I went to Boston Kebab House on two occasions: Workweek lunch and Office Catering. Both were really good experiences.

    Workweek Lunch:
Offer daily specials. Line for salad is long but well worth it. Salads are huge and a good deal for the price. Meat is good quality. Tasty tasty stuff.

    Office Catering:
So accommodating!!! I placed 30+ individual orders. Everything was correct, on time, and delicious. I even turned in 2 additional orders the morning of delivery and they were able to accommodate me. Everything was labeled with each individual's name. Super convenient- I would definitely order catering from them again.

    Love this place!!

I make the trip here at least once a week to get lunch and just recommended it for an office catered event as well. If you are into healthy food options and something with a lot of variety in your meal, than this is a great option. They offer wraps, salads and mixed plates for lunch, and all at a pretty reasonable price.

The line does go out the door during a typical work week, so try to aim for off hours (before noon or after 1:15) if you are in a rush. There are tables downstairs from the main floor for in-house dining and for the most part, the service has been pretty good. Would recommend also looking at a menu before you go. When you arrive, it can be pretty overwhelming if you are not familiar with Mediterranean food.

For first timers, I would recommend the Steak, Chicken or Lamb Kabob plates or the wraps. If you have any allergies, also be careful to look up the ingredients to the food!  Had a friend who has a dairy allergy and he almost ate the tzatziki sauce (yogurt sauce).

A must visit place if you are around the Financial District for lunch!

Mmm mmm good!  Amazing salad topping selection w' way more to choose from than the other salad spots in the area (capers, falafal, grape leaves, lentils, mmmm mmm good!)  Also super affordable, and they just started doing the frequent salad cards like the other spots in the area.  If you're craving something a tad more filling then hit up the sandwich/wrap line for some yummmyyy falafal sandwiches.  I have not tried the Meze bar yet but the selections there always look delish as well.

This place is a great way to spice up your ho hum lunch routine in the financial district!

Boston Kebab House is hands down my favorite lunchtime salad destination in Downtown Boston.  I have been working in this area for a little over four years, and the Kebab House has never failed me.

In comparison to other salad places (like, Sebastian's, which I think is a colossal rip-off), Kebab House monopolizes the "customize your salad" market.  Especially since a small salad, which is always more than enough, is less than $7.  That is UNHEARD of in that area.  The toppings to choose from are always fresh and are UNLIMITED and they have recently come up with new dressings.  Say whaaat?  I oftentimes feel like  a kid in a candy store with so many options.

My standard is a small spinach with tarragon chicken and falafel with their muhamarra dressing and as many veggies I can fit in or around my mouth.

this awful place WILL NOT LET YOU EAT YOUR LUNCH without ramming the tables at 1:45pm with vacuum cleaners.  These noise makers kick up dust when you are trying to eat.. but ALL THEY CARE ABOUT is closing the place.

They can't seem to get any take out order correct.  9 times in a row they blew it.  They would do better going into business selling old vacuum cleaners.

Go to the Sultan's if you want to eat good Turkish food in peace and quiet.

I won't take a star away from them because of this, but I think it was a poor customer service decision on their part to take away my nearly filled frequent diner stamp card today and tell me that they are no longer honoring these.  My last stamp was earned 9/15 and I only had one more to go.

Now to the food...  The fries were still the good sort, but the container wasn't as generously filled as they used to.  And it would be nice if they would serve the falafel side warm.

    *** 12/20/2011 visit ***

The Frequent Card is back, but now it has an expiration date of 1/11/2012, so that gives us basically 3 weeks to accumulate 10 visits and to redeem the $10 value benefit.  Yes, and it is only one redemption per visit, so if I buy lunch for me and a friend, I can only get one stamp I guess.  Not such a good deal, unless one has a tendency to come here 3-4 times a week, which is a bit overkill for one who likes some variety in their lunch rotation.

Back to the fries - not as crispy this time, but not the regular *yawn* type either... more like the oil wasn't quite not enough or something of that sort.

With these two knocks, I have to knock off half a star and round down to 3.

    *** 4/2012 visit ***

Bad fry job today on the fries (I like my fries crisp, not limp), but lots of lamb on the plate, and good portions of the sides of hummus and shepherd salad.

    *** 5/2012 visit ***

Okay, forget about their Frequent Card.  They're using LevelUp - spend $100 to earn $10... sounds much more do-able.

Tried their Angus Beef cheese burger $5.43(?), +$2 for a side of fries (reg. price $2.48 or so), and the Turkey Cheddar Melt $6.96 (turkey with beef bacon, cranberry sauce spread & yellow chedder cheese on rye).  Each arrived wrapped in a paper foil wrapper.  The burger was acceptable, but I didn't care for the turkey melt - the toast sogged up way too fast, the cranberry sauce wasn't sweet enough, and the bacon too salty.

Prices on their online menu matches those of my paper menu (dtd 0611) - both are out of date as they do not match the menu painted on their walls.

I found myself downtown today in visiting the Commonwealth Book Store, and finally got to try this place. When I got there at 1pm, the line for the sandwich bar led down the stairs, out the door, and a few yards down the block. What can be more promising?

All the promise was fulfilled. The meze bar is a great bargain. You load up a styrofoam tray and pay by weight. I had a very filling lunch of pilaf, döner kebab (good quality beef), sautéed spinach with pine nuts (very light and not greasy), green beans in tomato sauce, artichoke fritters, and zucchini fritters, all for under $9. There is an extremely wide variety of dishes on offer, both meat and vegetarian. Don't worry about not finding any dishes you like--the problem is rather choosing which of favorites you want to eat that day, since there are too many to eat at once.

Don't miss out on this bargain lunch spot. Financial district drones are lucky to have this very tasty and wholesome food every day. I wish there was the equivalent in Harvard Square, where I live and work...

One cavil--I wish the fritters had been kept warm. Maybe under a heat lamp, if the steam tray makes them soggy?

They have a selection of Turkish juices and ayran, in addition to the usual American swill.

They make a good falafel and I used to like their Mezanine self-serve buffet but I will never buy the meze bar again because they removed the $10 maximum.

Before, you would never pay more than $10. This ensured that I could get a little hummus and not pay $7 per pound for it, because that is an insane thing to charge your customers. Now, if I get a little salad, I can't get hummus because I'll end up paying $15-$25 for the dish. Too bad, so sad, will never buy again.

Food is good quality but they're shooting their feet with the capless meze bar. Big surprise, the hummus and muhammara trays are UNTOUCHED! Sad since they're so delicious.

So, I'd been meaning to write a review of this place for a while. I went (past tense intended) here on occasion (I'll get back to that) and the food is usually tasty (particularly the various chicken kebabs) and rather plentiful- though a bit pricey in my opinion.

If I had written this review a week ago it would have been a 3.5 star experience and I'm on the fence as to which way I'd have fallen on the rounding spectrum.

That was a week ago, this is today. You see, as I mentioned earlier, I went here on occasion, but in reality the last 3 or so times including today's visit were because I was given a frequent diner's card a couple of months ago and after your tenth lunch you get one free. After #7 I became a little more determined to get my free lunch; paging Elaine Benes. Well today was my tenth and final stamp and I actually decided over other restaurants to come here to seal the deal. I show up, order, pay and then present my card. "I'm sorry sir, we stopped that promotion." I say, "Seriously?" trying to hide the tumult of emotion coursing through me at this moment: panic, fear, rage, hunger. "Yes, last Friday;" So I coolly ask "So my card and all the stamps are no longer accepted?" "Correct sir, sorry." Customer service etiquette would probably be to honor whose ever cards were still out there, but no longer offer new ones to customers. You've lost potentially hundreds of my dollars over the next several months over an $8.91 lunch.

I get back to my office and grumpily eat my food, still bitter over that exchange. Then when I dip my falafel in the chili sauce they provide if asked and take a bite something happens...my grumpiness escalates once again. They've given me ketchup?? Okay, Paul M., keep it cool just use the wheat pita or something....oh....my.....God....the pita is so stale they could crumble it and call it pita chips. What happened BKH?!?!? Seriously??! I use to like you and now I will NEVER be back. I'm only not giving one star because I still think your kebabs are good but what the Hell happened?? I'll be visiting The King for all of my kebab and falafel needs going forward.

Oh and by the way, why does the dining area in the basement always smell like a noxious mix of formaldehyde and ammonia? Is there an illegal mortuary being operated or someone doing Mr. Wizard style lab experiments down there or something? They try to cover it up with something that smells like baby oil but all that does is make it more horrendous. I can't be the only person who has noticed this odor.

Great place for lunch downtown and so happy I discovered it!

They have a huge create your own salad section.  You pick 2 proteins (one choice being avocado- awesome) and then other veggies, beans, fruits, nuts, dressings, etc.  They then toss it for you at the end.  Every salad comes with some pita and you have the choice of white or wheat! The only draw back is you feel extrememly rushed.  Maybe it's just me but I get super flustered and then end up missing all the good stuff i wanted to put in my salad!!

Anyways, awesome place to go for a salad.  I heard that their Meze bar is delicious and a super deal so will have to try that out one of these days!

    I hate this place!

I hate the Boston Kebab house because its food is so delicious and its only open from 10am-3pm M-F. No dinner, no weekends = I'm out of luck cuz I don't live downtown anymore.

Seriously, this place probably has the best Turkish kebabs in the Boston area and everything I've tried here has been pretty tasty.

Wow, I didn't know something this wonderful existed in Boston. Anyways, this place is divided into three sections...

LEFT: You point to what you want on your salad, choose your salad dressing, and the cute girl will mix it all up and bam! You have a salad all mixed up with your choice of dressing. Downside, when you point to something (for example, walnuts), you sometimes literally get half a walnut sometimes.

MIDDLE: The middle has a menu overhead of salads and sandwiches.

RIGHT: Meze table or whatever it's called. Pay-per-pound. Everything on this side is awesome, except oily. I always feel a bit greasy... but it's filling and pretty friendly on the wallet.

A few months ago I would have given this place 4 stars, but the tandoori chicken shish kebab wrap has decreased in value. Did someone leave? Is the sauce watered-down? Why is the wrap unraveling as I bite into it? Very disappointing. It's still good, but not as flavorful as it once was. I don't think I'll be spending close to $8 bucks for it anymore.

The falafel wrap is vegetarian and is my new fave. There's still that problem with it breaking to pieces, but it's less expensive than other wraps on the menu.

The salad bar is definitely intimidating, especially if you're a first timer. I like how there are so many options and they don't fuss if you choose more than 2 proteins. It's a better deal than Au Bon down the street, which is trying to do a similar thing but charges for more options.

Oh, yum.  I came in craving falafel, and I was happy after lunch.  I went with the plate, and that was my only mistake as I should have gotten the wrap.  The plate came with a awesome salad loaded with cucumber, tomato, mint, and a lemony dressing.  The falafel was sitting in a bit of a mess of hummus, and it was honestly too much hummus.  It was the same quantity that you'd get in a small container at the grocery store.  The falafel was crispy and flavorful, and best in the pita mixed with salad with the yogurt sauce that came on the side.  It was a good, relatively healthy lunch and I foresee coming back here whenever I want something off their amazing looking meze bar, make your own salad station, or a sandwich or wrap.

Service was very pleasant and smiley, which is the perfect side with some falafel.  The space was super clean and inviting.

So I suck at salad bars.  My eyes are always bigger and ostensibly more clever than my stomach ("of COURSE those [disparate foodstuffs] will taste good mushed together when I dive back into this overflowing take-out tray [5 hours and/or whenever I've digested this pound of food that's HEALTHY, cuz it's SALAD!] later").

Of course, they never taste good mushed together later in the day.  That's just plain physics.

The Boston Kebab House is not my sandwich go-to, and not my sit down go-to, and is not a place I will enjoy waiting in line at for an hour, snaked around Liberty Square.  The SALAD BAR at the Boston Kebab House, however, is a gift straight from God.  It never has a line, and is stuffed to the gills with every Middle Eastern delicacy you could ever want--hummus and baba ganoush and artichoke fritters and tabouli and grapeleaves and cabbage and falafel and bean salads and grilled chicken and eggplant and that amazing red mashed walnut paste--THAT ALL TASTE AMAZING MUSHED TOGETHER FIVE HOURS LATER.

Also, I never have to deal with the stress of getting light items.  One of my mom's cardinal rules in life is to never get the whole egg at a salad bar.  For a prix fixe (just under $10, which is spendy, but worth it), you can fill that bad boy up to the brim and eat for days.

Delicious lunch when I'm in the mood for a falafel or some of their meze bar.  The meze bar is a good value as for ~$7 you can get two meals out of it (as long as you don't mind second day baba ghanouj!)

A tip though, if you're not in the mood for the salad bar, which is a build your own affair, don't be fooled by the line on the left.  You can just step to the right, and the sandwich/meze line is there - and usually much, much smaller.

I eat lunch here fairly often. The great deals here are the salad bar and the meze bar. The salad bar is easily the best value salad in the area. The meze bar always has a great selection of vegetarian dishes, though the few meat dishes they serve are hit-and-miss (the chicken dishes are usually pretty good).

The kabob plates are a good deal if you're hungry for a large helping of meat and generous side portions. The best meat to get is probably the doner kebab. You can pick your two side dishes for the plates, though they often forget that you customized your sides and serve the default (shepherd's salad and something else).

Boston Kebab House has seen some major changes in the last year- a new trendy tossed salad bar (which I haven't tried yet) and an amazing, fabulous, incredible self-serve meze bar (I could use more adjectives, but will save you from reading the long sentence).  If it wouldn't render me completely broke every week I'd totes eat here every day- rockin' it Mediterranean style.  It's a little slice of vegetarian heaven.

I like to go between 11 and 11:30 to avoid the crowds and get my little plastic container filled with:

    hummus
    stuffed grape leaves
    artichoke fritters
    muhamarra!!!!
    tabbouleh
shepard's salad (cucumber, tomtao, red onion, olive oil)
    these red lentil things
    yogurt w/ dill
    fried potato salad

And there are even more options that that.  The basics are there every day- but sometimes some new stuff, like today- a feta and spinach bread pastry thing.

Another new addition: a "frequent boston kebab obsessive card" where your 10th meze bar purchase is free.  I like free stuff.  I like free stuff even better when it's freakin' good.  Two more purchases until I get my free meal.  I'll save it for a rainy day.

This place can be an amazing lunch find, if you do it right.  First, find a friend (this always makes for a good lunch) who likes middle eastern food as much as you do.  Walk over to the kebab house.  Ignore the huge line out the door, it's just for the non-meze salad bar.  Ignore the signs on the walls advertising kebabs, schawarma, and doner, if you can, and grab one salad tray.
Middle eastern food is heavy, and you pay ~$7 a pound, but here's the kicker- there's a $10 price cap.  This is where your friend comes in.  Have him/her tag out and go downstairs to scout a table while you forage.

Mmmmm, hummus.  It's heavy, but you're working the system, so stack it up.  Little fried dumpling things?  Why not?  Baba ganoush, don't forget the pita, oh look olives!  Some sort of spinachy thing.  Grape leaves!  Pack that thing tight, put some light-looking stuff on the top in an attempt to preserve your dignity, and look surprised when the table under the scale creaks under the weight.  Pay your $10, grab napkins and an extra fork for your wingman, and go have a seat downstairs to enjoy the fruits of your pillage, having thoroughly sacked the once-mighty Ottoman Empire.

The only thing I had here which I didn't find palatable was the grape leaves... whoever made those things had a heavy, heavy hand with the rose water, and it tasted like I was munching on some old lady's over-perfumed shawl.  Everything else?  A bargain for $5, and probably a bargain for twice that.

As I sit in the lower level of Kebab House, in awe of my custom-made (HUGE) salad, I think to myself,  "Kebab House vs. Sultan's Kitchen. They are very similar. Both Turkish. Both fresh ingredients, many of the same menu items. Is there a connection between the two?". Then I look over and read a Boston Globe article hanging on the wall, mentioning that one of the two owners of the Kebab House worked at Sultan's Kitchen for five years. Makes sense now!

So if Sultan's Kitchen and Kebab House had an all-out brawl, who would win? Kebab House takes the gold metal. Here's why.

1.) Lots and lots of seating.

2.) Best salad station in the financial district because: has spinach as a salad option, every single type of nut, dried fruit, and salad dressing possible. Many Middle Eastern mix-ins including falafel and grape leaves. Doesn't charge extra for chicken.

3.) Meze bar, where you can fill an entire container full of any Middle Eastern dip, spread, salad, and fritter for $10.

4.) Custom kebab station, where you can pick what meat and two/three different salads or rices to put in the wrap.

    5.) No credit card minimum.

6.) Ability to pre-purchase a Kebab House "credit card" and save 25% off every purchase!

7.) Cheaper and faster than Sultan's Kitchen.

This is my new favorite salad spot in the Financial District, hands down. I love Sebastian's and that was my go-to salad spot, but they have been dethroned by Kebab House! I can't wait to try everything else and fill my belly with Turkish delight at least once a week.

I've been here twice now. Once for takeout, where I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on white, and to my distaste was served on what appeared to be wonder bread. And the second time this afternoon, when Liz and I were looking to escape Wackytown at work.

We both ordered the Chicken Kebab Special for $8.95. This consisted of two kinds of rice, hummus, falaffel, grilled chicken kebab, and syrian bread. While we waited, we munched on their new organic bread served with hummus which was pretty phenomenal. We took our tasty meals downstairs, which was fairly crowded for 1pm and dove into a table. We began eating to notice "Let it Be" coming through the speaker in a foreign tongue, and then "Total Eclipse of the Heart" played loudly. I felt like I was in another dimension, but was totally loving it. The chicken was....while I hate to use the word, Ima hafta... "moist", the salad was undressed as I like, and the hummus spectacular!

Without a doubt, one of my favorite places for lunch in downtown Boston. The food tastes fresh, is more than filling, and has a great balance--for a meat lover, at least.

The lines can be misleading! There are actually three sections to the place. You pick up food upstairs. The leftmost line goes to the salad service side. You DO NOT have to wait in this line if you don't want an entree salad. Go to the right and either order under the huge menu board or use the Meze bar to the right. You pick up your order upstairs between the salad service and the registers. Seating is downstairs. Everything is basically served in Styrofoam lunch containers.

The donor, kofte, and Boston kebab plates are usually what I go for, and while they're not necessarily the best value around, pound-for-pound, they won't leave you disappointed. If you're not hungry enough, I'd recommend going for a smaller item.

Plates go for around $7-$10, gyros/wraps for around $7, salads for around $5-$6, and the Meze is around $7/lb.

I love these people. The food is made fresh. The bread they use is baked in Boston. The desert cookies come from Somerville (no jokes please; i'm just a fan of local food supplies).

Today was my first visit. I ordered the swordfish kebab, which was quite tasty. I also ordered bakalava. An hour after leaving, I realized I left the bakalava, went back, and the cashier smiled at me. "Go ahead and take one."

Good food made and sold by good folks. I'll be going back a lot more.

I would give this place 4 stars for food but I am taking off 2 stars for bad business practices.

In terms of food, its hard to find good vegetarian salads in financial district, and this place delivers in that respect. That is why I was very frequent to this place. I also had a frequent diner's card which I completed on a Tuesday and wasn't informed of any changes. Next Monday when I went there to get my free lunch, I was informed that they have stopped this promotion. I used to go here at least once a week but I have not gone back since this incident and will avoid it any cost in the future.

I can't thank Yelper Sara S. enough for introducing me to the Boston Kebab House!   As a person with not just a bunch of food allergies, but also a fear of pretty much anything considered daring or different concerning food, I would have never stopped in there on my own.

Not only is everything really inexpensive (you can easily spend less than $10 for lunch and get a huuuuuge plate full of food), but you have a ton of choices as to what to eat - and your tummy will thank you later for whatever you do decide!       At the meze bar, you can fill up a container to your heart's content and pay by weight.  And let me tell you - the meze bar is stocked with all sorts of goodies!   You don't have to worry about not being too familiar with the cuisine, because they have labels for everything and they even place certain items next to one another as a subtle suggestion that they go well together.

You can also order off the menu (on a board behind the registers), and they even have deli sandwiches and pizza and things like that.  I don't know if I'll ever try those, but it's certainly something to note.

Make your own kebabs?  Yes, please!  The hot menu is superb and you can probably visit the Kebab House over two hundred times and get something different every time - that's how extensive the menu is.  And if you are not hooked by the price, the vast menu, or the way you can do it all yourself, then I think the service will reel you in.   Friendly people who are happy to answer your questions.  Service with a smile.  You can't beat it.

I can't believe I've been working here for six months without knowing about the meze bar. This ends my quest for a yummy, healthy, moderately sized lunch. Actually it can get pretty big if you're not watching out because everything is delicious looking. Do get red lentil kofte, hummus, babaganoush, white bean salad, eggplant fritters and marinated asparagus. It's $6.99/lb, or they allow you to stuff a container for $9.99, but the beautiful thing is getting to create a delightful little $4 lunch when you're not overly hungry.

I was not feeling moderate today, however. I got the lamb kebab plate for $9.50. I hurried back to my office with the container heavy in hand, the heavenly scent of grilled meat wafting out. It was really awesome. There was actually not an excessive amount of meat, but the box was overstuffed with salad and two delicious kinds of rice.

BKH has a cute, cheery interior and friendly servers who give out dollar off coupons for next time. I can't stop coming here.

I had chicken, tuna, green peppers, roasted red peppers, banana chips, dried cranberries, cucmbers, croutons, and two different kinds of lettuce.

    Yum. Yum. Yum.

Boston Kebab House is literally as good as it gets.  Here's what I like:

    1) Affordable salad bar with premium toppings like pecans and pomegranate dressing.
    2) Self-serve meze bar, weighed by the pound (because I need to have complete control over my portions of tasty muhammara, hummus and artichoke fritters).
    3) Some tasty-looking entrees (I haven't gotten there yet).
    4) Overall compatibility with both carnivores and vegetarians (key for my diverse lunchtime group at work).
    5) Plentiful seating, so I don't have to go back to my workplace and eat in the breakroom if I don't wanna.
    6) Proximity to pretty Post Office Square for picnic days.

You really can't get much better than that for the Financial District.

Chicken kofte kabab = oh-so-tender flavourful chicken kabab heaven. Yum. Also like the chicken shish kabab. I would order the plates instead of the sandwiches, because the pita on the sandwiches is never wrapped well enough to hold everything in them.

EDIT: Their sandwiches can now be ordered with homemade Turkish bread (the same bread they serve as a free appetizer if you eat in) - it's very fresh and slightly salted, I highly recommend it!

If you only eat Halal, you have to be careful to specifically ask for your chicken to be Halal and it usually takes about 5-10 minutes longer which can be a pain if you're just picking up a sandwich for lunch so consider calling in advance for take-out. (They don't do the chicken kofte kabab in halal, which is really sad because it was so good!). The lamb/beef is always halal, though.

The seating area downstairs is pretty nice + they bring you this nice bread + yogurt sauce free if you eat in. And they have FREE wireless!

Also good to know: It's only open for lunch on weekdays and it's CLOSED Sunday.

When my office moved downtown recently, we were discussing the decent places to eat in the area (based on our experiences with previous jobs located downtown).  Although it's a bit far from my office, Boston Kebab House was on the list, so I stopped in today while on another errand. I was in a hurry so just got a falafel wrap -- my go-to sandwich because it's always vegan by default -- which was good. I thought it was a bit pricey but perhaps $7.25 is what sandwiches cost these days.

They also have a salad and hot entree bar. I didn't see the price but it looked better than most downtown salad bars.

For those always on the hunt for a new falafel wrap, this place is great for those that work downtown. Their tabouli/hummus mixture is just right and the falafel was addictively crispy.

I recommend getting it to go.

This place has continually improved until reaching near-perfection for a quick lunch option in the Financial District.  They recently added a rotating selection of hot entrees to the choose-your-own, mix-and-match meze bar.  Plus, the build-your-own-salad is so cheap, it's ridiculous.

*****EDIT - Apparently everyone caught on to it, b/c they stopped offering this deal!!!*****What used to be the best part about this place, which far too few people seem to realize or take advantage of, is that YOU CAN HAVE EVERY MEAL HERE FOR 20% OFF!  Sorry for yelling, but I feel strongly about it!  Plus, aren't you glad I'm trying to save you 20%?!

    Here's how:

If you buy a Boston Kebab House (BKH) Card from them for $40, they put $50 on it.  Now everything on the menu is 20% off!  The build-your-own-salad is listed as $5.24; you only pay $4.20 for it!    If you work in the area, even if you only eat out once every week or two, the BKH card is a great deal and well worth paying $40 up front for it.

I think the best options are anything (wrap, sandwich, salad, or entree) with the chicken kofte kebab (basically, a specially spiced chicken sausage) or the regular chicken kebab.  The bulghur wheat (like rice) is the best side.  However, the wrap doesn't always hold together well with all of the stuff inside.

Also, like everywhere else in the Financial District don't go right at 12 pm.  I eat late lunches, so this never impacts me.

The only two provisos:  there are better choices in the area for falafel, and their Turkish version of a gyro (doner kebab) leaves much to be desired, way to lamb-y for my taste.

    Not bad.

We got food from here today for lunch.  We didn't eat there - place was PACKED!!!  At least they have a big seating area downstairs.

Kind of confusing when you show up.  We placed our order over the phone for pick up, but when you get there, you really just have to muscle your way up front and ask if they have your food.

We got a ton of different things, and everyone pretty much liked what they got.  I had the lamb kebab wrap thing.  Messy.  Not bad.  The meat was... OK.  Cooked fine.  Not as fatty as I feared, but still a bit tough.  Thing fell apart as I ate it.  Wraps - they always do that.

Other people got meat platters or wraps and they all seemed to like it.  A few remarked that we would order from here again.  Which I suppose we will...

    Yum yum yum!!!

$5 for a big pile of deliciousness? Yes please! Seriously, go with a friend, pile all your favorite middle eastern goodies in the big plastic container, split the $10 bill, go downstairs and scarf yourself silly! You will love it, as long as you're not one of those weirdos whose foods can't touch...then you may not...

Last time I came here I left with a very full belly and  no buyer's remorse (very rare for this part of town). Not a bad deal! I do do wish some of the foods were hot (or at least warm) but whatevs, it is still delicious and totally worth the price!

The hummus, roasted eggplant, fritters, mushrooms (omg!), & crunchy falafel are so so good... the ambiance downstairs is also fun...interesting paintings, good music, and it's CLEAN!

    Love!

If you're looking for some serious kebably goodness, complete with hairy-chested lebanese men (and women...?), stop what you're doing and hop, skip, and/or jump to Boston Kebab House. This place is the real deal.

I'm not into stuffed grape leaves or heaping plates of miscellaneous Mediterranean goop, but man oh man I am always satisfied with the food here. People rave about the salads and I'm definitely a believer. All their plates have hefty portions and I've never spent more than $10 here. A decent value for the Financial District.

Be sure to bring your passport. You may need it for reentry when y ou return from your cultural expedition.

I only get the gyro here but you get your choice of yogurt sauce or hummus.  It is packed full of goodies: sliced lamb/beef, tomato, onion, red cabbage and lettuce. Delicious. So delicious.  OMG I want another one just writing this review!

I havent tried the salad bar, but my co-worker loves it.  Two choices of a protein, 3 different types of greens (mix, mesclun and another one) and as many salad toppings you want.  There is always a line for the salad bar but it moves very quickly!

Super reasonable prices (my total lunch was $8.80...gyro and a can of soda) and you get a $1 coupon on the bottom of every receipt.  The sitting area gets filled quickly so you may want to get there early.

LOVE THIS PLACE.  Turkish style kabobs are almost just as good as Greek style kabobs.
