I love this place! Aside form being almost over-the-top girlie (in the best way), this tiny boutique packs a power punch with impeccable service, a great atmosphere (music included) and some of the most gentile- yet effective hair ripping this side of anywhere!

If you're looking for any type of waxing or brow tinting, Jess Bartley is your gal! She's super charming, gentile, has a great eye for shaping brows, she's incredibly knowledgeable on all things skin related, and quite passionate about removing all your unwanted hair. Jess is in fact, a rock star.

I've had several services with her including, underarm wax (had it done about 3 weeks ago and I'm just getting stubble!), brow shaping (she sets it to you straight- no tadpole brows- EVER) and brow tinting (I felt like Liz Taylor- no joke).

Jess is my go-to chick and I have a feeling she's going to blow up in the business, so start booking appointments with her before she's too busy!

I suppose, If I could, I'd give BBBB 2.5 stars, mainly because the service is so inconsistent. First: as everyone has said, the place is charming and the staff is lovely, with the exception of the owner, whom I wish were a bit friendlier. Like others, I've showed up, found the place empty and simply been ignored. Very weird.

But the services are the important thing. The first few times I had my brows shaped (all I do), they turned out great: even, flattering, elegant, suited to my face. (I saw Beth.) Then, a month or so ago, I went in and saw someone else (Jennifer?), who was so, so nice, but my brows were two completely different shapes!! Seriously. I mentioned it to her and she told me to use brow powder to even them out, then applied some, just to one brow, which looked utterly awful and bizarre. I think she even realized it and wiped it off. But she basically told me there was no way to make my brows even. Though every other person I've seen has done so. I left, went home and evened them out myself, as best I could.

Agh. Not sure if I would go back, as one can't really choose a technician....

A cute and tiny salon. Walking in is almost like walking into a glittery doll's house; it's all chandeliers and mirrors.
I'm new to this whole brow thing. My brows are nearly non-existent. I generally use cosmetics every day to avoid looking like I pulled a Marilyn Manson and shaved them off. But I decided I might be able to avoid that by having my brows tinted.

I don't think my beautician (I guess that's what they are?) had ever encountered someone with such light eyebrows as mine. I ended up having to have then dyed 3x (instead of once) to take on enough color to be noticeable. Although the place was quite busy, she was very patient with my taking longer than other customers. After I was finally dyed, I decided to get a waxing too, to give my brows a bit of shape.

I did have a bit of a skin reaction - not sure if it was to the wax, or the repeated dye treatments, or the combination of both, but they did warn that that might happen (you have to sign a waiver). But it calmed down in a couple of days, and now I actually do have fairly nice and visible eyebrows without cosmetics, for the first time in my life! I mean, they're not the crazy dark and dramatic brows I envy on others, but they're fine.

Going here also made me feel very very very sad that I left my ancient claw-footed bathtub in my old apartment. They have one here, cut in half and filled with cushions to make a sofa/bench, and it's so cute! I really couldn't move it though, let alone cut it in half... it must've weighed a (literal) ton!

I went there a few times without issue. Then, last Friday, Tammy gave me a waxing from hell. It hurt more than usual, but I didn't realize when I left the extent of the burn. It's four days later now and there is still a huge red welt under my left brow. I'm getting married later this week and I will never forgive Boom Boom for making me look like a freak on my wedding. Everywhere I go people ask me what happened to my eye. SO SO SO UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED. Obviously never going back...

I have tried to stay away. I really have at somewhere between $20 and $23 for a brow wax it is pretty steep but they are amazing. I cannot get over how good they look every single time. Beth is my favorite andI will sit and wait for her for as long as it takes.

I love the fact that Baby (the Boom Boom pet) is there all the time and is really just a friendly lovable pooch. I love the atmosphere, there are thongs on the chandelier and a bathtub as a couch, the girls are always jamming and talking, laughing and generally have a good time. How they stay focused on giving you beautiful brows with all the distractions is beyond me, but I'm grateful nonetheless.

Amazing place, amazing girls, amazing brows, is it worth the price? Every.Single.Friking.Time!!

I hate to leave a bad review because I've had good experiences with Boom Boom Brow Bar. However, those times were when I came in during a slow period. When I was in last, I was a walk-in during such a busy time that they turned down customers shortly after I arrived.
So needless to say, my stylist was rushed. However, she did not ask me what I wanted at all and just started waxing. When she was done, she did not show me my reflection at all. I was in a bit of a hurry and just looked at my profile in a mirror in the front as I paid. But I later noticed that one of my eyebrows was significantly shorter than the other! In retrospect, I shouldn't have paid the full price.
Make an appointment or go during a day off, but otherwise I'd avoid it!

    - recommend: Melinda
    - very personable, helpful, and professional staff
    - comfortable setting
    - adorable pup
    - priciest eyebrow wax I've ever had but they know their stuff, at this point I'll just tweeze to maintain it
    - they actually listen to and follow your instructions, which I cannot emphasize enough as being a rare find

They wax they don't thread...had I known, I would not have gone there. I like the way threading looks much better. They are very nice and the place is cute, its just that personally, I think threading looks more natural.
I searched for threading on yelp and they came up...I won't go back but again, if you like waxing, this is a good place, albeit pricey.

If yelp allowed half stars, I'd dish out 3.5

So, I went back to Boom Boom, and the customer service was substantially better. Courteous and knowledgeable to all.

Again, if you get Maylinda  (I keep butchering her name) or Kerri (the weekend manager) to do your brows, great, you're in good hands.

But I had a woman who yes, did a good job on my brows, but when she found out I complained about the service here on yelp, she rushed me out. (Or at least that's what it felt like). *I kinda wish the manager didn't announce it aloud so everyone in the place could hear that I had returned after a poor review. Once it was announced, my person barked "What happened last time?"  The weekend manager calmed her down, but that made me feel a bit awkward...*

Also, usually, the technician will allow me to view at least one brow after shaping. Not with this person... I guess I'm used to more "check out what I've done to your brows, are you happy? Is the shaping ok?"

Boom Boom IS a good place. And I'm glad to know they still do not double dip.

Glad to know the owner listens to her customers.

Only have gone here for the eyebrow wax happy-hour special, which includes free lip waxing (yes, I admit that I have that done),  Have always been told that the wait is a "few minutes," which winds up being between seven and twenty. Still worth the wait.

Saw Daniella last week and she managed to do a great job with eyebrow shaping and I was left with no redness.  Awesome!  She also did a great lip waxing.

Have found that the staff is friendly and helpful.  I will return.

These girls helped me redefine (literally) my eyebrows. After years of threading and getting thinner and thinner, I decided to cut some bangs and let my eyebrows grow out. (The bangs were meant to hide the unruly, unsightly uni-brow that was most likely to grow in after only a few weeks of no maintenance). After a month of regrowth, I started researching reputable places to go for a consultation and reshaping. I was recommended to go to $90 tweezer pluckers, eye brow shapers to the stars who were charging in the triple digits  and spas all over the city. I found Boom Boom and decided to trust them with the task of getting me a shape I wanted and not make me feel like I had put in all this work for regrowth to have it all ripped away.
The staff were each lovely from the girl who waxed my brows to the receptionist. I got a great wax and some advice on what to do next (keep growing, tweeze only random hairs, NO MORE THREADING EVER and castor oil to help the hairs I wanted to come back, come back). $25 later, I walked out of there a happy girl.

I had high hopes for this place, which a colleague had recommended to me -- and I had grown my eyebrows out for months in anticipation. Unfortunately, I left disappointed.

First, let me just say that the place is really cute and the aestheticians are sweet. And this might be the perfect place for someone who likes their brows to look a certain way (basically very heavy, defined and dark).

Deanna did my brows. She had a great attitude and I liked her a lot. Unfortunately, she kind of messed up my eyebrows. She suggested that I let her use brow powder on them, which ended up not being the best look in the world. I naturally have rather delicate brows, which look nice and suit my face. After the waxing and the brow powder, I ended up with really dark, heavy, powdered brows that overpowered my small face and made me look harsh and older. The girls at BBBB seem to really like a dark, heavy brow (even for their platinum blonde receptionist), so if that's your look you're going to love it. Otherwise, you're going to leave disappointed.

When I left the place, I ducked into a nearby restaurant to remove some of the powder so I could walk home looking like myself and not Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face (no diss on Audrey but that's not my style!). And that's when I realized what the brow powder had been covering up. One of my eyebrows had been wrecked. It was suddenly shorter and higher than the other one, and the powder had been used to even them out. Yikes.

Lovely people, but I won't be returning here. Looks like it's back to $6 threading for me!

I have been a fairly loyal Boom Boom client for over 2 years. I have strayed a few times and had my brows threaded in a pinch, but mainly I stick with Boom Boom. I was there today for a brow wax/tint and eye lash tint. Lauren handled all of it and did an amazing job. However, when I went to pay, the total was 70.00. I handed over a 100 bill and received 27 bucks back. It's like, "hey, if I'm here paying 70 bucks for brown maintenance at least give me the proper change." I know it's 3 dollars, but it's the kind of thing that irks me.

The services are pricey but if you have a special event of want to look nice and put together for the holidays, I find it worth the price.

Girls are weird. We scrub our feet with stones, cut, paint, bleach, tint and spray tan ourselves into some sort of improved form. The most masochistic of these beautifying rituals? The act of ripping out hair from the epidermis. Pluck, pull, rip. Spread hot wax on legs, eyebrows and even hoohahs in an effort to look and feel groomed. And it works.

Some times it works better than other times.

The ladies at Boom Boom Brow Bar have some serious hair-ripping skills. As a virgin to the eyebrow waxing game, I approached with caution. Some scrutinizing inspection, a Frida Kahloesque dye application, a couple rips here and there and suddenly: I have eyebrows. Perfect, symmetrical and visible. While the space is tiny and lends itself to basically no privacy, the results are fabulous.

You may just forget that sometimes there is pain for those gains.

I agree with other posters that this place has gone downhill.  After a few good waxes, I went back two months ago and despite asking for full, natural looking brows I came out with pencil-line thin, awful brows.  I waited as long as possible to grow them out and go back.  When I did so a few weeks ago I got the shape I wanted, but the technician burned me so bad I had severe redness and pain for the following week.  I will not go back!

I decided to cheat on Shobha Threading today and try out  Malynda at Boom Boom Beauty Bar... and honestly, how glad am I that I decided to jump ship?

Nothing against the threading artists at Shobha, but Malynda took one look at my brows and recommended that in addition to a waxing (what I was there for) that I tint them as well to make my eyes pop. This is something that has never been mentioned to me before and that I never would have thought of on my own.

I've never been a brow dyer but her friendly, encouraging demeanor put me at ease and I took the plunge. 15 minutes later, my face was transformed and a prettier version of Lindsay D. left than had arrived.

Malynda, you've got my brow business from now on.

Pros: They took me as a walk in, Maylinda gave me a good shape considering I haven't had them shaped in (DON'T LAUGH) 10 years. Relatively inexpensive-ish, considering your eyebrows are things on your face that frame your eyes. Or your rad glasses.

Cons: Fairly unprofessional staff (chatting about whatever rather than paying attention to clients beyond what is strictly required, unresponsive to my "thanks!" as i left, etc). But there are more things to waxing than customer service, so: I got home and noticed she had missed some hairs... both shorter, dark ones on my brow bone proper and a few long ones on the side. And there was a gob of wax still stuck to the part of the brow where the arch starts. I hadn't noticed at the salon because I felt like I was being rushed out the door, and in general, being ignored.

Overall, a good shape quickly executed, but a little sloppy and rude. I feel like you shouldn't have to touch up something you just paid someone to do.

Maybe it was fate....just got home from getting my eyebrow done by Malynda for the first time....turned on my computer to catch up the NYTimes Thursday Styles section and what do I see???  http://www.nytimes.com...

Sweet!  She deserves it.  She's got a good eye, she's fast...and the wax doesn't make my face all red and puffy.  And, the prices are nail salon prices but definitely a step above.

Not really used to sitting upright while I get my eyebrows done and I'm used to a longer visit, but so far so good.  She's just down the street, so i'll definitely be going back.

It takes a lot of work to look low maintenance.

While I don't think this is a secret to girls, it probably is to many guys. Unless you are just naturally fabulously gorgeous (and I'm not), carrying off a simple natural look takes a lot of work, time, and effort. Otherwise, if you really do go au natural, you look like some sorry plant that's gone to seed. And because I don't rely on a lot of cosmetics or anything else, I have to make sure that everything is *just* so and exactly right. It's like a fabulous dress. If you get the right dress, really good quality with a great cut, you don't need anything else. And who cares if you spent $$$$ for it because it's worth every penny.

I came to Boom Boom because of a Lifebooker special -- brow tint and shaping. I was interested because of all the great reviews. I was looking forward to having my brows done because I wanted to see if something more interesting and dramatic could be done. I always just went with a clean up and I was ready for a little more.

The salon is tiny and not at all relaxing. I generally love getting groomed because it's "me" time and something I do to treat myself after a really long and/or tiring period of time. At Boom Boom you sit out in front (in the same area as the reception) where everyone is. The music is loud. All the aestheticians were there yelling over the music while talking to each other. I got a headache from all the noise. It was all a bit chaotic.

While everyone was nice, I felt a bit harried from the frenetic energy. I was rather disappointed that there was no discussion about what I would like done with my brows. I sat down, dye was plopped onto my brows, and then after a period of time, the technician waxed them without any input from me about what I was looking for. The job was nice enough, but considering that I was hoping to get a more dramatic arch, getting a clean up was not at all what I had wanted. Even if my brows can't be done that way, I would have wanted the technician to explain this to me.

The regular price for tint and shaping is $38, something I would gladly pay if I were wildly enthusiastic about the results.

    oo snap.

Ok, so I felt HORRIBLE because it took me 1 hour to get there (stupid MTA!) and I was running late for my appointment. I'm also a huge nerd and couldn't find the location so I had to call and tell them I'd be late. The receptionist was super sweet and said not to worry about it.

I rushed in about 10-15 minutes late and felt bad because I was all sweaty and gross from coming from the gym. There was a chatty lady on the couch with a dog and I just sat down to wait. Turns out the chatty lady was my waxer!  I felt a little weird, because she told me to sit without introducing herself and she was talking to another worker the ENTIRE time. Literally, I was just silent as they yakked away. I wondered if she was paying attention?? Although, I was so gross I felt bad that she had to touch my face.

UMM.. as soon as she was done, i was like "Oh gawd, WOW." She could chat away to the dog for all I care, if she could make me look like THAT! It was amazing. It was done super quickly and she had somehow transformed my wacky eyebrows into a super clean, chic look. I didn't even need to fill in my brows anymore with eyebrow shadow! What the!!! I forgot what a big difference eyebrows make! Sweaty, Gym Me became classy all of a sudden.

Apparently, the shaping part is such a breeze for them -- let them do whatever it takes, as long as they do a good job right?! I emptied my wallet with whatever cash I had for her tip. I like the way they do the tip - It's all in a glass jar and they just collect whatever they get for the night. It's nice so that they're not eyeing the bills you hand to them and either smile or look depressed. They save that for the end of the night when they collect ALL their tips for that day. Nice!

Yeah, sorry Boom Boom but you are in serious need of a downgrade. I wanted so bad to love this place, and I did, until my past two visits there. And at this point, I'm not sure I'll go back for a third episode of sheer annoyance. This is where it begins...
Randomly, a few months back after reading Yelp for a recommendation (obvi!) I chose Deanna and she did an unbelievable job on my brows. Fast forward a few months, I schedule an appointment on line with my regular girl Deanna, I show up for my appointment (mind you I'm two days away from a Caribbean va-va and need my brows down stat) and the girl at the counter tells me that Deanna isn't there?! Excuse me?! I explain I made an appointment with her and she, in a rather unapologetic tone, tells me that Deanna is on vacation and that appointments with specific techs aren't guaranteed. What?! Last I checked, that was the purpose of an appointment, no?! Whatever. So I let some other chick do my brows and I absolutely was not happy. The shape was off and I kept having to tell her what to wax. I walk out irritated and decide to come back and try for Deanna. But no, Deanna is prego and not coming back so I hear. Wonderful. So, after much trepidation, I decide to give this place another try, with another technician. I make a random appointment online (how interesting, they now changed their online appointment system so that you cannot book a certain technician but rather only book an appointment slot) and show up on time. I walk in, the place is dead. The three girls working there all turn to look at me and not ONE person greets me. The owner, Malyndia, is at the counter scarfing down a piece of cake and doesn't even take a breather when I walk in. Nice customer service. I end up having to greet HER and tell her what I want done so that she can finish housin' her cake. Nice. Then some other random girl does my brows and I become highly annoyed and anxious that I feel like I'm starting to need a Valium because they do NOT look good. Way too thin, poorly shaped and this chick is leaving hairs out haphazardly that I have to be like, um, excuse wtf is this hair doing there in left field?! Like, why am I telling you how to wax my brows?
Don't think I will be subjecting myself to a round 3 try. I'm annoyed just thinking about it.

    Another great West Village find.

After a long hiatus of taking care of my brows brought me here.  For the longest time, my brows were not symmetrical so I grew them out so that I could get them to the right place.... Boom Boom Brow Bar was a perfect match for this.

There was no wait for me and I felt that Lauren, who did my brows, did an excellent job.  She spent time and effort taking great care.

I could see how some people would be turned off by their constant chatter about boys being cute, or whatever they were talking about.  I found it to be a dull buzz in the background and as long as Lauren focused on the task at hand, I was happy.

BBBB took me as a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon. All 4 chairs were busy, but I was the only person waiting, and with the quick turnover I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. Beth did my brow tint and wax. My brows are naturally very fair and straight, and Beth got them to a great but not too dramatic dark brown, and managed to wax an arch into them- something only one other eyebrow tech EVER has been able to successfully do. I'm coming back here whenever I'm in the area!

Having heard raves from my colleagues and scoring a great deal on Lifebooker, I made the trek crosstown to get my brows did.

The place is itsy and in a word: poppin. Girls lined up waiting to get waxed, plucked, dyed and shaped. They run an efficient operation though. I checked in with the receptionist and in a snap was led to one of the pink high chairs, hopped up and asked how I'd like my brows. My technician went to work right away and I was pleased about how pain free the wax was. In less than 10 minutes, she told me to check out the mirror and if I was happy, she'd have me cleaned up and out the door. I was and she did!

They do appear to have a steady mix of walk-ins, appointments and many regulars. However, don't be prepared for a relaxing -- or private -- experience. Your brows are done pretty much in front of the waiting area and window looking on to the street. Very much audience style. But I appreciate a well oiled machine and that was Boom Boom. In and out - and next time, I think I might even ask about the eyebrow tinting as all the technicians looked sharp and glam. Just the kinda gals you want working on your own.

Maylinda pretty much saved my eyebrows from years of abuse. She is an eyebrow genius. She really knows how to shape an eyebrow to compliment one's face. Tammy is excellent also.

I will neverrrrrr go to another place again.

I had been going to Boom Boom for months and enjoyed it.  However, my experience two days ago will prevent me from going back.  The tint job was fine, but Beth seriously burned my face when she waxed my brows.  I'm not talking about a little redness.  Like  serious burns that require ointment every hour, and it HURTS.  When I went back to show them, I was calm.  I was hoping they could give me a refund, or at least get an apology.  They gave me $5 from the cashier, shoved it in my hand, and told me to go get some neosporin.

So, if you like crappy customer service and 3rd degree burns, try boom boom!

Have gone here for a last minute brow wax because it's in my neighborhood and found it to be mediocre - was not impressed with either the shape or the thoroughness of the eyebrow wax. Personally, I found the store aesthetic to be cluttered, overly cutesy and too noisy - I prefer a serene, clean vibe, but that's very subjective. However, I really didn't like the lack of privacy while having my wax done.

I had heard great things abt BBBB but always thought their prices were ridiculous. They had some special via social diva, which offered a complimentary brow wax, and I was excited to try them out. It was raining a lot that night, but I still went, I had great expectations.

When I got there I was told I needed to make 20$ or 10$ donation first, for Breast Cancer awareness. I was expecting to tip, but I wasn't expecting to have to make a donation, having a heads up about that would have been nice.

They weren't organized at all, so no one really knew who was going when. The pushy people went first. The place is small so girls were standing outside waiting.

When it was finally my turn the lady that did mine spilled the wax down my eye, so that some it fell on my eyelash...literally. I hated the job when she was done, and pointed out that one of my eye brows was longer than the other, to which she responded that there was no hair at the very end of one side, she didnt take any off from that side, but that I should leave the other side longer because it looked really nice.

I generally don't like confrontation but i dont like uneven eyebrows more. so I insisted that she made them completely even. in the end they still looked even, but silly, which was irritating bc i actually have nice eyebrows. Most of the people that were going in that night, hardly had eyebrows...so maybe they specialize in JUST cleaning, but not shaping. who knows.

This place isn't worth the price at all.

I've been to brow bar a million times to get tints and waxes. They do a great eyelash tint where it doesn't sting. Today, HOWEVER, I walked out of there feeling pretty crappy - enough to write a review which I have never done before for anything. When I paid for my services - $100 - which is A LOT of money esp in today's economy, the cashier handed over a frequent customer punch card- she gave me one punch. I told her I'd never seen this card before and asked if I could get some additional punches considering the hundreds if not thousands I've spent there. She said no. I asked why I never received one and she said maybe they didn't have them when I was there.  I've been in marketing for 14 years and you just cannot run a business like this. To set some arbitrary rule like this and belittle a loyal and valuable customer is bad business. Plain and simple.

I LOVE their waxing artists!  My brows look good, really good each time I leave here.  I had them shaped this summer than found another deal at a highly rated brow place and tried them, but they did not look near as good when Boom Boom did my brows.  I try to look for deals for their waxing on Lifebooker, however I would gladly pay full price for their services.

Not only do they do great brows, the shop is super cute.

After two years of not touching my brows because I got the Bosley surgery, I finally had to get them done. Throughout the years with all the abuse I was so so scared. Boom Boom Brow Bar saved my brows. Malynda is amazing! She is fantastic with her work. She is fun as heck.  When I cannot get Malynda for my brows, I see Lauren. Lauren does a great job as well.  I have not been disappointed in the bikini was as well.  They're sanitary and quick.  The are pricey but I have no problem saving my money to get good quality work.  It's a fun environment and I love walking in there each time.

I was stopped on the street and complemented by a stranger about the beauty of my.....hair (nope), ass (wouldn't that be nice), legs (not even close), breasts (could you imagine if that actually happened? I would be a combo of horrified and flattered)...no no no.  I was stopped on the street and complemented on my eye brows.  And this is not the first time a perfect stranger commented on my brows, just last night I was getting a facial and the aestician was telling me my pores are too big but my brows are perfect.

I must admit I would much rather be a size 2 (who am I kidding I'll take a size 10) who gets complemented on my hair, legs, ass or even my breasts but what I was given in the beauty gene pool was facial hair that is sculptable.  I would like to send my thanks for this beauty signature to two contributing factors - my Dad who still wears my original brow and Boom Boom Beauty Bar who created the brows that get the red carpet attention.

When you walk into Boom Boom you are among the diva's and it is the diva who knows the power of a perfectly sculpted brow.  Boom Boom shouts drama with their décor and their skill.

You know you are in the best place to have eye enhancing brows when you walk in the door and there is more then one disco ball, hot pink thongs and pantyhose hanging from chandeliers, a wall of Hall of Fame brows (my picture will be added soon I'm sure) and a wishing wall displaying index cards with brightly colored wishes such as "more sex please".  Boom Boom knows that the world needs a bit of "fabulousness" and your eyes are a great place to target those efforts.

So if your dress size, ass, legs or hair wont get you attention from gentleman callers try enhancing your brows and stop in at Boom Boom.

I bought the glycolic peel deal through the http://Groupon.com site (4 peels for $50.)  I finally went in to get my first peel because my pores are expanding at an unacceptable rate and must be stopped!

That went just fine.  A thin layer of skin stripped off and 3 more visits to go. I decided while I was there to let them clean up my brows and to get a wax (yep, a wax way down there.)  I've got my brows arched once before, and it's was ridiculously obvious.  That didn't happen today. She gave me an arch.  After it was all done, I noticed the difference. However, I'm sitting in the neighborhood bar/cafe now and no one has said a thing. Trust me, someone here WOULD bring it up if it was a conspicuous. Therefore, I'm going to give them points for not making me look like the Joker. The other hair that's gone, well, this place would be a completely different sort of bar if they were able to comment on that.

I was a few minutes late, but they fit me in just fine and got right to my peel.  Then my brows got waxed, arched and plucked.  Then it was off to the back for the waxing of the neither regions.  All of the services were efficient and professional.  They accommodated me and that was cool as I'd only scheduled the peel. They were friendly and also funny.

The decor is cute.  It's clearly inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Since she's one of my favorite actresses and that movie is a classic, the decor suited me just fine.  It's definitely much more fun than a sterile spa-like decor.

I'll be back for two weeks for glycolic peel number 2.  I highly recommend them.  I feel a bit more fetching right now and isn't that the point?

I haven't been here in a while---due to budget issues---but after trying two other places in NYC (within the 30-50$ price range) this is def my favorite place to get a brazilian, because it's hygenic, the beauticians are lovely (ask for Tammy or Melani) and are communicative about your service (communication! SO IMPORTANT, i.e. hey, that's HOT! i think you missed a spot...etc.).

At $45 a pop, it's not too pricey, it's just not the best option for a working gal---who's working for min wage...

Lifebooker recently (like two days ago) offer a loot for their eye rehab (tint and wax) for 50% off ($38/2=$19) and I need my eyebrows done. I mean I never had except the quick tweezing of my aesthetician at Sai Kay but that doesn't count.

So I got the loot and booked online. Booking online through their (boom boom's) website is amazingly simple and quick. Very user friendly. I booked yesterday at noon for an appointment today at 6:30.

So I got to the place and it was very intimadating for me. Maybe I just have a inferiority complex but the girls working there all look very pretty and so did the clientele. Like model-pretty.

The place is TINY. Like one reviewer said, they do have a very efficient operation. Eyebrow service is done in said tiny space for everyone. But once I got tint on my eyebrows and looked like a cartoon character, I was no longer feeling debilitatingly shy. You cannot take yourself too seriously when you look like a animated character.

The waxing was painless. I imagined pain. It was quick and easy.

I don't know about the other ladies, but the person who worked on me, Deanna, was very sanitary, did not double dip. Used a whole bunch of sticks. The wax was warm. And it was a nice color of purple.

Anyway, Deanna was very sweet and she really knew what to do with my brows. After waxing, she tweezed stray hairs and applied some eyebrow makeup and eyebrow gel. She applied lots of foundation on me afterwards because I have very sensitive skin that turns pink even if you touch it.

As far as I know they have their own line of eye makeup products. And checkout was simple, I just handed in my lifebooker coupon and was on my merry way.

I tipped $6. I think we are suppose to tip 15% of the ORIGINAL price of the service as far as spa ettiquette goes. And it is New York.
