They have a full range of ski and snowboard gear, as well as rentals. The guys in the snowboard shop were a great help - patiently explaining the difference between all the gear options, making specific recommendations based on my style of riding, custom fitting boots, etc. They have a demo program, where you can try out several boards in one day (all in the same price)- and they'll apply 3 days worth of demo fees to purchase. That's not unusual - but the amount of time they spent with me to make sure everything was set up just right was a welcome change from other attitude-laden shops I've been in.
Prices were of course a bit high on the sticker ... but once I configured a package, and threw in the sunk cost of 2 days of demo, their discount brought the package price to within range of the best prices I found online. -

Not a better shop in Telluride. Hands down. No trip to the Box Canyon would be complete without a stop into Bootdoctors!

Specialties
Telluride's locally owned and operated year-round outdoor sporting goods and guided adventures stores. Skis, snowboards, boots, ice skates and mountain bikes for sale and rent. Full-service master bootfitting, top-of-the-line skis, snowboards, boots, snowshoes, tele, AT and cross country gear.
Custom footbeds for sports have been the "base" of this family-owned business since 1983. Highly customer service focussed, knowledgeable and friendly staff love what they do and it shows!.
Summer guided adventures in the San Juans include Fly Fishing, Rafting, Mountain Bike Tours, Naturalist Hikes.
Four stores in Telluride area offer skiing, snowboarding, Ice skating, hiking, climbing, biking, camping and travel gear.
History
Established in 1986
Founded in Taos Ski Valley, NM, by Bob Gleason, Bob Remiger, Kyle Remiger and Linda Mogetz, the BootDoctors began as premium bootfitters & quickly added ski demos, outdoor clothing & accessories.
In 1997 BootDoctors opened in Telluride, CO Mountain Village center. Summer guided adventures were added to the business including rafting, fly fishing, mountain bike tours & hiking. In 2009 a new BootDoctors Ice Skate Shop & Rink store opened in the Telluride Mountain Village.
In 2010 BootDoctors bought another local favorite store, Paragon, adding a shop on Main St. & on Oak St. by the Telluride gondola.
BootDoctors has won 7 Gold Medals from SKI; the owners are ski & boot testers for SKI & SKIING plus the Rocky Mountain PSIA trainer for stance alignment. They are trainers for MasterFit University & in 2011 were chosen "Best Bootfitters" by SKIING Business. The family operation continues with the addition of two daughters to the management team.
Meet the Business Owner: Bob G.
Bob Gleason and Bob Remiger are the core backbone of this family-owned and operated business.
Gleason's background as Technical Service Manager and Assistant Director of Marketing for Hansen boots, also as Assistant Ski School Director at Lake Eldora combined with his MBA at C.U. to create this ski industry entrepreneur. Remiger brought excellent skills in craftsmanship and computers as well as his own competitive skiing to the mix. The two have pioneered many new techniques and processes in bootfitting.
Gleason is the curriculum Director for Master Fit. He is the Rocky Mountain PSIA Stance Alignment Instructor. Both Gleason and Remiger are boot testers for SKI and SKIING Magazines. Both of the Bobs have had a long and successful history of ski racing, rafting and adventuring around the world.
Bob Gleason's favorite phrase is "Stretch your grin muscles!"
