Even having read all the glowing Yelp and Google reviews about Boon, I was still extremely surprised when I went to him by how great he was in every way. The man himself is friendly, approachable, and genuinely eager to provide the best and fastest service for the lowest price. He clearly has a gift for working with computers. Watching him work, it is almost as though he is able to intuit computer problems and their solutions.
He is extremely honest, extremely generous with his time and with his prices, and will work with you to meet your needs and make things as easy as possible.
My situation was that I had a computer with an apparently failed hard drive due to water damage. I had sent it to Sony (the manufacturer) for an estimate on repairs, and they quoted me $1,300, including $400 for a new hard drive. I refused Sony's service, got my computer back, and searched the Web for a good computer repair shop in Bethesda. I found Boon, took the computer to him, and had it fixed in 1 day for $125. I didn't even have to buy a new hard drive.
Needless to say, I am extremely pleased with Boon's service. I have recommended him to everyone I know, both in and out of town. In the future, I will never think of taking my computer anywhere else. His service was far superior to Sony's, and his price and turnaround time were absolutely incredible. -

Once again I relied on Mr. Boon and once again he came through solidly. Today my PS2 keyboard was not working on my desktop, but worked on a friends PC. Mr. Boon diagnosed it over the phone as a bad PS2 board, suggested I purchased an inexpensive one with a USB keyboard. Worked like a charm and he did not even want or need to look at my computer. All over the phone.
Another time I had a bad power supply which he diagnosed. He sent me to MicroCenter and then installed a new one at minimal cost.
A friend had a significant virus problem which Mr. Boon quickly and inexpensively repaired, saving all the data.
I would not go to anyone else for quick, excellent, and reasonably priced service. -

I was extremely pleased with the service and help that I got at Boon PC. I got a dreaded virus/trojan horse and Boon was able to remove the malicious software and fix my computer w/in 3 hours. I called Boon PC around 9pm and he picked up and told me to come in the following day. I appreciated getting some advice at the late hour.
Boon PC's prices are way lower than Geek Squad (which offered to return my computer in 2-4 days). I hope not to ever a virus again, but I would definitely go back to him for service. -

I went by Boon's on Saturday to have him assess my aging laptop.
He recommended a new hard drive and I decided I wanted some additional RAM. I purchased the needed items at Microcenter in Rockville.
I brought the laptop and parts into him on Monday at 10AM. My laptop was ready for pickup at 5pm Monday, having been tuned up, parts installed and memory cloned.
For $95 plus parts I have a laptop that will likely last another two years.
Good service for a decent price, what more can you ask for? -

BoonPC has been fixing our computers for about 10 years now. The most recent was a week ago when my son's Dell Laptop's hard drive crashed. While the owner displays a great sense of humor, he is also a fine technician with solid diagnostic and repair skills. We followed his advice, bought a new 500 GB hard drive and a portable back-up hard drive at a local discount retailer. Then Boon was able to recover all the data, copy it to the portable hard drive and reinstate it on the new hard drive. All this with a smile and within 24 hours. My son is happy again. What more can I ask for? I would recommend BoonPC without hesitation to anyone with computer issues.

i found boon on yelp. i love yelp. i now love boon PC, too.
i think of computers a lot like cars. they are machines. many, many people use these machines on a daily basis yet don't really understand their inner workings and worse, would be somewhere b/w hugely inconvenienced and totally stranded w/o them. i feel like cars & computers should be on those "life skills" lists in school curricula that are unfortunately still electives but will hopefully one day be required courses (think woodshop, home ec, etc). but for now i am with the masses who drive/use machines every day and don't know how they really work so we are at the mercy of mechanics and IT experts.
it's kind of scary being @ the mercy of these folks. a lot of them are shady or just charge insanely high prices for simple work b/c they can. boon PC is NOT in either aforementioned category, thank goodness. i arrived @ boon around 3 in the afternoon and was out by 3:25 with a fully functioning computer that i'd previously feared for dead. not only was it painless, it was cheap (granted, the issue was very small even though it initially presented as a HD failure). and, i was also told to get down to my car quickly b/c that part of wisconsin avenue does not allow parking after 3:30 PM (for rush hour), and that if i ever have to come back they have free parking in the back. they saved my computer, and a potential parking ticket.

Boon is a nice guy and helpful. He assessed the issue with my PC and didn't charge for backing up some files. But his operation is a little lax ( e.g. no formal work orders). He seems to have more work than he can handle, so I would be wary of doing anything more than the basics with him.

These guys are excellent. I never back up my data, and I was about to pay sorely for it when my laptop crashed last week and wouldn't start up. All my dissertation data was nearly lost. I took it to Boon, and they charged a fair rate and were able to recover everything. They are nice, work fast, very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them.

i am almost afraid to tell the world about this guy for fear he will get too busy and the quality and speed of service will suffer, but I also want the DC area to know what a Godsend this guy is and he deserves all the business he can handle.
With our computers now running our entire lives , business and personal, it is soooo crucial to have an honest, smart (very smart) computer guy in your corner! -

The hard disk on my laptop failed several months ago, and I kept putting off dealing with it for fear of being given the run around, being charged a fortune for repair, or being told that the data was unrecoverable. Finally decided to check Yelp for local technicians and came across Boon. He diagnosed the problem immediately, sent me on my way to a computer store with a recommended replacement part, then switched it in, re-installed my operating system, and recovered and reloaded all the data from my failed drive within 48 hours. Efficient, professional, and all for just over $100. Recommend highly - good, honest work and service at an excellent price.

Boon PC is indeed excellent. I had a problem with my hard drive starting up. Boon told me to bring it over, and he did some troubleshooting on the spot with me there. Fortunately, it turned out to be just a loose connection tucked away -- he charged me $20 and sent me on my way. Boon clearly knew his way around a computer, and he was friendly, straightforward, and efficient. Highly recommended.

DO NOT go to Best Buy or call Geeks on Call if you have a computer problem. This place is much less expensive, and the service is efficient, pleasant and excellent. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
