While driving around town we passed this place and took note. I looked up the reviews and liked what i saw. My wife and I had eaten several big meals while visiting and just wanted something small on the last day in town.
We went in for lumch and was not very hungry so we ordered two slices of pepperoni. It came out fresh and hot, not too crispy, and was delicious.
It is a small place but worth finding a seat.
I do regret one thing and that is not going in with more of an appetite, I really wanted more that one slice. -

Weakest NY pizza I've ever eaten.
First mistake, way too much cheese on the pizza. Waaaaayyyyy too much damn cheese. The top of the pizza should be orange, not ghostly white with 2 inches of cheese.
The sauce was decent. The crust was excellent. They don't cook on a screen, so the consistency is damn near perfect. They just need to work on the quality of their cheese (they use Classico, not Grande), the amount of cheese (they could probably cut food costs by 25% if they'd lighten up a bit) and add a little more zing to that sauce.
Second mistake, freakin' Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia all over the walls. I don't know jack about football, but just by reading the walls in there, I concluded that the Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls, have had a boat-load of all stars and play in Heinz Field. Meanwhile, I learned NOTHING about New York. Amongst the almost vulgar amount of "black n yellow, black n yellow" stuff on the walls, there was one lone 1955 Dodgers vs. Yankees World Series poster. Sad. Maybe the owner is selling Pittsburgh style pizza, but didn't think anyone would eat there if that's what the sign said?
Next time in St. Augustine, I will definitely NOT be visiting Borrillo's. Sorry. -

St Augustine, FL
As a 23 year old woman I am not ashamed to say that pizza is my favorite food. I have tried alot of pizza in St Augustine and this is my favorite so far. The pizza is fairly thin crusted and is very tasty. The rest of the food (pasta and such) is okay, typical for a pizza joint- not amazing but edible.

Amazing, NYC-style pizza. Best in Northeast Florida. Floppy, greasy, super cheesy, crust not too crispy.
They have a punch card (Buy 10 pizzas, get 1 free). I feel like a fatty fat-fat as I acknowledge this, but I've gone through two of these cards in the last year and a half. When I have a hangover or am ridiculously hungry for some reason, this is my go-to food.
The staff is usually really friendly, too...but I'd come here even if they weren't. -

I never expected to find good pizza in St. Augustine, but here it is. Located on the outskirts of historic St. Augustine, Borrillo's is a classic pizza joint. The crust is thin and crisp and the sauce and cheese are just right. Take it to go or sit down and eat your pie in one of their booths. They also serve a variety of bottled beers. Simple and delicious

Damn good pizza in the sunny south.
Straight recommendation is the Margherita Pizza. This pizza is loaded with garlic and cheese, plus thin-sliced, very fresh tomatoes. Add a salad with italian dressing and you've got good eats for two meals.
Their other pizzas are also very good. The sauce is excellent and the ingredients are always fresh and aplenty.
Call ahead if you can because they tend to be busy and the wait can be long if you order in the store.
The only knock is that they are a little pricey. Doesn't keep me away.Listed in: Essential St Augustine

DO NOT EAT HERE! RACIST OWNER! After my fiancee graduated from UNF I decided to take my family that had flown in from NYC, palm beach, orlando and Miami to St. Augustine. After a long day of sightseeing on the trolleys and getting the whole "historical" tour we decided to eat here bc of the "great pizza". We sat down at the last 2 booths vacant bc we were a group of 8, we were reviewing the menu when a heavy middle aged man approaches me from behind and says, & I quote "ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER BECAUSE IF NOT I NEED THE TABLES". I was in disbelief, I'm very BIG on customer service and this was just so unnecessary and unpractical; pretty much I looked back and replied "we're looking over the menu, is that ok with you?" He looks at me in UTTER MADNESS I mean this man was shaking & after 2 minutes of staring at me he says "DONT YOU GET SMART WITH ME!". I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I just arrived from a 7 MONTH deployment with the U.S. NAVY and couldn't believe what I was experiencing almost detaining himself. Obviously we got up, my cousin asked for a refund and after My fiance mentioned that he was rude & nasty to us, he screamed "GET OUT!". what did we do to this man to deserve this type of service? As we left we noticed a caucasian couple had walked in right after us.

Spring Hill, FL
Pizza's were big but not tasty. The service wasn't great at all since there was only one worker on a Thursday night and it was full. Was very hesitant on the 10% off discount. Waited a long time for food. It's very dirty. The tea was super watered down. Garlic bread was okay. Bought mild wings and they were really good.

I've been coming here for pizza for almost 16 years. I think the pizza is better here than in NYC itself. Maybe, I have that opinion because of the nostalgia attached to it. I've never gotten bad feedback from anyone that I've suggested Borrilo's to. The service is a little slow, but the pizza is worth it! Don't get more than two toppings on the pizza, especially vegetables, because the crust will get soggy and kill the experience for you. Enjoy.

Laying in bed on a lazy Sunday morning, my fiance was trying to inspire me to get out of bed. Borrillo's did the trick, but he had to agree to throw on a hat and go. We were in the car in ten minutes.
I would say it's more like 3 1/2 stars, but I'll round up instead of down in this case. We split a large pizza with pepperoni, green pepper, and garlic. As we sat waiting for our pizza to come out, I observed what the other reviewers were talking about: it's a small place. But it's worth vying for a booth.
Our pizza arrived piping hot. It was yummily greasy and dripping with cheese. The foldable slices quickly started to disppear off our pan. We took the last two pieces to the counter to be packed to go; they don't let you do it yourself.
I don't know if it would be worth the drive every time, but it definitely got us out of the house on a beautiful afternoon and I can see us stopping by if/when we're in the area again. -

Oh Borrillo's, I wish I could give you 6 stars. This is the best pizza I have ever had. We drive from Orlando just to indulge in this amazing perfection. I personally recommend meatball, ricotta and mushroom but you really can not go wrong with anything here.

Best pie in town! Good people who work there. Always a familiar face. Calazones to die for. Roni with ricotta on a crispy crust, (ask for crispy - Perfect everytime.) Fills the my Fuel Productions crew every time. TY!! ~JR~

Best pizza in St. Augustine maybe even Jacksonville too. Trust me, its as close to NY style pizza as it gets. I've had pizza in both NYC and Long Island. They have a great value on the lunch special, two slices and a drink for less than $7. The place is small so around noon when it is crowded you might have to wait for a table/seat. But it is definitely worth the wait and conveniently located on San Marco Ave.

My husband and I strolled up north of the hotel and wandered into this place. We ordered, noticed the Best of Jax covers from several years in a row, sat down, looked on yelp and found many 5 star ratings and then the pizza came... G-R-O-S-S!! One of the worst pizzas I have ever had. Canned mushrooms, little tiny sausage nuggets like Domino's uses and the cheese and sauce were pretty awful. They had the kitchen door wide open to the street. Which I think is a clear violation of the Florida Health Code.

Best NY pizza you can get this far south! The ingredients are noticeably fresh and generous. Their specialty pizza includes pepperoni and sausage sandwiched in between two thin layers of melted mozzarella ... all topped with veggies. As an added bonus, you can watch your pizza as it's being made through the windows in the kitchen.

Tried a pepperoni pizza the other day on a "day trip" to St. Augustine. Very good, with plenty of cheese. Check it out for yourself!

St. Augustine, FL
My husband and I have lived in St Augustine for 3 years and always just drove by. Tried it a week ago and have already eaten there 3 times! We've tried the Philly cheesesteaks, garlic bread with cheese, and pizza. All are excellent. Service is good, too--the owner/manager even brought our carry-out order to our car on our recent visit--unexpected, but appreciated in this cold weather! Never eaten in there because it's always very busy and seats are scarce. Would definitely recommend!

Gross. Any pizza place that uses canned mushrooms is nasty. I'm not sure if the other reviewers are employees, but something smells.
