Boomers has solid food and the guy behind the counter is super accommodating. When I asked if he had Chicken Salad he said he'd whip some up for me, so he grilled a piece of chicken, chopped it up and mixed it with mayo and onions-- I'm not saying we invented a great new sandwich-- but A for effort.
They do have to do something about their outside awning-- it looks like a diesel bus parked under it for a week and left the engine running-- scary dirty!
But the food is solid, they're open late and it is what it is. -

Best subs in worcester that I've discovered. The miss piggy is amazing, and the subs are served on enormous loaves of bread. The calzones are also good, inexpensive, and can easily be made to last 2 meals (as well as the subs, now that I think about it).

As a college student in Worcester, MA, I've driven by Boomers more times than I can count, but it wasn't until about two months ago that I ate there for the first time when it was 10 o'clock at night and I found myself starving.
Since then, I've absolutely fallen in love with their sandwiches - and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. It's not uncommon now for me, at least once a week, to run around my campus, grabbing my friends, and having them come to Boomers with me - I'm that smitten with the level of deliciousness of their food.
Don't let the shoddy-looking facade outside the building fool you, inside the place isn't as dive-y as you would expect. Their menu is unbelievably extensive - ranging from pizzas to sandwiches to salads to wraps, and all the side dishes you could imagine in between; I can't fathom someone not being able to find something they like on their menu.
Personally, I can recommend the Spicy Combo Club wrap - ham, monteray jack, and garlic aioli combined with the usual lettuce and tomato? Heaven. Absolute, perfect spicy sandwich bliss. Add a side of curly fries and you won't have any reason to look for another deli in Worcester, at least as far as I'm concerned.
So, if you're reading this review right now, waffling about whether or not Boomers is worth the shot, GO! You won't regret it! I can almost guarantee that.Listed in: College Favorites

Now I remember why I used to eat here when I worked in Worcester.
I was in the mood for a delicious chicken parm sub and this was the place. Juicy chicken in a large sub, toasted to perfection. Priceless.
Not the biggest dining room, I enjoyed a window seat at the counter to enjoy a little people wathng with my lunch.
Being that I was there around 11 am, the dining room was fairly quiet and very clean. There was a steady flow of customers during my visit in spte of the early time frame.I imagine it gets much busier during prime time, especially when the colleges are open.
Definayely worth stopping for something to ear if you're in the area. -

Don't get scared off by he dilapidated yellow awning outside, because Subway has nothing on Boomers. The subs are about the same price and have twice as much flavor and 100x's as many choices. Every sub I've tried so far has been very good - sometimes so good that I don't want to venture out and try a new one.
I'll second the pita chips. Get them once and I'll guarantee you'll get them every time thereafter. -

Worcester, MA
This is one of those places that I kind of forget about these days now that I'm not living nearby. Their food is delicious, simple and very quick. The guy who owns it now changed the pizza dough recipe when he bought it and although I haven't had it in several months, I remember trying it after it changed hands and thinking how good it was. The owner actually blushed when I told him I thought it was tasty.
It's one of those hole in the wall sandwich places that is great in college areas and with WPI and Becker being right there I'm sure they see a lot of business. They probably have 10 tables, it's not really a place you'd sit down, but I have and it's clean. I used to walk down there when I worked in the center of Worcester and we would sometimes eat there instead of bringing food back, especially if there was good office gossip to be had.
Today I picked up two of their Chick Happens rollups which are huge things on oversized pitas with grilled chicken (you can see it being sliced up and grilled), hummus, scallions and lettuce. It's supposed to have onions, but any raw onion makes me a little sick, so I order it without those. It's really tasty.
Most of their sandwiches are huge and should probably be split if you're not in heavy training for something athletic or counting it as two meals, but I'm running on a deficit with the latest heat wave and needed the sustenance.
The staff is courteous and friendly. -

I've only tried their pizza and Italian sausage sandwich. The pizza is ok but the sandwich is really good!

I lived within 1 or 2 blocks of Boomers for two years and probably ate everything on their menu. The best thing (and I have .ericm to thank for this), which I still crave to this day, 5 years after moving out of Worcester, is the ranch chicken wrap with spicy curly fries inside it. Want. Now.

Slammin calzones. The Texan is a must. Absolutely worth a trip to Worcester.

Cheap eats and always open late. This place always seemed kind of shady though... not sure what goes on in the back but hey the food's always reliable. Calzones are nice and large, too

Boomers is really good. I love their homemade pita chips and probably tried the majority of their sub/wrap menu due to living nearby and being on the WPI swim team (which mostly ordered from Boomers for away meets while I was there) for 4 years. Their reubens are very good.
