Not a bad place to stop in for a burger and waffle fries. Setup like the old fifties driveup burger places where they serve you at your car window (also seating inside).
I ordered a boomer burger and tried the waffle fries also. The burger comes with tomatoes, lettuce, and special sauce. I thought the burger was good including the tasty bun. The service was pretty good too.
They also offer a gaucamole burger which sounds pretty good. I might try that one next time.

Just went up to the 'ham to visit with some college friends and eat almighty Boomer's burgers!!! I used to frequent this place often to get my burger fix - especially during the anniversary sale. Excellent no-nonsense burgers with the right ratio of meat to bun to sauce to extras. Plus glorious waffle fries, perfectly seasoned. Top it all off with a hard ice cream shake (I prefer mocha or blackberry) and you have yourself the perfect meal. Go to Boomer's!!! RIGHT NOW!
oh hells yes. Boomer's is up there with Dick's and In-n-out. So if you like In-n-out and Dick's all the time--you might be a dirty ho or you might be someone who loves Boomer's.
I dream of Boomer's burgers.
My husband went to school at WWU for two years and introduced me to them. A-mazing! I heart the Mushroom-Swiss burger and peanut butter shake.
We rarely go up to Bellingham nowadays, but when we do - we always go there. Going to Vancouver, BC? Make a pit-stop!
Burger, waffle fries, blackberry milkshake. I hate myself afterwards, but its so worth it!
If you want a giant, sloppy, and all-around fantastic burger, this is your heaven. This place has been here forever and is a gret place for local flavor.
If only they delivered! :)
I don't eat burgers often because I am a vegetarian. I am in search of a good veggie burger though I am almost certain none exist. I did try the one they offer and like all the others that came before, it was "meh." I honestly can't say I remember if their shakes were any good. I know I got one and it must have also just been okay because it was not memorable. The atmosphere is based on the 50's diner and its a neat environment.
I would've given them a meager three stars if it weren't for their exceptional waffle fries. Their other food leaves much to be desired. The fries set the bar high for the rest of their menu items. They sell my third favorite fry of all-time. They are crunchy and golden and delicious! The fries alone bumped up their rating by one star.
I absolutely LOVE Boomer's!! The burgers, the waffle fries, the shakes....man oh man, they do it just right. Back in my WWU days, I would immediately call them when I got out of class (647-BOOM, yes I did have it memorized) and pick up my meal on my way home. Now that I'm in Seattle I don't get the chance to eat there as often as I dream and crave. I try to bum burgers off my friends that head up there to visit, but nobody has brought my one back. Maybe because that'll be gross, but man I am desperate for that deliciousness. I haven't found another burger place that compares to it's yumminess, not even Red Mill (uh oh, the Seattle-lites may hunt me down for that one).
In short, go to Boomer's. It is an absolute must when up north.
MMMMMMMmmmmmm.....
Mushroom Swiss Burger, here I come...!!
I ordered this a couple days ago, and it's soo good, I forgot how good it was when I took the first bite... MMmmmm... :) Soo good...
They also serve waffle fries and delicious milkshakes! :) Service is also nice and friendly. Chill atmosphere with a fireplace table in the very center of the restaurant.
One of the better burger places to try out! :)
If you are in the mood for a burger type meal, this is the place to go. Especially in the summer. There are no surprsies here but every thing is usually cooked well and the fries are great. There are options for every kind of eater here.
This was the first place I ate at when we moved to Bellingham. After 5 years, we are still pleased as ever with the food and service.
Waffle Fries, oh how I love waffle fries.
Great Selection of burgers. They alse have curly fries, halibut and chips, deep fried mushrooms and great milkshakes (we get mint chocolate chip shakes, yum!)
In the winter, they have a gas fireplace going inside.
Convenient to call in your orders and pick them up at the drive in. They also have a punch card for burgers.
Boomers is great if you want to get a quick burger. Their prices are very reasonable, the burgers are big and pretty good, the experience is sort of fun. They also have specials sometimes where all burgers are 2.69!! eep.
I sort of love the idea of a carhop, so this place really worked for me. Plus, they had a good chocolate shake.

I'm a old broad who remembers the old drive-ins; this place brings back many incredible memories. As for the food, it's nice and cheap. Go for the milkshakes, they're awesome. The burgers are okay, but only because of all the goodies they put on them; the patty itself leaves much to be desired. If you want a really good burger, with top Angus beef, and don't mind the cost, go to Red Robin. If you want a cheap burger, then Boomer's is the cheapest you're gonna find anywhere. I'm not a french fry fan, so I can't help you here. However, the onion rings ROCK.
Great burgers and milk shakes. I also love the big gas fire in the middle of the restaurant. My only complaint is the shredded lettuce on their burgers.
647-BOOM !!!
This place has yummy milkshakes

Not a bad burger place at all. But then again, the only time I would eat at Boomer's is when they have their anniversary sale and all the burgers are $2.69.
I've tried both chicken and beef burgers, and they weren't great, but they were good.
The 50's atmosphere doesn't appeal to me all to much, but it's what makes it pretty unique.
I have an orgasm when I walk into that place.
Always great burgers and they are pretty fast. Must haves: milkshake and waffel fries!
Boomer's is great local staple. I think they just celebrated their 20th or 25th anniversary or something. Each year around the time of the anniversary, for about a month very burger on the menu is 2.69 (used to be 2.49). They have a lot of burgers, and they are GOOD! Definitely worth visiting if you have never been here.
Some of the best burgers in Bellingham, with equally awesome ice cream milkshakes.
I would never go here again. Cheap food, poor customer service, and their milkshakes aren't anything to rave for. (mine was half way melted AND I ate inside). Although the appeal to this place is the drive in .. don't waste your time!
Boomer's Drive in has some of the very best food for the price anywhere. I can feed my family of three, with a large milkshake to share, for 16 bucks. The staff is always friendly, clean and fast. Last week i phoned in an order on Saturday night at 7 pm and it was ready in 10 minutes. Good all around business.
