Well, I guess it'll do in an extreme emergency, and only until you can get to a REAL hospital.
This place is abysmal, though it's no fault of the doctors, nurses, techs, and other staff members.
In fact, one of the best procedures I ever had was in the Emergency Room at Pipp. Fortunately for me, Dr. Akiyoshi Kido was on-call (and lived down-the-street from me) when I fell through a window and needed to have some quick-n-dirty reattachment performed. His work was neat and precise, and his demeanor was pleasant and soothing.
I have at times found this hospital to be dirty and slow-to-respond. I have also had an incident where procedures that should have been done were overlooked (i.e. an X-ray when coming in with a severe head injury). There's a constant odor of what one desperately hopes is lingering leftover hospital grub.
In any event, if you're able to choose where to be admitted, whether for the birth of your baby or the tuck of your tummy, choose another hospital. If you're bleeding profusely and in danger of death without some sort of medical intervention, weigh your options and if you just can't make it to the next closest hospital, go to Pipp.
