I have nothing but good things to say about the resort, and the people working here.

Every june, a group of about 20 photo students from San Francisco take a trip down here for a week and spend the whole week photographing in and around the desert. We ALWAYS stay here on our trip and everyone is more than accommodating.

The suites were more than what we had bargained for the first time staying here. Beds were huge, very comfy (a bit too many pillows.. but whatever), good size TV. Kitchenette had enough for us to put all our booze (because come on.. it's Borrego, at the end of the day wtf are you gonna be doing out there? uh yah, drinking.). The maids- phenomenal. I dont know how many times I'd leave the room not a complete mess but kinda messy (hung over, not wanting to speak to anyone) and come back in 20 minutes from the pool and everything is just perfect. They all have smiles and speak to us. Loved it

Free Wifi in the rooms. Big plus. The pool is a nice size, and there is a spa now however I haven't tried it out. Their gym is pretty small but who are we kidding, like 3 % of tourists work out on their vacations ;)

I can't say enough good things about the service here. Example. My drunk ass locked myself out of my room at 3 am. A few of us stumbled to the front desk. The man was polite, smiled, gave us a new key without a fee and wasn't judgey at all. I mean, we were obnoxious. And he was so polite. Awesome.

This is why we've been coming every summer for 10 years. And plan on coming back. Every year.

A nice 110 mile get a way on the Harley til Sat. afternoon. 85 degrees. With Honey Bunny. Ok place to stay at. Too big pillows for me.
Lots of golf talk if you like golf.

We got off to a rough start when we thought our room key didn't work. We went back to the front desk and negotiated for a better room, that was not on the ground floor and that wasn't looking directly at the pool. I'm on vacation, not display.  It's a good thing this happened since we saw someone else already in our room through the open balcony door, as we walked back to our car. Our new room was still facing the pool but at least not directly looking at it and we were on the second floor. We had to wait for the new room to be ready so we drove in to town and grabbed a bite to eat. When we returned to get our new room, I tried to tell the lady at the front desk about the error (room already occupied) however she didn't understand and I didn't feel like bothering to explain. I was on vacation after all, not teaching.

That said, the room was good sized and more like a 1 bedroom apartment minus a full kitchen. The bed was huge and comfortable and the bedroom and living room were both roomy. Plus they each had a big flat screen TV in each one! The balcony is huge even if the outside furniture is on the small side. There were lots of birds in the trees around the hotel. The kitchen area was adequate but lacked any silverware or even paper towels. The cabinets and drawers are all empty. Luckily we brought the few silverware items we needed with us.

I agree with previous reviews about the annoyance of the lights being on timers. You can turn them off with a button, but there is no way to keep them on if you are laying in bed reading without looking like you are doing very slow exercises. Also it's not very helpful when you plug in your ipod to charge, not realizing the outlet is on the timer as well. Also the wifi is slow so streaming any video is out of the question unless you like to watch your movies 30 seconds at a time with about a 30 second break in between plays.

We purchased a package that included a boxed lunch for each of us and I was pleasantly surprised at the food in my lunch. My wife got a veggie meal and she said the sandwich could have been better. It did include a decent amount of food, including a bag of chips (Frito's, Doritos), an orange, cookies and a bottle of water. So the other stuff probably made up for it.

Mostly a quiet hotel except for the Senior's water arobics class in the morning, which consisted of 18 or so elderly ladies and one enterprising elderly man.

Generally a good experience and I would stay there again.

ok guys ... you have to keep your expectations in check ... ITS BORREGO SPRINGS.  Its not even remotely close to Palm Springs.

BUT, with that said ... its a GREAT get-away.

The rooms are very comfortable.  Bed was great.  Free WIFI in the rooms and nice flat screen TVs.  The pool is pretty big for a small resort and the restaurant on the property, Arches, has very good food (albeit pricey).  There is a new Spa, which has a separate pool area.  I did not partake but I heard good things from other guests.

Golf course was closed for re-seeding at the time of my visit but it looked relatively nice.

Most importantly, you can't beat the laid back, no traffic, no crowds atmosphere.  Its a VERY quiet place.

We spent five nights here. Our room had its quirks--the lights were all on timers, and we had to keep waving our arms to keep them on if we were sitting around reading. The rooms aren't soundproofed very well, and the little mini-fridges are sort of noisy, especially if you're sleeping on the pull-out couch. The WiFi also went down the last day we were there.

But what I really wanted to write a review on was The Arches restaurant. This was one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. We went on Friday night and I had the prime rib special. It was the worst red meat experience of my life. I was starving and it was still terrible. My father had swordfish that tasted like it had been frozen for a year. The best part of this meal was the bread and butter.

The service is always with a smile! But definitely skip The Arches and go anywhere else for dinner.

I would suggest coming during the summer, but then you really might, and then it will get jam packed and I won't like it anymore.

But we like visiting this resort in the summer, when the desert is a ghost town, the pool is uncrowded, the rates are low, and everything else.
The heat is fine as long as your by the pool or inside watching a movie on the flat screen.

Clean, friendly staff, fitness center, everything was simple yet top notch.  Oh, they even have spa services now--and the spa has it's own pool!  I didn't partake in that --but let me know how it is...

i had an excellent stay at the resort during the off-season in june.  Borrego Springs Resort is the nicest place to stay, unless you would like to pay hundreds of dollars a night.

the rooms are lovely with high-end details like robes and down duvets (although much too hot for june in the desert, even with the AC!).  the service was very pleasant and helpful, even let me use their computer when the wireless access was not working properly.

there is a downside to the resort though - the fitness room.  the facility is nice but the machines are terribly outdated.  the treadmill specifically was a dinosaur - a lawsuit waiting to happen in my opinion.  perhaps there is not enough demand for the upgraded machines, but it could be a very easy fix for them and worth the upgrade.

There aren't many options in Borrego Springs, which can make picking a hotel somewhat nerve-wracking. We recently stayed at the resort while we visited Borrego to attend a wedding. We really enjoyed our stay! The rooms are very big and the beds are so comfortable-- tons of pillows, a fluffy duvet and a feather-topped mattress. We slept like babies. I was sad to leave that lovely setup.

It was great to get up in the morning and jump on the free WiFi before going down to the Arches for breakfast. The Arches is okay-- they had just finished doing some painting and the scent of the chemicals used was incredibly strong, so we ate out on the patio with a view of the golf course and hills. Very pretty! The food was good but our server seemed overwhelmed (but she was very sweet.)

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and everyone we encountered who worked for the resort was cheerful, accommodating and laid-back. A great desert retreat!

Great air conditioning, nice pool, and comfortable bed. I'd definitely stay at the Borrego Springs Resort again if I were going to be travelling back to Borrego. The hotel room was quite comfortable with flat screen television and even bathrobes.

Ate dinner at the resort's dining facility, and the food was pretty tasty for being in the middle of the desert. The waiters were really helpful and the salmon/chicken pot pie was good. I'd suggest making a reservation if you're going to be going on the weekend for dinner, it seemed like reservations were pretty popular, particularly for the outdoor tables which have a wonderful view of the golf course.

No complaints, it was a great stay.

All things considered, one of the better places in Borrego for a cocktail or 5. The location is amazing and the views from the bar and restaurant are awesome.

The food is ok, some of the entrees are even pretty good. My advice would be to stick with the bar menu and dine in the bar. The bartenders are very friendly and the service is great.

Possibly the best part about this place is the decor. It is vintage late 60s early 70s with a sunken bar. It was designed by renowned San Diego modernist Henry Hester. The fireplace in the banquet room is unbelievable. The glass with mitred corners overlooking the golf course is fabulous. They were working a 5 star review until the current management decided to paint (they called it stain ha ha ha!!!) the original Honduran mahogany interior siding. I think they actually used nail polish rather than paint and whoever actually did the painting may have been paid in cocktails because the nail polish is all over the place...on the glass and stucco as well....nice work people.

Anyway, aside from the very poor "updating"  this place is pretty great; reasonable prices, good food, amazing views and a few gallons of nail polish remover away from a damn fine piece of mid-century architecture.

We visit the Borrego Springs Resort probably once or twice a year. It is a great place to go. We like to take our quad runners to the dessert, get dirty and come back to the resort and take a nice shower or swim in one of the pools. We also like to go to their restaurant its always been good, both service and food. We will return soon before the sun gets to hot.

Hands down - Best Place to Stay in Borrego Springs!

I love this place and try to get out there 3-4 times a year. Everyone is super friendly, the rooms are comfortable, it's got a great pool to cool down in and the bar is great. The bartenders are real friendly and the view of the golf course and mountains is fantastic. Prices are good too. Great place for you and your loved one or couples to get away.

Room was clean and comfortable.   Good water pressure and hot water.   They even gave us a lower rate than we had reserved for and it was already a good deal.  The nearby restaurant is decent also (you're in the middle of the desert, after all).

I don't expect perfection but I do expect a clean cup to drink from.  The  cups in room had old coffee and the pot still had coffee itn it... Room service menu is good - shows 0630 as opening time but does not start until 0700.  The service is great and coffee from room service is good. Waitress in the bar is great  she knows her menu and is very friendly . Still, can't get past the dirty environment in my room.

We have stayed here a couple of times a year over the past couple of years.  Always clean, comfortable and an enjoyable experience.  The rooms were recently redone and are very nice.  The comforter on the bed is almost too fluffy!  The Arches Restaurant has decent - not great - food, but the view overlooking the golf course and out to the mountains is beautiful and relaxing. It's a great place to stay in Borrego. We just got back and are planning another trip soon.
