It's close to work with a decent happy hour, so some folks like to come here. Personally I much rather go to Tannins for HH.
Not that Boosters is bad, it's just doesn't cater to my taste. I do like sports bars, but this place is perhaps too dive-y? If you enjoy the Buffalo Wild WIngs type of sports bar, you probably won't like Boosters as much. The waitresses are, how should I put this, have too much personality? Being friendly is one thing, but sitting down for a chat is not what I'm tipping you for. Some people may love that, and I see people who genuinely have a great time there... Let's just leave it at, it's one of these places that's just not for everyone.Listed in: The $hit List

Star 1 = Its a bar
Star 2 = the have shuffle bored and pool tables.
Star 3 = descent happy hour
- 1 Star = poor selection of beer. This is OC and we want our Craft Beers.
Total = 2 stars.
Nothing amazing about it... good location with a huge patio but it runs too close to a DIVE for me..
The folks working there and running the place are very nice... just not my cup O' tea. -

I went with co-workers and had no expectations whatsoever.
Wow, I was pretty impressed with their pizza! It was really tasty and apparently they house make their sausage. I ate like 5 slices I swear. Beer to wash it down and it was perfect.
The atmosphere is lacking. It's pretty dingy. But their pizza is pretty damn good.

Before I begin... if you are Kristin R. who wrote a review for this joint, then I think I am seriously in love with you.
Let me qualify that statement by saying that I *love* the Red Sox -- LOVE -- and the first time I frequented this establishment I got all kindsa crap for wearing my Papelbon shirt. So yeah, that really is Angel Country for you. Next, I always wondered why I lost a few pounds after coming out of the ladies room, and no, it wasn't because of any load dropping of any kind. I didn't even stop to think that it seriously does rival planet Mercury temperature-wise.
So why did I double my new girlfriend's star review? Because this dumpy, old-school kinda place is just my bag, baby. I do appreciate the local support (tm Ryan K.) of CVHS and other youth athletic organizations, and the beer selection is always updated to reflect the season (first time we had some lighter summer beers, this past weekend we tried the Belgian Christmas ale and everything I've ever drank here has been spectacular), which is nice.
Also the food! Boosters has single-handedly forged a new turkey ortega melt in our household, and the sausages we chose to try were AMAZING! Service is... unique, to say the least, but it definitely marks a lively and down-to-earth personality that I daresay does not get enough credit in this crazy wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am world we're currently stuck in.
Bottom line is that Boosters isn't for everyone, hands down. But you appreciate a great beer, a homely atmosphere (sorry frequent patrons, but I don't go near the game room because I royally SUCK at all those by games), a sweet jukebox, good food, and an occasional snark coming from behind the bar, then I highly recommend Boosters! Oh yes, and I have to admit that I did tack on a bit of extra star-ness because it's a business that offers double points on our family rewards credit card! Sorry, had to throw that in.Listed in: Are You There, Dive Bar?, I need my fix. MAN.

Review from Yelp Y.
New Orleans, LA
Had a chicken caesar wrap and iced tea for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was good at the bar and price was reasonable. Food quality was pretty good and portion size was fitting for lunch. The place was pretty quiet and there are some tvs with football games on.

I don't have much experience with sports bars. This place seemed reasonable so we went to try it. It was okay. They had an excellent pizza with artichoke, feta, and tomato that was good, their Irish Nachos were killer, and they have very good wraps. As far as the ambiance goes it's just sort of ehh..
The Bottom-line: good food, great prices, okay beer, just an eh environment. -

You're an ex Capo Valley HS alumni who has seen and possibly been in this little sports bar before. Nothing really special about this place as far as the big picture is concerned, but what about the little picture. What about the support they give to furthering and improving students educational experiences at nearby CVHS. What about always having an empty seat available when you need it the most? What about having the correct regional beer preferences of today's drinking class? What about having awesome food?...and I do mean awesome. Try their pizza! What about putting these perfect little entertainment pieces in just the right place....and how about just giving a damn!
Sometimes the little guys are the ones who out muscle the bigger competition... -

this is an interesting place....its shaped like a "U". the middle part of the restaurant smells weird though....unfortunately, thats where most of the tables are.
the bartender was really friendly and nice.
got the irish nachos - fries, cheese, bacon and chives. simple but good.
3 pool tables and 2 shuffleboard tables. -

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
We've been here a dozen or so times over the past few years. We've always sat at the table and gotten food - I haven't tried their pool tables, and haven't gone for the whole bar\meat market experience, so my review is strictly for their dining experience.
The atmosphere is indeed lacking a bit, but it IS a sports bar, and the food is surprisingly good! Keep your expectations in line with what the place is - a Sports Grill - and you will be very happy with what you get!
Items to get:
Pickled eggs (yes, that's right!)
Louisiana Cajun "Ham" Burger
Mad Stroganoff Pasta (My favorite)
Meatball Sandwich
Any of the "Mad Mike's" Gourmet Sausage Sandwiches
Any of the the Dog House Hot Dogs
... and of course you should get a mug of beer to wash it all down....
I can't remember eating anything bad there.
TIP: Sit in the back room where the pool tables are. That way you avoid both the bar and nightclub sections, and get to watch the TV. -

This place seemed like a drunk neighbors backyard. Broken dirty lawn chairs; I mean you would have to be already drunk to want to eat here. I got dragged here once after not even knowing it existed, and will never go back. I honestly don't have a positive thing to say after the bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere.

Had a great time. Mad Mike was super cool and opened up the back room so we could play pool even though he was about to close. Took off a star because the pool tables were off balance.

This place is great.
The pool room is never packed, which I love, and the food is surprisingly tasty.
The have a cajun quesadilla which is spectacular, the their bar food like wings, etc are nice and hot, and they give you a lot for your money.
Everything on the menu is under 8 bucks, and the pool is only 10 dollars per hour which is great.
They have some small micro-brewery beers on tap, and they make their own bbq sauce and hot sauces which are all great.
If you're looking for surprisingly good food while you're playing a great game of pool with a buddy without that loser-ish bar feel like most other pool bars, come here. -

This is a decent little sports bar, with a very nice selection of beer. I think the bartender was the owner/operator, and he told and interesting yarn about beer distribution and how Trader Joe's is actually owned by the largest grocery concern in the world.

so are you ready for a rowdy night of burning sausages, library levels of sound, sticky plastic table cloths, and the oldest tv in orange county? then booster's it is....come one come all and have yourself a rockin good time. make sure you keep your cheers to a whisper and bring your appetite for the brat and kraut plate special. oh yeah, the ladies room matches the surface of the sun in temperature....bonus for the smell factor. the only positive i can give this place is the giant mugs of beer.....but you know my standards are skewed due to the fact that the barkeep was anti redsox....go figure in angel country

I LOVE THE FOOD!
actually, I love quite a few things:
-going somewhere where everybody knows your name (cue music) and not because your super rich/ an a-hole/ a complete lush
-sitting out on the patio on warm nights and playing free darts on a real dart board
-playing pool and shuffleboard inside. I learned how to play both games on these tables.
-knowing there's always room to have a good time. I have been here on more birthdays than I can count because I know no matter how many people come that there will be room for us and it won't be too crowded to talk/ mingle with the whole group
-Wednesday nights where if you order a pint of the featured beer you get to keep the glass it comes in. I love collecting interesting pint glasses, especially when you don't have to steal them
-Pub-a-thons. drinking, eating, and playing games all day, even though we're not very good.
-and once again, the food. You must try the chili cheese fries (no onions), the boosters sticks, the cheeseburger pizza (boosters style, not dude style), the Irish nachos, and everything else!
The ladies room IS extremely hot in the winter. Always use the stall closest to the door or you may melt. And unfortunately this is not my favorite place to watch a game, due to the small/ lack of TVs. However, a Sunday morning visit is worth it for the delicious breakfast burrito!
