A good friend told me about this place which is a bit hidden but in an up and coming neighborhood - Sand City. The gentleman that helped me is super knowledgeable about the products they sell and I cannot wait to go back before ski season. I'm used to sports shops carrying the same thing whether big in size or small. They had a whole room dedicated to North Face gear and it was all new products, I mean stuff that I'd never seen because they just came out. that was exciting. Marmot, Spider, HH... you name it they might just have it. I picked up a comfy top made in Turkey that looks totally breathable and cute. A comfy and cute sports top are not easy to find and it was on the 50% off rack. Made my day.
If you like one of a kind sports gear and the good stuff... I recommend Booniez. Go check them out! -

Driving by on our way to Sanctuary Rock Gym, their sign caught my eye, and I wondered just what it was? To the Cloud! ....Or actually I looked em up on Yelp and liked what I read. I have found Shiho's reviews to be pretty spot on, so after reading the reviews we stooped in and met the manager, Jeremy. Jeremy was in a great mood and was playing some good music. He was helpful and let us browse without being annoying and bugging us every few minutes. We got a great deal on a fleece windbreaker from North Face and decided we will be coming to Booniez over REI or Big 5.

This is a great store and the salesmen/owners are very helpful in getting you what you need. My feet are flat as a board and wide as a snowshoe, so unfortunately they did not have a shoe that fit me right. However, they were extremely helpful and probably ran back and forth getting different shoes about six times. They are currently having an end of season clearance with 30% off their entire stock of shoes and up to 70% off selected clothing. By the time you read this, it'll probably be over though. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because their selection of shoes and gear is kind of limited in terms of brands offered. They have Helly Hansen, Columbia, Salomon, Under Armour, Dale of Norway, and a few other high end brands (many European brands). However, they do not have The North Face, Arc'Teryx, or Mountain Hardwear (three of my favorite brands). The owner said they will be getting some Montrail trail runners along with some other shoe brands that slip my mind. Those won't be in until September, but this store should definitely be on the list of must stops for gear nuts like myself. They also have a very sharp website at http://www.booniez.com which is where they apparently do most of their business.
P.S. - Like the other reviewer mentioned, they offer a 25% discount on everything in the store for military, which simply cannot be beat by any other outdoor store in the area. The Treadmill at Carmel Crossroads is the closest that I have seen with a 20% discount. -

Tents, hiking boots, backpacking stuff, stoves, outdoor stuff! Pretty much the epitome of a gear junkies dearest dreams have come true. Better yet, Booniez is not a big box shop like Outdoor World and REI. The employees are knowledgeable and will go out of their way to get you what you want. High fives all around on this shop.
The only downside is their hours are quirky. Short day on Saturday and closed Sunday. I stop by their site http://Booniez.com before stopping in sometimes to see what's available - this has never failed me. -

Good guys, good service. It's a small place, I bought some snow boots there a few years ago. I'd check there before checking any big chains, tos ee what deals they have.
