I love this place, especially RAID (Random Acts of Irrelevant Dance) were our dancers (BTW, I Love, love, love all of them), DJ Adrian, my lovely photographers from scene snaps. This past weekend was no exception to the craziness that happens monthly on the first Saturday of the month. My first experience was from Prom last May (the first one! woo.)
Mashups!
Five dollars cover before 10 p.m or a reasonable $10 afterwards!
9 dollars for valet or street parking for free!
Street food afterwards!
Pizza!
Do I need to keep going on with what BootieLA is, besides get your Bootie to BootieLA at the Echoplex! -

Love Bootie LA! If you like diverse crowds (ethnicity, age, sexual preference) and down to earth fun people, this is the place to be. People come here to dance, hear the great mashups that you won't hear anywhere else, and see the wild dancers on stage.
Drinks and entrance are reasonable too and you can download mashups from their website for free.
If you think your sh** don't stink then don't come here, hollywood show offs can stay in hollywood. -

I went to Bootie LA for the first time back in July 2011 and then returned recently to celebrate New Years Eve.
This place attracts a fun crowd. And if you know the location, it's easy to figure out why... No one ends up there on accident! :) You gotta want to attend Bootie LA.
Good music, decent sized dance floor (at it's current Echoplex location), non-pretentious crowd, and high energy dancing. -

I am not a "Club Kid"
I don't go out to places to pay covers and meet women. I don't dance that often.
However, I make an exception to Bootie LA. Ever since I was around 19 and heard DJ. Paul V spinning mash ups on the Smash mix (RIP INDIE) I have wanted to go to Bootie LA. When I turned 21 one of the FIRST things I did was go here with a friend of mine. Mash up night is pure unadulterated fun! One of the biggest complaints I have against Rock music is that you CANNOT dance to it! try it! You look like someone having a seizure or stroke or some other medical condition. Here the tones of your favorite songs get mixed together in some sort of crazy song cocktail which can make you laugh, cry, or if you drink enough, do both at the same time. It's a shame it is only the first Saturday of every month, because i would go weekly. I think that's why Paul V avoids me at all possible (sorry about the thing in march)
If you are a fan of music check this out at least once. -

I haven't written a review in ages and I didn't actually attend Bootie LA so I don't want to eff with its rating, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows that there can be a huge line! We yelped the place before going and no one mentioned it got ass-to-wall packed, so we got there around midnight thinking it would be ok. No. Way. Jose. The line was around the block. Sad face.

Went there last night and what a fun night it was! The DJ's are amazing...the music kept me on my feet all night long. They were spining and mashing 80's hits, was awesome.
The best thing is that the crowd is super chill...no pretentious Hollywood club crowd or super creepy guys who try to hit on you. Most the people here came to dance and I loved that!
Come early and you get a free cd of the music. Its $5 per person before 10 pm. Street parking is readily available. It gets pretty hot inside and they do have a patio area but since I don't smoke, it wasn't an option as it was packed with the smoking crowd.
They have a fun show towards midnight. Last night I saw a mummy, a pregnant woman pretending to give birth to Salt n Pepa's push it, a blond tall guy with a mustache dressed in drag, a fat dude moving like he was on fire!! They also had a live band playing amazing music for some time.
Loved the music, the vibe and the atmosphere. I will definitely be back....It was AWESOME!! -

Yeah! Party! Dance it out! Woo!
It was my good friend's birthday and after happy hour we ventured out to this side of town. There wasn't a line, which was surprising, but welcomed as we danced in, and then back out. Although one can smell the reeking scents of dancers working out their problems through the walls, it's a nice hangout. For non-dancers like myself there were plenty of cushioned seats to lounge on, with my plastic cup drink in hand. Bootie LA is nice because you don't have to dress up. Also, there was a nice holiday show on stage that kept us entertained. What else can you ask for looking for a good time in LA?! -

I have not been to many clubs before, but I am a frequent club go-er. I think out of all the clubs Ive been to, Echoplex and Exchange LA are rated the best out of my list.
Echoplex has a nice and chill environment. People there are just themselves, and really down to earth. Also, they arent afraid of being creative with their outfits, and they arent those snobby people who just go there to 'dress to impress'. I understand that going to a club, half of the game is to impress, but these people have the creative side and the 'look good' side on lock. Everyone is also very fun to dance with.. and they are just free! I really like that type of environment, where people arent judging one another. I really recommend this club for people who want to test out the waters of clubbing...! It's just a place to have fun at! The music mix is also pretty good. last time they had a BUNCH of oldies, which I LOVE (Earth wind and fire, MJ, etc etc).
Drinks are also relatively cheap. Not like those super high end clubs. Ive only been here once, but I really liked it. i am looking forward to their event they are holding 9.3.11. -

I have to say, I've never been to a club with such inventive and creative gogo dancers. I saw:
1. a mummy
2. a shirtless fat guy
3. an extremely tall guy dressed in cheer drag
*bonus* for RAID dance crew performances!!
Bootie is extremely entertaining and like other reviewers have said it's an EXCELLENT place to dance and party WITHOUT the pretentiousness of Hollywood crowds. The music is AWESOME. Better than most clubs in LA/Hollywood that I've been to. I've been TO my share of clubs in Los Angeles and Hollywood. I love the fact that you get to hear these dj's, most of them were women the night we went (Anniversary Party), spinning and mashing 80's songs with pop hits. LOVED IT.
Had a great time.
I definitely OVERDRESSED. Wish I would have read the YELP reviews BEFORE I went. Wore heels and regretted it very soon after arriving. It's definitely a t-shirt and jeans/shorts type of scene.
Parking is a piece of pie and entrance is as well.
Crowd is FANTASTIC and FUN!!!! -

Ladies and Gentlemen, I made it. Review #200. Phew.
It's no secret that I tend to enjoy a few things more than anything in the world: going out, a good dance party, fun music, people I love.
Bootie LA is all that rolled into one.
Other Yelpers have done a pretty good job at explaining details and the awesome that is Bootie LA, but if you are lazy, here it is in a nutshell: it's a non-pretentious dance party, with mashups, an affordable bar, and a great time if you bring a good group of friends.
The venue is at the Echoplex, and the cover is $5 before 10pm. The DJ's are awesome and are always open to playing different mashups if you request them in time.
You get a pretty cool crowd. A little more hip, artsy I suppose. Less pretentious than your usual hollywood crowd. You don't need to come all dressed up. Jeans and a t-shirt is fine. Wear comfortable shoes, and light clothing. Take a cab.
I had my 30th bday here. It was called Save The Dave. Several months prior, I sent out an e-mail with an email for a "Save The Date", but I made a typo....and my friend Rebecca suggested I make that the name of my party.
In any case, at midnight, I got a killer birthday shoutout, with confetti. This was also the last thing I remember from that night. Black out. Holler. What can I say? I turned 30 in style.
Oh yeah...don't lose your cell phone here. You'll never find it again. Part of the blackout thing I guess.Listed in: 50 Stars, The Places I Go Out, LA's Best of the Best, Dance Party

Someone once said my booty-shorts career was over. There I was, down & out surfing the web at 1 am when I stumbled across this flier online and it said BOOTY L.A.! It was a sign, a test to see if I can still rock them booty shorts.
I went with the homies one night, cover was cheap & so were the drinks. I was digging the tracks the dj was spinning. Definitely mashups with that electro feel. I love that the crowd is not stuck up like those types you come across at a trendy Hollywood club. Every one is mad chill here. I can't wait to go again. Oh! and there's a lady selling bacon wrapped hot dogs out side. You better cop one on your way out.

Free mashup CD for the first 100.
Street parking isn't hard to find, you can valet if you're feeling fancy and/or lazy.
No dress code, non-pretentious crowd.
And a dancer in a pink astronaut suit.

So I've been wanting to check out B-LA for a while and finally came here a few weeks ago. It was fun! As already mentioned, it's a place where people just like to dance. There's a mix of folks in the crowd but it's mostly early 20s - early 30s. I did see some older ladies, probably 40-ish who looked really good for their age and were with some young guys - rock on. Some girls were dressed up like they were going out to a Hollywood club which seems a bit overdone for Echo Park, but whatever, that's what makes it a free for all I suppose. I was in my jeans and sneaks.
There are some wonderfully amateur and entertaining dancers on stage, of various shapes and sizes, doing very random things. So if you're all snotty about your dancers, you shouldn't look. The mashups are fun, but sometimes I kinda got tired of the mashup and just wanted me some straight-up Depeche but oh well, it's a mashup party. The dance floor is dark-ish but it's a spacious venue and you can also dance near the tables in other parts of the place besides the dance floor, as people were doing. Oh, but the best part by far, was the free Pirate Booty they were handing out. I took a couple bags home with me, and they came in handy the other day when I was hungry for some snacks and had eaten all my jalapeno Cheetos.
It's a nice place to hang if you want a low-key, dance-able Saturday night full of Pirate's Booty. Arrrrgh. -

I'm SUCH a fan of Bootie.
The dj's are amazing, the music is amazing- I've gone out vowing to leave by a certain time and had to force myself to leave at 2am. THAT is how good it is. The crowd is always pretty decent and friendly- because of Bootie, I've gone nearly 2 years without having a weird creeper try to get on me. THANK YOU for being so cool, my fellow Bootie lovers. And can I also say, BRAVO to the dancers- I think I have a crush on you. I want to BE one of you.
The absolute only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that it can be a little hit or miss- with music (depending on the dj), the staff is sometimes less than cool, and it's not the place you go if you want something upscale or trendy or want to be able to have a conversation. But if you want to dance your ass off and worry about absolutely nothing else, this is the place. -

This place is unique to say the least. I came for BootieLA Prom and my b-day gathering. Didn't know exactly what to expect.
The venue itself is pretty spacious and the crowd is very diverse. Also the free photo area was great.
The music was creatively mashed but I think they didn't have their normal DJ because many songs repeated. Their special performance was interesting.
In the end everything was okay. Maybe my expectation was too high because I thought it'd be crazier. Maybe it was the night.... ::shrug::
All and all would i come again? You bet.... it's always nice to change it up once in a while. But would I yearn to come? Maybe not. -
Review from Sherry W.
I went this past weekend with a group of friends and had an amazing time. It's such a refreshing change from the usual clubbing experience in Hollywood to just go out and dance without any inhibitions with a great group of friends.
The venue is spacious and has a bit of a grungy feel, it's very dark -slightly reminds me of an underground concert. The bar serves inexpensive alcohol in plastic/red cups. There's also a help-yourself water station which was super nice.
The music is the main focus of the event. Even if you don't have a single dancing bone in your body, it's hard to resist the urge to move with the music. There was a great mix of 80's, current pop, rock, etc. I went on a rihanna mashup night (I'm not even that big of a fan of rihanna) and still felt like each song was super refreshing from the one before.
The dancers on the stage are super entertaining. Each costume change/character gets better and better throughout the night. One of the dancers was an overweight sweaty guy in gold spandex and pasties. We were close to the stage and he came down and starting straddling one of my friends while we were dancing -it was hilarious.
DO dress comfortably, because you will be constantly moving and sweating! Plus, it gets ridiculously hot, but there is an outside portion to cool down and smoke.Listed in: Dancing! in LA

Went tonight on the recommendation of friends. It was really great! If u want great music without a line at the door or staff with attitudes this is the place for you.
Usually you have to trade good music for the non-snotty - often emptyish - locale. But not here. The crowd was diverse in age, shape, and, to a degree, sexuality. Someone commented on the lack of gays in a previous review. I saw a fair amount of gays dancing together. Some with their gal pals so maybe things have changed since the last review. But, it's definetely not 50/50 or anything like that. Seemed like lots of couples and pairs of women and mixed groups and some gays.
We valeted it for $8. Bottled water was $3. They have free ice water on the bar but it was empty around 11:30 and didn't look like it was going to be filled up again soon.
Previous reviewers are spot on about the welcoming nonjudgemental staff from the guy checking ids to the cashier to the bartenders - everyone was really nice. Genuinely nice! Not "LA nice" - but a real "I respect my fellow human being" nice. It was refreshing. People on the dance floor were generally pretty decent.
The best mashup was the song White Lines with sound bites from Charlie Sheen's recent interviews. Hilarious! -

I came to bootie LA for April!!! I missed last month's Bootie, but it's okay. I got my groove on for April. The resident DJ...Adrian and Mysterious D!! They are absolutely my most favorite...they combine such great music, and really know how to get the crowd going. I absolutely love them. This particular night they brought out a group of gold dancers again! Always fun to watch them perform. And there were two guest DJs from Germany who totally rocked! Perhaps they DJ at Bootie Munich or Bootie Heidelberg.
I don't really come here to meet people...I mostly come here to DANCE! and have a little drink here and there. I seriously take it as my major workout for the month! If your a shy dancer...or you just suck...it really doesn't matter...everyone here has their own style, everyone is just having fun.
Drink specials:
- Cranberry and vodka = $3, but it's mostly cranberry...little on the vodka
- Tecate Beer = $2
I can't make it on May 2nd for the next Bootie LA...but I will definitely try to catch the June one...it's the first Saturday of each month! Oh and a friend just had their 3 year anniversary of meeting each other at Bootie too...it was so cute. They try to make it every month! Hard core.Listed in: Where the party at, yo??

Last month's Bootie LA ended with me topless and wearing a necktie. Not sure where my shirt went. Not sure where the necktie came from. But I was sure of one thing -- this was the best dance party in town.
A beautiful monthly tornado of performance art and soul-shaking sound, Bootie LA delivers on every front. Cheap drinks, pretty people, and a dance floor the size of a roller rink make for a night you'll never forget.
Bootie's music is really what sets this party apart from anything you've ever attended. The mashups are so tightly mixed that you find yourself stopping in the middle of a serious dance sesh to appreciate the sheer wonderment of what's coming out of the speakers.
With the photographers from http://www.drunkrocker... on the scene to capture every minute of the night, you'll quickly find yourself hunting down pix of your crew and sending them to those who missed out.
Be sure to come check out the Bootie Holiday Party on December 5th at the Echoplex in Echopark. http://bootiela.com for more info!Listed in: Bring The Gang

Tired of the pretentious Hollywood crowd?
Want to get your dance on?
Want to do it for cheap?
If you answered yes to all of these, Bootie LA is for you.
First off, this place is not pretentious at all. No waiting in line. Girls, no need to get all slutty up to get in. Hell, you can probably leave the house with what you are wearing right now and fit in. People wore jeans, sneakers, tank tops. Sure, some people were a little dressier, but it doesn't matter. Bootie LA has a very diverse crowd. It's not about getting seen there, it's about having a good time. Bootie LA delivers on that.
You will dance or at least be compelled to. Awesome smash-up's all night long. If you aren't the dancing type, there is a bar to get your drink on.
It's cheap. $5 before 10pm, $10 after 10pm.
Parking: I was able to find street parking in a neighborhood. Kind of a far walk but still ok. It was FREE.
Can't wait for next Saturday! -

I saw a few folks in their fifties. I saw sexy plus-sized girls rocking micro-minis. I saw what I know LA could be if more regular folks come out at night (or at least let me know where they hang.)

I spent my first night ever on the West Coast/California/Los Angeles at Bootie. In the words of Jerri Blank, "Good Times."
I was really impressed with the talented DJs and it was a great space to break it down and reunite with friends I haven't seen in years. The mashups were really awesome. I was really excited to actually hear what happens when you mix "Paper Planes" with "All I wanna do is zoom zoom zoom." I also managed to get a mashup CD souvenir, which I will treasure forever, as well as a free butane lighter that glows green from the good folks at Camel (I don't smoke or use a lighter ever, but I will stump for anyone that doles out free stuff, especially if it glows. Smoke cigarettes with Joe Camel, you guys! He's the coolest!)
At midnight was a vibrant dance performance by R.A.I.D. (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance). They had gold leotards (which I'm told are actually Japanese fetish suits) and blacklight sensitive accessories. So much grandeur. So much glamour. Words cannot describe the beauty.
I'd love to find a spot like this in Boston. Just beware of the occasionally aggressive suitors.Comment from Adrian and Dee R. of Bootie LA 10/13/2009

Club Bootie is the first Mashup Club in the U.S., and got its start in San Francisco, which is where I first found them.
This club is 100% all mashups, all the time, and they attract some of the best DJs in the world, in part because the club's owners, Adrian and Mysterious D, have clubs in Paris, Munich, NYC, SF as well as LA.
This isn't your typical LA club "scene", all are welcome, and there is a nice range of people that defy any stereotypes. Everyone is there to dance and have a good time, and yes, people are actually dancing on the dance floor, imagine that?
They usually have a "live" show at midnight, I won't spoil it for you (and it's different each night), it's just something you have to experience for yourself.
The club takes place at the Echoplex in Echo Park, it's a decent venue with reasonable drinks, but who cares? you go for the music and to dance.
I was there recently for my birthday and got to meet Fred Schneider from the B52's who just happened to be hanging out that night.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of "Mashup" I'll let Club Bootie Explain:
""So what's a mashup? What's a bootleg?
It's pretty much all the same. Also known as "bastard pop," a bootleg is a song that's "mashed-up." Usually, this means the vocal track of one song is mixed over the instrumentation of another. Using audio editing software, DJs and mashup artists combine different artists and musical genres to create new and unique songs that are often greater than the sum of their parts. Imagine Michael Jackson rocking out with Nirvana, Britney Spears singing with Daft Punk, Cher fronting AC/DC, or Ludacris rapping with Depeche Mode. Can't imagine that? Then get your ass to Bootie to hear for yourself! "" -

Pretty nice dance club. Went to the smash up to dance with my girlfriend. I had a blast at first, when we first got there, it was pretty empty. But later on it just got packed with people, music was good, but got a little bad towards the time when we were leaving, they should let you reenter. Even if you have to wait in line. It was in a smelly part of echo park. Overall though I had fun, dancing which it's all about.

So picture a high-school gym, but a little dingier, with darker walls. Now throw in two bars, and a stage filled with gold spandex bodysuit-ed dancers -- that boogied like mad the whole time -- like seriously, the WHOLE TIME! Can you even believe that?!?
But on to the two bars -- well stocked, reasonably priced, but way, way under staffed! It took forever to get drinks each time -- and by the time I got to be my turn, a Lady Gaga mash-up would come on and you know what that means... so basically, half the night spent trying to get to first in line, and the other half rushing off to dance to LADY GAGA!!!

Man, I love me some Bootie! I went a couple of weekends ago for this month's club night (they only have it the first Saturday of every month), and I have to say, I loved that it was just the three resident DJ's spinning the whole night! I got on the Bootie bandwagon fairly early on, since first hearing Paul V's Friday mash-up show on Indie 103.1 (I don't even think it's on anymore), so I've gone enough to have experienced some off nights (far outweighed by the many great nights I've had here, though). But this month, the DJ's BROUGHT IT! The music was awesome, and my friends and I had the best time dancing our butts off.
Bootie also recently moved back to the Echo, but they are now in the renovated downstairs space, which works out really well. There's an ample dance floor, outside smoking patio (spacious enough to share with non-smokers who just need some fresh air), and more seating than most clubs if you just need to give your dancin' feet a break. The bartenders are also pretty quick and friendly and drinks are reasonably priced. If you can get your act together and get there before 10pm, you get the bargain $5 cover, but still only pay $10 if you show up past 10 (totally worth it).
And I have to agree with the Yelper who said that everyone that goes to Bootie is there to dance and just have a good time. You can totally come as you are and not worry about anyone judging you (I'm looking at you, snooty Hollywood bouncers). Great vibe all around and by far, my favorite dancing spot in LA. -

Bootie LA is MUST MUST event for all of you looking for something a little different. Unlike most pretentious Hollywood/West Hollywood clubs, Bootie feels very welcoming for ALL kinds of people and all of the staff there are super friendly. This place is huge too so if it gets too crowded on the dance floor (and it gets super duper crowded) then you can lounge in the back somewhere. The only major issue are the bars. The lines get long and unruly and I wish they would have a few more bartenders at each station.
Oh, and there is a little live entertainment at a certain point, when a bunch of people (of all shapes and sizes) jump around in gold spandex. Aren't you even more curious abt now!? -

Went to Bootie LA for the fist time on my birthday last March - wow, did we have fun! I like all kinds of music and I love to dance so this was a perfect combo! I heard hip-hop, pop, 80's, rap, rock, indie, techno - everything! Great place if you just want to drink, dance, and have a great time! Not much of the booshie Hollyhood crown, which I appreciated. Just cool, laid back, fun people!
If you've never experienced mash-ups before, you gotta check this place out! -
Review from Sara M.
I went to Bootie in San Francisco last fall and had a terrific time - the music and the energy were fantastic, and it got me hooked on mashups. When a visit to LA happened to coincide with Bootie, I knew I had to go!
The vibe at the LA event is really different than SF. It's a much smaller club, and much more relaxed. But the resident DJ was playing some great mashups (including favorites and some entirely new ones I can't wait to download) and they had some crazy gold-suited dancers keeping the crowd entertained.
The special midnight show on May 1st was a pair of French DJs, Loo & Placido, who have made some pretty awesome mashups. But their live show was basically dance club music with loops and samples, not mashups, which was a bit disappointing. Still a great event, and the dance floor was jam-packed with people from about 11PM onward.
Now I have to hit Bootie in some other cities! -

Disclaimer: I am reaaaaallly not into clubs. It's just not my thing. Sure, I like to dance. But I feel that most clubs are full of skeezy douchey guys who are only there to grab a little ass and grind their crotches against as many girls as possible. No thanks. Give me a low-key night at a crappy dive bar any time.
That's why Bootie LA is so great. It's basically like a big dive bar with dancing. You don't get the feeling that everyone's there to find their next hookup.... everyone's there to enjoy the music and to dance their cares away (Fraggle Rock style).
The music is really fun.... mostly mainstream songs mashed together to create whole new songs (who knew Biggie and Miley Cyrus songs could blend so nicely together??) . There are two bars with pretty cheap drinks, and drink specials are offered throughout the night ($2 Tecate? Yaaay!!!). If you get tuckered out from all that dancing, there's a decent amount of seating between the dance floor and the bar to rest your feet.
This monthly mashup party draws a really eclectic crowd from all over Southern California and I've met some great new friends there since my first Bootie experience in January 2009.
I would complain that it's only held once a month, on the first Saturday of every month, since I often end up being busy on that day (and, as a result, haven't been since April 2009).. but really, I think it's better that way. If it were held every weekend, it would run the risk of getting old fast... as it is now, it gives you something to look forward to each month.
The only real down side is that there is a cover charge... and I'm not a fan of cover charges. But it's minimal... $5 before 10pm, $10 after... and in the end, for a fun night with pretty awesome people, it's worth it. -

Best dancing in LA. Least pretentious club. Where else can you find an eclectic mix of people getting down and having fun on the dancefloor?! Seriously, everyone in this club is having fun. F.U.N.
If you arrive early, free mashup CDs, drink specials. There's always a midnight mashup show - and now a resident performance troupe - R.A.I.D. - Random Acts of Irreverent Dance. I've seen Lady Gaga and Le Tigre both perform their mashups live.
If you're looking for a pretentious place to pose your bling - this is not it. If you're looking to shake that bootie to music like you've never heard before - come on down.
Valet parking - although if you get there early, you can probably find metered parking in the lots off Sunset. -

Bootie LA definitely had a diverse crowd with ages ranging from young to old. It was a fun and exciting vibe with catchy music to boot. People wore just about anything from 80's workout attire to shorts and tanks. However there were plenty of people dressed for a typical night out clubbing adding to the diversity.
While its not your typical Hollywood scene I couldn't help but feel like the need to stray away from that "scene" was pushed really hard and people were putting in obvious effort to be different. Which some might say is pretentious in itself.
The cover charge I felt was a bit pricey, especially since my friends and I drove about an hour. The drinks were extremely strong but probably for the soul purpose of breaking the ice.
All in all it was a fun experience, but not sure I would go again. -

GREAT MUSIC...... but not the best vibe due to the clientele.
I would expect a WAY more "gay-friendly" experience from Bootie LA, but every time I go, I always get treated poorly by other people at the club. It's either from annoying, pushy girls who feel they should get special treatment, or from "hipster/scene" guys being too cool to dance or do anything other than stand around in little groups and keep to themselves. I can't even tell you how many times girls have cut in line in front of me at the bar and say things like, "I'm a girl, I'm allowed to cut." (WTF?!)
Again, I absolutely LOVE the music, but the people that go just completely ruin it for me. -

I love Club Bootie. I hate that it is only 1x a month. It took me almost a year to finally be available and in town on the first Saturday of a month. How freakish is that?? Well, we finally made it down there and it was everything I wanted it to be! Spacious, unpretentious, great music, free giveaways (I scored me the Bootie xmas CD and it rocks!!), good drinks, and lots of places to rest my weary bones - if I could ever stop skain' my thang for 2 seconds!!
I missed New Year's but I will aim for that first weekend in February again. Ugh, I think I have to go out of town. Blargh.Comment from Adrian and Dee R. of Bootie LA 1/11/2010

Will be coming back for their next Saturday. This is one of the few venues I have been to where people are there way before 11pm. I got there a little bit passed 10pm and found my contemporaries dancing away. I found the crowd to be friendly though I don't know how single life is like at this club. It was an all age group crowd.
The bathrooms were not crowded, I got my drinks quickly, and found room in the front by the stage to rock out.
I wasn't crazy about all the different DJs but I think that if I were to have brought a big group with me, I would have partied harder.
Decent mash up. I wished there was more transitions between the songs but if the transitions were not off the chain, I would never come back. I also have a new appreciation for a lot of older songs that got a complete face lift from the DJs. Thank you!
The venue didn't have enough strobe lights. Come on, lights are pretty!
Shout out to the crazy girls next to me who were way too drunk and partying way to hard. Thanks for the hugs. To the chick on the stage in full gold spandex: you rock. -

I can't express my love for this event--seriously, it is awesome. Went for the first time during July 4th weekend since it is held on the first Saturday of each month, and I had a great time.
If you love to dance, I mean LOVE to dance, so much that you get all sweaty and tired and don't give a damn if you end up looking like a hot mess--go to BOOTIE! The djs kick some major tukus and the drinks are stiff and reasonable. Get there before 10pm and you get a free cd of music mashups--you will be playing it everyday for the next week after you get it-trust me.
I've renewed my love of nightlife at this event. If you've never been, try it! You don't gotta get all dolled up either, honestly, wear some comfy shoes and tie yer hurr back, this one's a damn good time.
