All the other reviewers are spot on!!  This is a thrift store worth going to and has everything from vintage, furniture, art and clothing.

This is an odd little shop and it might not be around for much longer.  At least maybe not in this location as there was a sign in the front yard saying it was available to lease/buy.

The store itself is in what was originally a home.  One of the bathrooms is now the fitting room.  The upstairs has a small assortment of older lady clothes: think Alfred Dunner brand.  I couldn't spend too much time downstairs as I was feeling very claustrophobic.  The ceilings are maybe 6'1" or 6'2"?  I'm 5'9" and felt like I almost had to duck.

The clothes downstairs seemed to be very 70's and over the top.  Great for a costume party, but nothing that could really be mixed in with "modern" clothes for every day.

The guy running the store was very nice though.

Boomerang offers a mix of contemporary secondhand and vintage mens' and women's clothes, furniture, accessories, and shoes.  Everything in the store seemed to be high quality and well maintained - no stains or unravelling hems, etc.  The owner is really friendly, and gave me a verbal tour of the store before setting me loose to look around.  I'm glad he did, because otherwise I wouldn't have ventured down the tiny spiral staircase (which was exciting because for some reason I was fascinated by those as a kid) to the retro section in the basement.  I found the tiny rooms down there to be too crowded, which didn't encourage me to take my time considering the options.  I did notice an awesome gold tutu dress from the '80s, along with some other fun formal and casual wear.  If I ever need a fancy new dress, Boomerang would be one of the first places I would look.

Upstairs, the consignment items range from unique designer items to last season's (or older) Banana Republic and Gap clothes.  Some of these pieces are timeless, but others are more trendy and, it seems to me, have gone out of fashion.  ...So the selection is kind of inconsistent, and you might find yourself getting discouraged.  But if you're persistent, you can definitely find some cool stuff upstairs at a fair price.  Fortunately, Boomerang is fairly small, so the idea of sifting through the entire women's section isn't too daunting.

Living in Chicago for only three weeks is already starting to spoil me on the whole vintage thing.  Sure, there are a fair number of "vintage" clothing shops here that are overpriced, trying to goad you into buying a western shirt for $30 you could easily get at some other shop for a lot less.  While those places are a pain, there are the places here who will actually put stuff on sale, have a lot of sidewalk sales, and who keep prices low.

Nashville, on the other hand, suffers from a bad vintage disease.  Most of the places in town to buy true vintage stuff double as costume rental places, so they keep a lot of the best stuff aside for costumes, and then overcharge for the stuff that they sell.  Sure, vintage brass beltbuckles are cool, but I shouldn't see a $25 price tag on one.  And I get that you're in Music City, USA, but only custom made Western shirts are really ever worth more than fifteen bucks.  Boomerang, on the other hand, stands tall against the Nashville vintage norm.

The prices aren't cheap, but they're not astronomical either, and the stuff being purchased for resale here is obviously quality.  The owner is a man of discerning taste, and it shows in the stuff that he has for sale.  Not just clothing, but also lots of great kitschy and not so kitschy furniture and housewares.

As for the clothing, I've found something almost every time I've walked through the door.  If you're into the whole pearl button, Western shirt thing, they tend to be cheaper at Boomerang than most other places, unless you're one of the lucky few who can find them at Southern Thrift or Goodwill.  They usually range from $12-$17 here, which in Nashville is not bad at all.  The clothing options for women aren't as plentiful as the ones for men, and I've never had a lot of reason to look through them, so I can't comment as much on that selection.  But everything in this store is worth a look, so I don't see why the female clothing would be any different.

I can't write this without mentioning that the last time I was in there before the big move North, I found the most amazing vintage hat that fit me just perfect.  It only cost me $25, which is honestly a great price for a vintage hat in this good of condition.  Thanks Nashville, and thank you Boomerang.

Cool place for some great vintage finds.  Upstairs is a little more "mainstream", more consignment than costumey.  Downstairs--now that's my favorite!  Be warned though, you have to navigate a pretty tight spiral staircase to get down there.

I love the vintage American Tourister luggage and train cases.  They have plenty to choose from!  I also found a great outfit for a Solid Gold dancer costume.  Pretty inexpensive too!  Shoes, hats, gowns, one-piece pantsuits, you name it and Boomerang has it!

I recommend stopping by if you need a fun '50's - '80's era costume, or if you just want some good deals on cool retro stuff.  The same guy is in there each time I visit, and he is so nice and helpful.  Definitely put it on your map if you like this type of stuff!

I ventured in Boomerang on a weekday during my lunch break after years of passing by and wondering what I would find inside. I can't say I was overly impressed, but I wasn't necessarily disappointed either.

The shop owner was extremely friendly, which is a welcome change from some of the rude or indifferent folks you'll find in some stores. I am so glad I ventured downstairs, because the upstairs offered very little in my opinion. The clothes upstairs did not appear to be vintage, but instead clothes from the past five or so years that just haven't passed the test of time. Or, maybe they were just not my style. Either way, I just wasn't interested.

Luckily, I was brave enough to venture down the tiny little spiral staircase that led to the downstairs of the house. It was like uncovering a hidden treasure! The ceilings were low and the lighting was not so great, but I was thrilled to find such a great selection of ladies vintage clothing. The dresses in particular stood out to be in top vintage condition and not too "costume" vintage. I hate going into vintage stores and just finding gross polyester dresses from the 70s. There were also some really nifty old suitcases and home furnishings. I'd definitely go back, and I am glad that I finally stopped in after passing by it for so long!

While Boomerang didn't really have any clothes items that I was particularly interested in, the place was packed with some pretty neat stuff.  Upstairs there were several racks of what Boomerang refers to as "finer thrift" items.  I can certainly see why--these shirts, pants, blouses and dresses aren't Salvation Army or Goodwill type of items.  They're carefully cared for, clean and in close-to-new condition.

While the selection at Boomerang certainly isn't bad, it seems like the women's selection is a bit more extensive.  I was able to find a few interesting button-ups, but they don't carry my style of shirts (mostly old Western shirts and things of that nature).  Regardless, the prices were still pretty low considering how nice everything was, and the collection was pretty eclectic in style and size.

There is a pretty cool little area downstairs primarily full of clothing, thought the spiral staircase to get down there is a bit treacherous.  In addition to clothes, Boomerang also carries some paintings, furniture, lamps and other random kitschy items.  I found a very cool end table with a sliding top and an embossed picture of a wolf on it for just $40, but I don't really have anywhere to put it.  In retrospect, I probably should have bought it.  Damn.

I adore this store. I try to visit once or twice a month, they have the greatest finds! And the owners are really GOOD people, they recognize me when I come in, which I just love. You MUST go here if you have never been. Love love!!!

Only reason for the one star is that it's closed. We pulled up and some guys outside the store told us it was closed and would be reopening soon as a landscape design biz. Bummer.

This is a great thrift store.  I cannot count the times that I have needed a shirt or a jacket for a party with a trendy crowd and walked out of Boomerang with 6 or 7 choices and only a couple of bucks out of my wallet.  The guy that runs the shop is friendly and will engage you just enough that you don't feel lost.  In addition to clothes, you can occasionally come across some nice furniture finds as well.  You should check the shop out before your next big outing!!

I love going to Boomerang. Someday I'm going to buy some furniture here, which is actually very reasonable for the excellent condition of all the furniture items I have seen here. Last time I was here I got some really nice earrings and a Burberry umbrella for less than $20. Plus the owner, Kimmy, is soooo nice, even to my silly four-year-old! He didn't act like Harry was going to break everything in the place, which made me want to hug him. So I stop by here every chance I get.

This is a great shop, conveniently located near all the antique shopping destinations on 8th Ave South.  My favorite treasure from Boomerang is a red "tiara" American Tourister train case.  The guy who was always working when I stopped in was really friendly, in a genuine way, and often gave me a deal off the price tag.  The basement is also filled with more clothes and furniture, but you have to walk around a pretty wee spiral staircase to get there - not advised for the claustrophobic or anyone with a very large tummy.  I would say overall the clothing offerings for men are usually better, but I almost always found something I liked.

If it's one thing I learned while shopping in vintage and thrift stores in Nashville- if they say they have more in the back or downstairs, go there first because that's the jackpot. No store proves this more than Boomerang. The upstairs was mostly out of date high end older lady clothes, but the downstairs was INCREDIBLE. The price were a little high for me, although the vintage stuff was all pretty cool and in very nice shape. So about $15-$20 an item isn't terrible if you consider what you're getting. Also the owner was very friendly and was willing to make a deal with me, as I was running out of vacation money, so I got a fantastic suede skirt and vintage fancy floral hat for $20.
