The service was delightful. The food was delicious and filling. What to choose is your challenge. Everything is so fantastic. I had the sweet tea. Perfect! Corn nuggets were a first for me and I was glad I ordered it. The couple I dined with had the fried pickles. Those were "the bomb". One of us had gumbo and it was okay. Po-boy and fried shrimp tasty.
There was a British guy singing outside. Very entertaining and has plenty of jokes. -

I really wanted this place to be good, but was disappointed. The scallops were rubbery and bland, baked potato was cold, deviled crab seemed to have no crab meat, but the fried pickles were good. I will try it again eventually, but first experience was a bad one.

Ah, Boon Docks. A lovely dinner at this restaurant made for one perfect evening.
Boon Docks is off the beaten path and a nice change from the bustle of Panama City Beach. It's a little hard to find since they built a new bridge, but it's worth the trouble! The restaurant sits right on the bay which makes for a beautiful view. There are wooden docks around the back where you can sit outside while waiting for a table and watch the fishermen.
The atmosphere is laid-back and friendly and you get a long of bang for your buck with the huge portions. The kitchen is small so do you have to wait, but just be patient. This was before my vegetarian days so I pigged out on fried grouper and blackened tuna. Hush puppies and fried pickles...these still call to me in my sleep. Yum!
After eating, have a look in the gift shop. You can buy homemade items, candy, postcards and of course the famous Boon Docks t-shirts. I hear they're a must-have!Listed in: Food that I heart

SO glad we came here- it rescued us from an otherwise exhausting and slightly disappointing day. We had gone to Ebro hoping to bet on some mutts, only to arrive to find that despite what their website indicated, there was no pup-racing. But this isn't about prior disappointment- this is about having a pleasant experience at Boon Docks! Friendliest staff ever- and even super friendly regulars who made conversation while we waited (be prepared for a wait... completely worth it, though, and walking around on the docks and listening to the live music was not a bad way to kill some time! May I suggest you bring some bug spray, though?) Dinner was tasty, quick, and I like the way they gave us an appropriate amount of food, not a huge amount that will just go in the trash. Po Boy was Delish! This place took the edge off my unsatisfied gambling urge.

This is a solid pick for seafood in Panama City. The fried pickles were fantastic. The service was also good. The location is a bit off the beaten path of the beach but not a deal killer. We went around 4pm local time and had no wait at all. The place filled up pretty quickly within about 30 min so go early. Prices were around 13-20 dollars per plate.

I had an early dinner at Boon Docks in June 2009. It's very casual & the parking lot is more like a parking yard so I advise you to not overdress. There is always a wait-- this was my 3rd attempt to eat here. There is live music (this time it was a woman with a guitar) & places to wander around while you wait. I liked the looks of it-- the name fits the place.
We ordered the fried pickles for an appetizer. These are very tasty & are served with a ranch dip. Some were left & we carried them home to the kids. My husband ordered shrimp & I had the combo platter fried. On my plate: the fish was yummy, the oysters lacked any oyster taste, the crab cakes didn't taste crabby, BUT THE SHRIMP!!! The shrimp is where it's at when you go to Boon Docks. They were huge. They reminded us of the tiger prawns that Hamilton's (RIP) served on our honeymoon. The batter was light & crisp and the seasoning was just right to accent the taste of the meaty shrimp that wasn't over- or under-cooked. I ate mine holding them like turkey legs. The side items need some fancying up. My husband doctored his fries with more of the ranch dip but there was nothing we could do to save the cole slaw. The tartar & cocktail sauces were both good & are served in squeeze bottles.
We watched the air boat ride & made some pictures on the docks & went home full. I drank my husband's tea-to-go on the way back & it was good. Next time I want to order just shrimp & pickle chips. -

The restaurant is away from the main drag so the prices are a little bit more reasonable. It's right on the dock with picture windows facing the bay. We were there after dark so there wasn't much to see but I would think the views should be pretty good during the day. The tables were sticky and did not have a clean feeling. They had a good selection of seafood and what we had were pretty good. We had the grouper throats and the fried whole flounder. They also have a good selection of beer and I think the locals like to go there and hangout. If we go again would be during the day to enjoy the views.

We don't care for this place. It's interesting in decor. I usually like out of the way quirky places but this one isn't one of them. It is a drive to get here, if you can find it, since they added the new bridge. By the way, the new airport is being built near it. They do have good fried pickles and sweet tea. I thought the fried seafood had too much batter and not enough seafood. Little shrimp with lots of batter to make them look big.

One of my new favorite PCB food joints. Atmosphere was alot fo fun, really neat location on the ICW. Great service, and the food was awesome. It's a must go to now. its very kid friendly, and it seemed most of the parents kept them in line. Which is pretty rare for the area.

Great Food, Good prices, and beautiful views. Right on the Intracoastal Waterway where you can walk the old docks, watch the boats go by and maybe spot a dolphin, or even an alligator.
