service.
The staff was extremely friendly, even though they were busy.
My kid had to use the restroom and I was a little concerned.
I was amazed at how clean it was.
Any little place in this area that takes the time to make sure the restroom is clean at 1:00 in the afternoon after the lunch rush obviously pays attention to detail.
I look forward to going back. -

I was excited to discover Boston Kitchen Pizza soon after it opened. It's solidly good tasting basic pizza, whether plain cheese or with toppings. But the real reason I love the place is because it's one of the few places around downtown crossing/theater district which is actually still open at night and on the weekend. Eventually, downtown crossing bars and restaurants will realize that yes, people DO live here. In the meantime, thanks for the pizza!
The one caveat, which is the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars, is that the pizza has been a bit hit or miss. I assume they'll find their footing as time goes on (or so this hungry downtown crossing patron hopes!). -

This place occupying the slot formerly Pho Vietnam seems to be trying to compete directly with New York Pizza. It's a similar style, in terms of the style of pizza, level of caramelization of the cheese, size of slices... Similar price point. The pizzas are fairly well topped. It is a bit different. The pizza can be hit or miss. It has a good flavor, but is exceptionally greasy. It is also on the fairly soft side, whereas NY's is more crisp. I prefer a bit more solid texture and the slice of pepperoni I had melted through three plates in terms of the oil. I had to resort to a knife and fork because the slice could not maintain its own structural integrity.
They just opened, so service is very much with a smile and they are getting the inefficiencies out of the system. I'll see how they are like when they are more established, but so far, not bad. Just that they use one of those set-time rolling ovens. The pricing of other selections seem reasonable and comparable. -

I've read a lot of reviews about the pizza on here, so I thought I'd share a review about the salad that I had lol. The serving size was huge; the vegetables were fresh. The Italian salad dressing I received was good as well. I paid $5 for the salad, which included some very soft tasty bread. Not bad for dinner!
The cashier was VERY nice too. -
Review from Tara H.
I am super, super impressed with this place.
Again, for work, I was in search of something cheap yet super tasty to feed a huge group of people. I had a coupon, and saw they did catering, so I took a chance.
Not only were they super friendly, the food was FANTASTIC! I ordered the Large of the Cheese Lasagna which proved to be enough for seconds AND left overs. It was warm, filled with TONS of melting cheese and just the right amount of garlic. From that, to the pizza-dough bread sticks, to the SUPER awesome Cesar salad to the service itself...and overall truly pleasant experience.
Plus, I have to say, for the amount of food we got the price was way reasonable. Another in the books to make our office happy, but my boss happy about the price. Score!
Yes, I will being going back for more! -
Review from Diana G.
I stopped in here for a slice of veggie pizza for the first time the other night and all I have to say is wow! This was a huge slice of pizza with tons of fresh veggies & cheese on top! I think it weighed almost a pound. The bottom of the crust was a little soggy -probably because there were so many veggies on it (this is the only reason I am giving this place 4 stars instead of 5). I stopped in again later in the week for lunch, and got a slice of veggie/ricotta pizza, and again - wow! This was even tastier than the veggie pizza I had. Maybe because this pizza was out of the oven for a bit, and the flavors had time to meld together.
Overall, this is a great place for an inexpensive meal that really fills you up. The prices are great - it's only $2 or $3 for a huge piece of pizza. They also offer calzones, wraps, panini, soup, salads, burgers & fries. The service is friendly, the restaurant itself is clean, and there is plenty of seating! I'll be back! :D -

I work near this place on the weekends, so I stop in a couple of times a month. First off, portion sizes are VERY generous. I ordered two pieces of pizza, and each pieces was about the size of three connected pizza pieces from Dominoes. I was so shocked, but I ate half of one, and saved the rest for later when I went home. It was too huge and greasy to eat in one sitting. It was very tasty though! I always get cravings for their pepperoni slices.
They make a really great chicken kabob plate: the chicken is tasty and juicy and the fries are so delish.
It's moderately priced, and it's easily accessible by the orange line. I really like this place, and the people who own it (it seems like a family business since I believe the owner's son mans the register on the weekend) are really sweet. If the place isn't too busy, the owner will generously bring your food to your table if he sees you sitting when your food is ready. -

I am giving them a star for the friendly, nice people who work here. Pizza alone this place is 1 star. Terrible pizza!!!!! Flavorless! People in Boston clearly have no idea what good pizza is if they think this is it!

I've been to this establishment twice with my friends. On the first occassion we got the two pizzas and on the second occasion I got the fish and chips. It is safe to say I will not be coming back for a third time.
The pizza was so soggy that the cheese layer literally fell off and separated from the rest of the pizza. In essence you have to use a fork and knife to literally eat their pizzas. The price is outrageous and the pizza did not even taste that great.
The fish and chips were terrible. I got the fish and chips dinner for 10.99 (complete and total rip off) and they didn't even make the dish properly. The fish had no batter and it tasted like costco frozen fish.
Oh yeah and the guy taking orders can barely understand English. He had a hard time understanding what we wanted and he messed up my friends order. In addition he did not ask us if we wanted to take out food to go.
Price: 1/5
Quality: 1/5
Taste: 1/5 -

Let us start with the exchange with the counter person taking the order (C) and myself (M).
C: What do you want?
M: Can I get a large cheese pizza with tomatoes, olives, peppers, and ricotta?
C: Peppers and what else?
M: Tomatoes, olives, and ricotta, along with the peppers.
C: So you want peppers... olives... and... [long pause]
M: Tomatoes... ricotta... olives and peppers. [Thinking she already had the olives and peppers on lock down.]
C: OK, so tomatoes, olives, ricotta... and what else? [The entire time she has been twisting and playing with her hair.]
M: Peppers.
C: That it?
M: May I also have a chef's salad?
C: What kind of dressing?
M: What dressings do you have?
[She rattles them off.]
M: May I have a ranch and a Caesar dressing? [Panic sets into her eyes]
C: Huh?!
M: I don't mind paying extra for it.
[She consults with someone and turns and nods, saying nothing]
C: That it?
M: Yes it is.
C: Is that for here or to go?
M: To go. [Now self conscious and wondering if I look like a person that would eat a whole salad and a large pizza]
Now I hand her the card I am paying with and she hands me back the slip to sign and a capless Sharpie marker. Now, for those of you that know how long my last name is, I would like you two explain to me how to sign my name on a small credit card slip with a dull Sharpie. I mange to make a large black blob on the signature line and sit down to wait.
The salad is ready and the shout over to me informing me of this fact. The person that took my order looked at me oddly since I wasn't getting up to get it. I said I also had a pizza, at which point her face went blank and she then squinted a little, tilted her head to the side, and said, "What kind?" I then looked at her blankly an in my head said, "Really? REALLY?!" I then started naming off the toppings and she turns and looks through the slips. "It's coming," she says.
Then a guy calls out my pizza a bit later. I go up to the counter and see a rather small box. I ask, "This is a large?" He then informs me that the pizza before me is a medium. I then tell him I ordered a large. He then looks at the slip and tells me that I did not order a large (which is an amazing feat for him to know for certain since he wasn't around when I ordered). I inform him that I most certainly did order a large since it was for three people. "Well we charged you for a medium," he flat-out tells me. "But I needed a large," I reply. After a long pause, he says, "If you really want, I will make you a large." Since he made it sound like such a chore, I declined, telling him I didn't have time. Thankfully, I had a You've Been Yelped card in my pocket. I plopped it on the counter and left.
I get the salad and pizza home and not only is the crust undercooked, the cheese isn't melted and the vegetables are still raw. The salad was rather nice with an assortment of leafy greens. It would have been nice if I had gotten the correct dressings that I ordered.
I am very disappointed and underwhelmed. I wouldn't even have minded the fact That I had to turn my oven on and cook my pizza when I got home, but the lack of customer service and incorrect order just made things suck all the more. I was looking forward to this place since it is only two blocks away from where I live, but they just failed to deliver. -

Good food and friendly service. Granted it is not a classy place but it is just perfect for a corner pizza place. I have tried the sandwhiches and pizza and all is really good. The cheese blend is really something special. Since I was visitng the area this place started as just an option to avoid the $25.00 room service burger from the double tree but I was pleasantly suprised

Last night my roommate and I got a buffalo chicken pizza and it was AWESOME. They use blue cheese as the sauce, mozzarella on top, and plenty of fried/breaded chicken pieces with buffalo sauce.
the crust was thin and crispy and delicious. I woke up this morning wanting the leftover piece for breakfast and was very sad when i ate the last bite. I might never try any of their other specialty pizzas because this one was so good! -

Went here with a couple of friends for lunch, as we were very used to New York Pizza just a couple blocks away so we thought we'd try something new. We ordered the Fenway, which was very flavorful, but it took forever to get to our table and and the pizza was overall a bit soggy. You couldn't pull a slice away without having all the cheese and toppings slide off. I'm going to stick with New York Pizza.

Review from Eric F.
Went here a couple months back and was thoroughly unimpressed. The pizza we ordered was quite well done with good quality ingredients, but it all fell apart when we tried to split it - the cheese and toppings slipped right off the sauce and dough and it was a huge pain to eat. The wait was lengthy as well, taking almost half an hour to get the pizza out. Will not be returning anytime soon...

Pizza was great, service was great and the prices were competitive. I'm currently boycotting Domino's due their poor service and I was lucky enough to find this gem in my backyard!! I ordered about 5 pizzas to serve 20 or so people and paid the same amount I usually pay for the $5 deal from Domino's!! I will definitely keep coming back : )

Delicious pizza! The best crust I've ever tasted- not too soft, not to hard, but just right. This place is around the corner from my school so I stop in 1-2/week for a slice. Who would've thought the best pizza in Boston would be in Chinatown?
