I feel kind of bad writing this review about Boomers because it is obviously in big trouble.  Some of the rides don't run.  The miniature golf course has rippled and torn carpeting.  More than half of the seats on the Ferris wheel were out of service.  The rides were rusty.  The bumper boats only ran in circles.  The people working there were surly at best, which is understandable because they probably get flack from park patrons all day long.  We actually asked for a partial refund.  To their credit, we got it.

Normally, I would just find Boomers sad and let it go.  But it is expensive and there are a lot of other options in San Diego.  My sister and her 9-year-old son were visiting, and we decided to give this a try based on the website. I don't know where they took the photographs of all of those happy people on the new, clean rides, but I would like to go there instead of this place.  It was really embarrassing to me to have suggested Boomers, and my nephew was clearly very disappointed.

The next day, my sister and nephew went to Belmont Park.  It cost them less, the employees were pleasant and helpful, and the rides were clean and running.  It's a no brainer which one you should choose.  I'm sorry, Boomers, but you earned this review.

I think many of these reviews are based on what once was, and feelings of  nostalgia.  My not having been a youth in Boomers' heyday, I am basing my bad review on the conditions as of yesterday (6/23/09).

The place is ridiculously ugly with its numerous power lines running through the park.  The courses are unimaginative and boring, both courses.  Most holes can be hit with a straight shot with little variation of this trait.  While golfing, I was thinking that they should turn on the lights (it was getting dark), then realized that the lights were on, just that many of the lights were burned out and not replaced.  For $8 to golf, I think that a few light bulbs could make the budget.

No comment on the arcade, only walked through it, seemed busy and popular.

My nephew loved the go karts; I would recommend buying a bracelet to get unlimited rides or something, because one ride is $7.

But anyhow, there has to be another better place in all of San Diego where I am not surround by power lines not bringing light to course, though with how poor it is, maybe it's better it be dark after all.

I remember when this was Family Fun Center ... it was so much better.

Boomers is dumb! The laser tag, when I went only had four vests, so it was two on two laser tag. LAME!! A majority of the rides are TOO babyish (like the up-down hopper tower thing, and the train that goes around in a circle, and the firetruck that spins around).

The only thing that is actually fun are the bumper cars and bumper boats. Everything else is lame.

I miss Family Fun Center ...

I really like Miniature Golf. Way back in the day, when Boomers was once the Family Fun Center, this place was awesome -- three courses, bumper boats, batting cages, and an arcade. Over time, they expanded their amusement offerings, adding a go-kart track, some kids rides, etc - but took out my favorite course, International Golf. Some of the kid-oriented stuff i'm sure was to scare away the high school gangsters that used to hang out here in the 90s

Anyway, the place seems to be always crowded, and getting run down. I came on Saturday with some friends for some mini-golf. We did the western land, and immediately noticed a sign to not play on Hole 9 due to bees nesting nearby. Folks, you can deal with this -- check the yellow pages for Bee Removal! Some of the backdrop buildings seemed to be falling apart, and one even had a boarded up window. I guess the foreclosures are even hitting up the fake businesses of western land.

My pals got a few holes-in-one, but none for me, but i ended up winning anyway, just slightly under par.

The course is still fun, but the park is aging. However, they seem to take decent care of their greens (or blues) - but two of the holes had slight unintended lumps in the carpet, where it was worn and bubbled up. Ay!

Rundown and dark...

This place used to be the hotspot like from 1995 - 2000.
The parking lot was always full and this was a fun place to hang out and meet people.
Now everything is old, including arcade games and the golf course.

It could be that the internet took away the social, physical fun from the younger generation.
I'll be back, but only for the batting cages.

I've been a fan of this place since it was family fun center.  Glad to see they still have a classic air hockey table.  They have a good deal for tokens if you spend $10 and an even better one if you spend $20.  When the basketball shooting game ate my tokens, a girl who worked there was quick to fix the situation.  I didn't get a chance to experience all of what Boomers has... .pretty much just spent my time in the arcade playing the classics.  But... I plan to go back and play some mini-golf.

We went there tonight with the kids.  We had a good time, especially the kids.  We got the wrist band for games.  Most of them weren't my thing.  They did have Artic Thunder which my boys love, so that was cool.  We played a lot of the ticket winning games.  They were fun enough.  We liked the basketball and air hockey.  But I couldn't get over the prices.  Maybe I'm used to Chuck E. Cheese prices.  Honestly, C E C has better games for less.  I noticed there was only two skee ball games and one wasn't working.  They used to have quite a lot of them.  What happened to them?  Where were the pinball games?  Maybe I'm nostalgic for them since my husband and I would come here to play pin ball when we started dating.  We did the Go Karts.  $7 for one ride?  Three of us drove and my youngest son was a passenger ($2), so it cost us $23 for a five minute ride.  Sure, it was fun, but geez, $23?  I guess there are some money saving package deals.  Maybe next time we'll do that.
Anyway, we had a good time, can't complain about that.  It's just not as good as I remember or as affordable.  But for a once in a while thing, it's ok.

Pretty fun place.  I loved the go-carts.  I think that was the best part of the whole place.  The mini golf and batting cages are great too!  It could just use some fixing up.  It seems a little bit older and could use some renovations.

heres a example: couple weeks back i beat my buddy Jersy Jeff at old school street fighter even tho he tries 2 use the indian guy dalsim 2 stay back and do cheep s***.  im tryin 2 fight the boss when some Fing loser w/ a dragon ball shirt on and the same hair challanges me and cheats.

i tell boomers but they dont do s**** about it so i just wait.  i reckognize him goin all out on the retarted dance game and me and Jeff hawked loogies on his hair and went 2 the batting cages.  he comes up w/ his little possy and minachure golf clubs LOL ok wtf u gonna do against a bat homie??  yeah thats right walk away

rest of the day was tight on the go karts and golf but then i see his ass again in lazer tag.  im over it and just tryin 2 play but he follows me around shootin my vest. i get sick of the that s*** and bounce my self off the blow up walls in their like its the WCW and spear him Goldberg style but w/ the lazer gun in the face.

LOL he starts goin crazy on the ground but no1 can hear him cause the machine pumpin air in the lazer house. im all "now whos de activated b*** and spit 1 more loogy and bounce (lol srsly cause its a jumper).  i wanted to ride the go karts again but wasnt bout 2 stay and get blamed 4 that hole thing.

like i said awesome place and not 2 much money just bring a red bull or monster w/ u cause the rides and crap take a lot out of u so u gotta leave enough energy 2 defend urself.  oh and if dragon ball b**** is reading this ill b their next tuesday just look 4 a mcfadden jersy u p****.

Mini golf is the physical embodiment of fun. If there was a Working Class Olympics, where the best bowlers, shuffleboarders, foosballers, and such showcased their talents, mini golf would be unanimously selected as the marquee event. Say you won the lotto, what would you do with all that time? Anyone that says "I'd probably keep my job" or "Volunteer!" is a damn fool as long as there's mini golf around. It would take a really shitty course to screw up mini golf, since like sex and pizza, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. What I'm trying to convey is that I am a big fan of the putt putt.

Unfortunately, mini golfing at this Boomers is still pretty good, if you catch my drift. Curse you, Boomers! Why do you buy up all the mini golf in Southern California then neglect to budget for upkeep and maintenance everywhere besides the phenomenal pirate course in Vista? Put some money into this place!

I understand gripes about ripples in the turf and such, and though I sympathize, we pretend that ripples are just another obstacle between you and par. When it gets dumb is when you can't see the hole or the other obstacles because it's nighttime and no one has bothered to replace the missing lightbulbs for the first five holes or so. If I took anything away from that experience, it's that you don't see many blind people at the mini golf course for a good reason. Visual challenges aside, we still shot okay on the holes of darkness because the holes are incredibly unimaginative. No pendulums, no wagon wheels, no doors that open and close on the mini buildings... pretty much just straight lines and curves with the occasional hill or dip. If variety is the spice of life, life here is not spicy. It's British food.

There are tiny little tables at the end of each hole that I have always assumed were for writing down everyone's score. However, since these little tables are topped with turf, your pencil goes right through your scorecard. Nice. So I stopped on one of the turf-covered benches, and as a little gravy on top of an already lackluster course, the whole place was recently doused with swamp water, so I got swamp ass and eventually had to stick my hand into two swamp holes for ball retrieval purposes. What a delight.

Bonus star for having an actual 18th hole THEN the meaningless return-the-golfball hole. Prompt revocation of bonus star for terrible Christmas carols over the loudspeaker before December.

Overall, Boomers needs to renovate. My guess is that they've needed to renovate since the early days of the Clinton administration. But if you're in the mood for putt putt and don't feel like driving to Vista, mini golf here is far better than no mini golf at all.

Dude. Just... Dude.

A little back story. My man and I had a good friend over earlier in the week for cocktails and we got to reminiscing about all the fun of mini-golf we had experienced as kids. I have no idea how it came up, but we planned to go. We looked into it and discovered this nearby Family Amusement thing. Let me just say thank gawd we had had a few drinks first! We had a great time, because that's what we do, but dude...

This place was more than run-down. It is victim of gross neglect. The "western" golf course is faded, in need of paint, and ugly to be sure. It is also downright dangerous! The plank bridge that traverses the depressing and dirty "river" has actual loose planks and some that are so worn that they bend when you step on them. There are more loose boards throughout the course. The entire thing was in need of basic sweeping. The amount of leaves and LITTER were hard to golf around and we frequently were brushing crap out of the way of the "tees". There is very little of the quaint holes were you shoot the ball through an architectural feature. In fact, when we played through the one they did have our balls were stuck and we had to toss another ball in to dislodge them. Sad. And would it be too much to put on the lights when the sun goes down? That 20 minutes of darkness was crazy. But then the lights that did finally come on were not really aimed at the putting greens, so whatever..

The place is also plagued with bad parenting. Kids were on the loose everywhere doing what ever the hell they wanted, including but not limited to walking right through your golf area while you were playing... It appeared that all the parents were planted at the snack bar feeding their faces and uninterested in interacting with the kids.

All in all this place sucked. Sure we had fun golfing, but we will either find another mini-golf place or never do it again.

When I need a break from the dinner and a movie routine, Boomers has got my back.  My wife and I despise the club scene so other than a movie, it's tough to find fun stuff to do in the evenings.

Yea, it's cheesy, but miniature golf makes for a great date.  Just be sure to let the girls win guys.  At least let them THINK they beat you.  Even if you get off to an early lead, you can always blow it at the 18th hole and make her day.

Just be prepared to be annoyed by all the pre-teens running around.  If you're looking for people-watching, make your way to the batting cages.  You'll see some hilarious shit over there.  I once saw some college-aged asian chick in a skirt and heels crowding the plate get beaned.

For some reason, I find this place really depressing. I really want to have fun there but it just feels so broken down and dingy. It's like a specter of the American Dream slowly choking to death, which is a totally mixed metaphor but that's the way this place makes me feel. The all you can play arcade games are fun, if you can actually make your way to a machine. The rides depress me because they are sized for kids and I'm not a kid anymore. I have a slight paranoia of being hit by speeding balls in the batting cages. The go carts are fun but there are better tracks around town. And the mini golf course is just faded and broken. On a hot day, the water boats can be fun but then you get sticky with chlorine water for the rest of your stay.

For kids, I would probably bump this place up to a 3 or 4 but as an adult without kids, I can only give it a 2.

AVERAGE FUN, ANNOYING PATRONS

So I went to Boomers AKA Family Fun center on Memorial Day and although I was not with my family, I was with my girlfriend and a set of twins, they still let us in.
I was afraid that I was going to have to pay for each attraction on an individual basis, but this was not the case.  18.95 got me a bracelet that allowed me all day fun on all of the attractions!  Yay!  The day was starting out great.  I got a pretzel, and the nice young woman asked me if I would like some nacho cheese sauce for dipping.  "Gratis"  I inquired?  She didn't know what I was talking about but assured me that it was free.

We started out with a game of miniature golf for old times sake.  This is where the day started to go down hill...   the first course (of two)  had some random large family playing some hap-hazard game of no rules mini-golf with 7 people.  The rules at the beginning of the course explicitly state that you have a maximum group of 4.  Well I didn't say anything but we gave them the old stink eye!

We ended up playing on the second course which was a very sub-par course.  There are very few  "interactive" holes, i.e. the ones where you hit the ball in a big shoe and it comes out somewhere else.  Ramps and loop-the-loops (of which this course had neither) help too.  The course was maintained OK, I've seen much worse, but not a very fun course.  I won, and came out 2 over par.  With another go at the course, I think I could break par.

Next was the Go-Karts.  We got in the singles line, and then due to some technical snafu (once again stupid customers), we were cut in line by adults who had waited in the wrong line.  To top it off, there were two hip seeming fellas with their dates in line singing the song 'Two Princes'
Guy 1: Who sings that song
Guy 2(with hipster mustache): I don't know, Sound Garden I think.
Guy 1: Oh yeah.
Me:  Actually it was the Spin Doctors.
Guy 2:  Well it kinda sounds like Sound Garden.
Me:  No, not at all actually.

I have no faith in the youth of America, or at least those at Boomers.

Once we waited about 30 minutes, we got onto the karts and did a few laps.  I think I won but there was really not that fun at all.  After this I did not really want to wait in line again, so we just left.

I think that Boomers would be a lot more fun if there were one day a week where no children were allowed and they sold booze.  I think that Thursday might be a good day for this.

"Where arcade video games come to die" said the dude upon entering.
Well, yes, but if you're looking for the latest gaming stuff - you're wrong. The days of leaving your score on the machine for everyone to see are over, go play your GTA4 on your PS3.

No, the true beauty of this place lies in its batting cages, bumper boats/cars and mostly - mini golf! I loooooove this place. Where else can you have 2 hours worth of Saturday night entertainment for 2 for under 20 dlls? Even movies will put you out of 22 dlls.

During last week's heat wave we decided to venture out since the AC was broken and the damn hotness was unbearable. I sorta went huh? when dude suggested this place but once we teed off it was all giggles.
The only thing is that even though there's 2 courses, one of them supposedly for kids - they were all up in our business. Agh. Yet, I can't complain cuz it's supposed to be a family place. Oh well. I sucked horribly at this game and ended up losing by 12 strokes, but i had more laughs in one night that I'd had in a long time. The only thing that could make this place better would be alcohol. But then again - it'd totally be all expensivo and shit.  Nah, I'll just sneak in my flask and spike the watered down cokes next time =)

"So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999."  --Prince

1999.  When the games here were new.

The absolute best offerings were probably Tekken 5, Initial D, Time Crisis 3, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, and Marvel vs. Street Fighter.  One of the latter two had an unresponsive Player 1 Fierce (Hard Punch) button.  It was the machine to the left of the other.  I know that's a lame description, but you'll understand if you stop in.  They're right next to each other.  Just remember: left is effed.

For comparison, the other games include NBA Showtime (yes, the one that was ported to the N64... Jason Williams still had long hair and played for Nutsacramento) and an old WWF wrestling game (with such stars as D-Lo Brown).  A young White Chocolate and D-Lo Brown, that takes me back.  There's a handful of ticket games, including the classic basketball shooting game... which stole tokens and didn't work.  Boo.

Certain days (Tuesdays and Thursdays, I believe), it's unlimited games for $12.  But again, the games are old.  Not a great arcade.

The batting cages are really the only good reason to come here.  $2 for 30 pitches, or you can pay by the half-hour.  If you plan to take many swings, you might want to bring batting gloves.  (Started to notice some blistering around pitch 62.  Gutted it out for the last 28 balls anyway, lest that last $1.85 go to waste.  Whatever, like you wouldn't.)

The house bats aren't bad, but the house batting helmets are gross.  It's kind of like wearing rental bowling shoes... but without socks... and on your noggin.  No amount of Lysol could take away the nasty.

There's slow pitch (25-30 mph, I think) all the way up to very fast pitch (70-75 mph?).  I'm not very good, so I feel at home on medium pitch (50-55 mph).  Sadly there's only one medium pitch machine.  I can only hit fast pitch (60-65 mph) if I cheat and start my swing early.  New-found respect for major leaguers that deal with pitches in the 90s.

(I think the pitching machine might be closer to the plate than the MLB-standard 60'6"... making my slow reactions more forgivable... but still.  60-65 mph?  Don't Little Leaguers throw about that speed?)

I am all for mini-golf and other fun, but this place needs an update! Yes, they have tons of games, go-karts, bumper boats, a ferris wheel, swings...and then there is the mini-golf.

We went with some out of town friends and two 12 year olds last Saturday. We played on the Storybook Land course and I swear I would have made all 2's if the greens weren't so jacked up! The greens were so wrinkled and bumpy! Even the part around the hole was so messed up it would screw up your shot and make it jump the hole. They need to work on both courses from what I saw. It seems like customers have destroyed a lot of the buildings and props too. Some buildings were patched poorly and lights were busted up and laying next to the green. The courses looked trashed and unkept. Most of all, the greens sabotaged shots that would have been easy. It's not like it's a serious game, but it's not fun to keep messing up because of a wrinkle or bump here and there.

Other than that, it is a fun place to take kids or go for fun yourself! I love the go-karts!

I'd have to say, this place has changed. I suppose the outside area is alright, but the inside is getting worse. They really don't bring in newer games so if I wanted to try my luck at playing  recent arcade games, i'd try Tilt in mission valley mall.

I've been going here for years and years since I was 10 years old so I know what I'm talking about. If I ever come there, it's for  the go-karts but even they are mediocre.  I'd go to the Miramar speed Circuit for a nice day of karting, but on a boring friday night with friends, Boomers will suffice.

Those bumper boats are great for summer days. I really can't say anything bad about them. They do what they're supposed to do and you're entertained how you're supposed to be. Just be careful of those groups of teens who like to gang up on others. I used to be one of them =P

I'd have a biased review on mini-golf because I really get bored fast and it's soo slow paced. I'd say it's the only miniature golf area I know and it takes up a lot of space in the lot so I would say there's plenty for everyone.

Summary: It's an OK for when you're bored. I honestly Don't come here at all anymore because I feel it lost its spark.  If you want what they have here then you should probably check it out. If you're seeking a mind-blowing experience, you may want to check elsewhere.

I just went to boomers today and into the batting cages. I spent two bucks on two tokens, (30 balls) and each one of the balls that came out was lower than my knees. I am not a very tall person (5'7") So I would say that the balls were less than a feet higher than the ground. I ever tried moving up and squatting so I could hit some of the balls. I ended up tapping a couple of balls by fixing my swing into a golf-like swing. which really sucked. After I got out I told the lady in charge and she told me that she was going to get a mechanic to fix the problem. She didn't even offer me a refund or another change to smack some balls. I was tempted to smack her head right off her neck.

THE PROS: all the arcade games were broken so you could use the "penny trick"

THE CONS: WAAAY Overpriced (1 dollar = 3 tokens) Batting cages suck. Prices for go-carts and bumper boats were ridiculous. DO NOT GO HERE unless you know how to do the "penny trick"

Ok so...I was going to write an extensive review for this place, but notice Chris C.'s review below. That sums up the experience.

I have to add a side note though...Don't even attempt to walk into this place if you are feeling slightly hung over, tired, abused, weak, annoyed, headachy, or in a really good mood...b/c it will bring you down and wear your out.  Oh and even though you are tempted, don't do it! Don't order the food... beware! beware! my bro and I let our greediness get the best of us. BAD idea.

I want to give this place 4 stars just for the sweet Go Karts alone, but I'm going to immediately take away two stars for the lame-o laser tag, depressing atmosphere, being surrounded by little high school wannabe gangster thugs, and the dreadful employees who clearly hated their jobs, and I'm going to go as far as saying most likely hated their lives.

The Go-Karts were definitely the highlight despite having to sit through the same spiel over and over again about not bumping or swerving and if you understand this, please raise your hand.  No one is raising their hands, you idiots, because you can't hear over the roar of the engines and repeating this 3+ times is not going to make a difference.  In the end, this spiel didn't even work since I was bumped a lot and even pushed off the track by some little punk ass kid.  Some worker had to come over and push me back onto the track as my ever so helpful boyfriend stood watching and laughing, haha!

Mini-golf was pretty fun as well, but my boyfriend and I chose the noticeably crappier course to play on (go for Storybook Land, not the western one).  However, if you wanna get in and out of there quick, play the western course because then you won't be behind a family of 8 whose kids are all under the age of 6 and have to watch them struggling to get the ball into the hole.

Only two of the vests for laser tag were working (and even those two didn't work very well), and as soon as my boyfriend and I got in to the inflated course, we wanted out.  It was stinky and there was broken glass on the floor and it was so small and dark it was impossible to run or anything.

The employees noticeably hated their jobs, but I guess I could understand, having worked at Chuck E. Cheese's for two years. They had one employee manning the entire area by the ferris wheel and running back and forth from ride to ride to let people on.

All in all, I'm glad I went there and even gladder I went there with a coupon since I would have hated to pay full price for that place.  It was a fun experience but only because I had my equally as fun boyfriend with me, and I'm glad I could have checked it off my bucket list.

Why am I giving a slightly dilapidated mini golf place/batting cage/go-kart arena 5 stars?

Two words:  Bumper Boats.

What?  Don't you remember the joy of bumper boats?  Like bumper cars, but for the aquatic set, bumper boats are small round vessels with huge rubber/plastic bumpers around them and little spouts that spray water viciously against your bumper-clad opponents.  They were the greatest things ever when I was seven.

Or twenty-one.  What?  I definitely made Boomer's my salvation for when I was an undergraduate at UCSD.  Overstressed from finals week?  Well then, at 2pm, grab a friend and drive down to the bumper boats, where you can sail around, and attack the stress away in a marine setting to your heart's content.  That's right. mmmm, sweet bumper boats.

I think it used to frighten the Boomer's Staff to watch adults in their early twenties attacking each other on these boats designed for children, but I didn't care.  I usually had four 15 page papers and 2 finals due, and what was more important at that moment was being able to spin lazily in a circle on a motorized little revolving innertube boat thing.

That's the one thing I miss about "growing up"  There's no real time to bumper boat it up anymore.

I miss ya, boomers.

I don't have kids yet and if I did, I might be able to give this place a higher rating. No, I went with my adult self and one other adult person, where we played a round of ghetto-style miniature golf (we later learned that we were on the crappy course and that another not crappy course does exist). We also played Pac Man and Ski Ball and waited in the go-cart line, where we inhaled carbon monoxide fumes for 45 minutes before spending five minutes in the actual go-cart.

My description of this place can really be summed by saying two things:

1. If you're trying to find runaway or delinquent adolescent children who've dropped out of high school and vanished from the face of the earth, look no further... they all work here.

2, I'm glad I went, because now I can say I did, but I don't ever need to go back.

The place is a little ghetto. The mini golf looks to have been built when Nick Faldo roamed the greens and Tiger Woods crapped his diapers. The video game room has seen its share of spilled drinks, meltdown tears and most likely over sugar induced puke ups...

But it serves its purpose and me and my two boys had a ball for about 30 bucks tonight. There are two separate 18 hole miniature golf courses. The green carpets don't have holes or anything and while the fake little houses ett are beat up the ambiance still works.

On site Boomers also has bumper boats, a ferris wheel, go karts, some basic rides and a decent sized arcade room. I did not check out the batting cages but I saw them on the way in and out and I can attest that balls to fly and people do swing at them.

Mini golf is a brilliant date. Period. There used to be another course in Mission Bay, but that is gone now. Boomers is all we have left as far as I know.

This place is alright, except:

-Last time I drove the go-karts, they stalled on me like three times.
-They need to get rid of the non-functioning games from the arcade.  Some of them ate my quarters.
-You could smell the gas emitting from the bumper boats.
-I think that both mini-golf courses needed some more maintenance.

The only reason to really come here is for the batting cages.  I mean, I know they have miniature golf, bumper boards, and an arcade.  But, being 33 now, if I played those, I'd probably feel like right after I'm done, I'd need to go home and study for my algebra test while my PE clothes get sewn with my initials by my mom!  Now, the batting cages are probably one of the better ways to let out some steam.  Some frustration from work that you don't want to take home.

If you're one of those rare 14-year-old Yelpers and you're reading this, then Boomers is the place for you!  Go there now!

I'm too impatient for mini golfing. I tend to just skip the "boring" holes and go for the "fun" ones.

However, this place does have carnival rides like the ferris wheel, swings, etc.  Problem is that the people who run the rides hvae no idea what they're doing.  We were a little bit nervous getting on the ferris wheel.  The go karts are so much fun though! Too bad I suck :(

Friday nights are family nights and you get to do everything (but batting cages) for $12. Such a good deal!

so for 16 dollars, I guess this place was alright
go karting was kinda slow, i wished it was faster
miniature golfing was fun! I PLACED SECOND! yay!
laser tagging didn't work when i went

BUMPER boats, so you know I didn't know that one button was for changing directions and one was for squirting, thus i drifted off to the isolated area because i didn't know YOU Can move the boat, WOW. omg how lame. but it was pretty fun.

the arcades were pretty fun, try playing the jump rope game, I could never get pass the second jump, sad sad.

OMG, they have pretzels and churros, two of my favorite foods! It made up for the non-working laser tagging! but yea, this place is JUST alright, no a place i'll go often to have fun.

Boomers is a chain so I've been to a few before moving to San Diego. This Boomers is not what I was hoping for when I passed it for years on the freeway on my way to work. I always thought that it would be fun to go. I was disappointed by the way the place is kept overall. The first time I went we played mini golf and played video games for fun and tickets. The mini golf course was falling apart. The whole place needs to be repainted and cleaned up. The video game area had at least half a dozen games that just ate your tokens and did nothing. There were also quite a few games out of order or out of tickets. Both times I went the slushy machine was out of order. The second time we went we used the children's mini golf course and it too was in need of some TLC. I also noticed a lot more violent games than I did before, because we were going with a small child. The place overall needs a new paint job, fix/replace all the broken machines, maybe reduce the number of violent games or move them all into one room away from the general public, and clean house.

Batting cages are good for working off excess energy and things like road rage, or breakup anger. Go Karts are just cool, reminds me of when driving was fun, not a necessary evil. The mini golf course here is pretty standard and cheesy (and probably older than many of the players). The usual arcade and snack bar inside. I had a bad experience on the bumper boats, so I don't ride those anymore.

If you want to play and feel like a kid again, or if you have some kids to tire out, you can't go wrong at Boomers.

More fun than a barrell of monkeys, Boomers a.k.a the Family Fun Center is dual fun for everyone.  The kids, as well as the adults, can play miniature golf, race on the miniature speedway, lose themselves in the arcade, bat til they drop or stuff themselves with pizza and other fun foods.  There's also other attractions at many of the sites, locations do vary, some feature rollercoasters and laser tag.  All in all, a fun-filled day at Boomer's will exhaust you, your kids as well as your wallet.  P.S. - Boomer's is a great place for birthday bashes and team parties.
