Review from Robert Y.
Fun place to go with a group of friends. This place offers some amusement park like rides, go kart racing, vast arcade, laser tag, batting cages, mini golf, and bumper boats. The go karts here are a bit better than the other locations as the track is fairly long and its actually possible to race each other. The laser tag here is kinda lame as the gun looks like a barcode scanner and the scoring system is kinda weird. Battling cages and mini golf are good activities for the more athletic. Bumper boats will get you soaked so I would recommend wearing shorts, taking off socks, and/or bringing an extra change of clothes. Go to the website to find coupons.
Bottomline: A good place and moderately expensive place to have fun. -

They really need to fix the lights. It is stupid hard to see at night. Plus the bricks are all uneven. Its not only hard to golf cuz they just kick sideways off it but its hella easy to trip. It is actually smaller than the one in Livermore it seems. They focus more on attractions making the arcade smaller I guess. Not a bad place but for an equal drive I think I'll head to Livermore.

With some time to kill, an associate of mine and I decided to drop in on the batting cages. It turned out to be more complicated than intended.
We started out by going to an unmanned counter to purchase a card that we could deposit money onto for the cages. Eventually we were met by a young lady, who informed us that they only had one large batting helmet. Sucks for me, because my sidekick was in front of the line and nabbed it. I crammed my over-sized melon into a medium, which wasn't pretty.
Heading over to the batting cages, I found that my card wouldn't get it started. I went back to the counter, where the girl reloaded my $5.... and once again the card wouldn't start the machine. A grizzled mechanic was eventually called out to inspect it, and by the time he got it working my partner had finished his $5 worth of balls.
On top of that, the cage I was given pitched super-fast baseballs. My skills aren't what they once were (or ever were), so I wasn't really able to hit any of them. So why don't I change the speed? Well, that didn't seem to be an option on the machine. I would have gone back to ask for help, but nobody seemed to know how anything worked around there.
Our quick 20 minute detour turned into an hour long pain in the ass. I don't usually frequent these places, but I certainly won't return. -

I've only been to Boomers once but it didn't go that well. It took a while to track someone down to purchase mini-golf. Their credit card machine was down so it was cash only. The arcade wasn't very busy and the air hockey table worked normally. They don't use quarters or tokens and you have to load a card, which is fine as long as it works, which it did. If I end up going back I'll re-review.

I'm kinda on the fence in giving this place 3 stars but more like 2.5 in my book. The golf course SUCKS! BIG TIME. Don't waste your money on the golf course. I do recommend the go carts for kids or adults. I didn't get a chance to check the lazer tag but it did look interesting to check out next time. the arcade well is an arcade. the ticket games are a rip off because for what they charge for tickets and to redeem for prizes definitely doesn't add up right. the food looked decent.

The boyfriend and I decided a little mini golf would be fun one fateful Saturday morning and thought Boomers would be a good place to go. We were SO wrong.
We waited in line to pay for said golf for almost 30 minutes and there were only 3 parties ahead of us. The employee who finally assisted us was very nice, but it didn't make up for the wait.
When he finally got onto the course it was sad and miserable. The water had been sucked out of the ponds and the machinery sat strewn about the course, hoses all over the place, and the holes were, for lack of a better word, lame. The turf was stained and worn, creating more obstacles than the holes themselves.
We will never, ever go back. It is really run-down and not worth it at all. -

I came here with my gf. We decided to come here because it is not a far drive and it is not pricey at all. We got the Fat Friday deal which is like $17ish for All day play including Go Carts, Mini Golf (2 courses), Bumper Boats, The Flamethrower, and Laser Tag. We obviously tried to stay as long as possible and get my moneys worth, but I got tired.
Go Carts: It is probably the thing that people look forward to the most. The carts are good and the track is of a descent length. However, even though it says "No Bumping", people do it.
Mini Golf: I did both courses. They are both relatively easy and nice. I wish they were a little more difficult.
Bumper Boats: This was quite fun. The boat also had like a water gun attached so you can spray people.
Flamethrower: The new "ride" here. It is a 2 person ride. You pretty much sit on it and control it yourself. By controlling it, you can make yourself spin, rotate, turn, stop, etc.
Laser Tag: Didn't play because that day wasn't crowded and it'd be awkward to play with only us. -

The employees don't seem to care at all about the guests experience. They are not at all friendly or helpful. And they are slooooooowww. We waited in line for over an hour to ride the go-carts one time. It was not super busy, they were just super slow. Golf course was run down and ugly. We will not be back.

I drove out to Modesto to visit one of my college friends today. I asked, "So what are we gonna do?" Her one word response:
BOOMERS!
We got there a little after one o'clock. Parking was super easy. We were probably the only people there over the age of 20 without kids, but who cares! It was a way to entertain the inner-child in us. There was a special deal where you buy a pass for $24.99 for unlimited mini golf, water bumper boats, go-carts, laser tag, rock climbing wall, and video games for the whole day, so we went with that. We later learned that it was a super good deal considering it costs about 5-8 bucks to do each of those activities once. Also, if you buy a pass, you can choose any one of their special lunch deals for 5 bucks.
Mini golf is super fun despite my lack of skill for the silly sport. haha I think I went triple bogey on all the holes, which made for a long game, but again, it was fun. Challenging holes with the crazy dips and twists and the infamous windmill. Super fun.
Water bumper boats. PREPARE TO GET COMPLETELY SOAKED! The boats have built in water guns, so don't get in line if you refuse to get wet. Or if you must ride, stay in a little corner away from the bumper boat crowd. Again, so much fun despite having to wear damp clothes for the rest of the day.
Laser tag. 5 minute rounds. My friend and I were in a round with a bunch of little kids. I turned to my friend and said, "Watch. These little pipsqueaks will peg me so bad." And I was right! Every 10 seconds, my vest would go, "Whomp Whomp Whomp" and take another 5 seconds to recharge. Little kids = 10,580. Grace = 2,210.
Lunch. My friend both chose the cheeseburger with fries and a coke. They weren't that great, but it was enough to sustain us until dinner. It was kind of what I had expected for 5 bucks anyways.
Go-carts. So much fun! There's something about them that even after years of getting your driver's license, they're still so much fun. I think it's the ability to go full throttle around those sharp turns, which is something I can never do in my car.
Video games. Decent selection, though a little outdated. Played air hockey, DDR, Cruisin World, Guitar Hero, and The Lost World Jurassic Park about 3-4 times each. Definitely got our money's worth here.
Overall, a pretty good facility and reasonably priced. Lines weren't that long for a holiday weekend. I would suggest making cubby holes for each of the attractions because I had to get creative as to where to hide my purse in the entrances.
Bottom line: If you're in Modesto and you're looking for a day's worth of kiddie fun with family or friends, this is a must! -

Customer service is terrible. 6 employees at a counter & only 1 helping guests. Problems with attractions not working so unlimited pass is limited. Foods not the best but not the worst either. I wouldn't come here to have another birthday party.

Boomers is a great place, in general.
Going on a Tuesday or Wednesday is AWESOME because there's unlimited play on video games, but only the ones that don't give tickets...and that's for the low price of $12!
If you add $10 to that charge, you get unlimited Thunder Road Go Karts, Lazer Tag, Splash Island Bumper Boats, Rock Wall, Miniature Golf and Rookie Raceway.
there are lots of other great deals at boomers, but this is my favorite.
my only problem with the place: prices on food, no unlimited batting cages, and it can get pricey if you don't/can't use any of their deals. -

HECK YES! Go karts, go karts... GO KARTS! I understand that I'm a grown woman in my early twenties, but darn! I love a good ride on the go karts and the feeling of racing with other kids... it brought tears to my eyes. *tear*
Anyways, this is a really fun place. No lie! It's cheap unlike any other amusement parks, there's always parking, and who could not turn down... LASER TAG?!
Yep. I like it, especially when you have a big group of friends to tag along with you. Don't like it? Big woop... no fun! How about we settle at Tekken 5, eh? -

So I went to Boomers yesterday, it is a really cool place. Arcades, rock climbing, gokart racing, golf, laser tag, defiantly something that you can't regularly do in the valley. Anyways the prices are really fair (i think) I paid 22$ for unlimited arcade games (Which include time crisis and DDR hehe :D) and also unlimited riding on the gokarts, laser tag, etc.
The only thing that I encountered that I didn't like was when me and my friends were on the gokarts. Two of them (my friends) ended up crashing somehow and they were trying to wave the guy down for help but he was busy talking to his coworker, so I doubt he saw them actual crash. So anyways we waited like 5 mins for the guy to finally notice and in the end he gave my friends an X on their wrist bands (A warning, meaning if they get it again they get kicked out or something) AND I'm pretty sure the guy didn't even see how the crash went down. So we went to talk to the manager and the guy was acting like he saw it calling it reckless driving and crap but he wasn't even paying attention. Total bullshit.
So thats why the low score. But I mean it really is a fun place to hang out for a day. -

I came here to Boomer's as a close friend to a family who's son was celebrating his ninth birthday. As an adult watching the kids have fun, you could tell that this is one of those cool spots to go to for a birthday party. The arcade is pretty big and you have the choice of miniture golf, batting cages, go-karts, boats, or rock climbing. For $22 your little ones have unlimited access to all those things.
As an adult watching all this, the staff I encountered were really polite, accomodating and friendly. We had a reserved table in one of the party rooms and the pizza, despite it being pre-made and frozen wasn't too bad.
My only gripe were some of the rude teenagers we encontered, but hey for Modesto, you get what you get! -

There's definitely a lack of fun places to take kids in the valley. When Golfland closed down in Stockton, I was really sad, having remembered all of the great memories of playing there when I was younger. Boomer's is like a new and improved Golfland.
We took a group of four pre-teen boys and they had a blast! I don't know how many times we rode on the go-karts.
This is an awesome place! -

Was drawn in by their ten-buck Tuesday advertisement, but upon arriving, the fine print said only unlimited video games. To get unlimited go-carts, mini golf, rock climbing, laser tag, bumper boats and the venturer ride, you need to add $8.00. So I shelled out the $18.00 per person.
There were a few reasons I liked this smaller amusement park better than larger amusement parks.
1) Parking: there was no difficulty finding parking and no fee charged either.
2) Admission: parents, guardian, or spectators need not pay admission to gain entrance. You can watch your children without having to pay an outrageous admission fee.
3) Seating: tables and chairs were always available, and the majority of them were in locations that you could directly view the kids in line.
4) Shade: Every table had some shade, whether it was an umbrella, canopy or tree.
5) Concessions: A large pizza=$13.99. Refillable soda=$4.99 for the cup and drink, then $0.99 for each refill. Although they didn't have any salads, you could always run down to the fast food restaurants around the corner and pick up much cheaper food. We did this for dinner and it was much cheaper/better than ordering pizzas again.
Other info:
-They currently have a summer night promotion going on that costs $10.00 for the unlimited rides after 5pm. The wait times nearly doubled from after 5pm.
-Batting cages always cost extra no matter which package you buy.
-The go-cart racing is the most popular, so if you are there before 5pm, ride those first.
-They also have a smaller race track for younger kids and an outdoor play structure. Other than that, the majority of attractions are geared towards 10 years and up. -

I've been coming here since I was little. I remember in elementary school they used to give out free tokens for academic excellence which is why I would come here. My grad sober night was also held here which they gave out cameras, iPods, etc.
Well I came here recently with my boyfriend to play the arcade and mini golf. We've been to the one in Redwood City because that's the closest one to San Francisco called Malibu. Boomer's is pretty much the same as the other mini golf courses. It has go carts, rock climbing, a mini water park, a concession area, aracade, laser tagging and of course a mini golf. Last time I remembered you used to pay on which activity you wanted to do but now they have points or even a 4 hour time limit for different activities. We got the 100 points for $25 and there was a card fee which was $1. I believe it was 24 points for each person for mini golf and the rest we used for the aracde. They didn't have a lot of aracde games but I was happy that they had the Deal or No Deal because that's my favorite game. Tell me why I won 200 tickets though. Haha. Anyways, it's a fun place for any age. -

Although this place is at least an hours drive from where i live, i will still continue to make the trip down here when I have the time because of five simple reasons.
5) Its cheaper than other amusement parks
4) Parking is easy, you can always find a spot
3) They actually have that game that I thought died out years ago.. LAZER TAG!
2) Rock Climbing, GoKarts, Mini Golf, and BumperBoats.. all ONE PRICE!
1) OMFG its so much cheaper than going to an amusement park twice the price but only half the fun. -

Mini golf is fun, there are two different courses to choose from. We chose the 100 points for $25. It was 27 points for a round of golf, and we used the rest for video games. A fun place to kill so time!

I soooo liked this place better when it was Camelot Park. I think it got lame once boomers took over. I went here recently and spent $100 in the arcade and walked out with 3 plastic fake nerf guns and 10 pieces of candy. That'll teach me to look at the prize spot before I play games and get 400 tickets!!! UGH!

A great place to hang out when you just need something to do. They have things from go-karts to bumper boats to any video game you can think of. The only complaint I have is the price to do things. When a single round of golf costs $9 you're better off sticking to one of their unlimited attractions/video games specials available at different prices depending on the day of the week. It's even a great place to spend your summer when you have nothing to do. They offer a 90 day premium season pass good for 4 hours of unlimited video games, attractions, and batting cages at $69.99. They also offer a basic pass good for 4 hours of unlimited video games Sunday to friday. Ultimately this is a great place to be when you have nothing to do, just make sure you don't overpay by going with one of their unlimited deals.

this place reminds me of something that use to be great in the 80's, perhaps. i'm sure as a kid, i would've loved this place, pending, i was big enough to rock climb, mini golf, go kart, laser tag, and go to the batting cages.
they had an all you can play arcade card that costs about $12, but the thing is that the games are pretty out of date and the shooting games are not calibrated. other video games don't even have sound which takes away from the experience of playing those cool games when we were growing up.
they had a rock climbing wall with a few different paths. that was actually pretty fun. it's outdoors, so make sure you dress appropriately. the coolest thing about this is that the belaying system is that it's hydraulic. when you reach the top, you can just jump off and repel like SWAT. that was pretty cool.
the go karts were fun, as well. except that i got the lame kart. low top speed. slow acceleration.
the "cafeteria" type section they have that sells junk food is what you would expect when you see it. they don't give refills. well... i take that back. they do, but you gotta pay $2.46 for it. all the prices for food there are redonkulous. $8 (rounded up) for a chicken fingers meal? $6 for a personal pizza? eat beforehand, or tough it out and go to the olive garden afterwards or something.
didn't get a chance to hit the batting cages, play laser tag or the mini golf... maybe next time. that seems more worthwhile than spending all of your time in the relatively small arcade and cafeteria.
if you have kids, it's a good place to have a birthday party. i just find it kind of funny because when you look at the employees, none of them look like they want to be there.
but this place did give me a new addiction... the flamin finger. i'm beginning to have a love/hate relationship with that game. not sure what it is? click this link: http://youtube.com/wat...

What a horrible place. I went here with my little brother ..i love a little kid moment playing arcade games every now and then. They actually have an original ms. pacman game. However, 3 games we tried ate our points and did not work. When I tried to ask two teenage workers on the floor they ignored me. When I finally went and complained the cashier said, sorry we are short-staffed. Short-staffed? Do you know how many pimple-faced 15 year-old staffers I saw walking around that place doing absolutely nothing?!! Can you at least put up some "Out of Order" signs'??? The gocarts are lame..get ready to stand in line for an hour..because the staff is so slow. I didn't try their golf course..so I cannot evaluate that, but I will probably never go back because it seems so poorly managed.

If you're looking for a good to great time for a reasonable price, this is the place to be. Boomers has it all...depending on which one you're going. This particular boomers has a large arcade for those who just in love with the virtual reality. If you are more of the outdoors type of person, they have the rock climbing, batting cages, go karts for adults and little kids, mini golf and bumper boats. Their laser tag arena isn't big, but it's still one of the best things to do here. As a matter of fact, for only $20 or $10 on certain days, you can play most of these attractions as many times as you want. In many ways it's better than Great America or Marine World/Six Flags. For one, you don't really have to wait hours waiting in line and secondly, it's a lot cheaper. If you have kids, this is a much better place than Chuck E. Cheese, more things to do and you don't have to pay to get in. There's so much to do here that you can actually spend the whole day with family and/or friends. Great place for a great price. GOOD DEAL!!!
