BOOMERS ... I have never been there until yesterday, July 31, 2009, from 12:30-5PM. Where to begin? Last week, I made a reservation online for a birthday package, a party of eight, for my 14 yr old cousin. And all the little ones were very excited to go, and the location was super easy to find!

Upon arriving yesterday, we checked in, which was not a fairly long process but customer service wasn't as friendly as I expected. And noticeably, the venue is fairly small, and looks like a mini amusement park.

Since we booked the birthday package, it really made our time at Boomers worthwhile! The birthday package, which is a great deal, costs $17.99 per person, and includes unlimited access to laser tag, miniature golf, go karts, bumper boats, and 24 points towards video games. It also includes one hour duration of lunch, which comes with two slices of pizza, a cup of soda, and two buckets of popcorn. And an awesome perk: if you're a student and earn A's and B's, bring in your report card, and you will be able to get points towards any arcade games.

With that being said, we had a chance to check out the bumper boats, go karts, laser tag, play video games, and eat (and the pizza was delicious)! We also added some perks to our birthday package, which was a play card for two hours of video games for just $2 per person.

Overall, we were at Boomers for just four and a half hours, and it cost a total of $170 total for eight people. But we all had a lot of fun, ate good food, and the little ones also won about 3000 tickets, and got some really nice prizes! And the customer service staff was really helpful and kind, except for one person.

Anyway, I would recommend Boomers to those who want to spend time with their family, kids, relatives, or little ones ... for a birthday party or event! You are guaranteed to have a good time with the birthday package ... unlimited access to laser tag, go karts, bumper boats, and miniature golf ... food and drinks! A great deal and so much fun!

My grown-up friends and I decided this would be an awesome place to hang out. Frankly, I thought it was.

I like how there is mini-golf, laser tag, go cart and arcades at Boomers. I don't care for mini-golf because I don't have the patience. I'll probably get frustrated and start screaming with my golf club. I really wanted to try laser tag but all my friends favored the go-cart, so we went racing instead.

Some of the go cart cars are really slow, particularly the ones near the end. My friends passed me up on the track, I saw one of them looking at me with their hands behind their head like "hum dee dum dum". I tried gassing but I couldn't even drive at the same speed, my car was too slow. Yes, it really did just feel like I was riding on a slow lawn mower.

The arcade was fun even though there isn't a lot of games but there were games that are different. I love the dinosaur games, the one where you point to the location you want to go and you shoot the creatures.

The food wasn't bad, but definitely a little pricey. A price to pay when you come here hungry. I ate the nachos--it was very cheesy and I recommend putting pickled jalapenos on it for a kick.

After reading the horrible reviews, I got scared to write a 4 star review. But I truly had a great time being a kid again at Boomers and I wanted to let the world to know that Boomers ain't that bad!

Date: April 25, 2009, 4-9:30 PM
Occasion: Family day with my family and Boyfriend's family
Venue:  Small amusement park.
Social Scene:  A little rough. Ghetto-ish.

HIghlights:
1. Race car to bring out the Indy driver in you.
2. Miniature golf to bring out the Tiger in your little nephew.
3. Laser tag to pretend to be one of Bond's hot girlfriends.
4. Virtual motorcyle to go cruisin in Hawaii, Florida, etc.
5.  Bumper boats
6. Shoot the zombie video game to let out that pent up aggression.
7. More and more violent video games.

All of the above for a group rate of $15 per person, access to all the video games, laser tag, golf, race cars, bumper boats, etc  for 4 hours.
$25.00 for non-group rate.

We bought the 4 hour pass for all the kids and ended up buying more for us the adults.

For 4 WONDERFUL hours:

1.  The parents vegged out and let their kids run wild.
2.  I ran around with my brother and sister and my little nephews/niece shooting each other with Laser Tags.
3.  Boyfriend and I played the motorcyle video game and air hockey.
4. The kiddies played miniature golf.
5. The bigger kids did few laps on the racer car.
6. The medium-sized kiddies got themselves wet and crazy on the bumper boats.

The place was clean.  The pizza was good.  The kids passed out. The parents relaxed. We all went home happy.

Note: This place does not have a security system to monitor kids'  going in and out of the park unlike Chuck E Cheese.  You have to know where your kids are at all times.

No, not the Left 4 Dead zombie... but much like the fat zombie that spews its own vomit on you, I've felt like I've got thrown up on after I left this place. Hell, I might take my chances with the zombie (okay, I might be exaggerating.)

We went here for my friend's birthday... my friend's 28th birthday. Hey, he had an urge for go karts and laser tag. Don't judge! Anyways, when arriving, I noticed those speed bumps being unusually bumpier (higher?) than most speed bumps. Whatever.

We go inside to buy the tickets and immediately we go for the go-karts. It wasn't much of a line since I believe we got there before noon... or 1pm... not so sure. So our group finally gets a chance to get in go-karts and as we're inside, one of the go-karts from the previous run, instead of stopping in its own lane, gets up in our lane and CRASHES right into the birthday boy. Here's this six-year-old... could be older, but she definitely looked that young... in a SOLO kart, without any parents around, driving full force into my friend. Where's the parental guidance? And how come she didn't get kicked out of the park?

So, the go karts themselves are okay. Personally, I don't like them because of the copious amounts of exhaust and gas fumes, but it was for my friend so I dealt with it. I think this caused me to get extremely burned after the day was over since it was outside, despite the use of sunscreen.

Before we went for laser tag battle, we tried to get something to eat. Oh yeah, if you have a chance, do NOT buy food from here, especially on weekends. I was in line for some chicken strips and I noticed my friend had all ready bought something. She told me she was waiting for about five to ten minutes and all she ordered was a churro.

Let me repeat that: she was waiting for at least ten minutes, and eventually 20-25 minutes... FOR A FUCKING CHURRO! A churro that was very unsatisfying, according to her. So I got out of line and luckilly, a couple of friends decided to go to a fast food place nearby and I got them to order something for me. I think the guys came either slightly before or slightly after my friends who ordered food from Boomers got theirs.

Now I don't blame the people who were on staff there. However, I do blame management for completely understaffing the place on a weekend. There were three employees staffed behind the counter and at least fifty people either waiting in line or waiting for food, and constantly bitching to them about their food. I really hate parents... it's all about them and their kids, and they don't realize the big picture because they're too short sighted. I digress.

We went to play laser tag. I suck, so whatever. The first time we went around, it wasn't that bad. But the second, mine and two other friends' gun and vest were not working. Our gun wasn't keeping score, and it also allowed others to score off of us. So we went to the people during the game to tell them they weren't working. All they did was apologize... no new vests... no nothing. We wasted all that time waiting in line, and our passes were for four hours of unlimited go-kart, mini golf and laser tag. We did not get compensated for their faulty equipment. My friend did get to bash someone with her gun because some asshole kid did it to her first, so that was funny seeing some asshole kid whine about getting hit when his tricks were being played on him.

The arcades there are really outdated. Sure, there's some fun ones there, but they were too expensive. I'm not putting down a dollar or even fifty cents on those games.

So to sum it all up, I cannot give this place more than one star. I would have given them two stars for at least having go-karts and laser tag, but their shit just doesn't work. And when the ratio of snotty kids and pretentious parents to competent, logical adults (and children,) are highly leaning toward the stupid people, you know it's just destined for failure. If you're a parent and want to keep your child occupied, and if you care about your child in the slightest, you wouldn't come here. There has to be better alternatives to this place, like... I don't know... the Park!

When our kids were younger, we went here several times for
family fun time.

The goal of the visits were to play some miniature golf and
it's pretty inexpensive fun.
I think their little golf courses are creative and kept in good shape.

Boomers runs parallel to Hwy 580 and it gets pretty noisy and it
can be challenging to hear family and friends chatting while on
the cool mini greens.

Yet, all in all, good fun.

When our younger nieces and nephews visit, this is a hot spot.
Guaranteed fun will be had by all.

They also have a go cart track, which people seem to enjoy.

The arcade part of Boomers hosts an array of typical arcade games.

As a mom, I get very concerned though. There are kids of all ages
at Boomers...we're all kids to somebody, right?

The parent/child ratio
just
doesn't
add
up.

During a visit there last summer, there were only a few parents in
the arcade, yet hundreds of kids and many of them very young.
The young kids were clearly alone with a friend or two.

It is important for parents to know that some bully teens were there
during that visit,. They even tried bullying our group, which included
three adults.

Those bullies pestered the young kids in the arcade, which is
absolutely not appropriate and scary as well.

A couple times, I stepped in when 5-6 year old little kids were being
bullied and pushed out of the way at the token machines.
Guess that is the mom in me, yet the little ones were appreciative
that I stepped in and shooed the meanies away.

I searched the arcade for a manager, yet did not see an adult on
duty; all teenage employees and very few of them.

I really think parents need to accompany their younger kiddos here.
If they saw and experienced what we did, they'd understand.

This place is just awful.  The lines were incredibly long, the food service took forever, employees could care less, and the clientele were rough, and out of control.  there were kids running around without parents in sight snatching golf balls from the mini golf area, and customers in the food line getting into arguments due to the long wait. food is bad and EXPENSIVE.  Very ghetto crowd.

Took my son and his friend here this past Saturday. They got the 4 hour pass, $26 for unlimited go carts, bumper boats, mini golf, and laser tag. Arcade is NOT included. Of course boys can't skip this part, so there goes another $20 per kid. Sure.... on our way out I saw a sign that said $12 unlimited arcade. ok ok, NEXT time. You're here for 4 hours, with two teenagers, you have to feed them. $20 for a large pepperoni pizza, $4 for a medium soda. The boys had an awesome time!! I got an awesome sunburn. What are ya gonna do? ...I must say, I did leave feeling like "we could have went to Marine World". Then again that would have meant driving all the way to Vallejo, paying for bridge toll, parking, fighting large crowds of people. Humm.... Boomers is awesome!

Have been here several times, the last time thank goodness it wasn't as packed. The food isn't very good and is pricey. The rides/games can get expensive as well, so make sure you get the passes they have available for the rides and for the arcade, it will save a lot of money. The staff/crowd is friendly and no drama. There's plenty of parking. Besides the arcade there's bumper boats-that shoot water, min. golf, go carts, laser tag. It's a fun time to be had by all, my son and I couldn't stop playing games.

My aunt: Would you take your cousin to Boomers in Livermore for her birthday?

Me: We're going in the opposite direction of SF for fun???

To put this place in the form of a SAT analogy question:

Unemployment : prison w/o assraping :: Boomers : ?

? = prison w/o assraping

This place is a total ripoff! All of the arcade games require 4 or more tokens, where $1=3 tokens, $5=18 tokens, $10=42 tokens, $20 =120 tokens. Note the marketing geniuses aka kid ripoffers that require you to spend more than a buck to play a single game!

My cousin and three of her friends got the half day unlimited pass for $25.99 (open until 5pm or 5pm until closing). The other option is the full day unlimited for $27.99 plus a "free" hamburger. For this you get mini golf, go karts (require closed toe shoes!), bumper boats, and laser tag. Seriously after just playing three of these exhibits, they were bored and were ready to play some arcade instead.

The "food" here is a ripoff too and probably borderline inedible. I'm talking $8 for chicken strips and a drink or $7 or hamburger and a drink for $6. An entire pepperoni pizza from Freschetta cost $18! We went to Costco instead for an entire pizza and smoothies instead and our total there came out to be less than $20 total. The other alternative is Wendy's by the freeway onramp.

We ended up playing Wii back at home instead.

Suggestion: For a cheaper experience w/o assraping, look elsewhere.

Unless you have the sudden urge to kart race, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

The arcade and ticket games games - rip-off. The ticket games spit out one ticket, and you need 20 to earn a tootsie roll.

I see a lot of reviews saying avoid this place, but for what it is, I find it to be a fun place. It is on the expensive side, but as long as you're not going here every week, it's not all that bad on the wallet.

I took my niece and nephew there a couple times and they had a blast. The arcade is not all that big, but it works. The golfing is always fun (especially for the golf challenged like me) and the karting is rather elementary, but it still can be a lot of fun for the younger crowd.

Update:
I went back to Boomers today and nicely explained the situation of last night to the MOD. He was quite nice, and comp'ed today's visit, without harassment. For that I raise to 3 stars. Had Boomer's still had the $10 M-TH like last year, I would give them 5.I understand the gas prices etc., but there are so many people here, that surely they would still make $$ off $15 weekdays?

My daughter wrote the following experience..

Arrrghh, I hate boomers!!!!!!! I waited 1 HOUR for a go-cart ride, so when we got in they said "after this ride you will not come back to the line" 20$$$$$$ For unlimited rides. Well one ride does NOT count!!!!!
And I am supposed to go tomorrow... I THINK NOT!
Me..
To pay $20 bucks for one ride is atrocious! I will be down there to complain and ask for a comp.

Came here last Monday, (7/21/08) with my boyfriend and his son.  .  I always saw it off the freeway on the way to Livermore, and had always heard about it, but never actually got to see it...  Why did I take my camera out of my bag just today...  I would have loved to have gotten pictures of us mini golfing and the boys riding the go-karts.  I got what I could with my cell, but it's just not the same.

So, we came here cuz he had his son for the week, and it was an alright day...  His son loves the go-karts, and did alright playing mini golf.  Even his father's and my hole in one didn't help us out any.  The little one still beat us.    Food wise was okay, it was just basically a snack for him even though we had a good dim sum lunch I had brought all the way from the Sunset District... (You San Franciscans will know where that is)  Mini golf was okay, but I think overall the place can use a little upgrading.  But for kids, they seemed to have fun.  Maybe next time we go back, I'll remember my camera...

Went here on Friday night. I think I found the most ghetto place to hang out. All the kids that work there seem to not give a crap. The only helpful girl there was the girl that sold us our mini golf games. The games are stupid expensive, constantly out of tickets, or simply out of order.

The go-karts give me a headache and backache and the mini golf course is in desperate need of remodeling. The food is also super expensive and not good.

Not worth the money.

So, I had a hard time giving this a real rating.  I've had good experiences here, and I've had horrible experiences here.  Most recently, I've had a bad experience.  Now, I understand that sometimes it sucks to be stuck hanging around snot covered little kids, punk preteens, and their psycho parents, But give be a break!  Just because the person 5 people in front of me in line was a horrible human being, and called your customer service skills into question, doesn't me that you need to treat the rest of us like we're out to get you!

Most of the time when i go, at least 5 of the machines are broken, and the lines for go karts are hideous.  And twice, I've been kicked off the course, because whoever's in charge of watching the karts, isn't actually watching.  When some punk kid rear ended me and flipped my kart around, they kicked me off.

This review is based on a weekend visit. It was purely horrific. The game room was pretty much standing room only-hot and sweaty and I swear the floor was sticky. The line for mini golf was yards and yards long AND there was no way we would get a kart before closing time.

The crowd was a mix of sugared up kiddos and some serious ghetto looking folk.

Of course my kiddos loved it.

We might check it out again on a weekday if I ever get rid of this headache.

It's like there's so much to do, but then not.

Came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon for a bday party. Go karting and golfing were out of the question due to weather, leaving the arcade and lazer tag.

It's not a huge a place and there isn't much selection as far as games go. I didn't go into lazer tag myself, but I doubt it's big.

Pizza was meh. Anyhow, this place is just so-so.

boomers seems to have gone downhill, but it actually started downhill when it opened. on my last visit, there was less than desirable clientele there. i was actually concerned for many of the young children running around the place. nothing happened, but its not the sort of place where you can't take your eyes off of your child for a second. the prices are too high for not too much to do and not too much time to do it in. the speedway is always full of punks you never want to see behind the wheel of a real car and for what you pay it's not worth the time. the bumper boats are ALWAYS closed anytime i ever went and it really doesn't look too appealing anyway. the miniature golf course is one of the worst i have ever seen and i won't be playing this course again. golfland in castro valley is the ultimate spot for me!

i just wish they had more arcades out there with better games and a better crowd to hang out with. well the 80's are over so i guess i'll just have to deal with it.

I recently went back to Boomers for the first time since the name was changed from Camelot Park.  In high school we used to come to race the go karts..

Not much seems to have changed here, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I had tons of fun playing mini golf for the first time in years, and actually beating my boyfriend by one stroke.

The go-karts are always fun, but I thought it was a little lame that when my car died in the second to last race they were running that night they wouldn't let my boyfriend race in the last race with me.. They offered me a ticket good for a return visit, but seeing as how there were plenty of available cars it would have been better customer service to just let him drive again.

If you want to have a little wholesome fun, this place can be a great time.. I don't know if the regular price is worth it (we have an entertainment book coupon good for 2-for-1 pricing), but they have Tuesday and Wednesday night unlimited deals for something like $10.

this place is run down and needs a serious remodeling job. too small for the crowds that it gets and the courses themselves are not interesting - short, flat and very worn down.

I took my daughter here today.  We had a fun time, but a few annoyances that we had were the machines eating tokens, and/or no tickets coming out after we played a game..  Other than that the line to buy tickets for the go-carts was about 45 minutes however maybe 30 people long... I dont know seems to me like they could have sped it up a little but who am I to say..  I will go back because the go-carts are oh so fun, and I love skee ball..

This place has the potential to be awesome, but when we went, it sucked.  It was the weekend, and it was packed out.  Not only was it packed, but it was packed with a combination of little kids running wild with no adult supervision and sketchy pseudo (or actual) thugs.  Not good times.  Many of the machines were broken, and by "many" I mean a good 30-40% had at least some issue.  The customer service was appallingly bad.  The counters were either unstaffed (I was about 10 seconds away from stealing a gatorade as I had waited for so long at one counter after being assured that someone would be "right with me") or staffed with people who are either reallllllly stupid or realllllllly apathetic.  Possibly both.  I would give this place one star, but the possibility that it could rock with better customer service and less sketchy clientele cannot be denied.  Lots of fun video games, lazer tag, miniature golf, go karts-- it's easy to imagine the potential for fun.  My advice is to avoid this place on the weekends.  Or better yet-- go to Dave & Buster's instead.
