Oh BHOP we have been seeing each other for a few years now. I can't remember how many nights I ended with you after being out and drinking too much. This and Cappy's I were my go to drunk late night food spots when I was at Northeastern. Ahhh memories. Even though I'm not in college anymore, I still find myself ordering from you when I'm too lazy to A.) make dinner or B.) go grocery shopping. I love their buffalo chicken pizza. That's what I order like 95% of the time. The crust is not too thick and they don't over cook it either. The appetizers especially the garlic bread with cheese are pretty good. I actually prefer bhop's pizza over a lot of places in the city. Go figure.
If you would like dinner and a show, come here around 1-1:30am and just sit back. It's always hilarious to hear the ridiculous drunk convos, and to see people that are the definition of "hot mess" attack pizza like they've never seen food before.Listed in: Pizza Pizza

I can't speak to what their "by the slice" pizza is like, but I can tell you for large orders (which I do occasionally when I need to feed a crowd of people for a work or volunteer function) they're a good bet for pizza. Why?
1. You can order and pay online, plus get your receipt that way (great if you need it for the accounting dept.).
2. The pizza itself always comes hot, cheesy, and pretty darn good. In fact I get compliments for it, which I definitely wouldn't from some other places.
3. They always deliver EARLY! (usually 5-10 minutes; even when I've ordered 10+ pizzas) PLUS they bring napkins and plates. Beat that!
They're a good option for ordering whole pies (especially multiples of them).
Maybe I get great service - and good pizza - because I am a repeat, large-quantity customer. Either way, they're my go-to-pizza supplier. -

I've been coming here for about 6 years now, and I'm always happy.
Though I no longer eat cheese, sometimes I will dip in here and order a few slices and just take off the cheese and eat the rest of the pizza. It's still very yummy because their crust is very tasty and the crust sort of tastes like Pizza Hut Pan pizza to me, and that makes it so crazy yummy.
They're salads are typical for your average pizza joint: iceberg, a few pieces of veggies. But not bad.
I've had their veggie subs, and they're tasty, I usually just get grilled onions, green peppers, then they throw on some lettuce and tomato, and it's satisfying.
The best part of this place is the service. I always get a "Hello how are you?" and a "What can I get for you?" I appreciate FRIENDLY, and WARM service anywhere I go. I always prefer this place over Cappy's II next door because the friendliness of the staff here makes me feel like I am an appreciated customer.
Mmmmm I love you BHOP! -

I've eaten here only three times sober. It's an after party place to go. I always go after a party or a night out. It's usually empty before 8pm. They now serve rice with all entrees, which I think is hilarious. I now know the exact price for two slices of cheese pizza ($4.20, how funny) and its usually enough to fill you up for like...an hour. Also, this place is never clean. And they don't care so act like its not a big deal.

A drunken man's paradise, a sober man's wasteland. After a night of drinking, this is 5-star pizza, but try it again the next day, and it's pretty "meh". Nothing special about it, and the toppings are a little unappetizing. The BBQ chicken looks days old, and the veggie pizza looks like it just came out of the freezer.
There's better options in the Fenway area. -
Review from Eric F.
Maybe their pizza is sub-par, but i have no complaints whatsoever regarding the salads and delivery. Got my usual grilled chicken caesar salad and it was darn tasty. Combine that with the fact that delivery took just over 15 minutes and we have yet another addition to my salad rotation!

Pre baked pizza that lies out in a case for hours that they just toss in the heater thing to warm it up. Most of the time, they don't even warm the pizza all the way.
The pizza honestly doesn't even taste that good. I pile on salt, cheese, hot peppers, etc and it's still bland!
Service isn't all that impressive either, but that could be due to the proximity to college students all over.
1 star for being open riduculously late though! And I hear the gyros are delicious. Pass on the pizza though... -

So I had just been molested by the doctor and I thought, "I need comfort food."
I suffered the voyage back from the suburbs via commuter rail (someone crashed their Ford into a curb), then bus (someone decided that working on the rails of the orange line is a good idea for Saturday afternoons), and finally the subway (once it was running again), and I ended up walking around the neighborhood in a quest to taste something new.
My eyes were drawn to the flashy colors of blue, yellow, and red that lined the storefront of Boston House of Pizza, or BHOP for those savvy marketing folks.
I ventured inside and ordered myself a small chicken cutlet sub and an order of onion rings (why my belt is screaming today, I have no idea).
The restaurant is spacious and kind of random. It just reminded me of college for some odd reason - a bunch of bright colors to stimulate the eyes, plasma screen televisions to rot the brain, and tiled floors for easy clean up. (I later read the reviews on Yelp for BHOP and learned this is a drunk eats destination - it all makes sense now).
The food was alright, but nothing that made me overly excited. The other meals I peeked at looked kind of gross (a spaghetti and meatball dish and lots of pizza slices were served while I waited). The staff was nice so I didn't really mind when they forgot to cook my onion rings and had to wait a couple extra minutes.
I could definitely see why this is popular for drunkies - greasy late night food from here must be exquisite. However, Saturday afternoon comfort food is merely average and I'd go somewhere else next time. -

Thinking about this place reminds me of my Freshman year of college ::shutter::
The pizza isn't horrendous. It does the trick if I'm drunk at 3 in the morning. My sober ass wouldn't be caught dead in there. -

Boston House of Pizza is a very hit or miss. From time to time my friends and I have had pizza delivered from there and its been decent for the most part. I'm personally not a fan of their non-pizza related meals. One time I ordered a buffalo chicken sub and the quality of the meat reminded me of my high school cafeteria on one of its worst days. Any pizza connoisseur will probably tell you that their pizza blows, but I find that its suitable drunken-fodder to consume on your Friday or Saturday night after you've had a few too many.
The atmosphere inside BHOP is actually okay. Its spacious and there is a lot of seating. The staff is friendly for the most part, however there is one guy that usually works the register who will basically sexually harass any girl you bring along with you. As long as you don't mind your girl being called 'baby' or 'sweetheart' then you probably won't even notice.
I wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to eat at this place, but if you end up there my suggestion would be to stick to the pizza. Friends say that the calzones are pretty good too. -
Review from Julie B.
This review is solely for the boneless buffalo chicken finger dinner. I must have become the #1 customer last year because my roommate and I ordered one (or two) of these dinners a couple times a week. Careful with this if you're trying to avoid a heart attack -- you're eating a big plate of fried food. Oh yea, the dinner comes with a small garden salad as well, as if that's the first thing you're going to dive into...
I'm not a huge fan of any of the other food at BHOP or the line of drunk kids that accumulates around 1:30 AM but the buffalo fingers are a saving grace.Listed in: Where the Huskies Play

Ohh BHop, of all the pizza places around this area this is probably the last place I'd go. The pizza is low quality and I'm not a huge fan of the atmosphere. I tried i Sicilian slice here once and it reminded me of my high school cafeteria.
Would I go here by choice...no...but somehow i find myself always being served BHop. -

Yeah, this place is solidley A-Okay...
They have a ton of soft drink selections, like Fuze and Mystic. All that girly stuff. Their pizza is good (though it doesn't necessarily warrant calling themselves a "House of Pizza"). They have a couple TV's in the place so you have something to distract you from the colleg-y pizza shop decor. I mean cmon, if you don't like the pizza order one of the hundred other menu items they have.
I personally like their CHEESESTEAKS.
I'm from Philly. They keep trying to correct me like, "Oh you mean a steak and cheese?" Well I won't say it! I want a cheesesteak!!! I fought with a woman for 2 minutes straight over this one time. But I digresss.
It's decent fast food. Two stars off because the prices could be lower and the pizza is nothing to name a restaurant over. -

I don't know why people are generally talking about the atmosphere. This is a college pizza place. It's the closest pizza to most students and its reasonably priced. The pizza is fresh and the staff goes out of their way to make you happy. One Saturday afternoon i was there for two hours hanging out and teh guys brought us over a free sicilian pizza just because we were polite and friendly.
You want rude service, thin slices that have frozen toppings, go to Cappy's II it's right next door
I LOVE BHOP AND RANCH DRESSING
oh and their meals are great deals. for like 8 dollars you get huge chicken fingers, tons of their AMAZING FRIES (best i've had, but you ahve to have them fresh from the frier.. delivery makes them a bit soggy as any fries get on delivery) and a lovely dinner salad. DELICIOUS and cheap :) -

Roxbury, MA
A "greek-style" pizza, which I generally don't like. Inspite of myself, though, I'm a big fan of their Sicilian slices. Don't get them when they are piping hot, though. This is definetly pizza that's at its peak after its cooled down and is given a quick reheat in the pizza oven.
Service is generally friendly, especially around lunch time. The nighttime crew is a decidely more "too-the-point" but not rude in the least. Seating is very generous so you never feel rushed and you'll always get a table. They've installed two high-def TV's which offer you something to look at it if you don't mind eating with your neck pointing up. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but its servicable for what it is.
That's the thing about BHoP. For what it is, its good. It doesn't pretend to be anything beyond that. If you're looking for simple, cheap pizza and subs on Huntington Ave, this is a good place to go.Listed in: Pizza to a T: E Line

Good prices and good pizza (but not great). I'd definitely go here again-- but I wouldn't say its the best in town.
Actually, the veggie pizza is quite good-- much better than the cheese pizza, with a nice array of fresh veggies. -

The main reason I like BHOP is b/c I go to NU right down the street and its fun to go there with my friends after parties at 1 or 2 am. Everyone is there and its just fun! Now on to the food lol...
Pizza--the only pizza I like from there is the veggie pizza and the bbq chicken pizza...I don't know, something about the combo of veggies (i pick off the mushrooms though) just tastes really good. And the bbq chicken slice has a nice sauce and good chicken on it. But aside from that, I'm a NY girl and I love my NY style pizza. BHOP is not anything like NY pizza therefore, aside from the veggie & bbq chicken slice, I hate their pizza. The 2 times I had a plain slice, the cheese just tasted weird and the bottom was soggy-ish.
Sides--Their fries are amazingggggg. Their like extra crispy and just mmm so good, not your typical fries at all. I've had their onion rings once, and was not impressed. More fried dough than onion really. I don't know, coulda been a fluke that day, maybe they're usually great...I'll try it again soon.
Sandwiches--I haven't heard great reviews about their sandwiches but I think it depends on what you get. Since I'm a big believer in `Don't knock it till you try it`, against all mostly negative reviews about their sandwiches I've had two types:
1. The Chicken Parm is really good. Nice sauce, good amount of cheese, and nice, thick chicken. The bread is nicely toasted too.
2. I love their cheese steak. I've been going to Cappy's for their cheese steak b/c on yelp its gotten rave reviews for them. But I honestly think BHOP's is better. The 5 or 6 times I've gotten a Cappy's cheese steak, the steak was ALWAYS bland and ridiculously dry. I would douse it in salt to give it some flavor. To help the dryness I would ask for xtra cheese but it didn't seem like I got extra at all., just the same amount as the first time I ordered it with the normal amount they put on it. I think the reason now everyone seems to love their steak bomb is because all the extra fixins help make it taste great. But BHOP's is great on its own. The meat is a lot more flavorful and not as dry, and when I ask for extra cheese I GET extra cheese. The bread is nicely toasted as well. Their cheese steak + their fries = heaven.
Haven't tried anything else but I plan too. My next think to try is the chicken broccoli alfredo..it sounds amazing. I want to try the veal parm too. As for the chicken platter, from what I've seen, its not worth the price at all. You get like 6 itty bitty chicken wings with some fries, add tax and your out 9 dollars. Where as for that same amount I could get much more food there or anyplace else. So definetely not one meal I plan to ever order and I suggest the same to you.
Lastly I love the staff there. They're really friendly and funny, and I love how they know what I'm gonna order before I even get to the register. It just shows their attention to their customers and I appreciate that -

The quality of the pizza (and other food at this place) varies with the time of day and your sobriety. The later, the worse quality the food; the drunker, the better the food. A very typical pizza place, but nothing special, and in my opinion, nothing tasty.
The only two good points: There is a large sitting area, if you want to eat slowly and just hang out. They can handle large orders, as they frequently do for Northeastern's university sponsored events. -

No no no no.
Just don't. Really.
I can't say anything good about this place aside from the fact that it might be opened late and has a lot of seats.
There's a pizza place right next to it that I have never been to. Go there instead if you can't wait to eat. They can't be worse than this place. There's also Boston Shawarma a little further down. If they're opened they're quite good. -

Shrug. I eat it just cuz it's there and when I'm hungry and have got no more than 5 minutes, but besides that? Nah. I always get Sicilian slices and nothing else really appeals to me about this place.
Late night? I go to Cappy's. BHOP doesn't cut it. Even when I'm drunk out of my mind and am unable to walk that I'm using my nails to claw into the pavement and pull myself along the sidewalk...somehow, I find my way to Cappy's instead.Listed in: Pizza

BHOP, I'm glad you exist...because without you I would probably have more hangovers than necessary. HOWEVER...your food is sub-par and the worst thing about it is, you all know it.
Great drunk food...terrible sober food. -

UGH. Worst pizza I've ever had -- it makes Dominos pizza taste like a fresh gourmet slice ordered in Little Italy in NYC.
I ordered a cheese slice and was rewarded with a triangle cardboard crust and tepid, flavorless sauce. As for the cheese -- well, I've had vegan "cheeses" that tasted better.
The only excuse one has to eat here is if you're utterly trashed with friends and order a whole fresh pie. Even then, I'd roll my eyes at you.
Stay away. -

Wowzers, from the sound of the other reviews..I guess I'm the only one who likes this place. I mean, I don't love it. The service is quick, the pizza is tasty... especially the ricotta and chicken pizza. Yum! I love their grilled chicken salad. It's hard to find a lot places that offer french dressing.. and this place does. So it's a done deal for me.
A-OK... I think it's better than Cappy's next door. -

If you know good pizza then know this:
DO NOT GO HERE!
I seriously hate this place, maybe my standards are too high being from near NYC, but sweet GOD their pizza SUCKS. The interior is so cheesy feeling too. Pun lovers, pizza lovers, avoid this place like the plague. -
Review from Shaina S.

If you want a quick meal, go for the pizza. If you don't mind sitting around for a while, order something off the menu.
The pizza is okay. I think it has grown on me. It was either learn to like it, or be miserable with my boyfriend and his friends when they go here. I actually kind of like the BBQ chicken (like Al D. said). It's a little bit sweet and a little bit bright orange... I don't really know why... But it's tasty enough. When any of the pizza is fresh outta the oven, the taste is much improved. They also have surprisingly delicious french fries. Very crispy and yum.
The decor is funny- typical pizza joint bright colors, lots of cushy booths, and tile floors. But there are also these strange faded pinkish pictures of houses and palm trees hanging unnecessarily on the walls. There are also two big flat screens which are a good thing to look at when you're dinnering with a bunch of dudes.
Certainly not gourmet, and not even really that enjoyable, but somehow BHOP works for me.
One time, a roll came with my meal and it had finger dents in it because the guy behind the counter grabbed it too hard with his bare hand. Mmm appetizing... -
Review from Simona S.
Manhattan, NY
I don't know if you fellow Yelpers know this about me, but.... I like to eat. A lot. Especially so if food is given to me. Even if I had a huge meal beforehand, I can always find room in muh belly for a free slice of pizza. Maybe even two.
And that is how I came to eat BHOP pizza. Of course it's disgusting, but it's FREE! Okay, disgusting is kind of harsh, it is VERY edible when I'm hungry and mm-this-is-okay-for-now I guess when I've already eaten. But Northeastern obviously has some kind of contract with them because every time one reads "free pizza," BHOP is sure to follow.
I've been here once late at night and it was scary. Scary because there was lots of yelling, lots of drunken debauchery, lots of me just wanting to eat my pizza without any distractions. I've heard the subs here are good and a friend of mine is constantly seen walking out of here with buffalo chicken calzones even though he swears its not him.
So two stars for the pizza and an additional star because I was there when my roommate Erin C. had to plan an event on campus but couldn't do a BBQ, called BHOP and told them she needed 100 pizzas for the next day. "When do you need them?" is all that they said back.
That's kind of impressive. -

Jamaica Plain, MA
I like this place a lot for a grilled chicken salad, it's pretty decent, and you get pita bread. Sometimes when I'm PMSing I get the 2 slice lunch combo with a cherry coke. I'm craving it now.
The location is picked for overpriced food, right in the heart of major colleges. Plus, there's a huge sitting area with cafeteria-style booths, like the ones from your high school that are rainbow colored. In the winter/spring months come here after 1 pm, before then the place is packed with crazy kids who are swearing, running around, and yelling...
The staff is also really nice and "competent" as I think someone said. -

Let's get this straight people.
BHOP is not somewhere you go because of the pizza. It has the taste and consistency of cardboard, and there are countless better pizza places nearby. It isn't somewhere you go for the food even. The other selections are decent at best. It's somewhere you go because you are drunk.
Location, location, location. BHOP is on the stumbling path back from Matthew's Arena to the Freshman dorms. Or from a friends place. Or who knows where. It's just convenient and college students just like so many other people are creatures of habit. It's where everyone goes and that's why they go there. And it's open until 2 AM.
One star for location and convenience. Second star for the poster of the Gyro Lady. -

Great chicken wings (breaded) and love those battered fries. Chicken tenders are horrible rock-hard deep-fried things. Their sicilian pizza has tons of gooey cheese and a thick oily crust. I personally don't like that. Not the same as Cafe Crunchy's thin crispy crust sicilian pizza.
Open until about 1am and very popular at night. Good place to hangout. -

I never pay for BHOP pizza. A ton of the Northeastern events have it, and thus it seems to become the default pizza place of all the NU students. This pizza is not good. The other food is ok. The 2 slice special is cheap but Cappys II next door has the same darn special.
Do yourself a favor and TRY A DIFFERENT PIZZA PLACE.
Cappys and Cappys II are much better, and if you want really good pizza, walk up to Il Mondo Pizzeria near Brigham Circle, or to Pizza Pie-er on Mass Ave. -

I ate BHOP for lunch two afternoons in a row because they "catered" a work training event I attended (my employer is classy like that.)
Their pizza is average Boston pizza...neither great nor special, kind of greasy, but definitely edible. It tastes like frozen pizza (Celeste, Red Baron,) but with a soft crust.
The calzone I had the next day was the same as the pizza. In fact, I am pretty sure it was a pizza with a second layer of pizza dough over it. It was more like a giant pizza bite or Pizza Pocket than a calzone. Someone ought to inform BHOP that that is not how a calzone is made!
If I'd spent my own money on it, I probably would have only given BHOP two stars. But food always tastes better when it's free, hence the three stars. -

I purchased gift cards from BHOP and paid in cash for it. Now they are not excepting them!! Their service wasn't friendly at all! Every single time I went there to use my coupons, they make me fell like I am getting the food for free like a bum..! In reality I paid for those gift cards and I shouldn't be treated like that!
I will take a legal action against BHOP if this matter doesn't get resolved! -

So the pizza and atmosphere aren't the best, but you have to try the subs and calzones here. Pizza is not really their strength. The chicken cutlet calzone is absolutely amazing!
Prices are also cheap and they deliver. -

Pizza is traditionally the way to go and actually the fries are damn good. This is by no means the greatest place ever, but serves it's role as a NU campus eatery.
I will say, that at like 2:30 in the morning, the atmosphere at BHOP is unique and adds to the atmosphere. -

I've went to some pizza places in Boston ever since i was a kid. I love good made pizza. but when you make a mistake on it, then there's a problem.
This place is one of those mistakes. Their pizza are not very exciting, nor are they distasteful. I've tried their dry and very bland Pizza today, and let me tell you some thing....OMG!!!! how can they destroy a good taste of a pizza.
I feel so sorry for the students around that area. sure their prices are not so bad, the quality of the food are very good. But it's the house of PIZZA!!
I'm very sad about this place, it's not that bad......but it needs to be better. -

I honestly don't know why I keep going here. The portions are really small for the price, and the pizza is honestly pretty bad. It kinda tastes like instant microwave pizza. I've gone here enough to know how bad it is. It's not disgustingly greasy, it's just not tasty at all. I feel like most of its business comes from drunk freshmen at Northeastern. The fries kinda suck too. I am not impressed.

BHOP is one of those places people would end up trashed on a Saturday night when nothing else is open, so the mediocre to poor food wouldn't really taste that bad. Unfortunately for BHOP, it's closed by 12:30.
The food is really poor. The only thing I can recommend on the menu is the chicken cutlet calzone, and even then, it's jumped about $3 in price since I moved here. The pizza is really mediocre at best. The only good thing is that BHOP tends to be the pizza place of choice for Northeastern University, so most days you can find an event on campus where the stuff is delivered and served for free. But even then, free many not be enough to entice you. -

Whatever, this is my favorite pizza anywhere. It's the only place I can eat more than one or two slices from and I love it. not because one slice isn't filling but because it tastes so good to me. Especially right out of the oven. Om nom nom.
I had originally taken off a star for customer service but I realized I don't care, it's delicious and worth the wait. Plus they repainted the inside so now it's black and red, and those are my favorite colors (and, conveniently, Northeastern's colors!). BHOP is the best. -

Boston, MA
This place is a lot better than UHOP down the street. Pretty solid pizza and some great subs. The prices are very fair also, and you can easily get a couple pizzas for under $20.
BHOP has a lot of 'package deals' where you can buy bulk pizzas or subs for a highly discounted rate. This makes this place great for party food or whatever else you'd need a sickly amount of grub for.
In short, check it out. Good stuff, cool people, TONS of college kids, and I always seem to meet people every time I go in here.
