Fantastic place to relax in between class, meet up with friends, have a cup of joe, or just catch up on some work. It gets loud in here from time to time so I wouldn't count on being able to really study here, unless you have superman concentration skills. The coffee here isn't going to be life changing though. Sorry, coffee snobs.

Where great minds come together to discuss revolutionary ideas and theories of quantum mechanics....or have a good cup of joe.
Borjo is your hip local ODU coffee place where one can enjoy his coffee and a delish bite to eat. From pita pockets stuffed with fresh chicken salad to over-sized melt in your mouth cookies, they have everything to satisfy any appetite. A friendly staff leaves you wanting to come back for more and I hear they have a great selection of brews for your after dark study sessions in chemistry and mixology ;)

I love Borjo's. Their coffee and food is great and priced right. Very nice atmosphere and great service.
Unfortunately I'm trying to tame my caffeine addiction or I'd be there right now!

The anti-Starbucks for those superliberals on the ODU campus, Borjo serves up a hot cup of joe and some light food.

I don't have any issues with Borjo, but I rarely visit.  I'm addicted to Starbucks, even if it is the idea of it.  Check it out if you've never been, it may surprise you!

Staff is good, but most baristas are.

Borjo is the closest local coffee shop to my house and its a wonderful place to grab a cup of coffee, kick back in the comfortable leather chairs and simply relax. Great selection of coffee options, friendly staff, and tasty treats. I've had the breakfast paninis a few times and they have always been pretty good. Nothing mind blowing, but definitely consistently good. Pastries and other treats are good as well, but again, nothing incredible, just consistent. Crowd is mostly college age, but the scene is always casual and comfortable. Some live music and other events really give it the local coffeehouse feel.

One other lesser known thing about Borjo is the happy hour, some great beer and wine selections at wonderful values. You'll feel slightly out of place drinking here, but still a wonderful place to grab a casual drink without a lot of noise and drunks.

If you're familiar with my reviews you know that I love a good coffee house and this place is no exception and if you're not familiar then let me tell you I love a coffee house.

Borjo is cozy ... and young.  Located in the ever growing ODU student village area behind the Ted Constant Convocation Center.  The decor is a modern mix of tile and cherry wood floors, yellow and terra cotta walls, exposed interior walls and a fully stocked bookshelf near the fireplace.  The walls were filled with local art for sale.

I only had coffee which I enjoyed but they do have quite a little menu like panini's, sandwiches, and salads.  Muffins and pastries are baked in house daily.  They have an ABC license so don't be surprised and if you fancy a glass of wine or a beer well then why not?!  Wi-Fi is free and not only do they appreciate local art but music as well.

There's no shortage of young people around which offers a different buzz.

I like this place, but it's not the best coffeeshop around. To me, it's nice because it's on college campus and that's good for the people at the college. However, if you want to go there to sit down, drink some coffee, and get some work down - this probably isn't the place. It tends to be on the loud side, there aren't a whole lot of spots/near outlets to set up, and I personally don't love the coffee drinks. I've never had the food, but have heard good things. I think this place is good - and if you are close by I would recommend it over Starbucks, but I think there are better places in the area.

Maybe it's just because it's near a college campus, but Borjo has that crunchy granola feel.  It's the kind of place where vegans breathe a sigh of relief when they look at the menu.  It's the kind of place where tortured poets have a favorite chair where they write until closing and drink their coffee black.  It's the kind of place where i-pad users post up in the window seats and dart their eyes between the streets and their favorite e-book.

I stumbled in here one day, sans i-pad, book, notepad or artistry to meet a professor.  I was starving and my stomach and heart sank when I looked at the menu.  For a fast food, fried and smothered junkie like myself, the only slightly appealing dish I found was a grilled cheese sandwich.

I used to frequent Elliots more often for a study spot, but after discovering Borjo this became my favorite spot.

Diverse clientele (college students mainly, some medstudents, neighborhood folk of all ages) that are all welcome. They have alot of tables (which Elliots did not) but also some chairs/couches. Also free wifi!
If you often enough they remember your order and Rob the owner is often around. Vanilla Italian soda which is surprisingly hard to find, except at Starbucks. Their food is decent too especially the hummus and breakfast wrap.

The only downside is parking is limited to two hours on the street.

Borjo is a favorite of my fiance and although I'm not into the coffeehouse scene, I'm a fan as well.  When I was a student at ODU, I would randomly stop in for tea.

Last night we stopped in so he could work on homework and I worked on some emails just for a change of scenary.  The staff is so friendly and the food was really great.  We both had the chicken salad wrap, shared some hummus and he had coffee.  I think 6.95 is a bit high for a chicken salad wrap, but it is what it is!  Still excellent place!

The best thing borjos has going for it is it's not Starbucks. The smoothies are great, and the brewed coffee is pretty good. But the espresso drinks are average and I'm not a big fan of their ice coffee. But free wi-fi and a great vibe from the staff and the deco makes this the closest thing to a true coffeehouse around odu.

Me: Young professional always looking for a cool spot to catch up on office work while traveling the country for work.
Needs: Good food, drinks, cozy spaces and free wi-fi is cool too.

Borjo is definitely a "cool" coffee shop for college students. There were a ton of groups there studying or just hanging out. Some kids pulled out the board games that are stocked for customers- cool feature. But the hang-out scene and loud music wasn't the best for my "catch-up" work.  I parked myself at a table by the wall but the leather chairs looked soooo inviting.

I had the thai salad and added grilled chx. This was a HUGE plate of yummy greens and veggies for under $10. Unfortunately, I didnt go for a coffee drink because I actually wanted to hit the sack shortly.

I wouldnt recommend this place for business travelers, unless I hit it on an off night.

Wish this place had been around when I was an undergrad! I just started grad school and I'm only there once a week but I make sure to go between classes every Tuesday! They make a great soy latte and I love their veggie wrap with hummus. Friendly staff, nice place with local art on the walls, relaxing atmosphere.

There's a starbucks in the building where I have both my classes but I cross Hampton Blvd. to hit up Borjo instead.

Holy mackerel this IS the best chicken salad around. I drive north from the waterfront for lunch quite frequently to take a break from work. Parking is easy- either metered out front or side street parking. There is also patio seating for the warmer months. Around lunchtime there's a real variety of folks, old, young, students, academics, and its nice to be around people who are reading interesting books.

Friendly staff, and they make a cafe au lait the RIGHT way and not full of foam like most places who make it like a cappuccino with coffee.  Pass on the baked goods, though, the few I've tried were not flavorful enough to be worth the calories!

Borjo Coffeehouse is the primary watering grounds for Old Dominion students and professors alike. While this may seem a little exclusive, it actually makes for the perfect destination whenever you bring work home from the office or want to get some reading done that you've always meant to get around to.
Borjo is on a corner in the Village, and seems plucked from a larger city and transformed into a clubhouse for those interested in art, coffee and good company. The prices are student friendly, making them especially nice to anyone's wallet.
My drink of choice is the banana soy latte that tastes like banana bread. It is incredibly warming to the body and soul during blustery months. The regular cups of coffee are also tremendously good because Borjo takes great pride in its bean selection.
If you celebrate coffee, wine (yes, they have wine too!) and local art,Borjo is the place to bring a book, curl up on one of the armchairs and get away from the fast pace outside.

There are not a lot of good coffee shops in the Hampton Roads area, but Borjo is one of the exceptions.  I've never had a bad cup of coffee there and the atmosphere is conducive for working or relaxing.  It's a welcome change from the overwhelming amount of Starbucks in the area.  And if you come by after work they even have a few really good beers on tap, Starr Hill and Aventinus.

Borjo Coffeehouse is a nice little coffee shop in the ODU shopping area of Norfolk.  I would say that this is a typical college kid hang out though, because the time I visited it seemed to be all college kids inside studying and taking advantage of the free WiFi. They have a very good selection of coffee here from lattes to espresso and everything in between. Also they serve food items here; sandwiches, soups, some vegan options, and salads are just some of the things you'll find on the menu. The coffee here isn't spectacular but it is good enough, and the atmosphere of the shop is very nice. I would rather sit inside this coffee shop and sip on a drink rather than sitting inside of a Starbucks.

Great coffee, great service, and a fantastic atmosphere! I love coffeeshops without that commercial, homogenized feel (not to name any names *cough*Starbucks*cough*) that tend to be overrated anyways. Borjo is a hangout that offers just what I crave. Their breakfast quesadillas are AMAZING, the fresh OJ sublime. The only food complaint I have is with the bagel with lox. It was just a little off the mark. Other than that, any day with an inclusion of Borjo is a Great Day.

Borjo Coffee House... I love it.  It's has a nice, relaxed atmosphere with free WiFi, good snacks, and great coffee.

The people behind the counter (baristas, if you must) are always friendly and they make good coffee, quickly.

Gift certificates are available in any amount, and according to the sign behind the counter anyone who purchases a gift certificate for $1,000,000 or more will be entitled to free coffee whenever they're in the store for life.  (That's the brewed, not the espresso or capuccino.)  As far as I know, no one has taken them up on this offer...

Hi to Rob.  (One of the always-present owners of Borjo, always seems to be in a good mood and ready to help out.)

Love, Love, Love Borjo's!  I've tried most of the menu and you can't really go wrong.  The food item i go back to again and again is the chicken salad wrap.  It's wonderful, lots of big chunks of chicken and dried cranberries.  Coffee is spot on.  I also enjoy an italian cream soda every once and a while and they mix it perfectly.  This is also the perfect place to grab a glass of wine or beer and appetizer before a concert at the Ted Constant Center.  Aparently there is a Star-you-know-what's across the street, but I've never noticed :)

Super-friendly staff and quiet, cozy atmosphere with comfy chairs, books, and Internet access. Great place to study or just hang out. As an individual who is a home roaster of coffee I tend to taste stale coffee.  Keep in mind that coffee beans begin to stale right after roasting.  Once ground the stale party is in full force.  I can easily state that the coffee here was excellent!  Smooth very easy to sip with no bitter notes.  In addition both breakfast and lunch fare is tasty and fresh. The shop is in the heart of Old Dominion University, close to the campus bookstore plenty of street metered parking. They also serve wine and beer.
