This place rocks.  It is the Harry Winston of Sub Z distibution.  Chrisitan Jason is not only a very handsome man but is well versed in the sweet science of kitchen design.

This establishment is gauranteed to outfit a kitchen that would keep junk in Kim Kardashian's trunk.

I Had no problem ordering my washing machine and the guys seemed reasonably helpful and knowledgeable. However, when it came time for delivery everything fell apart. We were told it may be delivered wednesday and if not wednesday then friday.  We said either was fine and waited.

After a failed delivery attempt on wednesday (they couldn't be reached) we were told we were "first priority" for friday and it would be the first delivery that went out and we would get it between 9-11 am. Eleven came and went and when we called we were told that there had been some issues with the truck and it would be there within an hour or so. Fine, a call would have been nice but no big deal - things happen!  It's now past 5pm and no washer. When we called, we were told we were out of luck because the driver was doing deliveries in belmont. No apology of any sort and no explanation of why we were getting jerked around. We live 4 miles from them. I will not be doing business with them again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They may be knowledgeable but their customer service was ATROCIOUS!

We went to the store just to look because it was recommended by our contractor. The sales person that took care of us (Christian) was extrememly knowledgeable, honest, and patient with us. He took the time to walk us around and even explain to us the little differences between the brands. He went on to even suggest to us other places that we can go and compare their prices (like Yale Electric) and he made us feel listen to, and that he had our best interest in mind.

We are still looking around, but if what we find somewhere else is not dramatically cheaper, or better than what they have to offer, I would preffer
to give this guy our business.

They are great at getting your purchases to you quickly at a great price. However, if there are any problems forget it. I had a range hood that didn't fit after I was told it would and I was was out of luck. I called about 5 times and my calls were never returned. When I finally got through to someone, I asked for a refund on the installation and I was told yes. Of coures it never came.

I love my Sub Zero from Boston Appliance! They are conveniently located in South Boston and are friendly, knowledgeable and fast! Check it out. You won't be disappointed. They are waaaaaaay better than Yale Elec.

Learned about this place through Yelp. Yeah Yelp!
Two weeks ago we went out shopping for a new dishwasher. First went to Sozio.. . I liked the old fashioned fast talking salesman, my wife didn't. Then went to Yale. Great displays but prices a couple hundred bucks more than Sozio on every item. (By that time we had decided on a dishwasher and gaas range). Maybe they should focus more on good prices and good service and less on cooking demos and other show biz....but you know, maybe they shouldn't listen to me, they were jam packed with people ready to overpay! Stopped by Best Buy, but they were a mess. Finally, didn't want to do it, but we had our daily Boston, Florida summer thunderstorm, so we headed up to Sears at Cambridgeside. Sears has good selection and their Kenmore stuff has a good reputation. We settled on a Kenmore dishwasher and GE Profile range, both were a decent buy and our salesman was amiable and patient, but he was doing his research as we asked the questions. Placed the order and asked them to wait to complete the order til the following tax-free weekend.

Then the following weekend (this one for those of you who have kept up with this byzantine narrative), I woke wanting to see what other options were out there. I remembered Boston Appliances from Yelp and we went there early (for us 10am) Saturday morning. It's located in a small warehouse deep on Summer Street in Southie. The warehouse has been gentrified so now it is mostly commercial artists and architects and one appliance showroom.

The showroom is very nicely done and compact. They show mostly their high-end stuff and only a few pieces of anything, but they sell everything. Judging by the 3" stack of invoices on our salespersons desk, their primary client is the large developer/construction company (Suffolk, etc). Other than the two employees we were the only ones in the showroom. The salesperson did a great job of letting us look around freely and also directing us to appliances that might fit our needs. While we were browsing he put together spec sheets of a range, dishwasher and over-the-range mounted convection/microwave oven. All his selections were at the price points we specified.

We sat at his desk and he went over the pro's and cons of each item. I had wanted the GE Profile range because it's top rated on the free Consumer Reports site. He suggested a Frigidaire model that was $150 cheaper.  On the convection/microwave he suggested the Sharp model that was $120 less than the competitor, (and also had a broiler which I will love). All in all we were there for a little over a half hour and made a great buy. The showroom was pleasant, the salesman reminded us of Al Pacino in his more debonaire roles. When we got home I went on the Google to research what we had just bought.  Our dishwasher came in $250 less than anyone else. Our range came in $10 less than the next cheapest dealer; and our convection/micrwave was $100 less than anyone else and also top rated. The Frigidaire range he said was comparable to the GE... well I looked at my neighbor's CR and yep, according to them it was the 3rd best with a very close score.

Oh by the way, shipping was free. All in all it was a great experience. If more retailers could recreate that experience with highly knowledgeable employees. great selection and great prices.
