Review from Billy V.
Through my generosity I have bought two chairs and a table at The Borgata over the weekend. I hope they use them wisely, since I will be returning in a few months to take them back home. Ha-Ha. Ah yes a Casino...........
The Borgata has all the bells and whistles of a Vegas Casino; trendy clubs, high end restaurants, spa, etc., etc. I do enjoy the overall experience, but I tend to stay at other hotels since the price point tends to be 20 to 50 percent lower there for rooms. Obviously, the crowds vary from day to day and they seem to not cater to the slot playing bus crowd. This is nice.
There is plenty of Gaming here at various starting bets from $5 to High Roller $500 plus. Sic money is gambled in this Casino. I tend to hit the poker tables and the play here is good. The Borgata Poker Room has taken over the AC poker scene. The Taj use to be the man, but no longer. All the other Casinos seem to be fighting to get players from here. This is nice for the consumer.
I know that there are plenty of very good restaurants in AC, but I tend to always hit the Borgata Buffet. At $16 for Breakfast, $21 for Lunch and $26 for Dinner you just can't beat the deal. I seem to be comp from visit to visit, so it works for me. I must say, that the quality, presentation and overall experience is very high. The selection is huge and they have open kitchens for various food item preparation. Wok station, pizza ovens, grills, etc. It is a very visual, appealing and comfortable place for a meal. The dining room is huge with 400 plus seats. It is designed and built around the front of the Buffet so you are within a short walk to the goodies.
Overall this is a pretty good place to spend a day or weekend. Like any Casino if you have unlimited funds your options are greater, but you can definitely afford to have plenty of fun at The Borgata. There is value here with a high level of service across the board. -

I stay at hotels a lot - I even stayed here about 2 years ago and LOVED it. But, The Borgata has drastically gone downhill. I stayed here Jan 16-18th and I was just really let down by this place.
Don't get me wrong, it's better than staying at The Tropicana crap hole or anything by the board walk which is just nasty. But I really just had higher expectations. The rooms are really gorgeous and we got a great view.
It cost $12 to go to the gym for 1 day, it used to be free. The pool was nice.. but it got dingier and the floor was dirty and gross. Plus the snack bar was closed the entire vacation which was such a disappointment.
Also, THREE of the restaurants were closed - including the best ones: Wolf Gang Puck's restautant and Bobby Flay's -- MAJOR LET DOWN. The long bar was a great bar though, amazing service and legit cocktails. The B bar was gross and reaked of smoke and creepy old men that looked like they were masturbating under the table.
The best deal is Izakaya monday's - $7 cocktails that are ill and really good food for $7, including amazing tuna tartar and sushi rolls. The food is absolutely amazing, by far the best meal I had there. Plus after spending $20 you get free admission to Mur Mur their club. The room service was amaaaazing too.
One really annoying thing.. the maid NEVER cleaned! She'd half make the bed and then harass us for tips.. like no go away please you didn't even clean my bathroom.
The whole hotel reeks of smoke, so if this bothers you.. stay home. However, the staff is really friendly everywhere which was awesome. Even the security, which (if you look under 40) will card you every 3 seconds.
The gambling was pretty legit too. Winter poker was really nice and in a great room. They keep the free drinks flowing which was also great. The slots are fun but as said before reeks of smoke, even in nonsmoking sections.
Pros: Friendly service, gorgeous rooms, Izakaya is delicious, Long Bar is awesome, gambling is fun.
Cons: Place is looking a big run down, maid service sucked, all the good restaurants were closed, the pool is dingy and.. everything is just OKAY. -

Feeling like a king? Want to feel like a king?
Borgata.
Borgata is easily my favorite casino, hotel and performance venue of all of the casinos in Atlantic City, and the classiest of them all.
The building and interior design is extremely classy; walking through its luxurious halls, stores and restaurants that surround its casino area makes you feel as though you are running a casino heist with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle.
Everyone who works at Borgata is extremely friendly, and it's no surprise. Performers love Borgata. I've seen Jim Gaffigan do a great stand-up set in their (huge) performing arts auditorium.
The restaurants are incredible. The buffet is to call home about ("Um, dad, you better come down here"), as is the gelato place (it's like you're transported to Italy while waiting in they gelato line).
The hotel itself is fantastic. The rooms are well-decorated and classy. The presidential suite is everything anyone would imagine a presidential suite to be (heaven in a hotel room in New Jersey).
While Borgata isn't located on the boardwalk like some of the other casinos, it is only a short jitney ride away from both the boardwalk and the outlet shopping center.
Borgata is a classy place. Period. -
Review from Lisa S.
For my first time in AC, we decided to stay at the Borgata. We arrived around 1pm on a Friday and they let us check-in early. Fabulous! Our room was on a high floor and had a gorgeous view of the bay. The bathroom was reaaalllyyy nice- it had a shower with a bench and a separate toilet room. Our room was nicely decorated and spacious, and it was very easy to control the temperature. Absolutely no complaints with the room! (Although be aware that they have different elevator banks for different floors- if you're going to floor 37 for example, you need the 35-45 floor elevator. This will save you from getting onto an elevator and then staring at the floor keys, wondering where your floor is while everybody else thinks you're an idiot).
Around 1:30pm, we headed to the casino floor. We were looking to have some cocktails and appetizers, since we hadn't had lunch. However, nothing was open where you could order alcohol besides the B Bar. We weren't a fan of the B Bar- overpriced, dark, smokey and loud with no food- and we left after a drink. Eventually we found The Long Bar, which opens at 2pm during the week, and it was perfect- the food and drinks were great. But we wished there had been more options for an afternoon drink and snack!
After filling up, we walked around the casino floor and played a few games. As non-gamblers, we loved the big wheel of fortune slot machine and "The Big Wheel" game- no idea what its official name is. However, the workers at the big wheel tended to be grumpy, and didn't explain the rules to people who came up, while yelling at the ones who broke them (i.e. one girl next to us had never played at a casino before, and she would put money down in the wrong place, or put her drink on the table, and he would just yell at her and she had no what the rules were or what she was doing wrong. She was a tiny bit tipsy, but still- they should have a sign for people who don't know the unspoken rules of casinos, or be nicer about it). We did manage to have a lot of fun, though.
Then we headed for dinner at 5:30pm at Wolfgang Puck. People were dressed way more casually than we expected- track suits seem to be a hit in Jersey- but the food was amazing and the service was great. After dinner, we headed to a Rob Thomas concert at The Music Box. The acoustics were great, the venue was intimate (1,000 seats) and he sounded even better than on his CDs (no offense Rob). After the concert, we played the big wheel and slots some more- it had gotten much more crowded during the day, and with a younger and more outgoing crowd.
The next morning, we ordered room service breakfast which was tasty and prompt (but equally expensive as other hotels). One complaint: a maid knocked on our door loudly around 10, even with our privacy sign up, and asked us when we were checking out, and didn't seem happy when we said 11 (when check-out is!). After we checked out, we headed to the shops, which were fun as well. We got some wine and some souvenirs. After shopping, we picked up our car (valet was $5) and drove to the AC boardwalk to walk around.
Overall, the Borgata was beautiful and a blast- it provided endless entertainment, food, drinks and fun over 24 hours! I'd highly recommend the Borgata to anyone considering a trip to AC. -

I've stayed at the Borgata (and Water Club) twice now... it's my favorite AC hotel! It's beautiful. Great dining, great clubs... perfect atmosphere.

Review from Gary L.
Borgata has to be the best casino in Atlantic City. With the addition of the Water Club, it's the place to be in Atlantic City. The service is great and the girls looks good too. The casino floor here is great. The slots and tables are organized unlike Golden Nugget and some of the other casinos in AC. Another thing I like about Borgata is the fact that there aren't that many old farts that come here. There's a younger crowd in Borgata but that's not always a good thing either. You might run into the occasional young gun jerk while playing poker or black jack.
Overall, I really enjoy coming to Borgata whenever I have the chance. I love the pool at the Water Club and the girls that serve your drinks at the casino floors look great. The waitresses at Golden Nugget and all of the Trump casinos are all hideous beyond belief. I don't mean to sound like a jerk but they're way passed their prime. -

Me: "Hi Ma'am I am checking into that waterclub tower"
Front Desk :"Excellent sir, may I have your name please"
....
Security Guard by the elevators: "Welcome sir, where are you heading tonight"
Me: "The waterclub. Right here, correct?"
Guard: "Yes sire, but I apologize. There is no outside alcohol allowed in the waterclub"
Me: "So your saying I can't bring up the two 30-racks of Busch Light so my friends and I can rage ballz?"
Guard "No sir, You need to check them in with the concierge"
Me: "Dammit"
Luckily, the concierge desk is available 24-7 so when its 5 AM and you want to rage elsewhere you can stumble over to that desk and tell some poor old woman that you want to check out your beer. And did I tip? Hell no because they shouldn't have taken my sweet nectar in the first place. I was looking to turn my bathtub into a giant beer cooler and these people and their stupid rules prevented me from doing that.
Other than the booze issue, which would have been an easy fix given the appropriate warning this place gave off a much more youthful vibe than the other AC hotels I have been too. Hope of clubs such as MIxx and MurMur, this is the place you would likely end up coming to party anyway, so it is very convenient to stay here in the first place.
With a delicious Vegas style buffet, and restaurants operated by people like Bobby Flay (actually spotted him while there) and Wolfgang Puck you aren't deprived of a solid dining option.
I would definitely come back here again. Just with better preparation for the situation described above. And I also wished they were more understanding to the fact that I am going to shout loud obscenities when my friends are winning thousands of dollars while I am hammered at 7AM.
On the bright-side nobody stopped us from shotgunning the last of our beers right outside the front doors. Not sure if we got lucky or those types of activities are actually permitted.
Long story short, Borgata actually has class and the rest of the boardwalk casinos have turned into dumps. It is probably at a caliber way to good for me but I am willing to pay the extra money for the option of luxury and you should too. -

I believe that this casino is the 'best' one out of all the ones located in AC. With its crazy purple and neon green lights, it looks 'attractive' compared to the others in the main hubub of casinos in town - the Borgata is kind of off in its separate area, and even getting into the self-park garage can be a loopy experience with all the turns you make. However, they have the best parking rate for $5 - you can't beat that compared to the minimum of $15 you'd pay at the other places by the boardwalk. While there aren't that many stores and boutiques to shop at inside the Borgata, it looks nice and classy inside, cleaner, brighter, and a bit more buzzing with people than the others.

For AC, Borgata lives up to the hype.
Short review, simply because the rating says it all.
I get my rooms comped or discounted because I gamble often.
I think the Waterclub is a nicer property than the Borgata. The rooms are updated with more modern technology and have slightly better views.
The casino itself has a great variety of table and electronic games. I will say that the crowd is usually okay, except the weekends when the a**h*le New Yorkers show up. They take over everything with a wonderfully obnoxious overtone.
On my last vist there was an issue with the water. Apparently AC has issues with iron deposits in the water. AC lost power and the Borgata's water treatment was affected. Our room's water supply turned brown. Ugh. So that may have been out of there control, but how they handled it was ridiculous. This has happened a few times in the past, according to the Borgata's employees. But management seemed ill-equipped. I was not able to use our water supply (showers/toilets/sink water) for hours.
So a minor black-mark on my experience that day. Overall, the Borgata is my favorite casino in AC and I will continue to frequent the property.

I spent a Monday nigh at the Borgata for a 21st birthday and overall really liked the stay. I didn't like that the smoking section of the casino was at the entrance to our hotel so you can't walk by there without smelling like smoke, also the rooms could have been a bit cleaner, the bathroom mostly in the corners of the floor. The showers were some of the best hotel showers I've had, very spacious, and you can adjust the pressure and temperature separately. The beds were comfortable as well! I wish we were able to access wi-fi for our phones from our room but the only place wi-fi was available was in the "living room" at the entrance to our hotel, there was an ether-net cable in the room. The club in the hotel was nice, a bit small, but if your looking for a place that plays the typical house music you're in for a treat. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Borgata, my room was very affordable, $100.00 per night, although it said it came with no view I was fine with the view we had, just not an ocean view. Compared to the Hilton where I usually stay in AC I much prefer the Borgata and will be booking my upcoming AC trips there.

The girlfriend and I went to AC for a surprise birthday party for my best friend. The party was on a Saturday night and our group was staying at the Borgata. The Borgata (and its sister property the Water Club) are impressive structures that would fit right in on the Vegas Strip. Since we drove, we took advantage of the on-premises, the multi-story parking structure attached to the Borgata. Much to my surprise, parking in the garage isn't free. I'm not sure if it's an hourly, daily, or a rate based on some other arcane formula, but it amounted to $5 for our less than 24 hour stay. While not cost prohibitive, it seemed unnecessary and a bit greedy to me.
Once inside, the common areas of the Borgata, from its vast gaming floor with the complete range of table games, slots and video poker machines of all denominations, segregated smoking and non-smoking areas, shopping, very good fine dining options, and free wi-fi, all looked first-rate and comparable to anything you'd experience in Vegas. Service at the check-in counter was friendly, informative, and a snap. The entrance to the elevators to the guest rooms was manned by security personnel that checked people for their key cards before granting entry. Strangely, the doors to the elevators appeared chintzy with a faux "wood panel" which really just looked like an adhesive sticker was slapped on the metal surface. Our room, the standard "Classic" room, was clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was well-lit, modern-looking, with a separate shower and tub. The king-sized bed was comfortable with a firm mattress. However, all of the goodwill earned by the room's positives was ruined by the awful pillows on the bed which were thin, foam-filled, and about as comfortable as the pillow you'd find on an airplane. They simply were inadequate. Also, like others have noted, the Borgata's Classic rooms have circa-1990's TVs, not flat-panels, and definitely not high-def. While we spent very little time in the room, if you're charging over $225 per night on the weekend for your basic room, you'd like to think that you're getting something for that premium price.
While it's certainly not a bad place to stay and play, there are definite facets of the Borgata that give off the unavoidable impression that it has a lot of flash, but is lacking in substance especially when you scratch beneath the surface. Overall, the Borgata still likely offers the best all-around experience you'll find in AC. -

So nice. So nice. We stayed here for a friend's birthday - and by we, I mean that they had the 4-person room, and I stayed on the comfy couch with blankets and pillows. The suite was huuuuge. And the first thing they said when I arrived was "seriously, check out the bathroom." Oh, that was nice. It think it literally sparkled.
I wish I had gotten to AC earlier so I could've taken advantage of lounging in the spa area - sure, you can pay for a massage ... or you can just grab a book and enjoy! The spa area was beautiful, and was well lit and decorated enough that I would enjoy staying there in January or July. -

The food is amazing and so is the night life. The rooms are OK. The bathrooms are my favorite part, they are just so spacious and the showers have great pressure and a bench for you to sit and just enjoy. The views that I have gotten have just been over looking Atlantic City. It is on the other side of Atlantic City so their are no ocean views, just the Marina. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows which is really beautiful.
I normally get my rooms comped because I gamble often which is always a nice perk. -
Review from Cheryl L.
This review is only for the rooms in Borgata, and not the casino!! The casino and restaurants on the first floor were great!! But the hotel rooms were a bit disappointing!!
I couldn't really believe this was a 5-star hotel room. Asides from the amazing bathroom, there was no other sign that I was in a room that cost $400 per night during Labor Day weekend.
The TV was old, non-flat-screen (I don't even know what those old TV's are called... the ones that are shaped like a box), the mattress was thin, and the pillows felt like someone got a bag of cotton from Walgreens and wrapped a cloth around it.
Then you walk into the bathroom, and it's like a 5-star hotel room again, so you basically transition back and forth between a 3-star Hilton and a 5-star Ritz (metaphor!) everytime you have to pee or shower.
But if I had to choose another hotel in AC, I'd still definitely choose Borgata because of its convenience. There's nothing better than knowing that endless rooms of slots and first-class restaurants are about 10 floors below your feet and just an elevator ride away. -
Review from Phil H.
The Borgata used to be the hot new trendy place to stay at and gamble in AC. It was the only game in town that offered the Vegas style experience. After staying here this past week for a night I can say that the novelty of the new toy has dissipated a bit.
Sure, they have a large gaming floor and the tables are always packed, offer great concert events, a newer food court, nice dance clubs, and have some terrific high end restaurants.
Still, the hotel rooms are way overpriced and showing their wear and tear, the staff is still kind of rude and uncaring, and the clubs just charge too much to get in. The rooms are odd, as the bathrooms have a high end polished look, but the bedroom area looks like it could be any old hotel room with an old fashioned big box tv - not even a flat screen. Really? Even the buffet, which use to be one of the best, has slipped substantially. I have also noticed a change in the overall class of the patronage here.
As with all casinos in AC they still charge for internet access in your room. When are the AC casinos gonna get with the program and stop nickel and diming on stuff like this?
Still, the Borgata offers an energetic gambling experience on their casino floor, and is a great place to catch a concert. -

A recent stay at the Borgata can be summed up in the following few words:
"looks can be deceiving"
I receive comp rooms from the large casinos and have stayed at most of them. I decided to stay at the BORG because of its posh appearance and because I have never stayed there. Check in was close to 30 minutes, i couldn't barely understand the receptionist I think she was still speaking Philippino. The room was average, not what i had expected. This is the best part, around 8 am the cleaning staff decides to start yelling and having loud conversations about babies daddies and baby momma drama- OUTSIDE OUR ROOM! Loud and obnoxious!! I called the lobby and complained and they went away.
The restaurants and spa were amazing! I will yelp that separately.
Think twice before staying here. -

Maybe we got stuck on a crappy floor but our room was so small (bathroom was big though) and looked run down. Hard, uncomfortable beds. Can't even compare to some of the nice hotels you get for much less in Vegas.
The casino itself is so spread out that you have to walk forever through smoke to get to what restaurant you want to go to. Of course it is planned out this way so you keep gambling your money away.
The pool is pretty awesome, but the whole interior smells too strongly of chlorine, the pool is only a few feet deep and even on a Monday during school year was taken over by kids.
The fitness center- they make you pay. Sorry, I paid enough for the room and don't love working out that much.
As for the food -- Meh. Years ago their hibachi place in the basement level was the best. Now it is greasy and terrible. Wolfgang Puck's - only really good thing there was the polenta.
The gelato store- okay but much too sweet. Best thing I found there was their huge reese peanut butter cup/pie. Delicious.
So back to the hotel... I didn't know this at the time I booked it, but the REALLY nice hotel is the WaterClub. I WISH I had known about this before.. I checked it out. Rooms are SO much nicer, everything is so much nicer...and if you want to see the coolest view you've ever seen from a Spa, go up to their 32nd Spa level-- Incredible.
Their new WaterClub makes me want to go back to AC, but certainly never again the Borgata. -

Review for the Event Center.
I saw deadmau5 here mid-September. Let me just say, the space is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. We were all way psyched and still on a high from Electric Zoo when we came here for my friend's birthday. Line moved quick, ticket and ID scan was quick too. We strategically hid all of our glowsticks in our pants and (my) bra, but they didn't even confiscate! Usually security will confiscate due to them being "chuck-able".
Excision was the opener, and wow. HE KILLED IT. It was fun to see the mash up of people there...from the hard core kandi flippers, to the casual poptarts who like deadmau5 because of "Ghosts n Stuff". So many mau5 heads, homemade AND store bought! And light up ears. That's one thing about EDM events...so much LOVE.
When deadmau5 came on, everyone went a p e s h i t. He played the classics (The Reward is Cheese, Move for Me, Ghosts n Stuff) and the newer stuff (Maor Ghosts n Stuff, One Trick Pony)...and when he dropped Sophie Needs a Ladder...SOPHIE CAME OUT. I almost died of happiness. What a fabulous surprise! Sophie HERSELF. And that girl killed it.
I didn't drink anything, but there were three bars inside, and when my friends went to get drinks, they were back quickly. Again, so huge and well ventilated. It wasn't sweaty gross and I had so much room to absolutely go berserk dancing. Love the space, I hope I get to see another show here. Ferry or EDX would be nice--you listening Borgata? -

This a review for the casino -
Despite some random creepers inviting me back to their hotel room, and the casino winning my monayz, I will admit that I had a good time here. The crowd is young to middle-aged, and the bets aren't for millionaires. The place is clean and isn't run down. Drinks are pretty good (and pretty strong...)
Still not sure about the clubs here though. -

The best of the best in Atlantic City.
The Borgata is by far the poshest casino in AC. It's the closet resemblance of Vegas glam. Went here on a Monday night and it was pretty crowded. The place had a good vibe to it. The crowd was a good mix of the young & sexy and the older folks. Plus, the people look happy to be there instead of being miserable and depress looking.
Nice, sleek, and modern decor. Big chandeliers and all the trimmings. A nice lounge for guest to get away from the action and chill but you can see all the action through the glass wall. A big contrast to the dreary, cigarette stained, and dated 80's look of the boardwalk casinos. You actually want to hang out here.
Timely drink service with actual good looking cocktail servers. Everyone was polite and friendly here.
Because we had a good run on their craps table, this place is tops in our book. Full disclosure, we didn't stay here or eat at several of their restaurants.
But next time we're in town, we're going to stay at the Borgata and you should do. -
Review from Louis P.
Still going strong as the best of Atlantic City, i still haven't tired of this place after my umpteenth visit!
I know the analogy is old and tired but it's still a Vegas-worthy property and you know you have a great place when you have a ton of great things to do during your stay and don't have to leave the premesis.
The spa is high-end, the buffet is classic, the poker room is the best in all of AC and to top it all off for us slot machine fiends....they have digital Wheel of Fortune slots in 3D!! I was in heaven with these amazing machines...
I can go here with friends and hit up Mixx for a great club night or i can spend a relaxing spa weekend with my wife and eat dinner at any of the 10,000 restaurants the Borgata has to offer.
My favorite spots are the casual ones; the Metropolitan is open all night andf has a great overall menu that's affordable enough, or you can hit up the cafeteria downstairs for quick food like Panda Express and Fatburger.
If you are a gambler, you need to make good use of your comps! They are now giving them a bit easier than in recent years and because all this stuff is pretty pricey you can really get some great deals if you spend enough money at a machine/table.
The Fiore Suite is amazing and the best place room to get if you have the money, otherwise a standard room will be just fine. They don't have flat screens like the Borgata's new companion hotel The Water Club, but for me it doesn't matter because i just use my room to sleep! The standard room is still nice with an extremely comfortable bed.
Bottom line: The Borgata is still tops in Atlantic City, it's pricey but gives you an experience and occupies your time like no other hotel/casino in AC. -

I have never stayed at another hotel in Atlantic City and I wouldn't want to after staying at the Borgata several times over the last couple of years. Once you check into the hotel, you don't even need to leave because there is so much to do. There are countless restaurants, slot machines galore, clubs and bars, shopping boutiques, roulette wheels, poker tables, horse betting and so many other types of gambling that I didn't even know existed. I am not a huge gambler, so I stick to the slot machines and slowly lose $20 on a penny machine. On my last visit, I saw a woman win $10,000 on the penny machine. Why couldn't that have been me?!
Our last trip at the Borgata was a family gathering and we had 5 rooms for our group of nineteen. We started with dinner at the Water Club in our reserved banquet hall room. The service was incredible and so attentive. The food was phenomenal. We had a neverending supply of NY strip steak, chicken breasts with spinach, the biggest shrimp I've ever seen, the most mouthwatering polenta, fresh buffalo moz and tomatoes, at least seven different types of bread and a great selection of appetizers and desserts.
Anyway, back to the Borgata...after our dinner we headed to the slot machines and then back up to our rooms. My cousins and I changed out of our more formal wear into our outfits for the club. We ended up going to mur.mur ($20 cover for the ladies!) and after dancing for awhile we left and headed to N.O.W. (open til 5 am on Saturday nights) for some amazing kim chi fried rice and pad thai. We got back to our rooms after 3 and then somehow managed to wake up and meet our family for breakfast at the Metropolitan at 8:30 am. I recommend the ham and cheese omelet. Actually, any omelet would do, they are the thickest I have ever seen.
We headed back to our room after breakfast to sleep in our comfy beds for another couple of hours and then pack and check out. This was my third stay at the Borgata and I can't wait to go back!Listed in: Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Obviously this is one of the better casinos/hotels in AC, but at $400+ a night one would expect perfection. Sure, my room was of a good size, with a nice comfortable king size bed, a desk, a big bathroom, clean sheets, and plenty of towels... But must the housekeeping knock on my door around 10am when I have the "privacy" thing on??? The check out is at twelve, and they did the same thing to my brother, too! Nothing is more contrary to hospitality than waking somebody up early. Especially after they've been spending money on liquor at your very place of business the night before and are trying to sleep off the after effects. I bet most people would rather have a smaller room/bed, but more hours of sleep (and would probably save money in the processs)...
Oh, and I didn't spend much time in my room, so I don't really care about the in room entertainment, bu a CRT which offers the "hottest" N64 games? Really??? -

The best hotel/casino in all of AC. I've stayed and played at all the Boardwalk casino hotels but this is by far the best.
If you're reading and writing reviews on Yelp, most likely you're in the same demographic that would appreciate Borgata.
The ambiance, people, physical hotel room, dealers are just all way better.
Club Mixx- awesome. I think my internal organs were throbbing to every beat because the music was so loud. The music was a throwback to jams I enjoy. Got down and had a great time.
We played in the hotel's indoor pool and that was fun as well.
Only downside is the buffet which was hugely disappointing.
My 4 star rating is based on what I know about AC locations only. We can't factor in Vegas, for example, as then the rating would be closer to 3.
Great escape from NYC especially if you're with the right group of friends. -

In vegas this would probably just be an average hotel, but it's the best AC has to offer. Rooms are nicely appointed and modern. The pool at the Water Club is decent, again just don't expect it to be anything like a vegas pool scene. You'll definitely get your fair share of sketchy looking characters walking around the hotel, but just significantly less than other places in AC. One piece of advice when going to AC, stay indoors as much as you can. You'll know why I say that if you ever visit.

The hotel is still a classy-looking place, but shoddy housekeeping/maintenance makes it tough to justify $500/night.
You don't find stained bath towels in a 5-star hotel (one had a large and disgusting stain). You don't find tissue dispensers with one tissue in them. You don't find showers that promise precise settings but deliver blazing-hot water on all of them. And you don't hear housekeepers outside your room having a LOUD conversation at 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning ABOUT THEIR LINEN CARTS.
Although some employees seem permanently pissed off, like the lady who barks at you in the buffet line for no particular reason, restaurant staffers are pleasant and professional. The casino's dealers are also mostly top-notch, and the casino itself is great (although quite smoky). The restaurants are overpriced, but all quite good and varied.
If you're charging a Vegas-worthy room rate, price-gouging on little things ($2 for a half-bottle of vending-machine water, $16 for mascara in a shop) is inexcusable and makes me feel like a patsy. I used to describe this place as the East Coast Bellagio, but now I'm thinking of heading to Las Vegas again, to stay at the real thing.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Several years of coming here and I'm just now getting to a review. Amazing.
So, what can I say about this place? It's the closest thing you'll get to a Vegas style experience in Atlantic City. While they've improved the area quite a bit from what I remember in 2003, it still has some parts that leave you wanting.
All of the table games that you can imagine exist here - even down to the original game of pai gow tiles that I've come to enjoy. The noodles bar is also a favorite - a great respite from the minutia that comes with a long run in the poker room.
If you're in the DC area, I highly recommend you stay off of Hwy 40 in NJ and just go up the turnpike two exists to cross over to the AC expressway. The police have tons of speed traps set up and are more than happy to ticket you - particularly those in Hamilton township. -

I came here for work and didn't get to enjoy it much but my room was very nice. I managed to get a room on the 43rd floor (highest) which was great. The room was very clean and the bathroom was really nice. It had a stand in shower (with a seating area) and a separate room inside the bathroom for a toilet (didn't quite understand that one). The towels were amazingly big and soft which was great. The only thing that kind of seemed out of place was the chair. I've been to other hotels where they had better ergonomic chairs. Otherwise, it was great.

There are some pretty harsh reviews for the Borgata I'm quite suprised by this. Of course there are certain things that are nice in some of the other hotels (Trop has an IMAX theater and a Blue Mercury, Taj has the original poker room and Il Mulino, Harrah's has the beautiful pool, etc). But for the total package there is no comparison. This casino is as close to a Vegas-style casino you will get. The spa is great - really beautiful amenities.
The regular rooms are above average by any standard - always clean, beautiful amenities in the bathroom. The glass stall showers and white marble make for a very clean modern look.
Lots of restaurant options, both high end and budget. Great poker room. Free wi-fi in most common areas, including the poker room.
I wish there were less places to smoke, but you're not going to see the pathetic elderly person with a cigarette in one hand and oxygen tank in the other. -

The Borgata changed my experience of Atlantic City from sleazy, cheesy to upscale, fun. A young, modern casino with great bars, restaurants and shoppes. Of course, the shopping is limited to a handful of stores, with boutique prices, but since I don't gamble I enjoy them nonetheless. The rooms are modern and spacious and the staff has been accommodating in all of my experiences. Also, the Starbucks is a big plus.

I stayed at the Borgata last Thursday night and was only there for one night due to Hurricane Irene. The check in process was fast and easy. I stayed on the 11th floor and I was immediately smitten by the glass enclosed shower. I am a sucker for a nice bathroom. I loved the option of being able to control the temperature of the shower. I also like having the commode separate from the shower that way your spouse/sidekick can handle their business while you are both getting ready.
I am disappointed with the comfort of the bed. It was hard and the sheets did not fit the bed. This surprised me since I was at such a high end hotel. The room itself was average. I expected a flat screen TV, but it was the old school bubble front. Maybe I should have chosen a room on the higher floors.
I dined at the buffet for dinner and it was good. I am not a buffet person, but I have eaten here before and enjoyed it. The Italian sausages were delicious. I also tried the dessert section and I have fallen in love with their pecan mini tarts and the miniature mousse desserts. I tried to contain myself, but I had too many. I was giggling again because it was so good. The next morning I went back to the buffet for breakfast and I had the corn beef hash with potatoes, bacon and sausage. I was looking for grits but didn't see them. ( that's the southerner coming out). The breakfast was good. This will be the only buffet I will eat at. I like this place. The service is good and the place is clean.
The Borgata was definitely bustling with people. It didn't seem overcrowded. Though you had your share of gamblers.
The other issue I had was due to the storm. I kept checking with the front desk to see if we needed to evacuate and they kept insisting that everything was fine. We decided to head to the spa and schedule massages and that's when we heard two employees saying that the hotel was going to ask everyone to leave by 6pm. We spoke with the employee and asked more questions and then I called the front desk for confirmation and that's when we were told we should head out. I was a little irritated as I felt they should have been more proactive with the guests. Overall, it was a good experience. -

Came to the Borgata for a comedy show (Daniel Tosh!!), stayed to eat and gamble a bit. It was fun, but I'm not much for gambling so played a few slot machines and called it a day.
Saw hookers in the bathroom applying weave and fake eyelashes. Pretty funny. Was even funnier when my friend dared me to say good bye to them as we were leaving the bathroom and I shouted "BYE HOOKERS!!" and ran out the door.
I blame the free drinks. -

1-star for the hotel rooms in the original Borgata only.
This is by all accounts the second most expensive standard room in AC - water club being the first.
It is unacceptable to be so lackluster. Old CRT tvs and CD-players in lieu of ipod docks... come on! Very cheap furniture... couldn't believe it.
Trump Plaza has nicer rooms... and that's just sad! -

(CASINO ONLY, NOT HOTEL)
After visiting the other 10 casinos in Atlantic City, this was the last one on the list.
-It was BY FAR the biggest with the most tables. If you want Vegas casino, you get it here.
-Elegant and very impressive but not over-the-top expensive.
-The table minimums varied, unlike all the other casinos that had every table on the same minimum.
-The slots were priced all over the place, which is a big plus if you like daring at a $5 machine, lose, then going to a penny slot to play for a bit longer.
-The restaurant choices fit every price range so don't worry about losing all the money you wanted to spend on that Bobby Flay steak.Listed in: Atlantic City
