As one of the more recent additions to the Boone County Public Library system, the Scheben Branch is modern, spacious, and well-utilized by local residents. The first floor holds adult fiction, non-fiction, periodicals and reference sections, as well as a number of public computers. Upstairs there is a large children's library and several meeting rooms.

Scheben doesn't have the most extensive collection in the area, but the shelves of the technology, travel, and cooking sections are well stocked with new books. If you can't find a book you're looking for, the helpful librarians will gladly have it transferred from another branch or through inter-library loan.

My favorite of all the Boone County branches. I love when libraries have multiple floors. They recently finished an extensive renovation and it is very spacious and new-looking inside and out. The big windows in the back make it seem really bright and open when you first walk in. They have a decently modern collection and a very easy to use hold system.  I've reserved the private study rooms a few times when I needed a distraction-free space.   There's even vending machines that have snacks and coffee.  I last lived in Louisville where all the library branches were closed on Sundays. In Boone County, the Scheben, Main, & Florence branches are all open on Sundays 1-5pm. I commend that!

This library has the most helpful staff of any that I have visited. The first floor of the library has a fairly healthy stock of adult fiction, non-ficton, periodicals and computers. The second floor houses children's books. The cooking section and adult mystery section are my favorites. Again, the staff are so friendly and helpful here. If a book is not available at this branch, they immediately check the other branches or put a hold on the book for you.
