Not much else to add, best place in this city to buy a good quality vintage suit. If you have gone to Boomerang one too many times and hate the reruns store because they are way too over priced your only other options are reruns warehouse (Only open for 6 hrs on Saturdays) or my personal second favorite:

Vintage Vogue Apparel in Independence MO

The lady that runs this joint knows her stuff and is quick to make a deal!

Great vintage in KC. Low prices, as vintage goes. They separate by decade so stuff is easy to find. Also have some great hats, sweaters, under-apparel.

As a tween, I used to stop here every other day with my best friend's after school. We would try on EVERYTHING from sequined seventies jumpsuits to fifties poodle skirts - any period, any fashion - it's all there.

The dressing rooms are grungy, yes. BUT this is a small price to pay for the selection. The pricing is neither cheap nor excessive but the owners, as quirky as they are, do not like to haggle...so don't try!

Years later, I usually make a stop before every Halloween. The costume ideas here are so endless that its guaranteed your costume will not be easily duplicated as opposed to picking up a cat costume in one of those plastic bags that any one of three people will be wearing at the party that night.

Boomerang's also has a great collection of costume jewelry, and I definitely went through that phase in high school, so I always picked around their sale basket of eighty or so little plastic baggies of clip-on earrings placed on top of the check out counter.

The guys section is also well worth it to look through...I have purchased some great t-shirts and jackets there (which is the mark of a pretty good store, when its clothing is almost unisex in some areas).

If your skeptical still - HALLOWEEN SHOPPING - it's the time to go.

I am not as big of a vintage fan as I used to be...DC has turned me preppy, but if you want vintage this is THE place to go!  They have very cheap prices (for vintage), a large selection, and good quality.  I went into some vintage stores on Melrose in LA and wow, they has shitty selections of T-shirts for like $100 each.  No good.  The guys section is as big as if not bigger than the lady's which is rare.  Check out the old TIME magazine while you are in there...pretty cool!

I am a vintage junkie and the search for elusive vintage tees will always be a grail quest to me. Boomerang's offerings were sub-par for my particular interest of tees but don't let that bad egg fool you. The shop houses some serious threads from yesteryear with a few great retro housewares as well. I did almost get lost in all the Member's Only jackets but trying on all the shades more than made up for it.

Hmm...I'm not sure how to describe Boomerang.  Sure, they have vintage clothes easily labeled into their corresponding era's, lots of accessories for girls, a pretty big men's section, and some kickass women's shoes.  But if you look closer, you'll notice that some of their stuff is downright new and cheap.  Take for instance, their overflowing selection of earrings.  I overheard the counter guy say they buy it in bulk from ebay so they have no idea what they get.  Well, to me it looked like colored tin on hooks--not very classy and looked just the same.  I mean, sure, it might appeal to the college kids in the area, but for someone who loves vintage jewelry like me, it was kind of a slap in the face.
I did make an amazing discovery at Boomerang (so much so I don't want to write it in here, but sharing is giving right?).  They sell American Apparel 80's style dresses (the one that looks flattering on every woman I might add) for $14!  These are the same ones they sell at AA for $38!  (I know, b/c I have this dress in almost every color).  That blew me away.
This store is fun if you're not looking for anything in particular, but overwhelming in that same sense too.  There were a lot of kids in this store, and sometimes it was hard to get past an aisle (having to give up and go back out the same way you came in).  But it was definitely fun to see their collection, which I was told changes every few weeks.

This store is a blast to go to! Hello Retro! You will have a hay day here! But you do need HOURS of free time to really enjoy the place. There's just so much stuff. Treasure after treasure of cool findings. Fairly priced. And you can tell they are pretty selective with what they allow in the store my girlfriend and I went one time just to try out dresses!! We had a blast from the past. OMG they have clothes, shoes, jewelry even a few furniture and appliances. I love going once in a while, you just never know what you will find!! :) Definitely bring a friend along the first time. Guaranteed fun and laughs!

Boomerang is hands down my fave vintage clothing/home decor store in Kansas City. (Besides Retro Inferno, that is). Housed in what used to be a mechanic's garage, Boomerang offers a wide range of vintage clothing for men and women alike. The entire left hand side of the store is women's wear with the right side dedicated to men's clothing, furniture, home accessories/décor and miscellaneous knick-knacks. For women: All of the clothing is conveniently organized by era and style with offerings from a 1940's Sunday dress to a 60's Jackie O  pant suit. For men: same convenient categorizing with an emphasis on tshirts, jeans/pants, retro sweaters/western shirts and novelty type  jackets.  Everything is in perfect shape, (no dangling buttons or rips here), which is a huge relief for us non seamstress types. Interesting vintage purses, gloves, shoes, costume jewelry and miscellaneous accessories available at reasonable prices. The dressing rooms aren't Nordstrom, but they're fairly clean, well lit and reasonably sized. The furniture varies at Boomerang so it's good to check in from time to time to see what's available. Anything from a vintage diner set to a 1960's bedroom set can be found and there are no duds here. Boomerang prides itself on selling items that won't need a touch up once you're home, therefore the prices can seem a little steep to some. It's worth it if you really don't have the time or interest for reupholstering. There's an eclectic mix of small appliances, kitchen accoutrement, glassware and cute novelty items to perk up your digs. Some vinyl, fabric remnants, toys, and old magazines live in the far back of second room. Halloween is a big deal at Boomerang as they rent a slew of costumes. (Get there early for best choices). I NEVER leave this place without finding something for me to wear and something for my pad to wear. Ignore the naysayers who blame Boomerang's prices on the rich, Johnson County set who have infested the place. The clientele remains diverse and the prices are very reasonable given the quality and unique selection.
