Review from Steve K.

Lunch Buffet is great with pasta station and salad bar. Other food off the menus are great. One of the best sweet potato fries!
Dinner is also wonderful. It has been opened for about 2 yrs now and they are better every time I return. -

Wonderful service, adequate food, value for price. But, why are upscale hotels starting to add cream to the oatmeal in the preparation? I would think that someone who wants oatmeal is at least slightly health conscious, and would like to be able to add at their own discretion. To say nothing about us poor lactose intolerant individuals who may get caught without knowing, and spend some very uncomfortable hours regretting it.
Ok, rant over. Egg whites were perfect. Bacon (for him) a crispy treat. They even added a to-go cup for coffee without us asking....this was a nice touch.
So, final review? Atmosphere outstanding. Value good. Much more convenient than getting on the road and having to park again.
Suggestions to management? Better whole grain bread and don't try to dress up the oatmeal. Keep the fresh berries.....they were delish. -

This is strictly for Monihan's Speakeasy. Speakeasy is a misnomer. If you're advertising to out of town guests (yes, you're in a hotel), you should be featuring the local flavor. In other words, carry Templeton Rye. If it hasn't been stocked there in 3 months, please remove it from the menu. And if the guy who makes Limoncello doesn't work there anymore so that's not available either, please remove that from the menu.
Oh, and be aware of the dice roll. While a fun concept, neither roll worked in our favor.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Bos serves a solid meal for hotel guests. It's a bit too pricey for me to visit for another reason.… Read more »

Review from Diane A.
Tustin, CA
I had dinner here just last night, and I was a bit let down.
The service was just above standard, the restaurant's ambiance was okay - felt like using 6 inch voices during dinner, however, the fact that diners were scarce could have also been a factor.
Friends and I shared dinner, for appetizers, we had their onion rings and seared tuna - both were pretty delicious, but when can you ever go wrong with onion rings???
For dinner we had braised short ribs (the best dish we had), Truffle-oil vegetable risotto, and their waldorf salad. The braised short ribs were delicious, however, their risotto fell a bit flat...and HEAVY for me.
For dessert, we opted for their pistacio creme brulee, which left me unimpressed.
Nonetheless, a Thursday night's dinner isn't the best time to see this restaurant shine - but I'm definitely open to giving Bos a second try and looking forward to a better dining experience. -

Pretty good, the food is good but spendy, some local beers on tap, the speakeasy bar is cool and retro...not my fav place, but a solid hotel bar/eatery. FYI they are remodeling this soon...

Review from Matthew A.
Ankeny, IA
This place is fantastic. Very comfortable and enjoyable. Great addition to downtown dining. The menu with a Midwest flare is a nice touch. And it's not just a niche; they really prepare these items well. The head chef often stops by the table to make sure all is well. Such a gentleman. And by the way, nothing beats a giant warm cookie and ice cream for dessert.
