I had an excellent experience. I went on a date to play mini golf. I asked the lady behind the counter how many courses there were and she told me there were two. I asked here which one she preferred and she told me and gave me her reasons. She was polite and helpful.
The golf greens were in good shape, the grounds were maintained, the fountains and waterfalls all seemed to be working, and it was not crowded at all. The other patrons were mostly families with kids and couples on dates.
We got ice cream on the way out, and the lady behind the food counter let us try a sample and then processed our food order smoothly. She was polite and friendly. Thank you Boomers, I will come again. -

This review is for the batting cages and the general customer service, I didn't golf or anything else.
If you are coming here for the batting cages, go somewhere else. I have no idea where that might be, but just not here.
We tried to get one of the batting cages for 30 minutes at $18. After waiting behind a couple for over 10 minutes who were trying to get a round of miniature golf, we were finally told that the timers on the machines were broken and we would only be able to pay per 30 pitches. We asked if we bought $18 dollars worth of tokens if they would still honor their military discount and they said they would not. We were then given 2 horribly dead -softball- bats that wrang my whole arm no matter how well I connected and 2 stinky helmets. One of the bats broke in half midway through our session; it literally snapped in half at the top of the grip. Wow.
1 star for the machines actually being pretty accurate despite the failure of the establishment to honor advertised rates or stock even mediocre equipment. -

Went here with the hubby. This place sucks.
Come for the golf only. DO NOT PLAY THE ARCADE GAMES. Most of them are broken. We tried playing the machines to win tickets, most of the machines are broken and have black tape over the token slot.
The arcade games on the second floor are almost all broken too. The guns on the shooting games don't work. And the racing games have tape on the token slots. Just don't come here.
The staff are morons. Come for the golf. That's about it. -

Nice pirate themed miniature golf course. The course provided a few challenging holes so it was good times had by all. A little course maintenance and this would increase the stars in this review.

You need games, but you can't go to Disneyland or to the annual Fair? Head on down to Boomers! It's here - everyday - all day - all 365 days out of the year!
I remember when this was the Family Fun Center. Compared to the other Boomers! I've been, this is the cleanest and most organized facility I've been to. However, there is a manager dude with Dragon Ball-Z hair that's a bit over himself walking around. You got some nice keys on the belt of yours.
At this Boomer's, you'll find -
2 mini-golf courses (Pirate and Medieval themes).
Laser Tag
Batting Cage
Lots of kids. Lots of Kids.
Battle Boats
Go Karts
Two floors of video games and carnival like games; and kids tripping over their prize tickets.
A cafe replete with Hebrew National Dogs, burgers, fries, and MILFs hosting birthday parties for their kids.
Lots of kids. Screaming kids.
Kids with shoes. Kids without shoes.
Because I regularly donate blood, I scored some free passes to Boomers! which allowed for unlimited mini-golf, go karts, battle boats, and laser tag. Mind you, this trip also satisfies my bi-yearly trip to Boomers because there's only so much mini-golf, go karts, battle boats, and laser tag and screaming kids tripping over themselves, their mouths, their feet, and their prize tickets.
Did I just see a party limo bus in the parking lot? Wow, kids birthday parties are sure changing. I remember when I was excited to just have my birthday party at McDonald's.Listed in: MILF Habitats.

For awhile, I went through a "batting is exercise" phase just to get myself outta doing P90X Plyometrics (busty girls shouldn't be jumping that much!), so I came to Boomers a lot solely for the batting cages.
PROS:
- every cage was up and working
- great pitches, never too high or too low where you feel like you totally just wasted your money (had that experience w/ a different Boomers location)
- plenty of equipment (helmets and bats) in every size
CONS:
- didn't honor their option to pay for time slots as advertised on their website (i.e. $10 for 15 minutes, $18 for 30 mins, etc)
- didn't accept debit or credit cards -

This might be one of the better Boomer's in the land. The video game selection may leave you wanting more and the go-carts are very slow.
But the shining gem of this location is their mini-golf courses. You have a choice of the pirate cove or King Arthur's Court. Both are well painted and maintained. The Pirate's Cove is by far my favorite.
Otherwise, it's a pretty standard Boomers. -

Boomers are typically great but this one is by far the worst I've ever been too. The service is absolutely horrible, and the gang bangers standing outside every friday and saturday night is not the ideal place to bring kids.
The last straw was when my friend and I went to the batting cages and an employee was constantly hassling us for chewing gum, and kept saying "you better not spit that on the ground" and then made sure we didn't by putting a cup right by our helmets. As well as making other crude remarks.
I wish there were negative stars so I could give this one a -5. -

I have been here a couple of times and I must say I like this Boomers more than the one in Clairemont.
This location is bigger. It has a two-story arcade and has a Kidopolis (it is like a Playplace in McDonald's). The miniature golf area is pirate themed. Also, their miniature golf area is far and away from the parking lot. Unlike the miniature golf in Clairemont, it is next to the parking lot and sometimes the golf ball can hit the cars.
The women's bathroom was a bit dirty and they had a clogged sink. -

Do not go there.
We had coupons and the manager said they could not honer them. We had signed up for the boomers club and printed them out for five of us.
The manager lost $50 plus food and drink for the corporation.
I cannot see how they are still in business -

Let's face it- arcade games were outdated back when the first Playstation was released, so there's no way a bulky cabinet game is going to compete with anything you can play at home on your Wii/XBOX 360/PS3. The age of the arcade is probably dead, at least until America catches up with Japan (and I don't see that happening where this industry is concerned).
The game section of Boomers is a testament to this technological change, as I don't think I've seen a new game appear there since I moved here three years ago. The DDR machines seem to get a decent amount of play, but the rest is pretty old. I can dig that though, as there's something comforting about playing the games you grew up with And the skee-ball, air hockey type games are fun. Boomers also offers two different mini-golf courses, which seems to be the "awkward first/second date" destination for many. And yes, I took my girlfriend there on our second date.
The real reason I come to Boomers, though, is for the batting cages. If I'm feeling particularly stressed, hitting a bunch of baseballs is a fantastic cure. They have three different speeds available (slow, medium and fast), and you get 30 pitches for $2. I highly recommend bringing gloves of some kind; hit a ball with your bare hands fifty times or so, it'll hurt like eight bitches in a bitch boat. I'll also warn that the "softballs" are anything but, and are actually quite hard and heavy.
Stepping into the cage is always a nice Zen moment for me, where I just focus on the pitches and not think about anything else for a good half hour or so. The cages at Boomers aren't perfect (some pitches tend to be too low, they can come out at a rate that's hard to keep up with) but they're the most affordable. -

Mini golf, bumper boats , batting cage, go carts and an arcade. Now I have not eaten there however everything else is fun for something to do or to take the kids. It is a little dated and can get pricey not bad for a round of mini golf.

Horrible, Lame and SUCKY!!!!!
Minus one star for the bitchy young WHORE-IBLE chick that was working the outside area, who wouldn't let me and my friends go play in the batting cages at night when they weren't really even closed yet!!!!!!
Minus one star for the other lame and boring chick that was working the prizes counter and she bitchy "i-want-to-get-out-of-her-and-get-high" look and attitude on her face.
C'mon BOOMERS! Hire people with personality and who know to have a fun time while working at a place like this. Also, minus another star for the chick at the prize counter not being able to multi-task!! There was another family to me and my friends side who were looking at prizes, and while me and my friends were deciding what to get from our tickets, she could have helped them and gotten them their prizes.
Basically, this place gets there first star for having nice and fun games on the inside and outside. the second star goes to the $12 days where you only pay $12 and you can play all the video games you want and all the other shit you want too.
Basically, the employees are the worse part about coming here.

Boomers is an excellent place for entertainment of all ages. They have an arcade, water bumper boats, a slick track, laser tag, batting cages and miniature golf.
The golf course is challenging and fun. The batting cages are inexpensive, it's about $2 for 30 pitches. Their bats and helmets are lacking, so if you have your own - bring it for sure. -

We went here today, and they do take credit cards. Maybe they didn't when the last person went. The girls behind the counter were too busy talking to each other with their backs to the counter that it took another girl who looked like she was leaving point to us before we got help. When we went to return the clubs the girls were still talking to each other and another one was checking her txt messages. We had an overall good time, just that their customer service was pretty crappy.

This location must be the low budget boomers. I saw where they placed the lazer tag and I just laughed at how bad it was. The go karts were even worst. They had some that went half the speed of others and the employees failed to fix the situation. The golf course was pretty sad to the other boomers I've been to. I was just disappointed attending this place. No wonder kids stay at home and play computer games all day. This place stinks.

Boomers used to be the "Family Fun Center", which is exactly what it is. A decent arcade, 2 miniature golf courses, batting cages and some basic bumper boats and go carts. I usually go here every few months for the videogames, and to win some AMAZING! prizes (like whistle lips!) with my tickets. The mini golf courses are respectable, nicely themed (pirate and medieval) and kept up for the most part. (The pirate course has a pretty bitchin' "giant" volcano and steals the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song a couple of times.) In general the place is clean and fun. I've never had problems with other guests or the staff. Used to love going here as a kid and still roll in as a bored adult every once and awhile. Worth a try on a lazy summer afternoon. (They have specials where you get all the games you can play for a set price sometimes, check with the staff on that.)

Came here last Saturday and Sunday. Came here Saturday for the mini golf and 20 tokens deal. We had to go play games to kill time because it was so packed that they were out of golf clubs. When we came to check if they had more clubs yet .. they suddenly announced that they had a waitlist that we were not even on! even though we were there for at least 30 - 45 minutes waiting already! They say they don't offer the $1 military discount for token items, but we got a $1 off for the value pack that included tokens. Went back on Sunday for the batting cages. 30 pitches for $2 wasn't too bad.

We tried mini golfing first...they didn't have any available golf clubs. My niece then got denied on the kidopolis after being a few inches above the requirements even though she can play on the much much smaller one at McDonalds. A few of the ticket games and counter machines didn't work. The neck to neck horse racing game was the best part of the day at Boomers.

OK, I just got back from this place. We went there for my nephew's 10th birthday party. We live in San Diego so what a schlep! We hauled our 9y/o, 7 y/o and 4 y/o up there. They've been to Boomers in Kearney Mesa before and they were excited. For me and my wife, it ranks up there with Chuck E. Cheese in popularity. Anyway, the place in Vista looks newer and better maintained than the one near us. They have bumper boats and go karts and batting cages just like the one in Kearney Mesa but they don't have a ferris wheel and other carnival rides. The minature golf courses in Vista look newer and better maintained and the game room is nicer, more spacious and has more games than Kearney Mesa. Don't go there for the pizza-it's OK but not much better than the Chuckster's stuff. I was disappointed that althought they had a nice selection of beer on tap, I had a real hard time getting to any of it. I stood at the counter in front of the beverage station for 10 minutes on two separate occasions waiting for someone to come by and take my order. These young kids kept walking by so fast I couldn't catch them. When I finally grabbed someone, they told me they didn't serve beer by the pitcher and that I'd have to go to a different counter on the other side of the concessions to get beer by the glass. The line over there was so god damn long that I totally lost interest in the beer anyway. Minus one star for the beer fiasco and minus another star for the lousy pizza. On a bright note, there was a mexican market next door with a bar b cue going in front that smelled wonderful. The smoke kept blowing on to the minature golf course and forced me to take a look. It was there that I found the habanero hot sauce I had been looking for.

I have a hard time thinking this place deserves much more than 3 stars. Being a Tuesday, it was "only" $66 for myself and my two boys to play all the upper floor video games, two courses of overcrowded mini golf, sweaty lazer tag in a plastic tent, bumper boating, and slow-mo go-carting we could fit into the day.
My boys only being 7 and 8, overall they had fun and even said it was the funnest day they've ever had at Boomers, despite the lack of excitement with the old video games and the constant nagging to go to Chuck E Cheese.
If I weren't going there just so kids could ride along, I'd probably not go back for the go carts. They're super slow, although a couple of the single Eagle carts were a bit faster than the rest, which allowed for the aggressive drivers to run you into the side. The track was pretty short and there's only 10 carts, so a long line makes for a bit of a wait. On the plus side, bring a couple of kids that, despite them actually being 59" tall, fall short of their "58" line and you get to go around twice in a row as their driver on one of the larger "DoubleEagle" go carts. The engines are smokey, so if you're in the back waiting for the race to start, it really sucks, but once they're moving, you can breathe again. The only wrecks happen when someone gets too aggressive and runs someone else into the wall, which does happen at least once about every other race.
The most fun my kids had were on the bumper boats. Sadly, most of the boats' batteries were dead by the evening, but we were able to ride them 4 times throughout the day.
The mini golf courses were interesting, although there were so many groups out there, we had to wait at nearly every hole, or just skip to another hole, which we did quite often to keep busy. I recommend mini-golfing here on days that aren't so busy. The castles and bridges and caves on the course make the courses interesting.
All in all, we got there at 12, took an hour and a half lunch, and left at closing at 9 when they turned the power off to the video games, causing some of the younger children up there to start balling on the floor--a very anti-climactic end to the day. We played every video game available upstairs, took a total of 4 go cart rides, 4 bumper boat rides, played maybe an hour of mini-golf until boredom and frustration with the crowds and losing a ball in a drain hole in the course got the better of us. There were literally bus-loads of high schoolers and middle schoolers there, filling the place to the brim at every part of the park. Most of the families took refuge in the mini golf courses, making a slow-go for just the three of us.
My ears are still ringing loudly from the video games that were turned up so loud I literally could not hear my son ask me something after getting off of one. Was an entire day of fun at Boomers worth $66 and some temporary hearing loss? I'll let you decide.
In the future, I think I may be more inclined to go to a nickel arcade or Chuck E Cheese, drive some faster go carts that my kids can even drive themselves, and maybe put a round of mini golf in a much-less crowded location. Will it cost more than $66? Most-likely not. -

I don't throw the word "love" around as much as a lot of people, so when I do love something you'll probably want to listen up because chances are it's incredible. A fine example is this mini golf course. I love it. If you live anywhere near Vista and you haven't gone to the ol' Family Fun Center in a few years, you need to visit immediately. They turned the boring old golf course into a pirate mini golf course. And it's not just a cartoon-looking pirate on a sign telling you what hole you're on, you actually trounce around through a Spanish-style mission that looks like it's been firebombed, as well as a misty mountain cave that brings to mind the finest amusement park ride ever, the Pirates of the Caribbean [pre-Johnny Depp]. Further, there's a hole where you shoot into a giant skull-looking rock, in which the ball plumbing has apparently never worked right on so to get your ball back, you have to lay on your belly and shimmy into this giant skull like a real pirate would have to do. Very high marks across the board.
