1 review for Boston Bowl Hanover
Um yeah, so I'm really cool. I like to spend my nights at sketchy suburban bowling alleys with friends.
I was back home and decided to spend a low-key Wednesday night with a friend visiting from Syracuse. We didn't feel like driving far and we were catching a movie nearby later that night, so the Bowladrome was our natural choice for some good 'ol candlepin bowling. Back in my high school days, this was the place to spend your weekends. I know, I had a pretty sweet (albeit delusional) childhood...
Anyways, back in 2006, the cooler, hipper, and more worldly Kymm stepped in and thought "Wow, nothing has changed."
Now, realize that I say this NOT in a cutesy-nostalgic-"Oh I miss this place!" way. I mean it in a musky-old-outdated-smoky-saloon way.
The lanes look like glam rockers with 8 inch heels had a dance party on them; completely scuffed & beat up. The tacky, Technicolor carpet reminds me of cheesy 80s outfits. The "food" (if it can even be called that; food typically tends to be EDIBLE) is overpriced and poorly cooked. Bathrooms are rank...don't even get me *started* on the shoes.
I mean, for $7 an hour, you can't really expect much. But c'mon, you'd think they would at least renovate from all the money they mooch off of local high schoolers bored out of their minds in suburbia hell.
But don't hate. I still recall fond memories of this dump; crazy nights of "Rock 'n Bowl" on Friday nights. Whoooo I am too kewl for skool!!

History
Established in 2008
Under new ownership, Hanover Bowladrome, now Boston Bowl Hanover, will undergo a major renovation to be complete by Fall 2009. Open throughout the renovation process, the 17,000 square foot candlepin bowling facility located at 58 Rockland Street in Hanover will be upgraded with state-of-the-art technology, such as automatic scoring, a refurbished interior and exterior, new videogames and a larger snack area with an expanded menu. The new family fun center will operate as Boston Bowl Hanover, under the same owners and management as the venerable Boston Bowl on Morrissey Boulevard in Boston, a Phillips Family Hospitality company.
"We look forward to bringing Boston Bowl to Hanover and the South Shore," said Scituate resident Joe Sammartino, Vice President of Phillips Family Hospitality. "We plan to completely revitalize this property and make it a popular destination for young and old alike."
